Black and white. That's all I can see ever since I got... this way of finding my soulmate. I got it when I was 9 years old, my parents were surprised that I got mine earlier than anyone else. It's a good thing I still remember the colors but... yeah, until now. I kind of miss seeing it since I used to paint a lot, and watching the sunset before I go home to sleep.

I'm turning 18 this month, and I still haven't found my soulmate yet. I went out to buy a cake for myself and look for a new light novel which was made by this Liyuen person, Xingqui. Kokomi told me about it, and it sounds... good. Well, I'm about to find out.

As I head down the stairs with my empty basket in my right hand as I find the store and start asking for the light novel. I was lucky that I got it because it was the last one. I bowed my head and thanked the seller. I turned my heels to walk away but I bumped into someone and fell on top of him.

Well, I was lucky, but now... I'll take it back.

I pushed myself up and looked at him, his eyes were squinting. He... is handsome, and he wears a black headband, but I don't know if his hair is white or blonde. I was looking at his features until realizing I am still on top of him. I blushed deeply because of the position I am in. I quickly stood up and apologized right away before I turned around to run away with my basket.

"Hey, miss!" He called out, but I didn't hear what he said next because the dogs started barking.

I couldn't control my shyness. I chose to run away, and I just planned to make my cake. I finally stopped at the middle of the bridge as I put my hands on my knees and took a deep breath. When I'm done, I continued walking back home. I stopped in front of the door and find the keys inside my pocket. As I was about to open the door, I realized something missing. I looked inside my basket and...

"Where's my light novel?!"

I panicked. I went inside right away to place the basket on top of the table left the house after I locked the door and brought the keys with me. I made so many stops, looking around to find the light novel I bought. I started asking people, but they don't seem to find any missing light novel on the ground.

I am heading back to the bridge where I stopped, but I saw a person standing there, reading my book. It was the guy. He looked so focused on reading my light novel, like a kid reading a storybook after reading it so many times before sleeping. The moonlight was making him look more... beautiful. I shook my head quickly, and I felt my cheeks were back with warmth.

I slowly walked towards him and stopped beside him to poke his left shoulder. He turned his head to face me, but I was looking down.

"Oh, it's you! I knew you'd come back here-"

"Y-Yes, I am sorry! I am shy with... you know, strangers. I'm sorry because I bumped into you! Please bring back my light novel!" I quickly bow down in front of him, not knowing I cut him off.

"Woah Woah! Slow down, tiger. You don't have to apologize. Besides, it's my fault! I was playing with my dog, and I wasn't looking while running away. Please, stand up straight, miss."

I stood up straight but still looking on the ground. "Still, it is also my fault. I was looking at my book..."

"Hey..." he put his hand on my right shoulder.

"You know what? We're both at fault. I forgive you, and you forgive me. So, it's fair." He chuckled. "Here's your light novel, and I apologize again because I read this book before you. I heard it was good." He handed me over it and took it slowly.

"Thank you, and I forgive you, sir." I bowed down again and turned around as I walked away.

"Hey, miss?"

I stopped in my tracks and turned my head a bit, waiting for his response. I couldn't face him, but my body kept telling me to look at him, and it's making me more nervous.

"Could you please... look at me?"

That made me surprised. I think he meant to check if I was his soulmate. Now that made my cheeks came back with Natlan's fire. I couldn't say anything and I just took a deep breath to calm my nerves. I turned around and slowly looking up to see his eyes.

Emerald eyes. His eyes are green that shows hope to me. My whole world went from black and white to a colorful night. Cherry blossoms falling from the sky as the moonlight shows the vibrant pink of it. I can finally see all of the colors but I am still looking at this beautiful man right in front of me. He was also surprised but his eyes have a hint of happiness. I felt my tears streaming down my cheeks as I smiled.

"I..." I was about to say something but he cut me off.

"I-I know... this is amazing! I finally found you!" He walked towards me and hugged me as I did the same.

"I am so happy... this is the best birthday gift ever!" I pulled away to look at him again and placed both of my palms on his cheeks. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't say anything else but to say that I am so happy.

"It's your birthday? Well, let's celebrate it and let's get to know each other and let me buy your cake! After that, we can read your favorite light novel while drinking..."

"(Favorite drink)."

"Yes! Wait, that's also my favorite!" He was now looking like a kid talking to his new friend, or may I say... his future lovely wife.

"Oh! Where are my manners? My name is Thoma, Chief Retainer of the Kamisato Clan." He pulled out his hand, offering a handshake. I took his hand and shook it.

"I am (Y/n), I am just a normal villager here in Inazuma." I chuckled as he did the same.

"By the way, I am fine with your suggestions but accept for buying me a cake," I added. He looked at me while raising one of his eyebrows, waiting for an explanation.

"Help me bake my cake instead." I continued, smiling. He agreed to it as we both walked back to my home.

"I am so glad I didn't stop looking out for you, or else... I might not see the colors in this world." He said as we both stopped right in front of my house, and I looked at him.

"And I can finally watch the sunset with the person who I want to grow old together."
