leave me alone ☕🥛
Plot summary: Five's usual snide remarks backfire on him when Y/N decides to give him a taste of his own medicine.
"Morning, Allison, Vanya, Diego, Luther , Klaus and Ben." Y/N said in an unusually chirpy manner as she entered the dining room. All the Hargreeves siblings greeted her back, except the one she left out.
"You greeted Ben but you didn't greet Five?" Klaus asked curiously. All eyes were back on her, but Five was biting back a smile. Y/N pretended she didn't understand what Klaus just said, shooting him an overly-sweet smile as she rummaged the fridge. "Who?"
Klaus stopped chewing but didn't push the topic. Diego and Luther exchanged glances, and gave Five a look that asked 'what did you do this time?'. The young boy rolled his eyes and avoided their gaze, munching on his peanut butter-marshmallow sandwich.
Naturally, Y/N sat beside Five at the dinner table. But being the stubborn young lady she was, she decided to sinply stand by the kitchen island and watch them eat as she chugged on her glass of milk.
"Y/N, aren't you going to eat? There's bagels here and-" Allison piped up, but was cut off by Y/N waving her hand. "I'm fine, thanks." she replied, still with an exaggerated smile gracing her face.
Allison seemed to get the message as her eyes flickered to Five then back to Y/N. Her eyes formed an 'o' shape, and she nodded in understanding.
Y/N walked to where she usually sat, and Five thought she was finally going to sit down and join them. But alas, she merely grabbed a piece of toast and whipped around. Five couldn't help but smirk lightly at her actions.
"I'll be in my room if you need me." Y/N called out as her voice faded in the distance.
As soon as Y/N was out of earshot, the rest of the Hargreeves focused their attention on Five, who still had that sh*t-eating grin on his face.
"Do you mind telling us what's going on with you and Y/N?" Diego inquired, popping a tart in his mouth.
Five breathed heavily. "Yes, I do mind." he spoke as he raised an eyebrow at his brother. Diego glared at him.
"Five, what did you do?" Allison asked, crossing her arms. Five groaned and set his spoon down quite harshly.
"Why is it that you all assume that I'm the one at fault, hmm?" he asked in an unamused expression.
"Uh, because you always are?" Luther responded sassily and Klaus burst out laughing. As soon as he saw Five's death glare, however, he instantly shut up.
"Y/N wouldn't act like that if you haven't done something, Five." Vanya added in a soft voice. Ben nodded in agreement as he pursed his lips.
"Spill it." Allison pressed, narrowing her eyes at him. "Or I'll rumor you to do so."
Five challenged her with a stare. "As if."
But Allison wasn't bluffing. It was her turn to smirk. "I heard a rumor..."
"Okay fine, geez. I didn't think you'd actually do it." Five sighed in defeat, rolling his eyes at his sister. The others leaned forward in anticipation of his narration of events.
"I may or may not have told her to leave me alone while I was finishing my computations."
A bunch of groans and faces contorted in disappointment were directed towards Five. The boy's eyebrows met in irritation. "What?"
"Did you really have to sass her? She was probably just being nice." Allison said, sipping on the straw of her orange juice. Vanya hummed in agreement.
"I didn't do it intentionally, alright?" Five stated defensively. "I was fed up of how many errors I've been making that I accidentally snapped at her."
"Hmm, but you shouldn't have." Klaus muttered disapprovingly, tilting his beer bottle upwards as he drank its contents.
"She'll come around. It's Y/N, for crying out loud." Five replied nonchalantly. He stood up from his chair but was pushed back down abruptly by his 6-foot tall brother.
Five gave him a dirty look he met his gaze. With the best murderous smile he could muster, he barked, "Touch me again and I'll break your arm in half."
Luther blinked a few times and looked to his siblings for some backup before withdrawing his hand from Five's shoulder, making Allison scoff and Diego snicker.
"Look, Five. That's not how that works." Vanya uttered all of a sudden.
"Do elaborate." Five asked bitterly.
"Whatever you two have going on." she shrugged, responding matter-of-factly. Klaus hummed at her statement, which made Five scoff.
"Nothing's going on between us."
"Liar." Diego yelled, making Grace turn her head in his direction. She was about to walk over when Diego quickly assured her that everything was okay.
Five gave them a tight-lipped smile and drank his remaining coffee. As he set his mug down, he crossed his arms. "Okay, let's say we have something going on." he began, a homicidal look still plastered on his face as he stared each of them down.
"What do you suggest I do?" he continued.
"Apologize." the Hargreeves answered in unison, all with stern expressions. Slightly impressed, Five huffed loudly. "I told you, it isn't much of a big deal- ow!" Diego had just grazed his ear with his pocket knife.
"This may not come as a surprise to you, but Five? You're a little sh*t." Diego sneered. "Touché, Diego." Five snapped back through gritted teeth as he touched the spot that bled.
"Y/N's the only one decent enough to put up with you, and she's not even our sister!" Allison exclaimed.
When Five didn't respond to any more of their reprimands, the Hargreeves decided to leave him at the table. "Really?" he asked incredulously while his mouth was full.
"You fix your thing with Y/N. We mean it." Klaus remarked, a judgemental look on his face. The young boy sighed in defeat, took one last bite of his sandwich, and got up from the table, as well.
Five walked around the halls trying to find Y/N. He placed his hands at his back as he strolled along, admiring the paintings, vases and figurines that decorated the corridors of the mansion.
He took a peek at her room, only to find it empty. Confused, he continued looking around until he found her in the kitchen area downstairs, seemingly distraught at something.
Y/N noticed movement from the corner of her eye, but couldn't determine who it was. Assuming it was Klaus, her mood suddenly changed into a much cheerful one, pretending to read the magazine in her hand.
"Hey, Klaus. Watcha up to?" she asked without looking at the person.
Five chuckled to himself. Breathing heavily, he responded, "Trying to get you to talk to me."
Y/N froze as she flipped the page she was on, and her enthusiastic expression transformed into one of resentment. Noticeably disappointed at the unwelcome company, she slammed the magazine shut and stood up. She turned on her heel to the cupboards, perhaps to find something to ease her nerves.
Five watched as she did this, certainly entertained at how good she was at not breaking character. He took small strides towards her until he finally stopped right behind her.
Sensing his presence, Y/N closed the cupboard doors hard and left in a rush, only to be blocked by Five using his teleportation powers.
Without looking at him, she inquired, "What the hell do you want?" Five tried meeting her gaze, but she continued averting her eyes from him.
"I came here to apologize, but you keep ignoring me." he replied softly, his tone hopeful but his face stayed blank. Y/N scoffed. "You told me to leave you alone, a**hole."
She attempted to push right through, but the scrawny boy had some strength to boast. Grunting, she added, "You can go back to Klaus and Allison and tell them I would rather chew off my own foot than talk to you."
Five didn't understand why, but the brutality of her words made his insides break into a frenzy. He found himself smiling at her snide remarks towards him.
What a psycho he was, indeed.
Y/N yanked her arm away from Five, successfully getting out his grasp. Without another word, she sidestepped him. Yet, her path was blocked once more by the teleporting devil.
"Move." she said, this time with anger seething from her tone. Her gaze was purely homicidal at this point, and anyone in the right mind would automatically move out of their way.
But Five wasn't in his right mind.
Instead, to piss her off even further, he stepped closer to her with a challenging smile on his face. Y/N assumed he was mocking her.
"I was wrong, all right?" Five began, and Y/N put her hands on her hips. "It was wrong of me to snap at you like that, I know. That's why I'm here, Y/N, to apologize-"
"Bullsh*t. You're always mean to me." Y/N hissed with narrowed eyes. "Just admit that they put you up to this because let's face it Five, you're not the type to acknowledge what you've done wrong."
Tears were starting to well up in her eyes, and Five's own eyes began to widen. His smirk faded and was replaced with a frown.
Five knew he f**ked up this time, and he was now desperate than ever to fix his "thing" with Y/N. Whether he would admit it or not, he cared about how she felt despite being an utter failure at actually showing it.
"Y/N, I'm being serious here. I really am sorry." Five continued in the most genuine way he could to make her believe his words. But Y/N opted to shut him out, and huffed in anger as a warning for him to stop talking.
A bright blue light flashed all of a sudden, and when she looked around, Five had already gone. But Y/N knew how persistent he could be - he would possibly reappear somewhere to stop her from walking away.
Wanting to outsmart the bastard, she made a 180° turn so that she wouldn't bump into him again. But that decision proved to be abysmal as the same blue light flashed again and the boy appeared directly in front of her.
Surprised, Y/N stumbled into him which sent them both falling to the floor. Luckily, Five's reflexes were faster, and he teleported them to break their fall.
Y/N landed on him with a thud, and the gravity must've been too intense, because the next thing she knew, she landed face-first to Five's own face.
And she accidentally pecked him on the lips.
Both were wide-eyed, typically frozen in place. Five even touched his lips, undoubtedly in awe of what just happened. Y/N struggled to form a coherent sentence, but she was just as speechless as he was.
The funny thing was neither of them pulled away. They simply stayed in that awkward position, their eyes boring into each other's skull. Five's gaze flickered from her eyes to her lips, and Y/N felt herself unconsciously doing the same.
The silence was becoming unbearable, so Five took the opportunity to lift his head up and capture Y/N's lips in his own, leaving the latter breathless. The unspoken feelings they harbored for each other finally manifested in that one sweet kiss, and both couldn't be anymore satisfied that the sexual tension had ultimately dissipated.
When they did pull away, the look of hostility on Y/N's face was replaced by one of adoration, and so was Five's.
"I'm sorry." he breathed out, caressing her cheek with his thumb. Y/N subconsciously leaned into his touch, making Five's lips curve upwards. "I'm sorry, too." was Y/N's reply.
Both were full-on grinning right now, and they leaned back in for another kiss. Before their lips connected, Y/N muttered "You could at least try being less mean to me, by now."
Five snickered but nodded. He tucked a stray strand of hair behind Y/N's ear. "I promise."
But their tender moment had to be ruined by Luther and Diego showing up.
"About damn time, you two." Diego remarked with satisfaction, tossing his pocket knife in the air repeatedly. Luther hummed in agreement. "But get a room, geez. You're in the kitchen, for heaven's sake. Pogo could see you."
A blushing mess, Five enveloped the both of them in bright blue light, and in a few seconds, they were in Five's own room. Y/N was startled, but definitely enjoying where this was heading.
"Now, where were we?"
