talk to me, boy ☕🥛
*inspired by the club scene from Episode 1, Season 2*
Plot summary: Five has been ignoring Y/N's calls, and she soon finds out why.
Winter season had just begun. Y/N was exhausted from quite a rough day at her part-time work, and figured she needed to relax a bit before heading back home.
She decided to stop by the closest bar to get a few drinks and clear her mind off certain things. As she parked her car, she pulled out her phone and thought of inviting some company.
Y/N tried calling her close friend, Five, but for some reason, he hasn't been answering his phone. In fact, he hasn't been taking her calls for over a week now.
Rolling her eyes, she shoved her phone back in her pocket.
"What could he be possibly doing now?" She muttered to herself, watching as cold air escaped from her lips as she talked.
As soon as she entered the bar, loud music and chatter filled her ears. The smell of alcohol mixed with the various scents of perfume in the air, and it was enough to make Y/N internally gag.
"A margarita, please." She told the bartender who gave her a slight nod and began preparing her order. As she waited, Y/N scanned the bar for any familiar faces. That was she saw her friend, Autumn , who works as a waitress-entertainer.
"Hey, Y/N! What brings you here on a Tuesday, hmm?" Autumn greeted, hugging her friend after setting a tray of empty glasses down.
Y/N chuckled. "Rough day at the resto earlier. Just wanted to let off a little steam." she answered.
Autumn nodded while grinning. "Well, you've come to the right place. Plenty of eligible bachelors here - and even sugar daddies." she added with a wink.
Y/N playfully smacked her friend. "I'm not here to get laid, Autumn. I just want my- oh, here it is. Thank you." she was cut off by the bartender sliding her the margarita.
Her friend gave her a look of incredulity. "Really, Y/N? A margarita?" Y/N looked at her innocently. "What? I like margaritas."
Autumn scoffed. "Hey, Andy." The bartender looked up. "Give her something stronger, will ya?"
It was Y/N's turn to roll her eyes. Her friend knew her pretty damn well.
"Hey, remember a few weeks back when the bouncer stopped you from entering because you looked like a minor?" her blonde friend suddenly piped up, making Y/N hum in response.
"Well, same thing happened to that young fella over there. I have a feeling you'll get along. He looks kinda cute, by the wat." Autumn added, pointing to a young man seated by the stage who was intently watching the female dancer in a sparkling outfit, similar to what Autumn had on, but in the shade of red.
Y/N squinted her eyes to see better as she sipped on her margarita. Something about his hair seemed oddly familiar.
"Yea? Why is that?" she asked. The blonde bombshell chuckled.
"I dunno. He seems brooding and mysterious... definitely your type of guy." Autumn uttered.
As Y/N was just about to approach the mystery man, she was stopped by her friend. "Mind you, though. He seems to be a bit of a flirt... asking me what time I get off work and all that." she continued, giggling at the memory.
Y/N cocked an eyebrow. "What's he wearing?"
The waitress thought about it for a moment. "I don't really know. Looks like a school uniform or something."
Y/N's jaw dropped slightly, and her gaze was fixed on the young lad. Autumn noticed this and asked her if anything was wrong.
"No, not yet." Y/N replied, setting her glass down with a thud. She stood up and made her way towards the stage, her eyes still set on the young man.
"That bastard." she said through gritted teeth as she came nearer and nearer. Taking a deep breath, she leaned down next to him.
Five raised his empty glass and said, "How may I help you, honey?" His eyes never let the female entertainer.
"For starters, answering my calls would be nice... thank you very much." Y/N whispered through gritted teeth. Five tensed up and slowly turned his head around to find his friend looking pissed off.
Oh, if looks could kill.
"Y/N." Five muttered softly, obviously suprised at her presence. Y/N didn't move a muscle.
"What are you doing here?" the boy asked, putting his whiskey glass down. Y/N crossed her arms. "I could ask you the same thing."
"I was waiting for Luther. I got wind of how his boss frequents this place, so I came here wanting to talk to him." Five explained with all honesty. Y/N still wasn't pleased.
"Still doesn't erase the fact that you've been ignoring my calls for the past week." Five opened his mouth to talk, but Y/N interrupted him. "You know, if you're trying to avoid me, at least give me a reason why."
Five sighed. "Y/N, I'm not trying to avoid you. You know why I've been busy-"
"Yeah, right. Of course. Your stupid excuse as always: the damn apocalypse." she said in an exasperated manner. "You know, I came here to relax. But you just managed to piss me off even further. Have fun with the scarlet b*tch, by the way."
With that, she turned on her heel and swiftly left the scene. She tossed the bartender her payment and exited the bar, not bothering to look for Autumn.
When she reached her car, the sound of a portal opening caught her attention. Before she could fully face him, Five had spun her around.
However, instead of an apologetic look like Y/N had expected, Five was smirking at her.
"What the hell are you looking at me like that for-"
"Did anyone tell you how adorable uou look when you get jealous?" he inquired with a look of amusement.
Y/N couldn't believe what she was hearing. She scoffed and replied, "What makes you think I was?"
Five shrugged, but still with a smirk on his lips. "I don't think it - I know it."
"Why else would you be mad to see me watching that lady dance on the stage?" Five persisted.
"Who said I was mad about that? I couldn't care less who you undress with your eyes." Y/N snapped back. Five raised an eyebrow.
"Well, you seem pretty mad."
"Am not." Y/N responded.
"Are too."
"Am not."
"Are too."
Y/N shook her head in disbelief, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I don't have time for you, Hargreeves." She unlocked her car and opened the door, but Five had pushed it shut.
The young lady's breath was hitched in her truth. Why did that simple action make her feel butterflies in her stomach?
"Well, then make time. You're the one who's been calling to talk to me, right?"
It was only then that she realized the Five's hand was still on the door, and that his body was extremely close to her own. His breath was practically fanning her ear with every word he spoke, and Y/N suddenly felt conscious of herself.
Slowly, she turned around to face him. This proved to be a bad idea, as his face was now only inches from hers. Five's grin only grew wider at the sight of her face.
"Nice to know I have that effect on you, Y/L/N." Five broke the silence, his voice getting huskier by the moment. Y/N swallowed a bit, and sweat beads started to form on her head.
What the heck was happening to her?
"Shut the hell up, Five. I don't like you in that way." Y/N retorted, mustering up a serious expression. Five tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
"Really? Oh, that's a shame."
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Why is that?"
Five smiled before clearing his throat. "Because I do."
Y/N could feel the breath being knocked out of her as she comprehended his words. She blinked several times, trying to decipher whether he was bluffing or not.
He didn't seem to be.
"I..." she trailed off. Five's gaze flickered from her eyes to her lips, and Y/N found herself doing the same.
He looked at her before leaning in, muttering a "May I?", to which Y/N responded to with a soft nod.
As soon as their lips met, it was heaven. The way Five enveloped her in his arms was enough to make Y/N melt like butter. Her hands ran through his hair, entangling his locks in her fingers.
When they finally pulled away, both had sh*t-eating grins on their faces.
"Okay, fine. I was a little bit jealous." Y/N said, barely above a whisper. Five laughed and leaned back down to meet her lips with his own.
"It's cold out here, huh?" Five muttered as he pulled away slightly. Y/N nodded, leaning closer to him for warmth.
The young man teleported them both to the back of her car, a mischievous look in his face.
"Why don't we get a little warm?"
