Chapter 2
Chapter 2:
The next day, the Beatles had a scheduled dinner date to meet some prominent figures in advertising, or at least that's what the Beatles thought they heard, they didn't really care too much.
Brian had reminded the boys many times throughout the day to be on their best behavior tonight, but Paul had considered this the perfect time for his plan to initiate.
George messed with his hair and slipped on his favorite pair of rounded sunglasses. He fixed his suit and hurriedly made his way over to Ringo, who was sporting the orange spotted tie that he chose, (after much uncertain discussion), the day before. George semi-awkwardly linked their arms and they made their way out the door along with the others. Ringo was humming merrily, which to George was pretty calming due to certain circumstances.
He eyed Paul along the way to Mal and the car, who seemed to be oblivious to the whole situation. He'd better pay attention at dinner if we're going through with this. George thought.
The car pulled up to a large gold-embroidered mansion that looked to be one of the largest the group had seen. As George and Ringo, and Paul and John made their way out of the car Brian gave them another stern look of warning. George gave a small unsure laugh and looked at Ringo, who was now also showing signs of nervousness.
Once inside, the band was shuffled through the font hallway, being eyed by many important and/or rich guests. The hallways were filled with valuables made of fine metals, and large paintings seemed to cover every-other inch of the walls. George didn't have time to observe more because they were already being moved into the dining hall and into their assigned seats. George was 'conveniently' seated next to Ringo, with Paul on the other side, who was eyeing John.
I can't believe I'm F***ing doing this. Thought George. But Paul gave him an urging glare, so George grabbed Ringo's hand and held it near the table so that John could see. Ringo glanced down slightly, so George couldn't read his expression. However, John only gave them a brief strange look and continued to glance unamusedly at the other guests seated in the large dining area.
At last, the dinner officially began. Some head manager of some company greeted the guests and introduced, "The wonderfully famous Beatles!" The Beatles just waved awkwardly, aware of all the attention. They were pelted with questions briefly, but thankfully, once the food was served they died down and the group was left with their own conversation.
George and Ringo had at this point unclasped their hands, awkwardly looking away from each other.
"So.." John started.
"Everybody psyched about Revolver's release?" Paul butted in quickly.
"Yeah-" George started but Ringo butted in.
"George s' pretty delighted at some o' the sitar solos, right Georgie?"
George felt his cheeks redden, how did this come so naturally to Ringo?!
"Y-yeah.." He added.
John just nodded absentmindedly as if nothing had happened. Paul looked at him with a disappointed expression.
The conversation continued, Brian kept pressing about tours, which was a touchy subject at the time. George took this as an opportunity to (noticeably) comfortingly pat Ringo's outer thigh. He was sure his face was beet red at this point.
After another attempt with no homage paid to it, George was losing his patience.
"Paul, a word, alone?"
Paul looked flustered at the sudden comment, but nodded, and the two made their way into one of the many empty surrounding hallways.
"Listen, Paul. If John's not even gonna pay attention, then I'm not gonna keep this stupid act up. It's too obvious.. well.. maybe if John won't notice it's not, but I really don't want to risk it."
"Look George, I swear if you just give John some more time he'll notice, if he doesn't then you can drop it, alright?"
"Alright, but you'd better keep that promise, Paul."

Hope you enjoyed that chapter :)
Will George and Ritchie continue to go along with the acting..?
