🌸Chapter 2🌸

Ivana

It was exhilarating to be kissed by him. Those stories that people talk about of when you get kissed by your mate they weren't lying. My toes curled, my heart beat picked up, and my knees were wobbling like crazy. I felt like the world around me was spinning but the moment our lips met, everything seemed to have stopped.

Oh it was so good.

I allowed myself a moment to forget who I was and who he was and savored the moment. The way his full soft lips touching mine made me almost forget how to breathe or was it the way he held me in his arms like I was the only thing he wanted to wrap his arms around. I wasn't sure.

After a moment, I pushed against his chest and pulled my lips away from him. Once I felt his arm unwrap around me I ran. I ran because I don't know what and how I should feel about this. I wanted to think. I will never reject him because my parents have raised me to love my mate but how can I when my mate was Killian.

I ran up the steps and towards my bedroom. Slamming the door close and locking it before moving further into my room.

Killian was my mate.

Killian kissed me.

Why did he kiss me?

I groaned in frustration and fell onto my bed, covering my face with my hands. This was so complicated. I remember him bullying me. He would tug on my ponytails. He will push me when he saw me walking ahead of him. I remember crying almost every time he did it.

I can still taste him on my lips from the kiss that just happened moments ago. I can still feel his lips touching mine. The tingles were still there even if it wasn't as strong. I enjoyed it. I loved it. My fingers moved to touch my lips and my heart was pounding at a fast rate as if he was still kissing it. I closed my eyes as my mind went back to when I was ten.

"Stop tugging on my pony tails!" I shouted, my fist clenched at my side.

"What are you going to do about it?" Killian taunted.

"You're so annoying!" I growled and tried to escape him but he grabbed onto it and tugged again.

"Stop!" I shouted as I felt pain shoot through my scalp. Tears prickled at the corners of my eyes.

"Aww, is poor little Ivy going to cry again?" Killian's voice cooed and I moved to punch him but fell to the ground as he swiveled away from my punch.

I hit my knees on rocks and a sob escaped my lips. It was too much. He was always teasing me and again I couldn't take it.

"Go away." I cried. "Leave me alone."

He crouched next to me and I looked up to see a brief moment where his eyes were soft but then they hardened again.

"Never." He said.

I sighed as I got up and started walking toward the bathroom with my hands behind my back as I try to unzip the zipper. A good rest might help me decide what to do.

The next morning, I woke up and slightly convinced myself yesterday night Killian didn't kiss me. I slipped on a pair of blue skinny jeans and a white tee before walking out of my bedroom and downstairs for breakfast.

I risked a peek inside to see if Killian was anywhere in sight. When he wasn't I walked into the room. There were many people already awake. Some were getting breakfast at the buffet table and others were sitting down and eating. I walked to wait in line to grab myself a plate.

A voice behind me spoke and I turned around to see a tall auburn hair male looking at me. I arched an eyebrow confused because I wasn't paying attention to what he was saying.

"I said, good morning." He repeated back with a grin.

I returned his smile. "Good morning."

"My name is Jake." He said just when I was about to turn back to face the head of the line. I turned around again.

"Ivana." I responded and moved to shake his hand. He glanced down.

"Soft hands you have." He pointed out and I softly laughed before removing my hands back to my side.

"So, did you have any luck last night?" He asked.

Goddess, he was a talker. All I wanted was to grab my breakfast and flee the room but since the line is barely moving I guess I will allow it.

"Maybe." I responded. He smirked and leaned forward.

"Maybe we can-"He went flying to the ground faster than I can blink. I gasped and turned to see it was Killian. He looked furious and his eyes were cold.

"Killian." I said quietly. When I saw Killian move to straddle the male, grabbing a handful from the front of his shirt as he raised his fist up to slam into the males face. I moved to grab his fist.

"Killian!" I shouted. "Let him go!"

Killian growled and attempted to remove his fist from my hands. I clutched it to my chest and held on tight.

"I mean it, Killian. Let him go." I ordered.

Killian's black eyes turned to me before standing up. He kicked the poor male away from us and then turned me around to face the front with him behind me. I stood rigid as a board. His hands placed on my shoulder.

"Why did you beat him up?" I asked turning to look at him.

"He was talking to you."

"Killian, we are no longer little kids anymore. You can't keep hitting people because they talked to me. I am allowed to have friends now. We are grown-"

"Stop." He interrupted. His hands tightened around my shoulders. "Don't. Not right now."

He was still angry. I can tell by the cold hard tone in his voice. It left no room for arguments. I bit my lips as I inched forward to move with the line. This was going to be a long breakfast.
