In the classic rock fandom, when people talk about 80s and 90s music, they always refer to the metal/hard rock stuff that became popular at the time. What I'm trying to say is that I always get sick about the topic. I mean, there's also other stuff like alternative rock, new-wave, shoegaze, and many more. Bands like The Smiths, New Order, Pixies, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream and many more deserved more recognition than they get. Plus, some of those bands are also influencial to later genres such as grunge and indie rock. I'm not posting this to force everyone to listen to these bands but instead making everyone aware that there is more to the 80s/90s and rock itself than just the same stuff all over again.
