Prentiss' POV:
When we land, JJ and I follow Morgan, Rossi and Hotch to the crime scene, but leave them when we get there to start asking the neighbours if they saw anything. We walk over the the house next door to the victims' house and knock on the door. An old lady opens the door with a welcoming smile. "Hello ma'am, my name is Jennifer Jareau and this is Emily Prentiss, we're from the FBI's Behavioural Analysis Unit, we'd like to ask you a few questions about last night if that's okay with you?" JJ asks kindly, holding up her credentials. The woman's face fades from a smile to a look of worry and concern. "Yes, okay, what happened?" She asks. "Were you friends at all with your neighbours, the Mathersons?" I ask, "I always give them lemons from my lemon tree, they're such a lovely family, but we're not really close. Wait, you said 'were', are they alright?" She asks, concern evident in her voice. "Ma'am I'm terribly sorry but, the Mathersons were killed last night in their home" JJ says apologetically. The old lady's eyes widen in shock, "Oh-oh my goodness!" She says, "We're terribly sorry. Are you okay?" I ask, "Yeah, like I said: we were never really close, but it's still terrible!" She says. "If you don't mind, we'd like to ask you a few questions about last night" JJ asks, "Sure, anything to help" she says. "Did you see the Mathersons at all last night?" I ask, "No, I was at my daughters house for lunch and then I came home and turned the TV on" she says, "Did you notice anything out of ordinary when you came home?" I ask, "No, not that I can recall" she answers, "No car parked outside their house you didn't recognise?" JJ asks, "Um, no. Wait, there was a dark blue car parked at the end of the street, I noticed it when I left in the morning and it was still there when I got back" "Okay, do you remember anything strange about this car? Or maybe a number plate?" I ask, "No, sorry, my eyesight isn't that good" she says apologetically, "That's okay. Did you hear anything last night? Maybe a gunshot or something?" JJ asks, "No, I take my hearing aids out when I go to bed you see, can't hear a thing then" "Okay, thank you for your time" I say, "Before you go, am I in any danger if I stay here?" She asks worriedly, "No ma'am, it's extremely unlikely for this person to attack again so close to their previous attack" JJ words carefully, "Okay, thank you" she says and we leave.

JJ and I ask a few other neighbours but none of them saw anything and no one took much notice of the gunshot because there's a lot of rabbit hunting that goes on in the woods near the street so they just presumed it was that. We walk back to the SUV and get ready to drive to the station. "Jage" I say, turning to look at her, "Yeah?" She asks, "How are you holding up?" I ask, "I'm fine" she says casually. "JJ, I know when something's not right, are you forgetting our job requirement?" I ask her, "I said I'm fine!" She says angrily. "You know you can tell me anything, right?" I say, "Yeah" she says quietly and looks down at her hands, "I'm worried about you. You can't keep bottling everything up, it's not good for you" I say, it kills me to see her like this. "I just... I wish things were different" she says quietly, still looking at her hands, "Me too" I say honestly. She looks at me with tears in her eyes and I pull her into a hug. "I just feel so worthless!" She sobs, "I can't do the one thing a girl is meant to be able to do!" She cries, "Spence probably hates me" she whispers as I rub circles into her back. I pull her back by her shoulders and look her in the eye, "He does not hate you. Don't you even think that for one second. He loves you Jage! And not being able to have a baby doesn't make you worthless! You're so much more than that." I say, "Have you talked to Spencer about it?" I ask, "No" she says sheepishly. "I think you need to, he's worried about you, everyone is" I say, "Okay" she says and wipes her eyes. "I'm sorry" she says quietly, "Don't be sorry" I say and put the key in the ignition, "Are you alright to go back to the station?" I ask. JJ wipes her eyes again and sniffs, "Yeah" she says and gives me a weak smile. I start the car and we drive off.
