38 Sacred Identities

Part 38 Sacred Identities

Arnav was following Khushi completely awestruck. He didn't judge her mind. He didn't expect she could face the situation daringly. She left his hand when they came out. Arnav walked with her parallel. They came to the car. Arnav opened the door for Khushi. Arnav started the car when Khushi buckled herself with the seatbelt. He could not realize what he was feeling right now. Though he was upset with Khushi's parents he was delighted about the way she handled them. He could not believe a parent could be so heartless towards their daughter. How could they throw such disgusting words toward their own daughter? He felt bad for being an orphan many times. But today, he felt glad for not having such unkind parents.

To know her mind, Arnav stole Khushi's glance and noticed her facial reaction. Her face looked like a stone. he could not be silent as he felt to console her.

"I'm sorry for whatever happened, Khushi" he hesitated.

"Please don't be sorry for someone's..."

Cutting her,

"No, Khushi, actually, I don't know how to console you"

"I'm alright" She smiled.

"I mean I don't know whether I can talk about them or not"

"You can talk... not only about them but about anyone and anything. Didn't you ask me to talk like a friend?"

Arnav nodded yes.

"I can't believe how a parent could be so unfair to their own daughter. You know, I always longed to have a family. Do you know what I'm feeling right now? It's better to be an orphan rather than have parents like yours. How could they be not thinking of you, Khushi? Why don't they feel bad seeing your ruined life? how could they even support your in-laws after what they did to you? They got you married to their son hiding the truth of his inefficiency. They threw you out of their house. Still, do your parents want you to obey your in-laws? How could a parent be partial?"

Khushi's answer to his question made Arnav dumbfounded.

"They are not my parents"

"Whaaaaat? Are not Guptas your parents?" The shock was visible on her face.

Khushi nodded yes.

"I didn't get you..."

"He is my father's brother. Our family was a join-family. I lost my mother when I was in the eighth standard and my father passed away when I studied twelfth standard. After my father's demise, they brought Aditya's alliance. They said Aditya's family was a reputed one and I will be its queen."

"Do you think they don't know about Aditya's ability?"

Khushi nodded no.

"I don't think so. They got a massive amount from Aditya's family for making me married to Aditya. I got to know that after my delivery." She said painfully.

"Didn't you ask them anything regarding?"

"What could I ask them? After all, it was their plan to earn money using me as a bait..."

"Because of them, were you hesitating to get married?"

"No... I was not hesitating... I was scared. I don't know how will they fill my husband's ear. I know they will surely pull my reputation down with their uncultured words just like they did a few minutes ago."

"But you paid them back"

"I have to... and the problem has not been solved yet. I'm expecting more from them."

"Of course, the problem has not been solved yet because you refused to sign the document"

"I won't believe them. I won't sign the document without knowing their reaction to our marriage matter. I want to know what they are going to do"

"Do you think they will create problems?"

"Definitely..."

"Mmmm... how do you want my stand would be in this matter?"

"You are free to do anything. I'm not going to ask for anything"

"Yeah...you are right. Expectation kills. I can understand" he said without looking at her.

"It depends on the person in front of us whether we could expect from them or not. Even though we didn't expect anything the person can make us expect if he is capable"

"Is it a task for me?" Arnav asked with a smile.

"I just said what I feel"

"Ok... but how can I know that I have seeded expectation in your heart?" he questioned her with a smile.

"You, yourself should have to find it out"

"Another task?"

Khushi nodded NO with a smile.

"Thank you..." Khushi said.

"For?"

"Abhi is happy... because of you. i can see dreams in his eyes ( she stopped for a while) about his future with you"

"Though Abhi is a little kid he is a nice boy. He understands everything well"

"Maybe... but please don't break the egg ever. Let him think you are my husband"

"Of course, I'm your husband," he said seriously.

"I mean from the beginning"

"That's also true. From the time my child took place in your womb, we became husband and wife." Arnav himself didn't know why he said so.

Khushi looked down getting embarrassed.

"do you think I will break the egg?" Arnav asked seriously.

"No, I mean..."

"Let's don't talk about it from here on. Be it, as it is"

Khushi nodded ok.

They reached the office. Khushi got stuck thinking about something. Don't know what will be the reaction of Unique Software's staff seeing her with mangal Sutra and Vermillion but she has to face this. From here on, she was going to wear those sacred identities that became essential.

Arnav was about to stop the car at the entrance of the office,

"Don't stop the car. Go to the parking lot" she said.

Arnav looked at her questioningly and drove the car without question. He thought she wanted to talk to him about something. Parking the car, Arnav looked at her. Khushi's hand stopped he was about to remove the seatbelt. She raised her brows like, what?

"Do you want to talk to me?"

She shrugged her shoulders off like, NO.

"You came to the parking lot... unusually... that's why..."

"Is not everything that happening with us UNUSUAL?" she asked.

Arnav didn't know what she had on her face was a smile or a smirk. He nodded yes smilingly. Yes, since the previous day evening everything that happening with them was unusual. Khushi was with him in his house. She cooked food for him. They slept on the same bed. She spoke about her FAKE parents. Everything...

Khushi got down from the car and waited for Arnav. Arnav joined her and noticed that she walked with him at the same speed. They entered the office together. Sheetal also entered the office and got stuck, seeing Arnav and Khushi coming together. The mangal sutra and the vermillion on Khushi's forehead explained something to Sheetal. Did Khushi get married to Arnav? Really? When did it happen? That too all of a sudden?

A few staff in Unique Software also saw them coming together and Khushi's NEW look somewhat made them think that they sorted out their problem.

The matter of,

"Arnav sir and Khushi Madam got patched-up" started spreading like a forest fire in the office.

Khushi sat in her chair and started working as usual. She raised her head hearing a knock on the door. She saw Sheetal standing with Lavanya.

"Congratulations, Khushi," Lavanya said with a smile.

"For?"

"For patching-up with Arnav Sir"

Khushi smiled.

"You are looking gorgeous with the new identities, Khu... (Sheetal stopped.) Madam..." she smiled. So did Lavanya.

Khushi rolled her eyes with a smile.

"After all, you are our Boss."

Lavanya nodded yes hurriedly.

"Stop kidding guys..."

"Kidding?"

"Yes, because even the MAIN Boss is not behaving like a BOSS," Khushi said with a smile.

"Yeah, that's true," Sheetal said.

"We are so glad about your decision, Khushi," Lavanya said.

Sheetal nodded yes.

"Thank you guys" Khushi smiled again.

They felt her smile different. It seemed so PURE. It reached her eyes. Khushi with smiling eyes looked so beautiful. Sheetal who always was curious to know WHAT HAPPENED didn't mind about it, seeing Khushi's genuine smile. Let the reason be anything, it doesn't matter if the woman with a good heart is happy.

To be continued...
