Alex's POV

I wake up on Thomas Pain's couch with my note book laying on my stomach. I guess lack of sleep finally got to me. I look around and see Thomas sleeping on an arm chair, Laf and Herc are curled up on the live seat, cute, and Burr is on the floor.

I go to get up but something snuggles close to my body. I look down to see John curled up next to me on the couch. I can feel myself blush as he starts to stir. He opens his eyes and gives a big yawn.

"Um, J-John," I say still blushing.

"Mm," he groans but then realizes he is cuddling with me and shoots up from his spot. "Alex! I'm so sorry I must have fallen asleep during the movie last night!"

"I-its ok Jo-" I get cut off.

"Could you two be any louder?" Groans Burr. John throws a pillow at him.

"Ok now I'm awake," Herc says grogily.

"Nooon!" Laf says pulling the pillow over his face. We decide to make breakfast after that.

We hear a phone go off and we all check ours. It was Thomas's phone, "I gotta go," he says.

"You going to meet Angelica?" Asks Laf.

"Uh, yeah, sure," he says. "Please lock up before you leave." With that he walks out of the dorm. After we finish breakfast we lock the door and leave.

John's POV

Alex, Aspen, Peggy, Eliza, and I are all walking around campus when I spot Jefferson's group and 'King' George's group a few yards away from each other.

"Aspen, Alex, keep your heads down." I tell my sister and friend.

"Well if it isn't little John Laurens!" Lee says from across the field and soon his whole group approaches us.

"Leave us alone, Lee," Peggy growls putting herself in between Aspen and Alex, and Jefferson's group.

"Aww what's the littlest faggot gonna do about it?" Reynalds scoffs.

"Wow! Very original!" Aspen cuts in sarcastically. Peggy and I look at her, surprised. My little sister, the sweetest girl you will ever know, stood up to Reynalds. He's a senior and she's a freshman and she didn't even flinch.

"Where's your girl friend, Jefferson?" Peggy asks Thomas, who isn't normally this quiet by the way.

"I... I don't know," Thomas says. Big scary Thomas Jefferson isn't being a duche for once.

"Well how about y'all just skidadal so we can be on our way!" Aspen growls.

"Aspen, your southern is showing," Peggy whispers to Aspen. They both laugh. That's when I see Reynalds balling up his fists. And being hit by James Reynalds is painful, like really painful. Mostly because he has a heavy set of rings on both hands. He is looking at Alex and my protective mode goes on.

"Now, you better watch yourself, Reynalds." I say in a low voice, "Because you touch him and you'll answer to me." He scoffs but walks away there group following him.

I turn to Alex and his face is pail. He looks really scared. He looks up at me and wraps his arms around my waist causing me to blush. I hug back and Aspen and Peggy are dying because they think we are cute.

Aspen clears her throat, "let's head back to the dorms." She says.

We walk back to Alex and mine's dorm. I hold his hand all the way there, he still looks so scared.

Angelica's POV

Eliza and I walk to the coffee shop just off campus. We get there and order some drinks. I listen to people talking and laughing, "your so amazing!" That sounded like Thomas, as in, my boyfriend Thomas. I look to the left of Eliza and sure enough there he is. Sitting with, Sally Hemmings? Then he kisses her from across the table and my heart shatters.

"T-Thomas?" He looks up from his kiss as does Hemmings.

"Angie! I can explain-" before he can say anything else I run out of the cafe in tears.

Alex's POV

We are sitting on the floor playing apples to apples when Peggy gets a text.

"I'll be back," she says, pure anger in her voice. "Gotta go kill Thomas!"

"Jefferson?" John asks as she gets up.

"Nope, Pain." With that she storms out.

John sighs, "I better go with her." He follows Peggy out the door.

A little later Aspen leaves.

[B]A few hours later

I am sitting on the couch when I see Aspen left her phone hear. I pick it up and walk out the door.

When I get to her dorm I don't knock and just walk in. "Hey, Aspen you forgot your-"

She turns to me and I see a small cut and a bruise on her face.
