Chapter 3

Chapter 3

There has been a small-time skip - 30 minutes.

Third person PoV.

Stevie was occupied with dragging Rika away from the school and was extremely insistent on her coming back home to her house. Rika found it a tad bit suspicious as she observed Stevie's stiffened posture and nervous eyes as they darted around their surroundings. She did not want the other girl to be stressed and wished to help, so she gave her hand a soft squeeze of reassurance and moved closer into her side and smiled. And Stevie, did not seem to notice her subtle gestures, so she pouted thinking up a way she could get her to notice. Stevie was too busy focused on the matter at hand, driving her attention away from Rika and seemingly searching for something or someone. When she got busy, she had a habit of ignoring everything else surrounding her to focus on it, and had a habit of nervously twitching her nose until the matter at hand was completed or forgotten about, which became a mild annoyance to say the least as Rika's efforts to make the other notice her were wasted. Eventually they arrived at Stevie's house, and as she pulled out the key, she inserted it quietly into the lock, slowly turning it to try and avoid any unneeded noise that could alert her parents.

She cringed at the untimely screeches of the floorboard under Rika's feet as they snuck along the corridor, and finally breathed a heavy sigh of relief as they made it into her room undiscovered, her mother was somewhere in her office and her father was most likely patrolling the house, looking for leaks or damage. Rika slightly smiled to herself, finally realising this was her chance. As Stevie silently celebrated the small victory of not being seen creeping through the house with a mysterious girl, Rika took this opportunity to pull Stevie playfully onto the bed. Stevie was taken by surprise at the daring action but wasn't upset. It was a soft landing, contrasting to their earlier encounter and she couldn't help it as a subtle blush dusted her cheeks as she watched the taller girl's face light up with her smile of amusement. As Rika gazed at the girl below her, she pictured Poison Ivy as she finally looked at Stevie's colouring, and began to get quite excited as she realised how similar they both looked. The cherry red hair, flawless skin and emerald eyes that glowed. She wondered if someone could control plants in this new world. (Ibara who?-)

She reached out and took a strand of Stevie's hair and began to sensually twirl it around her forefinger, smiling as it formed a small curl. "You look like Poison Ivy, but prettier...." she smiled and softly flapped her hands. Stevie felt her face grow hotter as the blush on her face grew, spreading up to her ears and down her neck whilst she hid her face in her hands in a weak attempt to hide her flustered face. Rika chuckled but was beginning to get sleepy and yawned softly. Wrapping herself around Stevie much like the snake the smaller girl owned when she was younger, Rika hummed softly. It was the Doctor Who Theme Tune. Stevie wondered who this Poison Ivy was and decided to look her up later on, Rika had been spewing nonsense like this for the entire trip from the infirmary to Stevie's house, it was quite comical.

As Rika began to drift off to dreamland, Stevie was beginning to wonder about Rika's world. It was so confusing and yet so intriguing, their Roost was still standing but was actually doing good instead of evil, how she went on about Poison Ivy and other related nonsense most of the time they had been alone. Not that she minded, yet still the question arose in her mind, did they not have heroes in her world? What exactly could a world without quirks be like? Then she remembered the first moment that she and Rika had first met, the other had seemed terrified of her. She had asked why, and the first impression she had got was that Stevie might be a villain. The thought hurt a little, deep in her chest; but she was quick to brush the intruding thoughts away. Hopefully, her world was at least somewhat better than their mess of one...

Time Skip: A week later.

Rika woke up concealed in a strangely large bathtub, covered by a fluffy and outwardly voiced her confusion "Hah?" There was a rustling sound from outside of the bathroom door and Stevie poked her head with a sheepish smile on her face, "Sorry about that, I had to hide your from my parents- they don't know about you yet..." Rika shrugged and flopped back into the bathtub, groaning at the light infiltrating from the bathroom windows whilst Stevie flapped her arms around wildly.

"You need to get up! You promised you would go into the high streets for me today!" "No, I don't wanna! I am too tired and do not even remember what you asked me to do!" She whined and pulled the blanket around herself. She was determined to not go. "You lazy twat! Get up and get dressed. You're an imbecile and a brat! I wanted you to get Snapple's for me you idiot!" Stevie was fuming at her and wacked the back of her head. "Ow! You know they don't sell these here! I can't fly all the way to America for you to get them!" She stuck her tongue at her. "I know a guy, I'll send you the address. Now get dressed." Stevie threw some clothes at Rika's head and turned around to get her phone to send the address of the building to Rika's phone, totally not suspicious at all. Rika begrudgingly got dressed and exited through the bathroom window as she had done for most of the week and flew herself over to the location; frowning slightly at the sight of the bar in front of her; muttering to herself, "I'm under aged..." She checked the message again to make sure it was the right place an slowly approached the door, throwing the door open and immediately frowning at all of the gazes turning to her.

Third Person PoV: Rika's Quest

The strange smoky man was the first to speak up, "What are you looking for, young lady?" Rika made a sour expression before actually walking further in than just the doorway, her left hand shaking at her side, "Oh I'm here for a delivery under the name Reed-"

"Would that be for Marque Reed or Stevie Reed?"

"It's for Stevie. It's also a little weird that I'm getting tea and punch from a bar but it beats flying all the way to America I suppose!" Smoke man nodded silently and moved to the back room to get the order, bringing all eight crates through at once in a familiar purple-y-black mist. Rika definitely wouldn't be able to carry all eight at once, so she'd have to make a second trip; it was silent both journeys. Suspicious. She was also extremely exhausted after the hour of flying and her wings were in agony by the time she got home to Stevie's, she was mildly still freaked out by the man who called her an NPC just as she was leaving from the second trip, "Never make me do that again." She practically growled while flopping face first onto Stevie's bed, her parents had left for a business trip while Rika was out, and wouldn't be home for a month, which meant Rika could finally sleep in a bed. "You will do it again next month, but you'll have a car by then so you'll only have to make one trip, you also won't have to use your wings!"

"I cant wait for tomorrow, we are going that hero school!" Rika squealed.
