A Dragon held the balance of the world, but when something happened to cause it to go berserk, a man has to leave his family in order to stop the commotion. He dies, but his death is the gateway to stop the beast, and he is remembered as a hero.

This idea came from a photo that I can't find again. It was a picture of a mother and son standing out in a grassy field, with the son pointing out to a mountain, where we can see a massive dragon roaring.

I was inspired to write something based on it. Although, I have not started it. I would love to see it be done.
