But is He?

That paranoid feeling lingering in the back of her mind never seems to leave her. Now it seems to be a constant part of her life. She watched her father get flattened, but it didn't put her at ease. He's dead, but is he really? They got back to base with the others. The reprimanding from Dreadwing did nothing to make her feel better. She barely recognized that he was yelling at her. Her mind being elsewhere. She watched the fake bot land on her father, but she had a feeling it wasn't really over.

"Shelby! Are you listening to me?" Dreadwing scooped her up and made her look at him.

"I'm sorry Dreadwing, but I had to." She says lowly.

"What happened?" He finally realized she wasn't acting herself. She looks away, not sure of how to use her words.

"Silas is dead." Optimus voices.

"Are you sure he's dead?" Ratchet says, fear laced in his tone.

"The robot he was controlling fell on top of him. There is no way he would have been able to survive." Optimus explains.

"That's good isn't it?" Miko asks.

The proximity sensor then started going off. In a short few moment, Agent Fowler walks through the elevator.

"We got bad news, Prime." It's not starting off good.

"What is it, Agent Fowler?" Everyone turns looking at the agent. Waiting for his answer.

"They didn't find the body." Gasps come from everyone.

"No!" Shelby shouts angerly. "I knew he wasn't dead. Optimus we have to find him. It's going to happen. He's going to become Breakdown."

"What are you talking about?" Agent Fowler asks the question everyone is thinking.

"Look while I was in my coma, I continued to dream about this whole thing. Silas became Breakdown. Taking over his body and tried to kill me. Kill all of us. We have to find him before he can go to Megatron." She quickly explained. "I need to go home and check on my mom. Something bad is going to happen."

"You can't leave. It's not safe." Dreadwing argues, he picks her up and brings her close to him. Not giving her a chance to fight.

"Dreadwing! I have to. I might even be able to find Brandon. I need to convince him to stop this. Or he could be dead too." She cries out.

"Breakdown did disappear. He was killed by Arachnid and when I went back, his body was gone." Dreadwing admitted.

"Optimus? Please let me go home and check on my mother.  A bot can come with me." She pleaded.

"I'll go with you." Dreadwing announced.

"Dreadwing, you are not up to par yet. I'm not risking you getting hurt." She looked up at him, pleading with her eyes, willing him to change his answer.

"I will take you." Optimus declares. "She will be safe with me."

Dreadwing growled under his breath. Not happy about the situation. Shelby places a hand upon his chest, hoping to ease the tension. He looks down at her, his optics softening. He brings her up close to is face.

"I can't lose you again. I understand you need to do this, but I don't know if I can let you go. I can't let you die." He whispers to her.

"I promise. I won't die. I will come back to you." She said reaching up and placing a small kiss upon his cheek.

Dreadwing set her down and she made her way over to the ground bridge. Optimus following behind her. He nods to Ratchet and he opens the ground bridge. The swirlling vortex whirls to life before them. She looks over her shoulder one more time, giving Dreadwing a smile. Then the two step through. Transported back to her home. They arrive through the bridge in the back of the property. Where no one would be able to spot them.

"This way." She points and leads the way, "You are going to have to stay back when we get closer. I don't need anyone seeing you. I will call you if I need any help."

"Understood." Optimus nods as they walk.

They get closer to the house and she motions for Optimus to stay. She continues alone. The living room lights are on. As she gets closer she notices her mother and brother sitting on the couch. She can see her mother is crying. Brandon must have given her the news. Shelby wonders if her mother still thinks she is alive. Part of her rethinks going in there. Maybe it would be better if her mother thought she was dead. Would it keep her safe? She walks closer, taking one step at a time. For the first time she is afraid to enter her own home. She didn't feel safe before with her father here, but never afraid.

So, she knocks. It takes a minute before the door opens. She comes face to face with her brother. He stares at her in shock. She isn't sure what to do, so they stand and stare at each other. After a moment, he takes a step forward. Shelby takes a step back, but he doesn't let that stop him and he pulls her into a hug.

"I'm so glad your safe. I didn't know where you went after what happened. I'm sorry I didn't do anything. Please, I know I should have stopped him, but I was afraid of what he might do. I'm sorry. Please forgive me." He whimpers into her shoulder.

Her hands stay to her side, feeling crushed by her bothers embrace. Her eyes are wide and she slams her mouth shut. After a few more moment, he lets go. He pulls back, leaving his hands on her shoulders and looks her up and down.

"I'm really glad your okay." He finally lets go.

"Brandon, whose...Shelby!" Her mother shows up and the door and she gets another bone crushing hug. "How did you get here? Your father said he took you to a facility."

"Mom, I never went to a facility." She starts. Her eyes gaze over to Brandon and he winces. "What has Brandon told you?"

Her mother glances at Brandon and motions her inside. It takes her moment before stepping inside. The feeling felt foreign to her. She hasn't felt like this was her home for some time. She doesn't feel welcome here. No matter how much her mother tried to convince her. They take a seat on the couch. Her brother takes the chair. The one her father always sat in. For the first time, she can see the resemblance. Right there as he sat, he looked just like him. From the way his eyebrows furrowed, to the way his lips pinched as he waited for his mother to talk.

"Well, he just gave me some bad news. I know you and your father haven't been on good terms, but you need to know too. He passed away yesterday evening in a car crash." As her mother reaches for a tissue, Shelby snaps a glare to her brother.

Even from the grave, they are keeping what he did a secret. Shelby is furious, yet she isn't sure she wants her mother to know. What her father did was terrible. He didn't do one good thing. He killed the family, though he never admitted to it. After seeing what he did to the Autobots and her, there was no doubt in her mind now that he did. She needed to talk to Brandon, he would know.

"Brandon, can I talk to you?" She gives her mother a comforting hand before standing up. Brandon follows her into the kitchen.

"Silas isn't dead." She blurts out as soon as they are out of earshot.

"What are you talking about? We both watched the metal robot he built land on top of him. Of course he's dead." His eyes widened and he looks at her like she's crazy. Telling her he had no part in it.

"They never found the body." She explains. "Where did you go after he was flattened?"

"I stayed there for a moment before the military got there. Then I ran. I went back to the facility we were at and ordered everyone to clear up and go to...." He stops before reveling some important information.

"Go where? Is there another secret facility. They could have taken him there. Why didn't you go with?" She tries not to yell.

"I came straight home. I had to be here for mom. There is no other facility." He attempts to claim.

"Brandon. I need you to tell me. There are things that could happen and if he is still out there, he could come kill you and mom. I need to have him destroyed." She demanded.

"He's dead. It doesn't matter. M.E.C.H is finished. Without father, it can't run. No one else would be able to lead. You don't need to worry about us. Mom and I are safe. What about you? Where have you been. Father was furious when you escaped with the titans. Your in danger too."

"Why did I never see you there? You let him torture me over and over again. You knew about what was going on and you let him kidnap me." Her anger flared.

"I didn't know you were there until after you escaped. Yes I knew about the metal giants, but I didn't know about you. I would have stopped it. I did all I could to keep you out of it. I was furious with him. We got into quite an altercation. I started questioning everything after that. Again I apologize for it. I'm sorry that I let you believe it was all a lie. Agian I ask, please forgive me." The sincerness in his eyes got to her. She believed him. A part of her didn't want to, but she knows how much he tried before to be there and now he was telling her the truth.

"I can't forgive you yet, but this is a start."

"Thank you." He clasps his hands together and gives her a small bow.

She felt something buzz in her pocket. She didn't need to look to know who it was. That was her cue.

"I need to go. Please protect mom. And please reconsider telling me where the other place is that Silas could be at. He needs to be stopped. This is my number." She didn't give him a chance to say anything after writing down her number on a sticky note that was laying on the counter and went back in the living room. "Mom, I have to go."

"What why? You just got here. We need to stick together. We have to plan the funeral." Her mother started going off.

"Mom I can't tell you why or where I'm going, but you need to trust me. I will be back, I promise." Shelby gave her mother a kiss on the forhead and before her mother could react, she left. The front door slamming shut behind her.

Shelby ran out, not looking back. She can only hope her brother will change her mind and will tell her where Silas could be. Many lives will be saved if he does. She runs back and finds Optimus just where she left him. He was looking over the trees surveying the area. He looks down, hearing her running up to him.

"Let's go, Optimus. All safe here." She says proudly.

He nods his head and the two walk deeper into the woods before calling Ratchet for a Ground bridge. After the two walk through, she goes straight up to the platform. Before she reaches the top, she recieves a texts. One with cordinates. There was no name, but she knew who it was.

"Time to gear up guys. We have a location." She beams a smile to everyone. She gives Ratchet the cordinates and the Autobots gear up.

The ground bridge opens and they head through with no time to waste.
