Chapter 2: Round One [Part 1]
Austin cleared his throat dramatically. "The first question of tonight is...Why do you think you'd be a good friend for Y/n?"
Quackity shot up out of his seat. "OH! I GOT IT! I'LL ANSWER IT, AUSTIN! I'LL ANSWER FIRST!"
Tommy rolled his eyes. "No, let me answer first! Me! I have- I have a really great answer! Pick me!"
You were surprised by the boys' eagerness to give a response. In fact, you were flattered by their sense of urgency; maybe they really were excited to be your friend.
Ever the gracious host, Austin allowed Quackity to proceed, much to Tommy's annoyance. "I would be a great friend to Y/n," Quackity started, "because I can provide them with a stable career."
Tommy guffawed. "What's a career got to do with friendship, Big Q?" Quackity pointed accusingly at the screen. "You shut your mouth, Tommy, or I'll-!"
"Gentlemen!! Gentlemen," Austin called. "Let's not get carried away here. Quackity, the question still belongs to you."
"Thank you, Austin," the boy said, sitting back down. "Now, as I was saying, before I was so RUDELY interrupted, I would help further Y/n's career." Quackity leaned back in his chair, sporting an overall leisurely and relaxed air. "You see, I am a businessman with many ventures that require my attention every day. I can provide many opportunities for Y/n as a friend of my operations. For example, they can do my taxes, or run my casino-"
You jerked back in shocked amusement, as Tommy's high-pitched laugh filled your ears. "You'd be treating them like a fucking slave! A slave!" he yelled.
"No, I wouldn't!" Quackity denied.
Wilbur nodded in agreement with Tommy. "Tommy's right, Big Q. They sound more like a business partner than your friend."
Eret concurred. "I'll have to agree with Wilbur on this one. Quackity, you don't sound like much of a friend to Y/n...Did you choose host?"
Before Quackity could start screaming, Austin wisely cut in: "Alright, Quackity. Thank you for your answer. Let's move onto Dream! Dream, what do you think? Would you be a good friend for Y/n?"
You couldn't see anyone on the famous speedrunner's webcam, but you did hear the creaking and squeaking of the YouTuber shifting positions in his chair. "Uhm, yeah. I think I'd be a good friend for Y/n. Because, I mean, I could let them onto the server, so..."
You gasped loudly, inhaling a full amount of air into your lungs, and struggling not to fall out of your chair. Had Heaven sent angels to play trumpets in your ears? Had the impossible actually happened? With all the courage you could muster, you dared to ask the fateful question: "Do you mean...the DSMP server?"
"That's right," Dream sang. "See, I only let my friends on the server, so if you were my friend then it would only make sense to-"
"Pandering. He's pandering," Sapnap complained.
"Dream, you're the worst," Tommy muttered, shaking his head in disgust. "That's why I'm clearly the better option for Y/n."
"Tell us why, Tommy! Austin insisted. "Make your case. Tell us why you think you'd be a good friend for Y/n."
"Of course, Austin. Now, I would obviously be the best choice for Y/n as a friend because I am the best PVP player on the server." Boo's erupted amongst the crowd as the streamers vehemently disagreed. "Oh, oh, SHUT UP!! All of you!" Tommy yelled back. "It's fucking true and you know it! Anyways, Y/n, how about it? You and I can team up and take down Dream. What do you say?"
Before you could give a response, Wilbur snorted in contempt. "Oh, get off it, Tommy," he retorted jokingly, spinning lightly in his chair. "You know just as well as I do that if Y/n wants to participate in lore, then they can just choose me." Wilbur held his hands up as if he had won. "I'm the writer of the SMP. I can just write them in!"
Crash-Bang-Slam! The shock of the Brit's offer triggered your fight or flight response, sending you to the floor in a loud clatter. A chorus of giggles sang over your computer's speakers as you pulled yourself back up.
"Y/n? Y/m, are you okay?" Austin asked.
Awe and wonder struck you silent as excitement still coursed through your veins. Being written into DSMP lore was beyond your wildest dreams, a fantasy you thought would never be reached. Until now.
Eret chuckled. "Austin, I think they're still dazzled by Wilbur's offer."
Minx rolled her eyes. "Oh, great, Wilbur. Ya fuckin' broke the poor human! They can't even fuckin' talk ya piece 'a shit."
The Brit gasped loudly at the accusation, but his reaction was interrupted by Austin's voice. "Minx! Minx, save it. Let's just move on," he insisted. "Schlatt! Take it away, boss man! What makes you the best option for Y/n?"
