Chapter 30 - Party (Part 3)
"And let us get this party started!" Asgore yelled.
Everyone cheered and started clapping, Dream half clapping since he was kind of tired from staying up another night.
This was starting to get unhealthy, but he needed to stay up, he had things to do. And it wasn't like sleep was that important anyway, right?
"Blue, let's-" Dream paused when he saw that Blue was mysteriously gone.
"Oh, Blue went out to the bathroom," Sans lied when he saw that Dream was wondering where Blue was.
"Skeletons don't need to go to the bathroom," Dream said.
"They just do now, okay?" Sans whispered.
"Did someone at least go out with him?" Dream asked, "Remember that someone was following him and Geno! Not to mention that Ink and Cross are just gone, I don't want to lose anyone else to them."
Dream couldn't help but wonder if this was Nightmare's doing. Would Nightmare kidnap his two friends?
What if it was revenge because Dream kept searching for Nightmare? Did he offend Nightmare by still looking for him, and finding a valuable item, so he took Ink and Cross? Maybe Horror was his boyfriend of sorts, and he was upset at Dream for getting his diary.
Or Nightmare was dead, and the rest of the vampires were evil people who were going to kill them all.
Dream shook his head, erasing the idea in his mind. No, he would find Nightmare, he had to. What would all of this be if he didn't find Nightmare? All of this effort, staying up countless nights to look for any good information, worrying non-stop, constantly putting up with the King, it would just be worthless in the end.
He'd have no idea what he would do with his life.
"Shoot, no, I should've thought about that," Sans said, fear running across his face as he started to bite the edge of his thumb out of worry, "It might've been a vampire that lured him out away from the crowd in the first place! Why didn't I think of that?"
"I'll go teleport to him," Dream said, "You-"
"No, you're pretty tired, your teleporting might be off," Sans said, "Get Geno to help you with the distractions. I'll go fix my mistake."
"Okay, yeah," Dream agreed.
He set off in the direction of Geno while Sans turned towards the door, trying to see if he could sense where Blue's soul was. It was better if he had went looking for Blue anyway, since Asgore wouldn't punish him as badly as he would someone else. Not to mention Sans didn't skip out on sleep, since he loved sleep.
It was stunning how many nights Dream had stayed up just to work more. It had been awhile since he had gotten a full nights sleep, which Sans didn't really think was a good idea, but he couldn't control Dream. If Dream wanted to stay up, let him stay up.
He knew Dream didn't get a great childhood compared to him, Dream was expected from so much because of his perfect memory. Sans remembered Dream's first day when he had gotten hired, Dream had been called the perfect Jury member on his first day and they demanded the best effort from him.
People push him too hard and expect too much, poor Dream.
That's why Sans enjoyed just laying back and being calm. He didn't want to stress himself too much, an old friend told him to enjoy life while he could, so he would.
Even if he was in constant threat of being killed if anybody found out his secret.
"Oh, hello again Sans," Grillby said.
"'Ello," Sans said, grinning at him, "You're looking rather hot today, don't ya think?"
"Pft," Grillby snorted, covering his mouth as he laughed.
"I used that one earlier, I guess you didn't hear me," Sans said.
"No, I probably didn't," Grillby said, smiling at Sans.
"Well, I actually have to go look for my friend," Sans said, pointing towards the door as he took a step back.
"Oh, then let me come with you!" Grillby said, "I wouldn't mind helping looking for your friend."
"Well, I guess help would be helpful," Sans said, "Well, he's a short skeleton with blue star pupils and he's wearing a blue bandana, his name's Blue and-"
"Sans, I need to talk to you."
The voice was sharp, annoyed, deep and full of murderous intent.
Asgore.
"King Asgore!" Grillby said, bowing.
"We're going to go talk for a moment," The King said, grabbing Sans' shoulder and practically dragging him away from Grillby.
"Go look for him without me!" Sans yelled before turning in the direction that Asgore was taking him in.
"Okay, I will!" Grillby said.
"Do what?" Lust asked, approaching Grillby with the food he was set out to get.
"We're going to go look for a lost skeleton," Grillby said, smiling at Lust, "I know how much you like adventures, want to go on one?"
Lust smiled.
"Yes!" Lust said, grabbing Grillby's arm and running off.
~~~~~~
"Sans, what the h*ll?" Asgore snapped as soon as they were distant from Grillby.
"Asgore, I should be saying that!" Sans said, "I was asking him to watch for Blue when he came back from the bathroom!"
"You were flirting with him!" Asgore snapped.
"I wasn't, I was just asking him to watch out for Blue while I went to go get a snack!" Sans said, "And stop getting all possesive! I will never accept your offer!"
"You will one day," Asgore growled.
"King Asgore!" A voice chirped.
There standing there was a high class member named MoonEyes, who was wearing a dark blue star covered outfit. They talked to Sans every once in awhile during events.
"What?" He asked.
"I'm a big fan, could you possibly tell me everything about your amazing life story?" MoonEyes asked.
Asgore grinned, completely forgetting about Sans as he started talking. MoonEyes winked at Sans for him to escape while they distracted him, Sans giving them a thumbs up before teleporting off.
He appeared on the other side of the door in the hallway, looking around to see if he could catch up to Grillby. And he found Grillby standing in the hallway, looking around for Blue probably.
"Oh, wow, you handled him quick," Grillby said when he noticed Sans.
"Had some help," Sans said, "Want to go look for him now?"
"And I also have to go look for Lust," Grillby said, "She ran off because she wanted to go on an adventure."
"You had Lust come with you?" Sans asked.
"Yeah, she likes adventures and stuff like this, she reads a lot of adventure books and she fell in love with the idea of it," Grillby said, "While I just like sitting down and just enjoying life."
"I gatta agree with you there," Sans said, "But if you guys are so different, how'd you end up together?"
"Her parents arranged with my parents for us to marry," Grillby said.
"So... You guys are madly in love, huh?"
"I would say I see Lust more as a friend, she's pretty nice, but we are just helping each other survive, really. I help her have food and a good home, and she helps me from being lonely."
"Don't we all help each other out?" Sans asked, "I mean, we need each other to survive this crazy Kingdom. We help each other out when some of us are afraid, help protect each other, that stuff."
"Yeah, I'd say we do," Grillby agreed.
~~~~~~
"Are you alright there?" Dust asked Blue, who was in his arms.
"I'm sorry!" Blue apologized, smiling up apologetically at Dust as he stepped out of his hold, "I didn't mean to trip."
"The gremlins did it, clearly," Dust said.
Blue giggled at his joke, Horror watching them with interest. They seemed to instantly become friends, because Dust cracked a few more of his weird sayings that would definitely be ending up in his book later.
Looks like Dust made a normal friend.
"And again, I didn't mean to bump into you," Blue said, "I just wanted to go apologize to a girl, who I also bumped into."
"You mean the girl that ahd run past us?" Horror asked, "Yeah, she's long gone now."
"Aw, shoot," Blue sighed, "But are you guys from the party as well? Because we can all go back together before we get in trouble."
"Yeah, let's go!" Dust said.
Before Horror could even say anything, Blue and Dust had run off, practically leaving Horror behind in the dust of their shoes immeadiatly. He had went from being on a mission with one of his close friends and roommate to being a third wheel inside of a second.
That was the quickest he had ever been a third wheel.
"Okay then..." Horror sighed.
He decided to follow them, since he had a mission to do anyway. He had a mistake he had made to fix himself.
Out of nowhere, a loud gasp came from someone.
"Horror?"
~~~~~~
"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!"
PurpleFluffball was pacing back and forth, her eyes wide as she panicked.
"Don't freak out, she's probably fine!" The blond haired girl said.
"She hasn't come back in two weeks, what if Bubbly is dead!" PurpleFluffball said, "What if they killed her?"
"I doubt it, Bubbly can defend herself, but we have to worry about the big problem at hand," Her friend said, "Even if Asgore is retreating, the other Kingdom isn't! There's rumors that their going to try to take out our twin next!"
"We can't let that happen," PurpleFluffball said, stopping, "What if Bubbly comes back to us dead?"
"That's why we can't let it happen!" She said, "Why don't we protect the town and surprise her when she gets home!"
"Yeah, let's do that!" The purple and pink haired girl agreed, high fiving her friend.
