3rd POV

Water is a fascinating thing, at least that's what Shoyo Hinata thinks, you need it to live but it could just as easily take away your life. People use it for pretty much everything, drinking, cooking, baking, cleaning, and some even like to swim in it. Hinata liked swimming alot too, maybe even as much as he enjoyed volleyball...well ok maybe not that much, volleyball is hard to beat. Hinata remembered once that he and Kageyama had competed to see who could hold there breath underwater the longest. Hinata had won. There was no one to compete with now though, so why was Hinata try so hard to stay underwater? He'd been under for a while now and had stopped holding his breath sometime ago yet he didn't feel like it was all that hard to breathe, he knew he needed to come up for air but it was pretty nice under the water, like all time had just stopped, like all his worries could just wash away. Hinata closed his eyes, he decided he would stay under just a little bit longer, that was, until he was harshly pulled from the water and into the freezing air.

"You dumbass! Why were you under so long?!" Kageyama yelled at the now confused spiker.

"What do you mean? I wasn't even under that long."

"I've been here for five minutes but who knows how long you were under before I came in! You idiot, I don't what's got you so distracted and out of it but drowning yourself is not gonna fix it."

"Wait no I wasn't trying to-"

"Shut up, go dry off and change into your clothes, the third years wanted to talk to us before we went to bed." Hinata wasn't trying to drown himself right? Sure he was a little down but nothing that serious, no he simply just didn't realize how long he'd been under. He would never try to drown himself or do anything of that sort.

The freak duo walked back to the room in silence. Kageyama glanced over and the spiker every couple of seconds as if he was going to disappear if he didn't keep an eye on him. Hinata noticed but decided not to say anything.

"Oh there you two are! What took you so long?" Sugawara said as they walked into the room. It was just the third years so Hinata assumed the others were down eating breakfast already, Hinata also wanted to eat breakfast but now he thought he might miss it.

"Hinata tried to drown himself in the bath." Kageyama said.

"Hinata what?!" Asahi freaked out a bit.

"I did not! Kageyama is just lying, I was just laying under the water." Hinata explained trying to convince the others and possibly still himself.

"He was under for at least five minutes before I pulled him out, dumbass."

"Stop calling me that every chance you get, anyway let's just go get breakfast, I'm starving."

"Wait I needed to tell you guys something but I forgot, hold on let me think." Suga said causing the two first years to pause and wait for a minute before slowly backing out of the room, neither if them were particularly interested in missing breakfast.

Before long setter and spiker had taken off in a race to see who could get to the dining hall the fastest. Kageyama won but only because Hinata tripped and fell on his face. "Hey you good? Your nose is bleeding." The setter pointed out checking on Hinata after he secured his win.

"I'm fine, I just need to go clean up I'll be back."

"Wait I'm coming with you."

"Why?"

"Well...what if you try to drown yourself in the bathtub again?"

"There isn't any tubs in the bathroom, plus I wasn't even trying to drown in there first place."

"Well what if you try to drown in the sink?" To be honest Kageyama really just would rather be with the spiker than anyone else but he would never admit that.

"I'm not even sure that's possible and again, not trying to drown."

"I'm coming with anyway just to make sure." The boys walked to the bathroom knowing full well at this point that they wouldn't make it to breakfast.

"Dumbass, your face is all bruised up now." Kageyama said as he help Hinata clean the blood off his face.

"I get hit in the face with the ball all the time, I'm used to it."

"Hah that's because your receives suck."

"Hey! I'm working on it."

"Well maybe I can help you practice them in between games."

"Yeah as long as we don't have to do laps." Kageyama was confused. We? Had nobody told Hinata he didn't get to play in the practice games.

"Um about that..." The setter trailed off. "I think this is what Suga meant to tell you earlier but the coach decided that you wouldn't be allowed to play in the rest of the games..."

"What?! Why not?!"

"Well he wants you to rest some more since you passed out yesterday."

"I'm fine now! Come on we gotta go beg coach to let me play!"
