Chapter 3: Vegetative state

They arrived where a tree is sitting on a throne, and the carrot bows down. "Itmen baul menokaist beh! Ziar! Ni haula... Oanum!" He said. "Irshmau, iptem gorska. Emitan...ul friol!" The tree said. "Gorska, Ziar o!" The carrot said. "Welcome, creatures. My name is Ziar. Do you speak human?" The tree sitting on the throne asked. "You can speak our language?" (Y/n) asked in surprise. "Oh my goodness, yes! Finally, words I understand!" Fran said. "My good friend Ryde told me that you showed him an illustration..." Ziar said. "With two humans and a cat! I assume you are one of them... one of the little girls!

Please forgive my good friend if he scared you! We have never seen a human looking like a tree before..." Ziar said. "Help me, please! I'm a girl!" Fran said. "Hohoho! No need to speak, my child. The seed will show me everything!" Ziar said. "Huh?" (Y/n) asked. "Iptem monakaist ekto! Ekto bro! Ekto prote!" Golden light glowed in his hand, and he blew it over to Fran, which caused an apple to grow on one of her branches, and Ryde snatched it and brought it to the tree. "Hmm... Let me see... You two are good! No doubt about that... seekers of the truth! Very common of the Bow family tree. Ah! Your names are Fran and (Y/n)! You are the girls with the passion for life.

I see great love towards this little creature standing next to you!" "Did you figure all of that out with that seed?" (Y/n) asked. "Be quiet... I see something else... The seed doesn't hide anything!" He said. "What is it?" (Y/n) asked. "I see a world nobody should see... Nobody, except for one." The tree said. "What do you mean by "except for one" ... You mean the monster?" Fran asked. "You and (Y/n) are not supposed to be here, Fran..." He throws the seed away. "That is the only thing I can tell you, my child." The tree said.

"I kind of feel like that much is obvious. Can you help me help my sister? We're trying to get back home." (Y/n) said. "We can't let you leave now... It's too dangerous for us." Ziar said. "What is with everyone trying to imprison us in this world?! We aren't here to hurt anyone we just want to go home!" (Y/n) shouted angrily. "You should never have been aware of our existence!" Ziar said. "There must be a way! ...Am I dead or something?" Fran asked. "Dead? What do you mean by that?" Ziar asked. "She means as in "not living" anymore, sir." (Y/n) said. "Besides, it's not normal to be a tree... I must be dead!" Fran said.

"Death is nothing more than the absence of love. Once you can't feel love, you die... even if your body still walks." Ziar said. "For real?" (Y/n) asked. "You have to help us get back home!" Fran said. "Little cat... little girl... Come closer, let me see you. What is your name, cat?" Ziar asked, and he does. "My name is Mr. Midnight..." he said. "That is indeed a very pretty name. Do you think Fran and (Y/n) should go back home?" Ziar asked. "Yes I do, sir! Show us the way back home, I implore you!" He said. "Wait, I have a question. Are you the King?" (Y/n) asked. "Hahaha, you are hilarious!

Yes, I am the King! The king of Ithersta!" He said. "Oh! What an honor, Your Highness. By the way, I like your leaves... They are pretty!" Fran said. "King, sir... please! Will you help us?" (Y/n) asked. "Why is this need of you going home so great? The seed told me your story... You don't have much to go back to." Ziar said. "But we still have one person! One that cares deeply for us too!" (Y/n) said. "I feel confused almost all the time and I want to be someplace where I feel at home, sir..." Fran said. "I see... You two are very brave!" The tree said. "We just want to go home... Please, help us!" Fran said. "There are things I cannot do. But I will help you..." Ziar said. "I will lead you to the door that will take you home, but it's your own task to walk through it." The tree said. "Really? Oh, thank you so much! And... where is this door, sir?" Fran asked.

"We'll talk about that later! First things first... you must be able to talk and walk on this land!" Ziar said. "Yes, sir... That would be very great!" Fran said. "I'm afraid I won't be able to bring your human body back..." the tree said. "Only the Great Wizard can do that." The tree said. "Who? The great wizard of oz?" (Y/n) joked, and Fran snickered. "But we'll talk more about him after the procedure..." the tree said. "Say what now?" (Y/n) asked, suddenly worried. "You must first understand our language." Ziar said. "But... how will we ever understand your language?" Fran asked. "Eat this fruit." He grabbed a small yellow fruit and tossed it into Fran's mouth, then took out one more and threw it to (Y/n). "Your ears and tongue will be able to understand... But not your eyes. That means... you won't be able to read." (Y/n) looked at the fruit uncertainly, then eat the fruit he gave her. "Don't worry about that. We can always ask!" Fran said. "Excuse me. Do you understand what I say, humans?" Ryde asked. "Yes, we can clearly, carrot." (Y/n) said.

"Yes, I do! And you sound so kind! This is incredible! Did you understand, my kitty?" Fran asked. "I didn't! Your Highness, I demand one fruit for myself!" Mr. Midnight said. "You don't need the fruit, Mr. Midnight! Our land is based on fragrances and sound!" Ziar said. "You'll see everything as your own world very soon! No doubt about that!" Ziar said. "You'll do fine, kitty!" Fran said. "And... Sir? Do you know why sis became a tree?" (Y/n) asked. "Yes, but I don't think I'm the right one to give you the answers... Now... it's time for the procedure! Are you afraid of heights?" Ziar asked.

"A little, yes... I get dizzy... why?" Fran asked. "Take her upstairs, immediately!" Ziar said. "Wait, what?!" (Y/n) asked. A giant bug walked over. "Where are you taking me? What are you going to do to me...?" Fran asked. "To get some arms and legs! Everything will be fine!" Ziar said. "We'll be waiting for you, Fran! I love you!" Mr. Midnight said. The Beatle walked over and grabbed Fran. "Hey wait!" (Y/n) shouted. Then carried her out of the room. It dropped her off by an edge of a cliff, until a flying monster approached. "Good day! My name is Palontras, and I'm your doctor today! At your humble service! Are you the emergency case?" He said.

"Wow! Amazing! What a huge beautiful fluffy thing!" Fran said. "Excuse me?" Palontras asked. "Oh, I'm sorry... It's just that I've never seen anything like you before! I'm still trying to understand that all of this is real! My name is Fran! I'm a human girl... The King sent me here to get some arms and legs so I can go home!" Fran said. "Oh! A human...! I think we can get you a pair of arms and legs! But we'll have to travel a little bit further in order to fix that.. Are you ready to enter the paws of the beast?" Palontras said. "What beast?" Fran asked nervously. "Me... I'm the beast! Let's go!" Palontras grabbed Fran and flew off, then put her in some pink water on a floating cliff. "Here we are!"

He said. "Wow! This place is so beautiful and peaceful! I wish I could be here forever!" Fran said. "Thank you... this is my home! This is where I was born! The spirit of the Great Valokas created it! It has the purest water in the whole universe!" Palontras said. "Oh, wow! That sounds amazing! So when do I get my legs and arms back?" Fran asked. "Oh... right! We wait until the water purifies the curse! In the meantime, we can talk!" "Alright. Hmm... so, who is this Valokas?" Fran asked. "Haven't you heard about the Five Realities?" Palontras asked. "He is the king of the First Reality! A long time ago he was at war with the Darkness and one day he fell...

He fell so badly! His heart was broken, he was all alone! But he came to Ithersta! And his blood made this water pink... That is why it's so pure! It's a very long story..." He said. "Wow, that sounds grand! I mean... I didn't know about other realities!" Fran said. "And... How is it that you are here? What brought you to Ithersta?" Palontras asked. "My kitty, my sister and I were on our way back home... I was so happy to see him and hug him again! But then we fell..." Fran said. "The big monster that follows us did this! He broke the bridge, he wants us dead!" She said. "Who would like to see you dead? That sounds terrible!" Palontras said.

"I prefer not to talk about this!" Fran said. "...But, sir Doctor? Do you know why I became a tree?" She asked. "Yes! Sometimes our wishes are so strong that they become true! You did this in order to keep yourself alive! Think about it this way; Your human body was destroyed... but you wanted to keep being Fran! You wanted to keep your life! So you took on this empty shell to maintain all your precious memories with you. It is actually the first time I've seen a human using a tree as a chrysalis! But it's dangerous to have you here. It makes our land vulnerable!" He replied. "I did this to myself? Wow! But... Palontras, sir... How? I didn't know I was doing anything! And how come my sister didn't become a tree too?" She asked.

"You really didn't know what you were doing? I see. Well... When you traveled to Ithersta, you opened a door between your reality and ours. And with this door opened, unexpected creatures can also enter our reality! ...And if that happens, the balance will be tainted! As for your sister, I'm not sure why she remained human. There is only one who would like to poison the Second reality... The monster... The Terrible Black!" Palontras looked like he was about to cry. "I can't see this happening again... I just can't!" He said. "Don't be sad, doctor! I'm very sorry for what I did! I didn't mean to!" Fran said. "Oh, little girl! You are so nice! And you don't have anything to be sorry for!" He said. "I think you're very special," he rubbed his eyes.

"But let's concentrate on your arms and legs! Alright?" He asked. "Mmm... Yes, doctor..." Fran said. Palontras closed his eyes and spread his arms out. "Soldier of the sun. Spirit of the water. Give Fran her arms and legs!" Vines appeared around her, then she changed into more of a human form, despite still being a tree, along with arms and legs, and green leaves on the top of her head to resemble hair. "How do you feel, Fran from Ithersta?" Palontras asked. Fran lifted up her right hand. "Wow! I feel... like a beautiful tree! I have leaves!" She said. "I'm glad you like it! I told you we would fix it!"

Palontras said. "This water is magical! It can fix anything!" He said. "Anything...?" Fran asked. "Do you think it could fix our mommy and daddy...?" She asked. "What do you mean? Fix them? What's wrong with them?" Palontras asked. "Nothing, doctor... Thank you very much for helping me! You are the best doctor I've ever had! And you are fluffy and beautiful!" Fran said. "(Y/n) and I had another doctor before, his name was Dr. Deern, but he was an evil old man." Fran said. "An old man! Hmm... I bet he wasn't that bad! Maybe he was just following the rules!

Let's go now, I'll leave you at the station." Palontras said, then grabbed her and she rode on his head back to the cliff, then climbed off. "Here we are again! Show Ziar the King what a nice Itherstanise you've become!" He said. "Thank you again, doctor! You have to meet my sister and kitty someday!" Fran said. "That would be lovely! I'll see you soon!" Palontras said. ""Goodbye!" Fran said. Palontras flew off. "You fluffy kitty! Ah, do you like that? Haha!" Ziar asked as he pet Mr. Midnight. "(Y/n), make him stop!" Mr. Midnight shouted, and she snickered. "Here I am!" They quickly turn to see Fran. "Fran!" (Y/n) said, then quickly ran over. "Fran, my dear! You've got leaves on your head! How pretty!" Mr. Midnight said.

"Yeah, you look... different. It's a good different." (Y/n) added quickly. "Oh! Let me see you! What a great Itherstanise you've become!" Ziar said as they walked over to him. "Thank you, King Sir... The doctor is incredible! He made magic with the water! But he was sad... he told me many things, but I didn't quite understand." Fran said. "Don't worry! Palontras will be fine... I know the reasons. We have some problems to solve, but that's nothing you should worry about. Let's talk about how you can get back home! Right?" Ziar asked. "Yes, please!" Fran said. "You said something about a Great Wizard." (Y/n) said. "Yes! The Great Wizard is the only one who is able to bring her human body back!" Ziar said. "And, he has the stones that can open the door that will lead you two home!" He said. "And where do we find this Great Wizard?" (Y/n) asked. "The Great Wizard lives in the Great Mountain Kotrem! But we haven't see him for a while now... Find him, and everything will be just fine!"

"Why haven't you tried to find the Great Wizard yourself?" Fran asked. "Well we don't need to. It's very logical! You see, we don't need a wizard to perform magic or prepare potions. We can do that ourselves!" Ziar said. "You guys can do magic?" (Y/n) asked, sounding surprised. "Yes. The wizard's most valuable task is to protect the stones that open the door!" Ziar said. "I see... So the stones are like keys! And... where is this mountain you said?" Fran asked. "You'll have to ask around! Follow the signs.. I have to go now... But I'll be back in time to help you with the door." Palontras flew over. "Have a great Ithersta day, and good luck finding the Great Wizard!" Ziar said,

then walked over to the open window and climbed onto Palontras and he flew off. "Wow! Did you see that huge fluffy creature? That's Palontras! He fixed me!" Fran said. "Yes! It's certainly very fluffy!" Mr. Midnight said. "Oh, I forgot! Here's our purse!" (Y/n) said, then handed it to Fran. "Oh, thank you (Y/n)! Did you see our pills anywhere?" She asked, after looking through it. "I don't think so... Maybe they are on the other side of the lake! Next to your clothes." (Y/n) said. "Um... Well, we have other things to do anyways! We have to find the Wizard!" Fran said. "Yes! The King said something about a mountain, too!" Mr. Midnight said.

"Yes, Mountain Kotrem. The Great Wizard lives there! Let's go!" Fran said. "Should we sing the song?" (Y/n) asked. "We're off to see the wizard! The wonderful wizard of Oz!" She joked, and Fran laughed. They began walking out, then noticed a door, but the big beetle from before blocked the way. "No, no! You can't get in! It's closed!" He said. "Oh, closed? We didn't know! What's behind this passage?" Fran asked. "Well... The library, of course! But it's closed!" The beetle said. "Come back in fall or winter! Then, it will be open!" He said. He then recognized her. "Hey! Aren't you the talking tree I took to see Palontras?" He asked.

"Yes, that's me! Palontras gave me arms and legs!" Fran said. "Yes... and also a head! That's very positive!" The beetle said. "Hee hee, yes! ...But why is the library closed, sir?" Fran asked. "Well, that's logic! As the sun goes around the second moon of Ithersta, we open!" The beetle said. "Only then the real knowledge will be learned! And that only happens in fall and winter!" He said. "Oh! So you don't learn anything while you are in summer or spring?" Fran asked. "Of course we learn! We learn all the time." (Y/n) face palmed. "I think you're missing the point of her question." She said. "I'm learning now, that you like to ask many questions!" (Y/n) laughed.

"Well... I'm curious, that's why! Everything looks so different here in Ithersta!" Fran said. "I guess you are not from around here! Well... I hope to see you soon!" The beetle said. "Yes... Thank you, sir... Bye!" Fran waved. They walk out of the building, and see another beetle, a blue one, holding a weapon. Fran and (Y/n) walked over. "Hi." Fran waved. "Are you a guard?" She asked. "Yes." He replied. "Oh, I see... Do you know where the Mountain Kotrem is?" Fran asked. "Yes." He said again. "Can you tell us where it is?" (Y/n) asked. "Yes." "Well? Tell us, please!" Fran said. "Mmm... The Mountain Kotrem is only in wintertime!" The beetle said. "What does that even mean?" (Y/n) asked. "Mmm... Of course. Wintertime! What do you think?" The beetle asked. "But we can't wait for wintertime!" Fran said. "Oh... You don't wait for it! You go there!" The beetle said. "What did you just say?" (Y/n) asked in surprise. "Go? Oh... But, how?" Fran asked. "Argh! Sorry, but I'm no good explaining things." The beetle said.

"Evidently." (Y/n) said. "Go down the stairs and then straight." The beetle said. "You'll find a clockmaker... He can explain things... I think... He tried with me before." The beetle said. "Alright! Thank you, sir!" Fran said. They walked down the steps, and walked over to a map. They were in a beautiful woods with trees that had pink leaves, and a giant pinwheel was spinning in the distance. "All of these pinwheels here remind me of Teletubbies." (Y/n) said, and they walked into town, with multiple bugs and vegetables walking around.

"So, bugs and vegetables live together here? But what if some of them are vegetarian?" (Y/n) asked. "I highly doubt that's the case." Fran said. "What do you wanna bet that guy's selling over there?" (Y/n) pointed to a bug by a stand. "Let's find out." They walked over. "Hello!" Fran said. "Ah! Who is there...? Who?" The bug asked. "Can't you see us?" Fran asked. "Oh! Now... I see, a little. You guys have four eyes! Wow!" He said. (Y/n) tried not to laugh at that. "Four eyes? We don't have...

Er, what are you selling?" Fran asked. "Only the very best "plobbas" of this entire land! Do you want to smell it?" The bug asked. "Sure! They look like coconuts!" Fran said. "It's poo, miss... Poo that I collect. They are not coconuts." "Collect? So is it other people's poo or your own?" (Y/n) asked. "Poo? Like in the toilet? Wow, I thought it was really bad to eat poo." Fran said. "Actually, I have heard stories of people eating their own poo to survive." (Y/n) said. "Bad? Why? It's very yummy. We love it here. It makes everything grow and shine!" He said. (Y/n) looked disgusted. "Wait, are you saying..." (Y/n) shook her head. "No, no." She said in disgust. "Hee hee! I have to get going now. Good luck with the "plobbas"!" Fran said.

"Hello! I'm Fran! What are you doing?" Fran asked the tree next to him. "Good day! I'm Prooter and I'm molding this piece of iron!" He said. "What for?" (Y/n) asked. "I have to deliver a few clock pieces to the Clockmaker!" He said. "Oh, I see! So you can do all kind of metallic stuff?" Fran asked. "Sure! If you have some ideas, we can talk about them and PADAM! I do it!" Prooter said. "That's very good to know! Thank you, sir!"

Fran said. "Well, I have to keep working. But if you need my services, you know where I am." Prooter said. They walked over to the last shop, that was filled with thread and cloth. "Good! Thread and cloth to make stuff!" Fran said. "It's a good day for good fabric and thread! I am at your service!" The seller said. They saw three more shops as they kept walking. One was clock themed, another was selling vegetables, and a third one selling newspapers. "Hello! What are you doing?" Fran asked. "Hmmm... Working! On my clock!" "Oh, I see! ...Sir, do you know where we can find the Great Wizard?" Fran asked. "No, miss! I do clocks, I fix clocks, I listen to clocks! Tick-tock." He said. "Mm, and do you know where the Mountain Kotrem is?" Fran asked.

"The Mountain Kotrem only exists in wintertime. Otherwise it's just a regular mountain." He said. "We can't wait for winter! The King said that the Wizard would be in Mountain Kotrem!" Fran said. "You don't need to wait for winter to come, that's absurd! Time is an infinitely layered reality." He said. "Oh, a layered reality? That sounds great! What should we do then?" Fran asked. "Go to the big clock and change the season! Just... change it!" He said. "Where is this clock?" (Y/n) asked. "Well... go towards the castle, but turn to your left when you see the stairs! You'll find a big clock on the tree! Good luck!"

He said. "Thank you, sir! You are very nice! Bye." Fran said. They followed his instructions, and go to a weird looking tree with a clock on it. "This is a very odd clock... Where are the numbers?" Fran asked. "You're right. It has symbols and colors, but it doesn't seem to show the time." (Y/n) said. "Well, I guess the time works differently here in Ithersta!" Fran said. "Everything seems to work differently in Ithersta." (Y/n) said. (Y/n) walked over to the handle, and it squeaked as she tried to move it. "Oh! It sounds like something broke!" Fran said. The sisters go back to the man working on his clock.

"Sir? We had a little problem..." (Y/n) said. "Mmm... Yes? I don't have any.." he replied. "The big clock on the tree, it's broken. We can't make it work." (Y/n) said. "A broken clock! That's a disgrace! Poor clock!" He said. "Can you please help us fix it?" (Y/n) asked. "I never fix a clock for nothing. Otherwise, my life's time goes to waste!" The man said. "What do you mean?" (Y/n) asked. "I charge one big golden coin per clock! Time is gold, you know!" "Here, sir! Your golden coin!" (Y/n) took one out. "Oh! Yes, but you have to offer me the job first, alright? Do it, and be polite!" He said.

"Excuse me, kind sir, would you like to fix our clock?" (Y/n) asked, and Fran chuckled quietly. "In exchange for this piece of gold and in the name of, uh... time!" (Y/n) said, now Fran was laughing. "Of course! That was an incredible job offer! Very passionate." He said. The spider like tree crawled his way back and Fran and (Y/n) followed him back, where Mr. Midnight was waiting. He began to try and fix it. "Hmm... You were right! The clock is broken!" He said. "You can fix it, right?" Fran asked. "Of course! Just a second!" He said. Then the weather changed rapidly. First it was storming, then to winter, then back to the current season. "Hmm... Yes... Hmmm... Oh! There!" He said.

"What is it?" Fran asked. "It seems that somebody was playing a dirty game around this clock." He said. "What do you mean?" Fran asked. "I mean somebody broke it... It's immoral, breaking a defenseless clock! Argh!" He said. "Why would somebody break it?" (Y/n) asked. "Kamalas! Winter! Mountain Kotrem! The stones! Many reasons, miss!" He said. "Oh! What are you talking about? I don't understand..." Fran said. "Kamalas, the evil darkness! They work for Remor, The Terrible Black!

And Kamalas are the only ones allowed into this land... The only evil we have around! It wouldn't surprise me! Remor wants the stones... But what I don't understand is... ...For what purpose..? Those stones are meaningless for him and his kingdom! And the Stones are in wintertime..." he said. "Hang on. Is Remor a giant black monster with a goat mask and large horns? A... dead goat mask?" (Y/n) asked. "Yes... You know him?" He asked. "Yes... I think it's because of him we're in this land... we're humans, you know." Fran said. "Oh! Humans! Now I understand!" He said. "We also need the stones! They are our way back home! I hope it's not too late." Fran said. "Ah ha! That is why you need to go into wintertime and go to Mountain Kotrem!" He said.

"Yes! Exactly! We have to talk with the Great Wizard and borrow the stones." Fran said. "Hmm... Well, it's fixed now!" He said. "I'll give you something that will make it easy for you. Here..." he handed (Y/n) what looked like a mini clock, but instead of it being white with numbers on it, it had an arrow that could point to different colors. Green, yellow, orange and blue. "It's a remote control for the clock! You will be able to travel into all Four Seasons in just a quick turn! But, it's just a prototype... so it may not work if you are too far away. And remember, time is an infinite layered reality... So be careful!" He said.

"We'll be careful! Thank you very much! You're a very nice clockmaker guy!" Fran said. "Please, call me Cogwind!" Cogwind said. "Alright, Mr. Cogwind! I'm Fran, by the way! And this is my sister (Y/n). See you soon! Bye!" They walked through the forest, until they reached the top of the mountain. Once they do, they see a black creature fly by that looked like it was on fire. "Oh, sis! Kitty! Did you see that?! Did you?!" Fran asked. "Yes, my dear! I saw it! What was it?!" Mr. Midnight asked. "Huh... I..... I think it's the shadows! Oh, dear! I don't want to see them again!" Fran said. "Again?" Mr. Midnight asked. "Yes, kitty! They were all over the place in the hospital! I want to go home!" Fran said. "We will go home soon, my dear." Mr. Midnight said.

"Kitty? (Y/n)? ...Can you make me a promise? That whatever happens.. You and I will always be on the same side?" Fran asked. "Of course, my dear! I promise!" Mr. Midnight said. "Promise." (Y/n) said. "Great! Now, we have to keep on going!" Fran said. (Y/n) took out the control, and changed the weather until it was winter. (Y/n) shivered a little. "Guess I should have been more prepared." She said. They they find a cave on the other side and go in, then walked over to the tree man. "Oh! Are you the Great Wizard, Sir?" Fran asked, but he didn't answer. "Sorry, sir. I'm Fran, and this is my sister (Y/n), we need your help! Is this the Mountain Kotrem?" Fran asked, still no answer. "Excuse me? Can you talk?"

Fran asked. "You have too many questions. That's good!" He said. "Oh! Sorry, sir! The King told me you could help us." Fran said. "What the King says, we do!" He said. "Mm-hmm... we need you to lend me the Stones to open a door to our world!" Fran said. "The Stones are missing and I... I don't remember where they are! Everytime they seek, I hide! Everytime I hide, I forget. So they can't be found!" He said. "Oh... I see. But maybe we can help you find them!" Fran said. "I just want to know the biggest answer of them all!" The wizard said. "How does the rabbit do it?" He asked. "Huh?" (Y/n) asked.

"I saw it once, a human did it! The rabbit came from an empty hat! How?! This is the greatest question of them all! Because if nothing exists, then the "nothing" exists! But if the "nothing" exists, then there is no "nothing". The wizard said. "I wonder again! How!?" (Y/n) was trying not to laugh. "Why don't you ask the person who did it?" (Y/n) asked. "Oh, I have visitors! Good day! What brings you to the Great Wizard?" He asked, turning to face them. "Wait, did you seriously just now realize we were here?" (Y/n) asked in slight disbelief. "Good day, sir! The King sent us here for the Stones!" Fran said. "The Stones! Ah, it's been a long time since somebody came around asking for those!" The wizard said. "I made the most fantastic spell of all time so nobody could find them!" He said.

"You know, the black shadows... The Kamalas! They try to steal them all the time! So I have to be sure!" The wizard said. "But, sir! We need the Stones! This is not our home!" Fran said. "Hmm... The Stones are hiding..." he said. "I only remember the four riddles that are connected to the stones... Four riddles, that will unlock my memory!" He throws his hands in the air. "Only when all four riddles are answered correctly... I will be able to tell you where to find five items.

These "items" are the Stones in their layered reality! Then... The only one who can bring them back, is me! Let me show you!" He gets up from his chair and over to them, then stretches his hands out, until a pentagram appears on the floor. "This is the Star of Ithersta! Ohmka beh! The greatest Guide of the sky! The greatest Caretaker of this land!" He said. "And what do we have to do, sir? What are the riddles?" (Y/n) asked. "I'll give you the four riddles written down in the language of "Everything" The answer is always one item. The wizard said. Place the items on the Star of Ithersta... on their respective symbol... And after that, I'll be able to tell you where the stones are!" The wizard gives (Y/n) a piece of paper with the riddles, which are

"I'm cold as I am, but if you use me...
I'll be burning hard."
"I'm shiny as the sun but I'll never burn you. Perhaps a sour smile I'll get you."
"Flow, flow cold blooded son. Let your body dance through the rising stream."
"Light and hollow, I'm the freedom of birds and the pen of men."

"These riddles are a bit more... unnerving than I thought they'd be." (Y/n) chuckled nervously a little. "But I'm sure we'll manage." She said. "Oh! Thank you very much, sir Wizard!" Fran said. He began to walk back to his desk, and Fran followed. "Oh... Sir Wizard? The King told me that you could make me human again!" She asked. "Did he? Hmmm... I think that's true! I barely remember how to do it, though!" The wizard said. "You don't remember? But I can't go home like a tree!" Fran said. "I understand, but I can't help you right now! I have to recover some of my knowledge!

Perhaps we can try to make you a human again after you find the first stone!" He said. "Oh! That would be incredible!" Fran said. "Yes! Incredible and great!" The wizard said. "Just try to figure out the riddles and I guess everything will be fine!" He said. "Sir? Do I need something special to become a human?" Fran asked. "Hmm... I think the smell is very important... if I remember correctly." The wizard said. "So... bring me your clothes, and we'll see how it goes!" He said. "Can you explain the riddles again? I forgot what to do." (Y/n) said. "Just place the correct answers in the correct spot on the star of Ithersta!" The wizard said. "When you complete that, I can explain more to you!" The wizard said. "Now, the rabbit science is waiting for me!" He said.

They walked out, then into the snowy woods and stop suddenly once they see Palontras, but he looked very injured, and almost dead. "...Palontras? ....Sir?" Fran asked worriedly. "Is he okay?" (Y/n) asked. His eyes suddenly opened, then he quickly flew off, leaving behind a black feather. "Wait! Don't go! Oh... no! He looked really bad, sis!" Fran said. "Wasn't that the doctor? ...Maybe he can cure himself!" (Y/n) said. "I hope so, (Y/n)! He was so hurt that he lost his feather... I wonder what happened!" Fran said.

She took the feather and put it in her purse. (Y/n) took out the weather device and switched winter to fall. They spotted the basket where a bug from before had been collecting food. "Guys, I'm going to do something, so act natural!" She took the knife out from her purse, and sliced the basket. She then took the controller and switched the weather to summer and the bug was back, and lemons were filled inside despite the hole. One fell out as she picked it up, then put in her purse, and gave (Y/n) the controller back, and she changed the season back to summer. "Oh, I'd sure like to burrow that boat." Fran saw a vegetable on a boat not far off. (Y/n) changed the season again, and the boat was right next to the docks. "Oh! Look, sis, kitty! Get in the boat! We are going for a ride!" Fran said.

Mr. Midnight climbed in, then (Y/n), and Fran got in last. After the short ride, (Y/n) noticed something. "Hey look," they turned to see that he was looking at a fishing rod. They walked over and Fran put it in her purse. They walked past the tree, and into a snowy area with ghosts everywhere. "Come closer, Fran... I have the one thing you desire... I have what you are looking for..." a black ghost in the middle said. Suddenly a dead version of Fran's and (Y/n)'s mother appeared from its center. (Y/n) quickly stepped in front of Fran protectively, but she pushed her aside slightly. "Mommy? ...Is that you, Mommy...?" She asked. "My beloved daughters... Come closer... Let me feel you..." she said.

(Y/n) grabbed Fran's right arm protectively, glaring at the woman. "Mommy... I'm scared." Fran said. "There is nothing to be afraid of... You have to come closer, Fran... (Y/n)... I want to kiss you." The woman held her hands out. "But... You can't be our mother! She is dead!" Fran shouted. "You have to come closer, NOW! If you don't, the big monster will come and get you..." she said. "No! ... You are not our mommy!" Fran shouted. "Leave us alone!" (Y/n) shouted angrily.

"My darlings... the big monster will come and get you... He will come and get you..." she started swaying back and forth violently. "HE WILL COME AND GEEEEEEET YOUUUU!" (Y/n) pulled Fran close to him and hid her eyes from the terrible sight. "Mommy, you're scaring me! Mommy, stop it! Please!" Fran sobbed into (Y/n)'s shirt. Then the season changed again and the ghosts were gone. Fran was still sobbing. "It's okay, Fran. Shh, she's gone, they're gone." (Y/n) said softly. She gasped as she looked around and realized she was right, she rubbed her eyes. "You okay, sis?" (Y/n) asked worriedly. "Uh huh." She said.

They walked back into town where the shops were. "Sir, look! I found a fishing rod... but it's broken! Can you help us?" Fran asked. "Let me see! Something is missing... Have you seen the hook that goes with this rod?" Prooter asked as he looked at the fishing rod. "Huh..? You just said the exact same thing someone else did back in the hospital!" (Y/n) said. "Really? Who? What hospital..?" Prooter asked. "The Oswald Asylum! The nurse... when I broke the curtain!" (Y/n) said. "Oh... I have no idea of what you're talking about! You're quite strange.." "Well... let's forget about it! Can you please make me a hook for the fishing rod?" (Y/n) asked. "Yes. Let's do it! If you give me one coin,

I can give you half a hook! If you give me two coins, you'll get an entire working hook!" Prooter said. "We don't need half a hook! We need the whole thing!" (Y/n) said. "The whole thing will cost you three coins!" Prooter said. "One coin for half a hook and two for the working one... Deal?" Prooter asked. "Ugh, you're so complicated. Fine." (Y/n) said, as she gave him the money. "Wonderful, thank you! ...And here's your hook! I hope it works fine!" Prooter said as he gave (Y/n) the hook after she pays to have it fixed. "Thank you, sir! It's perfect! We have to go now! Bye!" Fran said. (Y/n) changed the season back to winter, and they see a bunch of white ghosts wearing masks. "Oh, wow! What are you..? You look like the fairies in our books!" Fran said. "The purest of feelings... The light of all material... We are Valokas!" They said.

"Oh! You are very shiny... and... you make me feel so happy... So very happy!" Fran said. One of the Valokas accidentally dropped their mask. "Look, creatures! One of the young Valokas will receive the shield!" One of them said. "OMBAGK MA! PEAMIL GRO! OMBAKG GRAHN!" They picked up the mask and they all stopped dancing. "Soldier of the sun. Creature from the soil. Fruit from the seed... Let the universe illuminate you with the truth and be free!" They began to walk away. "Huh? Where are you all going..?" (Y/n) asked. "We continue our paths to life! May freedom be with you... my friend." One of them said. "Sir! Or, Miss? Hmm... Can you do magical things?" Fran asked. "The universe is already doing magic all the time! You are full of magic yourselves!" She replied.

"But.. we wish to know things... And it's odd, I feel like you know everything!" Fran said. "We are the light... We are everywhere... What answers are you looking for?" The Valoka asked. "We want to know who killed our parents! And why is that big-" "The truth will come to those who seek. Your path towards truth is immense... You are living in a world that turns its back to you." The Valoka said. "You are both too fragile to face the truth just now... And too strong to let it go." She walked away. "But..." Fran began to cry. "Dear... Don't be sad... We have to keep on going!" Mr. Midnight said. "Yeah, besides, I'm sure we'll figure out all this eventually." (Y/n) said. Fran rubbed her eyes. "You're right..."

They walked back to the shops, and over to the shop with the thread and cloth. "Hello, miss! I'm wondering if you have some thread for fishing line! Do you?" Fran asked. "Fishing line? Thread? Yes yes, I have some! Do you want it?" She asked. "Ah ha! Yes, please! How much is it?" Fran asked. "Oh! I forgot to think about a price! You see... I've never sold anything before! ..But you know what? You can have it! I hope it makes you happy!" She said. "Oh, wow! Thank you, miss! I hope you settle some prices and sell something soon! Bye!" Fran said. They walked over to a river, where Fran put the two pieces together to make a fishing rod, then used it to catch some fish.

The group go back to The Wizard's place in the mountain, and (Y/n) changed the season back to winter with the weather controller before they walked in. They walked over to the pentagram, and Fran filled the corners one by one. First putting her lemon down, her dead fish, the black feather, and a set of matches. The wizard noticed it was done and walked over. "I smell victory! I smell delicious victory! Congratulations!" He said. "Thank you, sir! I'm ready! Let's bring the stones back!" Fran said. The wizard threw his hands up. "Hee hee! Yes! We'll start with the fire!" He created fire that goes under a cauldron. "Kotrem has awakened! Kotrem is alive! On the top of the mountain,

he will be waiting for you! He has my lovely wizard hat! Bring it to me!" He said. "Ah..? Your hat?" Fran asked. "Hee hee! Yes! The stones are hiding in my wizard tools! That's why I can't remember a thing! Haha!" The wizard said. "But now I'm remembering! Go to the top of the mountain and find Kotrem!" The wizard said. "..And come back when you have the hat! Then we can do the other things." The wizard said. "Alright, sir! We'll bring your hat!" Fran said. They leave the cave and walked up the steps to the top of the mountain. There, they see a mountain top sleeping, but is soon woken up. "Aaah! Who dares to wake me up?! Who?!" He demanded.

"Oh my goodness! You are alive! We're sorry to bother you, sir! I'm Fran! And this is my sister (Y/n)!" Fran said, and they smiled. "Fran...? (Y/n)...? I see.." he said. "I don't know what that means." (Y/n) face palmed. "Well... I don't really know what it means... It's just our names." Fran said. "Oh... Alright. Mine is Kotrem... Do you want to know why?" He asked. "Sure! Tell us!" Fran said.

"Kotrem means 'born in heaven'... I used to be a star!" Kotrem said. "And because I was born in space... It's very logical!" He said. "Oh, wow! I've never met a star in person! Nice to meet you!" Fran said. "Nice to meet you too, Fran... So? What brings you here?" Kotrem asked. "The Great Wizard told us to get the hat. So if you don't mind..." Fran said. "Hmm... I can't do that... I'm divorced!" Kotrem said. "What do you mean divorced? I just need the hat, sir, it's very important!" Fran said. "I can't! If I give you the hat, the entire land will suffer! You'll have to find another way to get home!" Kotrem said. "The King told us that there's no other way! Please, help us!" Fran shouted. "I told you... I can't. My wife left me... She was the one covering my top. If I take off the hat, my magma can erupt and kill everyone! Including you!" He said.

"Where is your wife now...? Maybe we can make her come back!" Fran said. "She... she decided that it was time for her to start her own island... So... she broke up with me. I didn't get the chance to ask her why... I miss her so much!" He said. "Oh... so, now she is her own island?" Fran asked. "Do you know where she is?" (Y/n) asked. "I think she's on the water... Otherwise I would very strongly feel her presence... But I don't... Ooooh! My love! My beloved wife!" He said. "We'll go and see if we can find her, alright?

Then you give us the hat!" Fran said. "Only if she comes back. Otherwise... you know what can happen." Kotrem said. "Can't we just put something else on top of your head?" (Y/n) asked. "Like a rock or something instead?" Fran asked. "No! I like this hat!" Kotrem shouted. "Alright, we'll be back." (Y/n) sighed. They left the mountain top, then spotted a ghost woman with many ghost children behind her. "I know you are all alone..." the woman said. "Let me be your mommy... Let me feed you. Come to my side..." the ghost woman said. "And you will have many new friends to play with." She said.

"We don't want you as our mommy! You look very scary and we don't like you!" Fran shouted. "Guys, who are you talking to?" Mr. Midnight asked, looking puzzled. "Huh? The woman standing..." the ghost woman and children disappeared. "Er... It's nothing." (Y/n) said. (Y/n) took out the controller and changed the season again. The boat was in front of them by the river, and the four get in and (Y/n) rowed the boat over to the small volcano in the water. "Hello? ...Miss? Wake up! We have a message for you!"

Fran said. "Oh, hello! Messengers? What a good day!" She said. "Yes, miss... we're the messengers... of love!" Fran said. "Love..? Oh! But you are not pink!" The volcano said. "Pink? No... I'm the brown and green love messenger!" Fran said. "Hmph! And do the messengers of love have something to share?" She asked. "Yes, of course! We're here in the name of love to bring you back to your husband!" Fran said. "No! He... made me very sad! Nobody has the right to make me sad!" The volcano said. "Well... Maybe he didn't mean to. What did he do?" (Y/n) asked. "He was so hot! And I fell in love with that! But lately, he was cold and boring... So I felt left aside. I cried so many times!" She said. "He used to grow a beautiful red flower, just for me! To show his love for me.." she said.

"But this year, nothing came up! And you know what? I am the one protecting him all the time! So I want some credit for that! That's all." She said. "But... Miss! If we find that flower for you, would you come back?" Fran asked. "I guess... But I have no hope. Besides, I'm the ruler of my own island now..." the volcano said. "We'll go and see if we can find the red flower! Do you know where it grows?" (Y/n) asked. "Always at the bottom! It's very different from all other flowers!" She replied.

"The bottom of what?" (Y/n) asked. "My husband's bottom, of course!" She shouted loudly, surprising them. "Bring it to me, and I shall return to him!" She said. They return to the dock and got out of the boat, then as they are walking back to the other mountain, they saw a flower that hasn't grown properly yet. "This flower sure is growing pretty slowly." Fran said. "Hey, wait a second." (Y/n) took out the controller and switched the season to spring, and a red flower was now there. "This must be the flower that we need!" (Y/n) said. (Y/n) walked over and took the flower. (Y/n) changed the season back to summer and they rode back to the volcano. "Miss! We found it! Look, look! The red flower!" Fran said.

"Oh, thank you so much! It looks so beautiful! You are indeed great messengers of love!" She said. "Thank you, miss! We should go back to your husband, right away! He really misses you!" Fran said. "I'll see you there, in wintertime!" She stood up and started walking through the water. They got off the boat and go back to the mountaintop, and (Y/n) changed the season back to winter, to see the two volcanos together. "Hee hee! It's very nice to see you two together!" Fran said.

"Now, I would like to have the hat, please!" Fran said. "Thank you so much! I'll never forget what you've done for us! Come on, my darling, climb on to the top!" Kotrem said, and (Y/n) picked her up and helped put her on the top. "And here's the hat! Thank you again!" (Y/n) took the hat and gave it to Fran. "Wow! Thank you, sir! I have to go and give the hat to the Great Wizard now! Bye!" Fran said. They went back to the wizard's cave in the mountain. "Here's your hat, sir!" Fran said. "Oh! My hat! I feel the knowledge flowing through my body! I feel happy!" He said. "So what's next?" (Y/n) asked. "The gift from the soil... The fruit!" They walked over to the pentagram, and the wizard casted a spell that made it glow, then lifted the lemon up. "The creation of selective random elements! So we can eat! ...Beautiful, isn't it?" He asked.

"Hee hee! Yes! It's incredible!" Fran said. "Yes! The fruit is talking to me now! It says that.... the book! My book of knowledge! It's... in the library! ...But, beware! The book may be hiding, so you have to be persistent and patient!" The wizard said. "Good, sir! We'll go to the library then!" Fran said. "Wait. There's a password you'll need to get inside. Let me think... Think! ...It must be something about how we learn..? Or... hmm... Ah! ...I

remember! The password is: 'Your basic senses are easily manipulated, shut them down before learning." The wizard said. "Oh! I'll try to remember that! What does it mean?" Fran asked. "It means that many times, we let our understanding be manipulated! We should always try to use our common sense. Nobody should ever tell you what to think or believe... Be hungry for knowledge and you'll find yourself in constant evolution! That will make you free to cherish every second of your life! Oh! I think it's very fun to think and learn! And being curious helps a lot!" The wizard said. "Thanks for the advice. We'll be going to the library now, to find your book." (Y/n) said.

As they walked back into the building where they met the king, they see a dark shadowy figure. "Do you remember, Fran? You are a murderer..." Fran and (Y/n) see two dead bodies of little girls beside the figure. "You are a nutty little girl!" He said. "Shut up! I don't know what you're talking about but I know she'd never do something like that!" (Y/n) snapped. "Nutty girls must be punished..." the figure said. "Wait, that voice..." (Y/n) said. The figure removed its dark cape and turned to face them,

revealing that is was Fran herself. "Do as I say... Do as I do, Fran..." she said. "Jump." She jumped off the ledge, and Fran began to cry. "I... I didn't want to kill them... I didn't want to!" She cried. "Wait, what're you talking about?" (Y/n) asked. "Back at that house with the two girls, I tricked them by switching spells on them. They wanted me to perform this dangerous ritual but the toad warned me I could die if I did, so I switched it up and gave them a different spell but it killed them." Fran explained. (Y/n) was shocked, but she didn't seem disappointed. "You tricked them?" (Y/n) asked, she sounded rather impressed. "So, you're not mad?" Fran asked, a little surprised.

"First of all, those girls were awful." (Y/n) said. "And they trapped me in their attic. So... I'm not mad at all." (Y/n) said. Fran was still a bit surprised, then giggled a little. They make their way to the library, and (Y/n) changed the season to fall. The beetle still blocked their way. "Stop right there! Do you have the password?" He asked. "Yes we do!" Fran said. "Yes? Alright! What is the password?" The beetle asked. "Let me remember the words! ...It was something like... 'Your eyes and ears are limited sensors, shut them down before learning..." Fran said. "I think that was pretty close to it." (Y/n) said. "Mmm, good! And why is that?" The beetle asked. "Because only then we can really... see? It's like this city! It was invisible to me before!" Fran said.

"Knowledge is everywhere, even in darkness and silence!" The beetle said. "...You can come inside! Have fun!" He let them in, and they walked inside the library. It was very small, with only three bookshelves with many books. "Hello!" Fran said to a carrot reading. "Oh, hello! Why aren't you reading?" He asked. "Oh... Because... we need to find a special book first!" Fran said. "And because we literally just got here." (Y/n) said. "Ah! Special books are very nice! This one I'm reading is also very special!" The carrot said. "Oh! That's great! Well, we'll keep searching for our special book then." Fran said. "How are we ever gonna find that book?" (Y/n) asked, looking at all of the books in the library. Let's just start looking, I guess." (Y/n) searched through a bookshelf. Fran walked over to a blue dragon fly on a ladder.

"Hello, sir! What are you doing?" Fran asked. "Ah! I'm looking for my special book!" He said. "Oh... Sorry to ask, but why are you standing on the ladder? You have wings!" Fran said. "Ah! Because the ladder was made to be used... Of course!" The dragon fly said, and (Y/n) snickered. "Can't discard that logic." She said. "But what if I need to use it?" Fran asked. "Then you should wait your turn!" The dragon fly said. "But what if it's an emergency and I can't wait that much?" Fran asked. "Then you should have arrived earlier than me! Sorry, but I have to keep looking!" The dragon fly said.

Fran noticed a puzzle near one of the bookshelves with odd symbols on it. She messed around with them for a bit, and managed to solve it, she pulled the lever and a song played, then a skeleton popped out holding a book. "Whoa!" (Y/n) nearly fell over in surprise. "You find something, sis?" (Y/n) asked. They see the skeleton holding the book, and (Y/n) grabbed it. "This must be it." She said. They walked back to the mountain. "Sir, here's your book! It was inside the musical box! I saw the doll!" Fran said, giving him the book. "Hee hee! The Itward lock... That sounds like fun! Thank you for the book!" He said. "This certainly makes me remember many things... Many, many things!" The wizard said. "And now what? There are two things left on the star!" Fran said.

"Yes! Fish in the water!" The wizard lifted the fish into the air. "Fish, fish swimming free! Go back little fish, go back home!" A hole in the middle of the pentagram opened, and water filled it, and the fish goes in. "Wow, sir! You woke up the fish!" Fran said. "Yes! Because I remembered how to do it! Isn't it beautiful?" The wizard asked. "That's magical, sir! Can you do that with other beings? ...Like humans?" Fran asked. "Of course, but only if the circumstances are positive! But the circumstances are often not positive."

The wizard said. "I see, sir..." Fran said sadly. "Hmmm... So we need to find the missing stones! Yes? The fish told me that my shoes are on the feet of the amazing dancer!" The wizard said. "Do you know where this dancer could be? ...I have no idea!" He said. "I think I know! I'll go and see!" Fran said, then they left the mountain. "Good day, little ladies! Can you show me your ticket, please?" A beetle asked as the group approached him guarding some of building. "Tickets? Tickets for what?" (Y/n) asked. "Hello, sir! We don't have a ticket; how can we get one?" Fran asked. "What? All Ithersta's citizens get a ticket! Why don't you have yours?" He asked.

"Oh, I'm not a citizen, sir... Maybe that's why!" Fran said. "Not a citizen?! That's new! Too new for me, though! Sorry little ladies, I can't let you in." The beetle said. "Alright, sir, I understand! But, what can we do then? We really would like to go inside!" Fran said. "I don't know! This never happened before!" The beetle said. "Hmm... I guess we'll have to find our own way to get inside. Thank you, bye!" Fran said. They got in the boat from before, and rode it back to where they had first met the strange creatures of this world. "Oh, Fran! This is where we were before! I fixed the bridge to get your purse!"

Mr. Midnight said. "Wow, kitty! You are very clever! I hope we find my things!" Fran said. They walked over to where her clothes are. "Kitty! I can't find our pills!" Fran panicked a little. "Maybe the pills are not here! Maybe you lost them!" Mr. Midnight said. "Well... They weren't doing us any good anyways!" Fran said. "Maybe they will appear someday! Let's keep going now!" Fran said. They go back to where they met Valokas. They saw a hut with a small hole in it. "Come on, kitty! Go inside! And remember, we need a ticket to get in, too... so maybe you could take somebody else's!" Fran said. "But I don't want to steal!" Mr. Midnight said. "We'll just borrow it, kitty! We can give it back later! Alright?" Fran asked. "Yeah, what's wrong with borrowing?" (Y/n) asked with a smirk.

"Mmm... Alright..." Mr. Midnight said, then took the season control and walked in. He switched seasons, and many bugs were now in the building. Mr. Midnight approached one. "Hello, lady? Can I borrow your ticket, please..? Because my ticket disappeared!" He said. "Oh... I can't... I'm using it as a "hick* coaster... Ahhh! This lemonade is very good!" She said. "Er... But why? You have a table to put the glass on!" Mr. Midnight said. "Ehhh... I don't like the sound of the *hick* glass against the table..." she said.

"I see. And you like this lemonade very much... Right?" Mr. Midnight asked. "Yes... *hick*... Ah... I drink it because... it's *hick* refreshing.." she said. "Now... If you'll... excuse me... I want to listen to the hick* ...music!" She said. "Oh! Of course... Goodbye!" As soon as a dancer appeared on stage, the bug drinking collapsed on the table, and Mr. Midnight stole the ticket. "I have the ticket! I have it!" Mr. Midnight said as he raced out. "You are incredible, kitty! I love you so much! Now we can go inside!" Fran said. (Y/n) changed the season again, and the beetle was back. "Look, sir! It seems that a ticket found a way to get into my hands!" Fran said.

"What?... Let me see it!... Mmmm... This can't be right! It just can't!" The beetle said in surprise as he took it. "I already let someone in with that ticket. You bring many mysteries, little ladies!" "Huh! But how can you know it was somebody else's ticket?" Fran asked. "The symbols are correct... But look at the handwriting! This belongs to someone much older than you! I can see it!" The beetle said. "Alright, then! Is there any chance we can get inside? I mean... is it possible?" Fran asked. "When you have your own ticket, little lady, you are more than welcome!" He said. Fran quickly took two things out of her purse, making her own ticket. Then she took it out to show him.

"Look, sir! I think this is my own ticket!" She said. "Hmm... Oh, I see. But you simply drew it yourself!" He said. "Yes. I thought it was the right thing to do... I wasn't invited, so I invited myself!" Fran said. "Very clever, little lady! Well, I guess I can let you go in! Enjoy the show!" The beetle said. "Wait, what about me? I don't have a ticket." (Y/n) said. "It's okay, you guys are with me." Fran said. They walked inside, and (Y/n) changed the season again, then the dancer showed up dancing and wearing the shoes the wizard mentioned. "There he is." (Y/n) said. They walked over. "Hello? Sir? We need your shoes!" Fran said, but he ignored her and kept dancing. "Why won't you answer me? Please!" Fran said. "He is concentrating, I think..." Mr. Midnight said. The bug started kicking his feet in the air, and (Y/n) was trying not to laugh. "Argh!" Fran said.

Out of anger, Fran snatched the season controller from (Y/n) and changed it, so it was empty. She noticed a door under the piano and went to open it. "Oh... This is a thermometer!" She said. "Or, was it called metrometer..?" Fran asked. She changed the settings on it, then closed the small door and changed it back to the current season. The bug began dancing wildly, then collapsed, with only his legs showing once the curtains closed. Fran walked over and took the shoes, putting them in her purse. They walked out and back to the mountain cave. "Sir! Sir! I have the shoes! They are very pretty, look!" Fran said. "Whoa! You did it! You really have an extraordinary machine inside your

head!" The wizard said. "Thank you, sir! Now, let's do the last one so we can go home!" Fran said. The wizard lifted the feather into the air. "The last one... Air! Hmm... I recognize this feather... It belongs to Palontras!" He said. "Yes... we saw him very injured!" Fran said. "Hmmm... He will be fine, he has the pink water! That can fix everything!" The wizard said. "Pink healing water?" (Y/n) asked. "Yes, it was very pretty. Well... what do we do with the feather?" Fran asked. "Hee hee. Go visit the old Valokas mechanical doll... My wand will be there." The wizard said. "I... I have to finish my rabbit science... I think I have the answer!" The wizard said. "Oh... Okay, sir! We'll bring your wand back!" Fran said. They went back to where they met the Valokas again. "I see the wand! Let's see how this works!" Fran saw it in the machine.

(Y/n) began pulling the levers, using them to move the hands on the machine, until the hands moved the wand to a reachable distance. Fran walked over and grabbed it. They walked back to the cave. "Here's your wand, sir Wizard!" Fran said as she approached him. "Oh, magnificent! Splendid! You did it!" He said. "Really? ...But where are the stones? Can we borrow them?" (Y/n) asked. "I can't lend you the stones! These stones are very, very special! What I can do is place the stones on the locks of the door! But you... You are the only ones who can turn the key and actually open the door.

Oh, I see! The King told me he would show us where the door is!" Fran said. "Ah! Then we should go and talk with him, don't you think? Hmmm... Wait, I suspect that you can't return home looking like a tree!" The wizard said. "Ya think?" (Y/n) asked. "Oh, I almost forgot! Yes, you're right! Can you bring my human body back?" Fran asked. "Yes, I can! This is exciting! I haven't done this in hundreds of years!" The wizard said. "Let's make a human, yes? Give me your clothing, I need to smell it!" "Uh... why?" (Y/n) asked. "Here, sir! My clothing!" Fran gave them to him. "Mmmm! Let me smell this... *Sniff* This can work! We will make a human!" The wizard said. "Oh! This is so exciting!" Fran said.

"Good! Now... go to the center of the Star of Ithersta." The wizard said. Fran walked into the middle. "..And think about your body... Your head.. your leg... and the other leg. And your arm... both of them... Now, concentrate!" The wizard threw his hands in the air, then the pentagram began to glow a blue color and Fran lifted up. "Randomly selected elements! Find your path to your true essence! Become Fran, the human! NOW!" Her body then began to rapidly change back and forth between her human self and her tree form, until becoming human again and collapsing. "FRAN!" (Y/n) quickly ran over to her. (Y/n) lifted her up slightly.

"What did you do?!" She demanded angrily. "...Are you alright?" The wizard asked Fran. "Uuuuuuuugh... ...What happened? Is it done?" Fran asked. (Y/n) helped her up. "Oh, wow! Thank you so much, sir! You really are a great Wizard!" Fran said. "Yes, that's my name! 'Great Wizard'... Because of the greatness!" "Hmmm... I think we have to go to the King now, so he can show us the door." Fran said. "Yes, I... I'll be right there. I have to finish something... I'll be there! Go now!" Once they walked back to the throne room, instead of the king, they see a girl holding a cat in her right hand. Wearing a pink dress, and some kind of animal skull crown. A knife was in her other hand. "Everything is fine... It feels like heaven..."

"What are you...? Leave Mr. Midnight alone!" Fran shouted. "Is your head playing with you again? Can't you see yourself in the mirror?" She asked. "I'm not you! I'm not! Let Mr.Midnight go, now!" Fran shouted. "We kill the traitors! Because that's what he is, Fran... Don't you see? Your sister is no different." She sneered. "They are not traitors! They promised me to be by my side! They promised!" Fran shouted. "As your mommy and daddy did? Who promised to take good care of you... Wake up, Fran. You are surrounded by traitors." The older Fran said.

"Leave me alone! Leave my friends alone!" Fran shouted. "I'm the only one you have, Fran... I'm the one who's always by your side... Now let's get rid of these traitors, eh? What do you say? ...Let's be happy! Let's be so very, very happy together!" The older Fran said, then stabbed Mr. Midnight and blood poured out of him. (Y/n) gasped. "Go away! ...Go away! It wasn't me!" Fran began to cry. "Fran." (Y/n) went to comfort her and hugged her. The terrible vision disappeared and Ziar walked in to see (Y/n) comforting Fran. "Fran? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" He asked. "...I'm crazy, sir! I'm totally crazy! The doctors were right!" Fran sobbed.

"But.. You're not crazy... I'm very sorry that you feel that way..." Ziar said. "Yeah, you're not crazy at all, Fran. I have been seeing everything you've been seeing, if that's any consolation." Fran peered up at (Y/n). "Probably not, but... I just thought maybe it'd help it all seem more real to you." (Y/n) said. "You should be happy now! You found the stones and you became human again!" Ziar said. "That is very great, indeed!" He said. "He's right. You should always try to look on the bright side of the situation." (Y/n) said. "My dear... Let me wipe those tears..." mr. Midnight said. "I don't want to hurt you guys... And I feel like I'm about to do it... at any moment!" Fran sobbed.

"You won't." (Y/n) said softly. "She's right. You won't... I know that! Because you love us!" Mr. Midnight said. "Yes, kitty... I do love you, very much!" Fran picked him up and hugged him. "Fran... Remember what I told you... If you love, you are alive! And that is the only thing that matters... You will always find the power to fight those monsters in you... Now, let's go and open the gate, so you can go home!" "Yes... Yes, let's do this!" Fran said. Fran releases Mr. Midnight and rubbed her eyes. They followed Ziar out of the throne room. "Here we are..." "Yes... but where is the door?" (Y/n) asked. "Oh, right! I have to make it visible. But... are you sure you want to go back?" Ziar asked. "I'm sure, Sir!" Fran said.

"Alright... Here we go!" Ziar said. "The humans must leave! Open the secret door into their reality! Let the humans return home!" He shouted. A door began to appear slightly. "Oh, wow! We are going home, sis, kitty!" Fran said. The wizard walked in. "Hohoho... Ziar the King! Good day to you! I brought the Stones, so these lovely creatures can go home!" He said. "Thank you, Sir! I'm very nervous! It will be strange to be far away from you all!" Fran said. "Then, don't leave! I can make you a place to stay! A very magical place!" The wizard said. "Wizard... they have to leave. I received a message from one of the Valokas... and they are not ready." Ziar said. "Oh I see." "What are you talking about..? Ready for what?" (Y/n) asked.

"Come on, Wizard! Place the stones, we have no time to lose!" Ziar said. "But, ready for what?" Fran asked. "You know, what the Valokas told you... about facing your truth." Ziar said. "Well... Should I?" The wizard asked. "Yes! Go ahead, Wizard, sir!" Fran said. "Magic Stones, create the Lock that only the Humans can break!" Five different colored stones appeared on the door. "Well... now it's time for Fran to be the key!" "Oh, wow! Alright... Let's see." Fran said. She walked over to the door, and connected the five stones, then the room began to shake. (Y/n) looked around. "Is this an earthquake?" (Y/n) asked. But soon the door opened to a blue a dark place. "I smell victory! ...Again!" The wizard raised his arms. "You did it, Fran! You can go home now!" Ziar said.

"I'm so excited!" Fran said. "Oh... I wish I could leave you something, so you can remember me..." the wizard said. "We won't forget you or your sister. You are very special creatures!" Ziar said. "Oh, I almost forgot! Palontras gave me this for you..." Ziar hands Fran a box, and she puts in her purse. "Oh, thank you! Tell Palontras that I wish I could help him with his wounds... (Y/n) gave our aid patches to a girl in the hospital... But anyway..." she said. "I'll tell him! And don't worry... Palontras is better now." Ziar said. "Oh, oh! Before you go... You must know! Before you return to your reality... you will go through the secret woods! The woods are a kind of invisible passage between our realities...

And... you may encounter terrible creatures that want to eat you. But just run, they are quite slow. "And you are telling us this now...? Huh... That sounds very scary!" Fran panicked. "Don't worry... You'll do fine..." "Hee hee... I hope so. Well, guys, say goodbye! Let's go now..." Fran said. "Goodbye, gentlemen. I had a great time!" Mr. Midnight said. "Goodbye, thanks for all your help." (Y/n) smiled at them. "I... I like you very much! Goodbye!" Fran said, then they climbed through the small door. Once they reached the other side, they instantly started running for their lives as a giant green beetle type monster with big hands chased them through the woods. They jumped over rocks, stones ledges, etc to get away, until they reached another door at the end.
