Day Three - Don't Mess With Weasels
Prompt | Harvest
Ninjago
Probably some typos because I only did some editing. I'm tired and just ready to sleep. 😂
Also harvest is barely mentioned but whatever.

Emi pulled the pod from the ground, humming softly to herself as she bound them with the rest of the beans. She stood, brushing the dirt off of her dress and placed the beans into her basket and then hooked her arm through it. A rustle made the little girl pause and she brushed back her dark hair from her eyes to get a closer look. Slowly, a curious little nose stuck its way out from the plants.
"Kaki!" She said brightly, blinking at the ginger-furred creature. The weasel sniffed at her curiously. "There you are!"
"Hello." Kaki waved his tail at her.
The weasel tilted its head at her, his eyes closing slightly as if he was smiling before he wound around her legs and nosed at the basket.
"Sit." Kaki chattered insistently.
"No, you can't sit in there." Emi giggled, picking up the weasel with a smile. "You'd get it all dirty!" Kaki looked very disappointed but stayed out of the basket. His ears picked up and he stood, his head swivelling to look at something.
"EMI!" A male voice called. Emi quickly grabbed her basket and ran through the fields, Kaki at her heals
"I'm here!" Emi waved at him, her little boots making crunching noises in the earth as she stopped.
A tall young man frowned down at her, his eyes falling in Kaki. The weasel returned the unimpressed expression and bared his teeth.
"Stinky Human."
The boy hissed back immaturely before turning to Emi. "We should go inside, the neighbours said something was going on down the road and it didn't sound good."
Emi nodded. "Okay, Ty." Ty took the basket for her, slowly walking so that she would be able to keep up. Emi picked up Kaki and jogged after.
"You can't bring that thing with you," Ty hissed. "What if someone sees and starts asking questions?"
She pouted. "No one will see!"
Ty sighed. "If you see one of the other farmers tuck it in your sweater or something."
The little girl held the weasel tighter against her chest, whispering softly to the animal with a smile on her face. Ty rolled his eyes and kept his eyes peeled on the horizon, his brow furrowing when his gaze locked on a large moving silhouette. His hand moved to grab his little sister's shoulder, bringing her to a stop as he watched it move closer and closer.
"Ty..." Emi murmured uneasily, tightening her hold on Kaki. Ty watched as the large silhouette broke into multiple shapes, colours and details beginning to define themselves as it moved.
"Emi, head for the shed!" Ty ordered. Emi stared at him with a frightened expression but saw his serious expression and took off. She dropped Kaki so that he could run off to his place if he wanted but he kept pace with her.
"I stay." He said as they ran.
Ty quickly gathered some boards on the ground, abandoning the basket of crops and hoping he'd be able to use them to block the door of the shed. Unfortunately, he wasn't quick enough because the chaos suddenly landed right in front of him.
A red-figure dropped to the ground, their feet pressing into the earth as they tried to regain their balance. "Get out of the way!" They yelled.
What do you think I'm doing? Ty almost yelled back but he held his tongue and tried to go towards the shed again.
This time someone much more sinister stopped him. They wore all white, even their skin was deathly pale, except for their eyes which were a shock of brown. "Hello," the woman purred, a long, hooked blade sliding from its hilt. She swung and Ty tried to block it with the wooden board, only for it to be yanked from his hands.
"TY!" He spun around to see Emi running back towards him.
"Em- get back!" He shouted.
"Who is that," the woman tilted her head slowly, it was almost creepy how smooth her movements were, almost snakelike. "A little child?" She angled her blade towards Emi. Ty's heart jumped in his throat. He would've stupidly tackled her if it weren't for a jet of ice knocking the blade from her hand. The woman snarled, glaring at the newcomer with menace.
A hand grabbed his shoulder and Ty was startled when the lighting ninja appeared behind him. "We'll distract her! Go!"
Ty started again, watching as each of the ninjas exchanged blows with the mysterious woman. Ty almost fell over with relief when he saw a green shape leading Emi away. Ty quickly caught up to them, Emi stopped running so she could collide with his legs, sobbing.
"It's okay," Ty said in a hushed voice, holding her close. Her eyes met with the green ninja who was watching with his head to the side. "Who is that?"
"The White Lady," The Green Ninja informed him in a clipped, informative tone. "We'll try and direct the fight away from your land."
They all jumped when a blue shape went flying past, crashing into the flimsy walls of the shed like it was paper. The Green Ninja drew his sword, pushing Ty and Emi back as The White Lady floated over. The rest of the ninja were strewn around the bean fields.
The Green Ninja cursed, deciding the sword wasn't the way to go and sheathed it. Instead, he raised his palms, moving his body expertly into a series of forms, green energy swirling around him.
"Give up, Lloyd Garmadon." The White Lady said a little too sweetly for what she was saying. "I just want your soul."
"Oh my god lady! We're not giving you our souls!" One of the ninja, the red one, yelled from the other side of the field. She lazily threw an arm his way and a white light sent the fire ninja rolling down a hill.
Ty pulled Emi close, wrapping his body around her protectively and tugging her backwards. Emi didn't seem to notice and pulled a little at his grip, glaring at the woman fiercely.
"Go away, poop-head!" She shouted at her.
The White Lady looked taken aback at the ten-year-old's outburst. Lloyd took that opportunity to shoot a blast of green power at her. The White Lady's surprised expression cleared and she easily caught the energy, rolling it in her hands, making movements that Ty didn't even know were possible until the emerald colour had turned a ghostly white.
"You won't be so brave, darling," the White Lady winked at Emi, making Ty snarl. "When I take your soul."
Then she released the magic. All Ty saw was white, he shoved Emi down, squeezing his eyes shut and praying to the First Spinjitzu master that she would be okay. There was a yell and he looked up to see Lloyd crumpled on the ground. His mouth open in a soundless scream as his eyes glowed a bright white. Something nauseating rolled in his stomach as he watched the White Lady start to pull the soul from his body.
There was a loud yell.
And suddenly Ty was aware of the lack of Emi beneath him.
"GO AWAY!"
Ty stared in horror as his little sister stood defiantly against the villain. Her arms up and cupping her mouth, her words were deep and growling, accents weaving through the sound as it radiated into the air. The White Lady raised an eyebrow.
"Should I be scared?"
And then there was a rustle. The White Lady slowly turned around, her grip dripping on Lloyd causing his soul to tug back into him, making him cough and wretch, and she looked to see millions of ginger furred creatures staring emotionlessly at her.
"What is this?" The White Lady curled her lip. "Little vermin?"
Emi rasped out something that Ty couldn't understand. It was a combination of deep rumbled and clicks. Ty watched in fascination as all the weasels slowly stood up. Each taking some mung beans in their paws and then chucking them at the woman.
The White Lady shrieked that it burned her. Hissing unpleasant words under her breath as they all pelted her with vegetables. "Wretched rats!" She screeched.
Emi narrowed her eyes. Something dangerous in the little girl's eyes as she spoke a single click of her tongue. There was a scream as Ty watched her disappear under a pile of ginger fur.
