Chapter 1: Finders

Third Person

"Kayleigh! Dinner!" Kayleigh's mom, Sadie yelled.

Sadie, or mom, is a house mom. However she has a job, she's a paralegal, who works from home. She's very family oriented and just loves her family so much. She would do anything for them, she actually cares. She's a good mom. Long brown hair and green ish hazel eyes.

It usually takes Kayleigh sometime to come down for dinner. She usually lies and says that she's doing homework, when in reality she's prepping herself. Putting a fake smile on, pretending like nothing is wrong. Her parents have no idea how depressed she really is. Her little brother Aidan, two years younger, might see her as sad, but assume it's just hormones. Still, he doesn't like to see his sister like that.

Kayleigh is taller for her grade, a sophomore. She has long brown hair, but recently cut it all off. Dark brown eyes and a really nice smile, if only she could get herself to smile more. If only she could tell someone how she felt. What she was feeling. But no one around her seems to understand. She'll say she's upset to her friends, but they usually just assume it's an easy fix. Kayleigh lies and pretends like her friends are cheering her up. It's actuall really sad.

She had a best friend in middle school, but once they hit high school, it's like Kayleigh was nothing to her. She dropped her so fast and is now on of the most popular sophomores, scratch that, high schoolers of her time. Missy Lynn, pretty tall but only because she wears heels, short black hair and dark brown eyes. She's labeled as a queen, a bitch, someone to not mess with. And apparently that's what Kayleigh did. Missy made it a mission to ruin her and her friend's lives. Missy's "friends" are Piper Fig, a freshman who just wants to be popular. Tall, long brown hair and dark brown eyes. Daisy Smoller, a junior chick with a bad attitude, tall with long black hair and dark brown eyes. Cole Huntly, sophomore, who's moral dilemma is which girl to hook up with next. Short brown hair and light brown eyes. Whenever the four see Kayleigh, they say some hurtful things. "Emo freak." "Kill yourself." "Burn in hell, loser." Just to name a few.

Kayleigh's friends are the ones who usually stick up for her. Fefe Lotis, a freshman, who's tough. Shorter with long dirty blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Ashley Morris, a senior who towers over everyone, a wise women. Tall, long brown hair and dark brown eyes. Jeremy Locust, a sophomore and Kayleigh's soulmate. Tall, short blonde hair and the brightest blue eyes on the planet. He's perfect, every single wanted him, but he only ever wanted Kayleigh. They had a cute love story going on. Average guy, meets lonely girl, who's always bullied. Maybe that could've been the story now.

"Aidan go get your sister." Sadie said making the table.

Aidan, who's always on his phone, just rolled his eyes. This is Kayleigh's little brother, they're really close actually. He's two years younger, but he's a freshman. He skipped a grade. Unlike his sister, he actually fits in and is pretty popular. But that doesn't stop him from sticking up for her. He has short black hair, dark brown eyes and is known for his freckles and great baseball skills. He got out of his chair, but was stopped by his dad.

Sebastian, better known as dad, is an average guy. He works in a business office, usually fools off at work, but still gets work done he's tall with short brown hair and dark brown eyes. "I got it this time, champ." For a while now, he's been suspecting something off about Kayleigh. She just seems different. But he has no idea what he's about to walk into.

He knocks on her door a few times and with no answer, he opens the door. The lights turned off, blinds closed, nothing on, no light. A little spooky. His hand searches for the light switch and once he finds it, let's just say it's not the only thing he finds. To his shock and worse nightmare, he's fixated on empty pill bottles on the floor and a huge fear to look up. He's trying to put logic into hand, what could happen, what reasonable explanation does he have for this scene? The conclusion he got to, he's sleeping. A bad dream. A bad dream he's not waking up from. No matter what he does. His head slowly turns to what appears to be a sleeping Kayleigh.

"Kayleigh, it's time for dinner." He slowly walks up to her bed.

Now over looking her, he sees that this bad dream has turned into a nightmare. Something he'll never be able to unsee. He covers his mouth with his hands and begins to tear up. He just can't believe it. "No." He says under his breath. "N-no. This isn't you."

"Sebastian! What's taking so long?" Sadie asks, walking up the stairs.

She walks into Kayleigh's room and is horrified. She shakes her head in disbelief. It just can't be real. She pulls out her phone, frantically to call 911.

911 what's your emergency?

My daughter, I-I think she's over dosing.

What did she take?

I don't know, a lot of stuff! Just get here!

A dispatcher is on they're way.

Both parents now freaking out, completely forgot about their son. Who walks into her room with his face in his phone, asking what's taking so long. Sebastian, grabs Aidan and pulls him out of the room. Trying to keep himself together and trying to explain what's going on, Sebastian seems to have lost his words.

"Go to your room, Aidan." He says with a shaky voice.

"Wait what about dinner? What's going on?"

"We're ordering take out, wait in your room."

Aidan, confused just goes to his room. He's not sure what's going on, but in his mind, he's getting take out. A few minutes go by and he hears sirens. He looks out his window and sees an ambulance outside his house, with medical people running in. He hears outside his door something about an overdose and Kayleigh's is thrown in. He quickly puts two and two together. And texts his closest friend/girlfriend or at least soon to be, to meet up with him. She texts back immediately and tells him to meet at the local park. A park where everyone meets at. The average hangout spot.
