Chapter 22: The First-Born Appears

Once the crystal glows announced the noon, the coronation began. The Daluman noble families had gathered in the Crystal Palace, in the Rainbow Hall – the throne room full of different-coloured crystals. The floor was blue-and-green, the ceiling and walls – of emerald colour. The lights shone in many different colours as well: green, blue, yellow, purple, orange, and even red – apparently an ancient gift from the Arruroe family, who had never lived on the Daluma Asteroid but instead originated from Planet Hermin, from the roots of the old Daluma warriors taken as slaves by the Herminoids. Planet Hermin's energy was always known to be clear and bright, hence, it was proven that the red Daluma – the Arruroe – were born exactly because of coming in contact with this bright divine energy of the heavenly planet (it was a known fact, after all, that the Daluma could obtain different colours of energy depending on which matter they interacted with).

Due to being the chosen ones of the superior species, the Arruroe Clan were named a noble family among the Daluman society, hence, their gifts were quite precious to these latter ones and kept right in the Crystal Palace – their royal residence. It was also due to this fact that Lady Maluma Arruroe was highly respected in the Daluman society: she was the last descendant of the Herminese Royal Family main branch – the child of Queen Jallanne man Herminn, and the last descendant of the Arruroe Family main branch – the only daughter of legendary Yuuh Arruroe. Additionally to all these blessings, she was a woman, thus immensely privileged among the Daluma. Her family and the whole crew of her only son Arubah were welcome guests in the Vaagard Royal Palace of the Daluma. Now, they all were attending the coronation of the newest Daluman chiefess – Her Glowing Excellency Yuma Vaagard.

Chiefess Ethna Vaagard stood near the green crystal throne, together with her daughters Hitha and Zona, and the elder women – her viziers since ancient times (some of them had even been around during her mother's reign). Near them stood Maluma Arruroe – the goddess who should give Yuma her blessing once she was crowned. The Galaxy Pirate Emperor, Young Captain Arubah Arruroe stood next to his mother, considered a godly child, hence deeply respected by the Daluma, disregarding the fact that he was a man (after all, he was still the direct descendant of the main branch of the Herminese Royal Family, so it did not matter whether he was a man or a woman, since he belonged to the race of the Creators). A little farther, stood Roderigo Alvarez – Lady Maluma's Hral (or so the Daluma loved to call him), and the whole crew of the Shark Tooth Pirates: Captain's first-mate Baxus, second-mate Jedha, third-mate Prince Zehu Vaagard (he was long banished from the Daluma Asteroid, so attended the coronation as a part of the crew and not as Ethna's son), Baxus' human family – Violet and Gunther – and other crewmates of various alien species sorted according to their ranks and roles on the Shark Tooth. The two sides of the hall were full of Daluman noble families, and in the center, was a glowing yellow line – the path where Yuma should walk once she entered.

Soon enough, the crystals glowed and emitted clanking sounds, hinting upon the start of the coronation. The servants opened the palace doors wide. Princess Yuma, wearing a marvellous green sparkling dress, her light green hair adorned with colourful crystals, walked in with demure steps and the head held high. The people whooped and clapped, bowing to her to show their deep respect. As the crown princess walked on, Jedha sighed once and glanced at Hitha, who stood a little farther, next to her mother the chiefess. She too, feeling the young man's gaze (for the Daluma could feel others' eyes upon them even easier than we humans do), looked back at him. Their eyes met, expressing the common sorrow that was to be concealed with bitter smiles.

"I wish I were a free bird..."

The soft telepathic whisper echoed through Jedha's mind, by the image of a free green bird soaring through the infinite skies.

"I'd be the sky to embrace you with my infinite love..."

Princess Hitha's pale cheeks grew red as she cast her eyes down – she had received his hidden message.

Princess Yuma reached the throne, near which Ethna, Hitha, Zona, and the elders stood. Both she and Ethna sat on their knees before the elders. The eldest woman of the council (that exact one to have placed punishments upon Ethna's elder and younger sons in the past) announced:

"Hereby, Her Splendour Chiefess Ethna Vaagard resigns from her glowing post of the Chiefess of the Daluma Asteroid! Let us thank her immensely for her tremendous efforts to bring peace and order to our kingdom and people!"

"We thank you for your kindness and grace, Your Splendour Ethna Vaagard!" the Daluma gathered in the hall dropped to their knees.

"By the name of the Herminoids, our great gods, I retrieve the Asteroid Heart from Lady Ethna Vaagard!" the elder woman grabbed the yellow glowing crystal attached to Ethna's chest, pronounced a strange incantation, removed it, and raised it before the crowd, making them whoop and cheer. "I announce the new chiefess, chosen by Lady Ethna Vaagard herself, and approved by the council – Her Glowing Excellency Princess Yuma Vaagard! The first-born of Lady Ethna Vaagard and the late Hral Hadosh Vaagard_"

The palace wall exploded. The people screamed and ran to the other side in a panic. The elders, the chiefess, the princesses, and the pirates alike, grew astounded and frightened.

"What the hell?"

Baxus sneered with discontent and covered Violet and Gunther since they were his family and the most fragile creatures of the ones present. His question did not remain unanswered for long: behind the demolished wall, appeared ships with purple glowing sails – the Galaxy Navy! Arubah immediately ordered his men to stay alert, and they all armed themselves. Baxus prepared his stone gear while Jedha grabbed his two laser-swords and Zehu charged up his powers.

"First-born? Are you serious?"

An impish cackle, very familiar to Violet's ears, followed this sarcastic exclamation. She couldn't be mistaken – it was her older acquaintance Doctor D.'s voice, back from the Galal City! So great was the Daluman nobility's surprise when on the prow of the nearest ship, appeared the familiar young man with pitch-black hair, blue eyes sparkling like the ones of a demon's, and the skin burnt as if he had suffered the tortures of infernal flames! The elder viziers, Chiefess Ethna, Princesses Yuma, Hitha, and Zona, and even Prince Zehu standing amongst the pirates trembled in dread:

"D... Dohta?!"

At the sight of the hideous prince whom they had long forgotten, the Daluma panicked and began running up and down, while the guards struggled hard to begin the evacuation in all the mess. Ethna, her daughters Yuma and Hitha, and the elder viziers watched Dohta with pale countenances. Zona, who was still but little when Dohta was banished, had grown so frightened that was shivering on the place.

"H... How did you find the Daluma Asteroid? The outsiders have no access to our trajectory information!"

"Oh, pity I'm not an outsider now, huh, mother? But you're right, I should greatly thank my luck too, that I met that beautiful but naive little lady back in one of my voyages," Dohta glanced at no-less-stupefied and much troubled Violet, who went completely pale at such a remark of his, "I gifted her a little souvenir she gave to no one but my very own brother – my blue crystal on the finger of little Zehu! Pity that all of my creations contain the tracker system I've implemented so that I don't lose them... or so that I use them to my benefit. Thank you so much, little lady, my cute little brother, for giving me such a blasting opportunity!"

Violet and Zehu easily guessed that he spoke of the very blue crystal that Violet had received from him as "the present for the Root Cherishing Day to his fellow Daluma", which she had therefore given to Zehu back in the Galal City, stating it was a gift from a pleasant stranger. Even now, Zehu was wearing that exact crystal on his ring. Realising that it was they who brought such calamity upon the Daluma Asteroid by their own recklessness, they both trembled, while Dohta's lips formed in a vicious grin.

"B... But why are you here?! We had banished you long ago!" the elder Daluma vizier who was the one to have passed the punishment sentence upon Dohta crystal-glows ago, exclaimed with her stiff but shivering voice, "You were to never set foot on the Daluma Asteroid again!"

"Oh, Elder Ainha, could I ever leave this place without repaying my mother and you for your "tremendous efforts to bring peace and order" in the kingdom?" Dohta cackled much in a demonic manner, "My precious mother's resigning from her post today. How could a loving son miss such an event, more so that they're giving his rightful throne to some weak pest?"

He sneered with a clear sense of wrath and disgust, and burst out blue, purple, and yellow energy all at once, blasting Ainha and all the other elders. The women built up a green barrier, but it was far from enough to resist against the three supreme colours of the Daluman energy that Dohta possessed. The barrier broke at the very first interaction with the blast, and it hit the elder women, dropping them all to the cracked crystal floor.

"Ah, gods, please, save us!"

Elder Ainha glanced at where Maluma and Arubah should've been standing, but to her complete horror, noticed that the two had engaged in a heavy battle against the Galaxy Navy ships and the footmen troops led by Admiral Zenon. Captain Arubah had no choice but to guide his crewmates in this confrontation, together with his powerful mother and his experienced father, who happened to be a brilliant strategist. Even Violet and Gunther, these simple humans, had now engaged in the battle, fighting side by side with their pirate friends.

"Heh, I don't think your precious pirate allies have any time for you now!"

Dohta laughed and charged at the elder women to finish them for good, giving vent to the inner rage he had born for all these years, but his path was crossed by his mother yet again – Ethna and Yuma opposed him together, while Hitha and Zona began to lead the elders to a safer place.

"You dared show up here again? Well then, I shall stop you as I did back then!"

Ethna charged at Dohta with her full power of the yellow energy. Yuma too, followed her example, activating her feeble light green powers.

"Maybe you had enough strength to abuse a little child, mother, but I'm no more the weakling you so heartlessly burned ages ago!"

Dohta easily parried Yuma's light green energy and even managed to dodge Ethna's yellow powers – the very ones to have burned him back in his youth. Seeing he had improved quite a lot and had indeed turned into the serious threat her viziers foresaw him to become, Ethna frightfully covered her beloved child Yuma from the berserker prince's colourful attacks.

"Balal, Suhr Seht!" she combined two spells – 'Balal, Suhr' for the yellow, and 'Balal, Seht' for the green, merging the two said colours into one – and blasted Dohta with the fused ray: "Disappear, you fiend!"

So great was her stupor when, instead of creating a barrier or jumping aside to dodge the shot, Dohta simply raised his hand to take the blast head-on. Out of that very hand, leaked some hideous energy, overtaking the young man's whole body – the black flame. Once the green-to-yellow ray hit it, it got devoured, and the blackness increased even more. Ethna, beholding her most powerful attack to be so easily consumed, fell to her knees in horror and despair:

"N... No way, the Black crystals of death?!"
