Part 37 Answer
Arnav looked at Khushi getting amazed.
"Are they your patents?" he asked unbelievably.
Khushi nodded yes.
"Are they in touch with you?"
"No... I'm seeing them after six years" she gulped down.
"What do you mean?"
"I stopped talking to them after Abhi was born."
"Stopped talking? But why?"
"They wanted me to drop Abhi in the orphanage as my in-laws wanted"
Arnav tightened his jaws.
"As I didn't obey them, they didn't want to support me. So, I left them"
"If it is so, why are they here now?"
"I don't know"
"Don't you want to know?"
Khushi was silent.
"If you want to know why they are here, I can get to know that from them"
"No... You don't have to talk to them..."
"Why? Why don't you want to talk to them?"
Khushi bit her lip.
"Are they asking you who am I?"
She looked at him and said nothing.
"So? Don't you like to tell them who am I?"
"No... They will create problems if they get to know who you are"
"Means?"
"They are like that. They never stood for me. Even after knowing my in-laws' intention, they supported them. My parents didn't mind when my in-laws insulted me."
Arnav pulled the brake.
"Then WE have to deal with them."
"No... Let them go"
"Do you regret marrying me, Khushi?"
"No..." came from her immediately.
That made Arnav relaxed.
"I think a lot before making any decision. But if I decided something, I will never regret it. Trust me"
Arnav smiled mildly. Her words made him happy and also her effort did not make him feel bad.
"What if they don't go? What if they enquire about us in the neighborhood? They will easily get to know your whereabouts. What will you do if they come to our house? Won't you face them? Will you hide?"
Cutting him,
"Why would I hide? I just don't want to embarrass you. It will happen if I meet them"
"I won't get embarrassed. I'm ready to face anything. Let's deal"
Khushi thought for a while.
"Trust me, I'm with you," Arnav said.
Khushi nodded yes. She was about to get down,
"Wait... come after a few minutes"
Khushi looked at him astonished.
"Give me the house key" Arnav extended his hand.
Khushi took the key out of her handbag and gave it to Arnav. Arnav got down from the car and walked towards Guptas.
At the same time, as Arnav said, Shashi enquired about Khushi's neighbor Vimla about Khushi.
"Excuse me, is this Khushi's house?" Shashi asked.
Vimla shrank her eyes.
"Yes, she was here until yesterday"
"Where is she now?" Garima asked.
"She went to her husband's house"
"Husband's house?"
Shashi and Garima spared a confused glance.
"Yeah..." Vimla's sight caught hold of Arnav who walked towards them.
"Here, he came..." Vimla pointed at Arnav.
Shashi and Garima saw him dumbfounded.
"I have to send my son to college. You talk to your son-in-law. Excuse me." Vimla left the place.
Arnav looked at them.
"Are you here to meet Khushi?" Arnav asked them.
"Who are you?" Shashi asked him firmly.
Arnav opened the lock and got in.
"Please, come inside..."
"I asked you something..." Shashi asked when entering in and Garima followed him.
"Didn't the woman say who I'm? I'm your son-in-law..." Arnav said.
"Our son-in-law died a long ago..." Shashi said sternly which irked Arnav.
"But your daughter is still alive... Do you remember that? Where were you all these years?"
"We don't owe to answer you. Where is my daughter?"
"She is in the PLACE where she can be SAFE."
"Is this the excuse she has for her DIRTY act?"
"Dirty?" Arnav frowned.
"Then what? Being someone's wife, how did she marry you?" Shashi asked with anger.
"She didn't marry me when she was someone's wife. She married to me only after his demise"
"How could she marry you without getting our acceptance?"
"Acceptance? Like really? Would you have given your acceptance if she had told you her decision?" Arnav raised his brows, putting his hands in his pant pocket.
"Never would have... Why would I accept something that is purely based on lust?"
Arnav gritted his teeth wrathfully.
"Lust?"
"Then what? Why would a woman remarry someone if it's not about lust?"
"Are you roaming with your wife out of lust?" Arnav asked him wrathfully, biting his teeth.
"Mind your tongue."
"Why would I mind my tongue when the person in front of me doesn't mind talking rubbish about my wife? Where were you when she struggled to stand alone? What rights do you have to raise your finger on her who you disowned six years ago? Don't even have a bit of regret, how could you blame her who is raising her son without anyone's help?"
Shashi tried to say something, but Arnav extended his index finger toward him.
"Dare you... I won't spare a single word about my WIFE..."
"Wife? Without us, from where would you get that wife?"
"A butcher also brings goats to his shop. Does he bring those goats to his shop out of love? According to me, you are no less than a butcher. So, I won't be thankful to you for being the reason for Khushi's arrival to this world" he said heated up.
He turned to leave the place,
"Hey, wait... Where's my daughter?" Shashi asked.
"I don't owe to answer you..." Saying that Arnav started walking out.
Shashi and Garima followed him.
"Hey, answer me... Where is Khushi?" Shashi stopped seeing Khushi.
Arnav stopped seeing Khushi standing with an unnamed expression. Khushi gestured for him to get in. Arnav took a back step and gave her space to enter.
Shashi was about to say something, and Khushi looked at him.
"Why are you here? What made you remember me all of a sudden after a long gap?" she asked calmly.
"Who is he?" Shashi asked.
"He is my husband."
"What..."
Cutting him,
"And, it's my personal matter. You don't have to talk about him and I know you are not here to talk about him. why are you here?"
Shashi took a deep breath.
"Your in-laws want your signature"
"Signature?"
"Yes, Heeraji (Khushi's MIL) wants to register their property to Shilpa's (Khushi's SIL) name. As they don't want any problem from your side, they want you to sign the document"
Khushi thought for a while. Arnav was keenly watching Khushi. He didn't want to interfere in that matter as that was about her in-laws. However, he knew Khushi would sing the document. But as he didn't expect,
"I won't sign the document," she said.
"But why?" Shashi asked.
"Because it's my wish..."
"Why? Even after marrying someone, can't you leave their property?"
"Think whatever... I don't care... I'm not interested to talk about anything with you. It's my problem. I know how to handle it." She said making Shashi awestruck.
"Shall we go?" She asked Arnav who also stood speechless.
Taking the lock in her hand, Khushi looked at Shashi. He understood that she wanted him to get out of the house.
"You will regret..." Shashi said looking at Arnav.
He walked to the door and Garima followed him.
"One minute..." Khushi said.
Shashi and Garima looked at her.
"You asked my husband something and I want to answer that."
The trio looked at her to know what answer she wanted to give.
"If you think I married to him to quench my lust, yes... I married him to quench my lust... is that clear?" She said without having any expression on her face, leaving an unnamed expression on the other trio's faces.
To be continued...
