Chapter #5

Gold sits in an alcove, twiddling a piece of paper in his hands. Their thoughts seem to be swirling in his head as a tornado, screaming for attention. The Rouge pauses in his twirling. They then annoyingly rip the paper to shreds. Gold's eyes dim a little before brightening again. Their hood and glowing eyes still work well to cover their face.
Dropping out of the alcove, Gold's feet land on soft grass. It being nearly two in the morning, and the plain outside the city looks magical in the moonlight. It crosses Gold's mind that there would of been dangerous creatures lurking in the night, but that was a long time ago. Before the city wars, even. They suppose that most people still don't take strolls in the middle of the night.
Gold sighs before starting to walk back towards the gate. They don't have time to waste like the used to. The Rouge walks right up against the wall, out of sight from any patrolling soldiers. They even go as far as to keep their eyes facing the wall. Gold's smart enough not to be caught. Although the gate is heavily patrolled, all the soldiers watch the plains for approaching enemies and not the ones that have already approached. Gold strolls on past without anyone noticing.
The Rouge turns the corner of the wall and disappear from the soldier's line of sight. They quickly find what they're looking for; a group of rocks and slabs of stone sitting ten feet away from the wall. Gold glances at the wall before moving to one of the slabs. Now, these are pieces of rock almost as big as a person. They weigh too much for the average person to move. Gold isn't your average human. With a bit of huffing and a few cusses, they push one of the stone slabs far enough to reveal a tunnel dug underneath. They slip through and have to bend over to fit in the small space. Gold quickly moves through the passage and twords a light in the distance. They can't help but be frustrated at the reason why they're doing this whole thing. Everything will be ok soon, but the people just have to wait. Gold has a plan. They suppose that they could also use this in the plan, too.
The tunnel kept getting smaller until they were on their hands an knees. By the time Gold got to the crack of the light, their cloak was covered in dirt. This makes their mood even worse. Gold shoves all his weight against the stone in front of him, and it pops out of the wall almost immediately. They quickly crawl through the hole and pop up into a crouch on the other side. The small stone building has an iron door across from Gold, and another one to his left. Two guards jump back and point their spears at them. The guards are shocked at their appearance and glowing eyes. Gold's reputation isn't very contained.
The Rouge doesn't give the guards a chance to react. Their dual swords whip out of their sheaths and Gold leaps forward. They tackle the first guard to the ground, knocking them out with the pommel of his sword. The second guard lunges forwards and barely misses Gold. They react by swiftly stomping on the spear. The wooden pole snaps in half with the blow. The guard stumbles back and Gold continues the attack. They shove their weight into the guard, running them up against the wall. It knocks the wind out of them. Another swift hit with Gold's pommel finishes the job. They feel a little bad, but it's necessary.
Gold takes a pair of keys from the unconscious guard and unlocks the door to his right. It swings open and reveals a long hallway. They take out a sheet of paper and a pen from their pocket and start writing. Multiple people start realizing who's strolling through the prison. Some rattle the bars and yell for the Rouges attention. They don't stop until finding who they're looking for. They've never meant personally, but Gold's seen the Goldenwing before.
The key is twisting into the cell lock before the inhabitant even realizes it. A younger boy jumps up, eyes big with wonder and curiosity. He couldn't of been older than 16, with extremely bright blond hair and blue eyes. The white hoodie he wears has a chicken's crown on the hood. Gold opens the door and gently pulls the kid out.
"W-What? Gold?", he stutters. The Rouge's mood softens a bit as he hands the kid the paper he has been writing. It's written instructions to get out of the tunnel, a map to the next city, and another tunnel to a Goldwing safe house. Gold also wrote down some requests he has for them.
"You.... don't want us to fight?", he asks in confusion. Gold shakes his head and gestures back to the paper.
"A plan? And you want us to wait for your signal?", he reads Gold nods, and reaches out his hand. The kid hesitates before shaking his hand. Geez, it's not like Gold will bite. Still refusing the speak, the Rouge gestures to his eyes as if introducing himself.
"Oh, I'm Choco! Everyone will be so happy that we've heard from you, Gold", he smiles wide. Gold nods and hands Choco the keys to rescue the rest of the Goldwings. With that, the Rouge walks out of the prison to distract the guards on the walls.
