Flutter - Save a Witcher Bingo/Monster Lover March day 1

Fae Jaskier/Lambert

--------------------------------------

Jaskier was a fae or in some terms, a fairy. He could change his size, but his favorite was to walk amongst the humans with his wings hidden behind a shawl or cape. He loved what humans had to offer, and while it wasn't on purpose, fae deals were easy to come by. Humans gave their names so much easier than anything else ever did. Jaskier had many names he could choose from any day, this came in handy in two ways. He could either transform into the person who gave up their name, or he could call on the favor. That person would be transported into his realm and he could ask them favors to return them back to their world, to Jaskier he didn't see it as kidnapping. That wasn't how fairies saw it at least, that was just a way of life. If someone wanted you over for a party, they simply said your name and you showed up.

Never in Jaskier's life had he ever given a human his name.

Until he met a man by the name of Lambert.

Exposing his name was no easy feat for the human, but eventually Jaskier cracked.

Three years ago Jaskier had met the man, according to those around him he was what the humans called a Witcher. He was meant to kill dangerous creatures. Or anything people feared. That made Jaskier weary. It concerned him that he may possibly become the man's next victim but he wished to see who and what he really was for himself. He wanted to know what this Witcher would be like. It was dangerous and interesting, and that was the part he liked.

He loved danger, even when he knew it wasn't allowed.

Fae were supposed to stay hidden if they knew they could endanger the rest of their kind, but the man was just too irresistible. Just learning of him, knowing of him, that was what he wanted. So he did in fact truly give in. The fae was very talented when it came to music, so he introduced himself as a bard. He was in fact a bard, but to humans it wasn't as common an activity as it was for fae.

He continued to follow the man around, joining him on his path. When they first met it was in a tavern. He was playing music, enchanting everyone with his lute and song. His magic seemed to enhance his music, everyone listened and was enamored by it.

Even the witcher, Lambert.

He watched the man with interest, and wanted him to join him on the path. He wanted to know his name and who he was. He wanted him to join him as a friend, and maybe even eventually as a lover. He didn't however know how to explain that, and he especially didn't know how to speak to the man in front of him. But he did eventually gain the courage, he made his way up to him handing him a coin.

"My name is Lambert." The witcher introduced himself. "I'm a witcher."

"Some people call me a Dandelion." Jaskier replied with a smile, a name without giving his name. "I am a bard."

"I see you are a bard, I-." He cleared his throat. "I would like to request you to join me on my journey if you will. I know this seems sudden, but there is something about you. About the way you walk... I do think my journey would be interesting to you at the very least. You could tell stories of the monsters I fight."

Lambert didn't know why he was speaking out loud, he didn't know why he wanted this man to come along with him. He hardly knew him, he had heard him sing only once. He knew nothing about the kind of person he was. He honestly was uncertain why he was acting this way.

Jaskier knew, but he didn't want to let the man go. He did want to join him, and he was happy he asked even if it was his fae nature that made him act the way he did. There was a different air around Jaskier, one humans didn't have. It made people like him, made people want to be around him.

He wished however that these people would just want to be around him because they wished to be. Not because he was something magical. Being a fae was often difficult, but he greatly enjoyed the human world. Desired to be around the humans and walk amongst them.

He joined Lambert in his path, kept his wings hidden until it was not longer sustainable to lie to the one he loved. "I'm sorry..." Jaskier began as he stood watching Lambert in the tub. The man looked up at his lover in surprise.

"Dandelion?"

"My..My name is Jaskier." Jaskier finally admitted.

"W- What?"

"I'm sorry I've lied to you," Jaskier whispered. "I'm sorry..."

"Why have you never told me?" Lambert asked, rising up from the tub. Water dripped from his body. "I though... I thought you and I were.. Was I wrong about this? I mean I suppose we haven't ever been intimate, and we share a spare kiss from time to time but I- I thought this was okay on your end too-."

"Lambert, I have wanted to be yours for a long time.. But I fear you will deny me when I tell you the truth."

Lambert narrowed his eyes. "I would never deny you."

"You may even kill me when I tell you the truth." Jaskier replied, he stayed in the doorway, nervousness running through him. "Lambert know I have never meant to hurt you.. I only desired to get close to you... to love you.. But I- I fear I have ruined it all now..."

Lambert watched him nervously, concern racing through his body as he examined the man he loved standing before him. "Dand- Jaskier what is this about?"

Jaskier removed his cape, something he wore religiously. Lambert had never seen him take it off before. As the cape fell to the floor in a puddle of fabric, two beautiful wings rose up behind his back. Vibrant blues that matched his sparkling eyes, Lambert examined the wings. They were beautiful, everything felt as if it was crashing down around him.

This was why they never went further than a few kisses, why Jaskier never slept beside him. "You're not human."

"I never meant to hurt you.. I never meant for this to go so far. I thought I would explore with you, learn about you and go back and tell my friends about the human I followed about. I never thought I would fall in love with you. I never thought I would stay longer than a few months.. But here I am.. I never thought I would give you my name... I never thought I would show you my true self. I- I understand if you wish me to leave... I just ask because we are close, that you do not kill me.. I- I would hate to have to hurt you o-."

Jaskier stumbled back as Lambert pounced, their lips crashing against one anothers. Jaskier's wings fluttered as Lambert kissed him deeply and desperately. "I can't let you go now." Lambert whispered against his lips before he kissed him again. "You're not a monster my Dandelion, I would never kill you."

"I've lied to you, for years- I."

"You just admitted the truth." Lambert retorted, whatever happened he could not give him up, Jaskier meant too much to him now. He may not be human, but he meant a lot to him. "I love you."

Jaskier eyed the human man. "I love you as well, but I fear I have hurt you even if you do not admit it. I fear I have crossed too many boundaries, your admiration for me may even be false. I will never know I-."

Jaskier was surprised to be pulled towards the large tub. "If you'll allow it I would love to go a bit further than a few kisses. I don't even care if you are a fae or if you are a man. You are mine. I- I don't know what I would do without you, you have been mine for so long I cannot just give that up because of this.. I really don't think you understand... I could never lose you."

Jaskier looked him up and down, but he was overjoyed that he still wanted him. He feared being murdered or rejected and to the Fae he wasn't sure which was worse. He knew he could likely escape using his magic, he could turn Lambert into a flower if he so desired, likely a buttercup or a wolfsbane to remember him and his Witcher ways but this was much more pleasing.

He leaned forward and kissed Lambert as the two lowered themselves into the warm water. "Can-can your wings get wet?

"Yes." Jaskier replied. "I just cannot fly for a bit after, but I haven't flown in some time."

Lambert was enamored with his wings, they were beautiful. They seemed to sparkle as the water ran over them. Lambert leaned forward kissing him softly. "Why wouldn't you tell me.."

"I- I was scared.. I thought you would hate me..."

"I could never hate you."

"But I lied to you... I am a monster.. I'm like the things you hunt."

"But you aren't my love." Lambert replied. "You are good, you have never tried to hurt a human on purpose." Lambert ran his hand along his face, water dripped down his perfect porcelain skin as he pulled away.

Lambert continued to kiss him, Jaskier hoped his love was genuine. He feared his presence just made him love him. He knew there was love, but he wondered if it was amplified by his presence at all.

He loved Lambert, and he hoped that he was truthfully actually in love with him. Because all he wanted was for Lambert to love him.

Being a Fae wasn't as easy as everyone thought it might be, he had immortality, beautiful features, but he never knew if anyone's reaction to him was genuine. He just hoped Lambert's love was real.
