Chapter 20
"It was said that your father, the king of the elves, had kidnapped and your mother, Queen of the Inibrius. But I of all people, no that wasn't true. She was young and utterly in love and so was your father. When she fell pregnant with you I had started getting visions disaster and pain and torment you're never grow up on only one side. You had to grow up on neither of them while still being able to see both. You wouldn't be able to focus on what was more important. Being able to live.
So they came to terms and decided that you will go live amongst The Mortals. You lived with a witch and her family. They take care of you as best they could and when you finally grew into an adult, they put them in my suppressor on you. Every so often, you'd forget everything and it would start all over in a new Village and wherever they would bring you at the time. You relive your life over and over and over each time with a different name. You were never the same person twice. Their goal was to hide away make sure you're never found.
But they did find you. Well not you exactly they found the house, and it was either you or the girl you grew to know is your sister who is the daughter of the Lost king. And that my dear is you. An immortal Inibrius and elf hybrid. For the strength of the both but the appetite of the Inbrius. That is why you were hidden amongst humans, so you'd be able to feed and you never really know it. You feed off their energies. Feeding off of their life essence. And they cannot tell because there were so many of them surrounding you.
That my dear is how you didn't starve in prison. Is just a test they had to make sure you were actually who they thought you were. Not to mention surviving through the torment and pain they did and there wasn't a single Scar left on your body. Everyone in that prison could hear what they did to you and yet you're still their only hope.
You are nearly two hundred years old born on the eclipse, giving you powers that any of them could barely dream of and inability in the world Beyond ours. That is why they want you. They want you in order to get between worlds. With you they wouldn't need the gates they want it need special permission and they wouldn't need to go to certain spots every time. They wouldn't only be able to travel between our two worlds. They be able to go throughout the entire universe.
I do not believe you know it, but we have met before."
My head was spinning. I didn't know which way was up and as I sat there I couldn't figure out what to do. I was two hundred years old. Do I cry because I knew who I was? Do I get angry because she knew this whole time? Do I fight back or do I just smile and be happy about it? And in my head I decided nothing was best. To do nothing. I couldn't get angry at her.
"We've never met before. I've never seen you. And how do you even know any of this?"
I looked at her brown hair and golden eyes, and nothing rang a bell. She looked familiar but not in a way where I had met her.
"You're trapped in the in between with Inbrius Queen. And you were led there by someone shifted into the form of the prince. You know the things she tried to get you to do, like to join her. But in the end I helped you escape. Just like you helped me escape from her. That is how I wound up in prison. I gave you a potion that made you forget as much as possible and sent you away in the snow."
I nodded. I didn't remember escaping.
"Who are you?"
She looked shocked at that question. Like I would know her face automatically.
"What? Does the old face not look that familiar to you? I know I'm older but hey."
She looked like someone.. like... like my mother. She looked like my mother and my sister and I could finally see where it was going.
"Were you related to my mother- or my not- mother- or whatever you want to call her?"
Her eyes lit up, sparkling with sadness and joy. I could see it clearly then, hidden behind age.
"Quite the clever thing aren't you. She always told me you were. She was my sister. Every witch is born with a twin and she happened to be mine. Gave up the coven to protect you from your aunt."
"Why can't I feel anything? I mean, why am I not angry at all the news?"
She gave a slight chuckle. "Well, that would be my fault. That soup you ate wasn't just soup there was a calming potion in there. But that's because I'm about to tell you something bigger."
Oh did I want to be angry right now... But I was concerened about the 'something bigger'.
"So?"
She snapped her head to me. Shaking herself out of whatever was playing in her head. "Ah yes. Well. You can't throw things so I should get it over with."
She set down the cup of tea that had appear out of nowhere and looked me dead in the eyes.
"You're going to die."
