Holy Helicarrier In The Backyard! (Part 1 Avengers crossover)

*****Author's Note: The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier has engine trouble and lands in the school's backyard, Stevie's wants to help with repairs, but Stark refuses because, afterall, he's WAY smarter than some stupid little kid! Right? Upset, Stevie swears revenge on Stark, wanting to prove he's the one who is smarter. So, of course, cue the usual lunacy. I never did these chapter mainly because they would have been realllllly long and I just couldn't see a way to make them fit into the storyline I had going. Once again, I must thank AvengersGirl410 for the loan of her character, Leslie Stark, Tony's much smarter and totally awesome younger sister!*****

Angela came running into Storm’s office, eyes wide. “Storm, Storm! There’s a helicarrier in the backyard!”

Storm put a hand to her forehead. “Angela if this is another of your jokes, I’m not in the mood.”

“It isn’t! I swear! There really is a helicarrier in the backyard! IT CRASHED! AND I’m pretty sure it’s the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier! OMG, what if the Avengers are on board! AHHHHH I need my Avengers tutu!” She went running from the room.

Melissa darted into the room. “Storm did you know there’s a giant thing in the backyard?”

Storm looked slightly distract. “Yes, yes Melissa. I think it’s the S.H.I.E.L.D.  Helicarrier. Oh dear, what if Director Fury is on board? Does my hair look all right? Should I change?” She patted at her hair distractedly and she made her way toward the door. “We should go greet them! How rude of us to leave them out there!”

Melissa scrunched up her nose. “What is wrong with Storm?” She bounced off to go get Ziva, Skylar, and everyone else.

Ziva looked out one of the windows in the upstairs hallway. “What is that monstrosity in the backyard?”

“IT’S THE S.H.I.E.L.D. HELICARRIER! Dur!” Angela screamed as she ran down the hall and down the stairs.

Ziva shot the others a glance. “Do I want to know?”

Stevie darted away down the hallway toward the stairs. “Wow, I wonder if the Avengers are on board the Helicarrier?”

A’Cadia frowned and followed after Stevie. “I thought they were some imaginary super heroes that Angela worshipped?”

Craig shrugged. “Never asked her.”

The group made their way through the building and out onto the back lawn to where the giant helicarrier was taking up an inordinate amount of space on the back lawn.

“Can’t hide that thing, can you?” Craig said in awe.

“Nope.” Ziva wondered if the government was going to pay them a visit to investigate the thing.

They watched as a group of people disembarked from the thing and made their way over to where they stood just behind Storm—who was nervously fussing with her hair and clothes—and Logan.

“Hello, sorry for the intrusion but we seem to be having some computer issues that are interfering with our engines. I’m Director Fury.”

“Director Fury, you are quite welcome to stay as long as it takes you to repair your computers. I’m Storm, Headmistress of the school.”

Fury nodded. “Yes, we were aware that you had taken over the school. We at S.H.I.E.L.D. were very saddened over the Professor’s death.”

Storm gave a tiny nod. “Thank you, he is still missed.”

Stevie pushed his way to the front of the group. “Hey, you need any help with the computers?”

A snort sounded from somewhere in the group of people. “Seriously kid?”

Fury glanced back at the group of people. “Stark, behave.”

“He’s a kid! How can he help?”

Stevie pulled himself up to his full height. Which wasn’t all that impressive, despite being nine, he’d never been very tall. Even Melissa was taller than he was. Although to be fair, Melissa was slightly taller than average for her age, still Stevie was short for nine.

“I’m smart. I can help. And you weren’t exactly stupid at my age Mr. Stark.”

Tony Stark snorted and pushed his way up to stand beside Fury. It wasn’t surprising that Stark was dressed in full Iron Man gear. Although the mask on the suit was open. He stared down at Stevie. “True. I’m pretty bright.”

“Please Tony, I’m still smarter.” This comment came from Leslie Stark, Tony’s sister.

Stevie frowned at her as she came to stand beside Tony. “Who are you?”

She rolled her eyes. “Leslie Stark. Tony’s sister.”

“Huh, did not know he had a sister.” Stevie scratched at his head.

Leslie gave a deep sigh. “Yeah, getting used to that.”

Angela rushed up and gazed up at Tony Stark lovingly. “Hi! I love you!”

Stark blinked at her. “Um thanks?”

Fury seemed to have grown tired of the Tony Stark love-fest. “Listen, hopefully we’ll only be here for a day or to, until we can straighten out the computers. We won’t get in the way.”

Logan gestured to the Helicarrier. “Already in the way. That thing ain’t exactly a VW Bug.”

Leslie tried to cover a laugh by turning it into a cough. Fury scowled at Logan. “No, it isn’t, we’ll do our best to be out of here as soon as possible.”

Storm smoothed a hand over her hair again and smiled at Fury. “Oh it’s fine Director Fury, take all the time you need!”

Melissa leaned over and poked Ziva. “Is Storm okay?”

“Uh, I’m not sure, but I think Storm may have a crush on Director Fury,” Ziva whispered.

Melissa giggled and looked back at Storm.

Stevie wandered casually down the corridor of the Helicarrier, followed by Melissa and Angela.

“This is so cool!” Angela gushed.

“Be quiet!” Stevie admonished her.

“Sorry, I can’t believe we’re here! Do you think we could find Tony Stark’s room?”

“No! And do not go looking for it!”

Angela pouted as they continued down the corridor. Stevie was looking for the lab so that he could help fix the computers. He wanted to prove to Stark that he wasn’t just a kid since he’d refused Stevie’s help.

Up ahead they heard voices, Stevie grinned widely at the sound and hurried ahead of Melissa and Angela, disappearing through a doorway. The two girls hurried to catch up, following him into the room.

Banner and Stark were arguing about the best way to go about fixing the computer system. While Thor was sitting back and laughing quietly at them.

“You’re both wrong,” Stevie announce authoritatively as he entered the room and set his iPad down.

Stark glowered at him. “How did you get on the Helicarrier?”

“I bypassed the security system.”

“Impossible!”

“If it’s impossible I wouldn’t be here now would I?” Stevie told him as he plugged his iPad into the S.H.I.E.L.D. computer system.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Tony strode forward and yanked the cord free.

“Duh, helping,” Stevie told him as he snatched the cord back and plugged it in.

“Tony maybe we should let him help. I mean we haven’t exactly had much luck,” Banner told him.

Stark sent him a sharp look. “We can do this without the help of some snot nosed kid!”

“Oh wow that one really hurt Stark,” Stevie said with an eye roll. “Not. You honestly do not know who you’re dealing with. Do you?”

“Ooooh, you just made a huge mistake Stark my man,” Melissa told him.

Stark sent Melissa a glare. “I don’t need your help little girl!” His sharp gaze went back to Stevie. “As for you, get out. We do not need your help!”

Stevie held his hands up in front of him. “Fine then, I know when I’m not needed. Ladies.” He waved toward the door.

Melissa gave him a narrowed eyed look but she preceded him out of the room. Once they had left the room and were down the hall a bit, she turned on him, hands on her hips. “All right Stevie, since when do you give up so easily?”

He didn’t say a word, simply moved past her, and continued walking.  “I never give up. Especially when I know, I’m right. Now, according to my blueprints, there’s an elevator up ahead and another lab one level up. Follow me.”

Stevie led the way to the elevator and up to the lab.

Melissa was frowning. “So what exactly are we doing then?”

Stevie ignored her question and made his way over to a bank of computers. Very calmly he sat down, plugged his iPad into the system and within seconds he hacked into the computer. “I’m in the system. From here, I can access Stark Industries rather easily. Stark’s an idiot, he has J.A.R.V.I.S. linked with the Helicarrier’s computer system.”

Angela looked around anxiously. “Are you sure you should be doing this Stevie? I mean you could get into big trouble.”

Stevie shrugged. “I’m not gonna let Stark get away with dismissing me like that, he thinks he’s smarter than me, well, I’m gonna prove to him that he isn’t. He’s going to remember the name Stevie Smark!”

“Riiiiight Stevie. Are you done so we can go? This is getting a little obsessive, even for you,” Melissa said with a little sigh.

He waved a hand at her in irritation. “Shush! I’ll be done when I’m done.”

Melissa gestured to Angela and they slipped out the door. “You wanna go find Stark’s room?”

Angela nodded vigorously and they started off down the hallway. They were certain to stay out of sight. Keeping quiet as well. It wasn’t long before they found their way to the section where personal quarters were.

“See who needs Stevie and his stupid iPad and blueprints?”

Angela nodded agreement as they slipped in through the door to Tony Stark’s quarters. She ran across the room to the closet and flung the doors open. “Look Tony’s clothes!” She rubbed her cheek on the sleeve of one of his suit jackets.

“Angela, stop it!” Melissa dragged her away from the closet. “Act like a normal person and not a raving lunatic fangirl!”

Angela looked longingly at the closet as if she wanted to snatch one of the suits for her own. “But … but it’s Tony! Can’t I just take one? He won’t miss it!”

“No! You can’t!”

Angela gave a small sigh and looked away from the closet. She moved across the room and went into the bathroom. Melissa could hear her rummaging through the drawers and went into the bathroom to see what she was doing.

“Angela! Stop it!” She slammed the drawers shut and dragged Angela out of the room.

Angela grinned and shoved something into her little ballet slipper shaped purse, quickly zipping it shut.

“What did you take?” Melissa asked her suspiciously.

“Nuffin’,” Angela replied.

“Ug, fine. I don’t really feel like arguing anyway. And it’s not like Stark is really going to miss hair products or a stupid comb. Let’s get out of here before he comes in here and we have to hide until he takes a nap or something.”

“Oh my God that would be awesome!” Angela gushed and Melissa yanked on her arm, pulling her from the room and down the hall.

When they re-entered the lab where Stevie was still sitting in front of the computer, he looked up briefly. “I’m almost done. I swear! Just a couple of more downloads and we are home free. I gotta hurry ’cause I think J.A.R.V.I.S. knows I’m here by now and is trying to kick me out.”

“Then get the heck outta there Stevie before we get caught,” Melissa urged him.

“Okay, okay, but I wanted enough ammo to really stick it to Stark!” He yanked the cord for the iPad and stuffed it into his pocket before holstering the iPad at his waist.

Melissa moved to the door and looked into the hall. “It’s clear. Let’s go.”

The others followed and they made their way back outside and to the school. Glad to have made it safely. As soon as they were back inside the school, Stevie grinned at them.

“This is going to be awesome. I need to get to work. I’ve got to make a few phone calls and get everything into place. I’ll let you know when things are ready for you two.” He turned and headed off down the hallway to the stairs.

Angela and Melissa looked at each other. Melissa scowled. “I’m not sure if we should be scared or not.”

“I would be. I think Tony Stark should be,” Angela replied as they headed for their own room.
