Wedding
The next morning, Kirishima ended up sleeping through his alarm, therefore waking up late. It just had to be today of all days. He had done pretty well with waking up at okay times over the whole week and for most of his adult life at that, but today his REM cycle just had to be stubborn and not end.
It wasn't the end of the world and he still had time to get ready without completely rushing, but it was just an added on stress to the day already.
He hadn't seen a lot of his family for a while. It wasn't for any particular reason and they always kept up with each other on social media and stuff, but it would always make him slightly nervous when seeing them in person.
He'd always looked up to his older sister in many ways. He had a few younger siblings too, and he loved them, but his older sister was the only one related to him biologically, the only one who had been there his whole life. Her soon-to-be husband was a figure to Kirishima as well. He had been with Kirishima's sister since they were about sixteen and, Eijirou being ten at the time, he considered him as family already after a certain amount of time.
The more he thought about his sister, the more he couldn't help but think about how well she and Bakugou would get along. They were both somewhat headstrong, going into something with an 'all or nothing' attitude. Maybe she was the reason Kirishima connected with Bakugou so easily.
He put the suit on quickly, realising as he reached the top button of his shirt that he'd accidentally skipped one of the button holes, making him have to unbutton nearly the whole thing again before doing it correctly. It would've taken him less time if he just took his time the first time.
He quickly did his hair, making sure that it was fully set before running around again.
At this point, he was almost fully ready appearance-wise, but there was still one thing left. His tie. From rushing to get dressed he had almost brought himself to being on schedule to get there on time.
He jogged down the stairs and made his way into the kitchen, where Bakugou was.
"I was gonna make something good but we're out of eggs." He sleepily muttered, lazily putting his bowl of cereal on the table as he flopped on to the chair resigned to it.
"That's okay. It's probably better to have this today anyway."
"You doing good?"
"Yeah... I'm just nervous! I don't even know how Ai will be feeling. Well, knowing her she'll be loving every second of the anticipation." Kirishima poured his own bowl and then added the milk before taking a seat next to Bakugou.
He was tapping his foot in anxiety, trying to steady his breathing a bit. He was more nervous about seeing all of his family.
"I mean, it's not like they weren't practically already married anyway. They're actually tryna have a kid, too." He spoke with food in his mouth, shovelling more in.
"Slow down. You've got time to fucking eat at a normal pace." Bakugou pity laughed, not really understanding why Kirishima was so fidgety. "It's just a wedding, right?"
"Well yeah, but I haven't seen my family in a while, and I don't know what kinda questions they're gonna ask. They're pretty invasive. I love 'em all to pieces, but they'll always find a way to embarrass me, no matter the situation." He giggled, slowing down a bit. "Like, 'hey Ei, you got a boyfriend yet? No? That's okay, you'll eventually stop being fourteen', 'hey Ei, are you ever gonna actually leave the house and make a friend?'." He mocked a couple of his family members, pulling stupid faces. "I'm kinda laughed at a lot. It's all in good fun and I know they love me, but gah, it can get annoying when it actually has some truth to it."
"Just say yes to them from now on. Bet they'll feel real fuckin' stupid." He chuckled, putting the spoon down in his empty bowl before taking Kirishima's also empty bowl and placing them in the sink. "You ready to go?"
Kirishima held up the red tie, not really needing to say anything before Bakugou was in front of him, delicately doing the tie as he did the previous day.
"I'm starting to think that you can actually tie it yourself, but you just don't fucking want to."
"Even if that was the case, it'd be totally worth it for this view." The red head smiled before Bakugou stepped back scoffing. He made sure that the tie was a good length before stepping forward again and straightening out his collar.
Kirishima stepped back, shooting a wink at Bakugou as he stood up straight.
"Do I look okay?" He asked the blonde. He knew he looked good, he just wanted to see Bakugou's reaction really.
"You look... Fine." The blonde blushed as he actually took in Kirishima's appearance, not being able to bring himself to mutter a compliment.
He may have been getting better at this kind of stuff recently, but it was still genuinely difficult for him to stop in the moment and say something like that while being able to think about it. Maybe it was because he found it embarrassing, maybe it's because he thought saying something like that caused some sort of weakness to be revealed.
"What was that?" Kirishima asked as he teased, knowing what Bakugou meant by what he said.
"I said you look like shit let's fuckin' go." He grabbed Kirishima's sleeve and started pulling him towards the door.
They both put their shoes on, Kirishima messing with Bakugou by slipping a croc on before the blonde nearly screamed at him. He took it off before he said anything, though, and put normal shoes on.
"You sure you can tie your own shoelaces?" The blonde teased, referencing that he couldn't tie his own tie.
"If you're offering to do it for me then no, I can't." The red head laughed as he tied his own laces, turning around the blonde's joke completely.
Bakugou couldn't help but let out a snicker before they both set out to the car.
Kirishima took the passenger seat as Bakugou turned the engine on, double checking the time before he buckled his seatbelt and started to reverse out.
Kirishima was lucky Bakugou knew where they were actually going. They were set to be a little bit early, considering everything had to be ready and Kirishima would be expected to talk to his family beforehand.
As they pulled into the place, Kirishima unbuckled his seatbelt as he took a deep breath. He was about to reach for the door handle, but Bakugou abruptly reached over and grabbed his hand, stopping him from doing so.
"Relax. Seeing you all worked up is making me fuckin' nervous." He leaned back into his chair and dropped Kirishima's hand, keeping his eyes on Kirishima.
"Yeah... Yeah. You're right." The red took another few deep breaths while he could see his parents and two of his younger siblings waiting outside with smiles on their faces. They were clearly excited.
"It's not like you're the one getting married here." The blonde laughed, trying his genuine hardest to reassure Kirishima. He didn't know if this was the right way to go about it, but it was worth a try, and he knew that Kirishima would notice the effort regardless. "They're your fucking family."
"You're right. Again." The red head let out a singular chuckle before turning to face Bakugou, the familiar smile on his face. He was excited, but along with excitement, nerves are always present in some way.
"Text me when you want picking up, yeah?" He tried to push Kirishima forward a little bit, since he did have to leave the car eventually.
"Yeah." His eyes brightened up again as tension picked up around them.
Kirishima softly placed his hand on Bakugou's cheek as he lightly brushed his thumb back and forth. A second later, as Bakugou was clearly anticipating it, Kirishima leaned in and placed a kiss on his lips lasting a few seconds.
Bakugou instinctively looked forward as they broke apart, noticing that a few people had noticed them.
"I think this is your cue." He cleared his throat, trying not to let himself lose too much of his composure.
"I'll see ya later!" Kirishima winked as he stepped out of the vehicle, closing the door firmly before walking the short distance to the familiar faces.
"Eijirou Kirishima!" His mom shouted, running over to him with open arms. He accepted her embrace, hugging her back as a smile made its way onto his face.
"Nice to see you." He pulled away, continuing to walk over to the rest of the people waiting.
"Hey, ma!" The red head greeted his other mother figure, who had the same sweet smile on her face as she always did.
"Hey, Ei." They bumped their fists like they always did whenever they met.
"Hey, guys! You excited?" He asked the smaller people there, his younger siblings.
"Yeah! Ai looks soooo pretty!" The eleven-year-old girl exclaimed, face beaming. Her reaction clearly differed from the little boy there, who was pouting with his arms folded across his chest.
"Why the long face, Kaito?" Kirishima turned to his younger brother and asked. It wasn't really a surprise that he found something to be moody about, but the red head still felt required to ask either way.
"Ai won't be a Kirishima anymore." He sniffed, clearly trying to keep a strong face.
"Hey, that doesn't matter! She won't have the same last name as us, but she's still the same big sis!" He ruffled the blonde boy's hair, seeing a weird sense of familiarity in the way he let up slightly.
"We should head in now. Everyone's excited to see you y'know, Ei?" The figure he called 'ma' commented, leading the way.
"Really?" Eijirou asked, not really knowing what exactly to expect.
"Mhm. Especially Ai."

After a short amount of time, the wedding was over. Eijirou managed to not cry (only barely) and he wasn't really sure what he was nervous about in the first place.
At the after-party, his sister pretty much jumped him as soon as she had the chance to, chasing off everyone wanting the attention of the bride.
"Ei! How've ya been doing?" She asked, sitting down next to him as she took her heels off.
"Pretty good! It was actually kinda funny to see you in this getup, though. Poufy dress, makeup, heels-"
"Don't fuckin' remind me. I can handle it for a short amount of time, but these shoes hurt."
"Crocs don't." The red head cockily commented, knowing the reaction he was to get.
"It may be my wedding night but I will fucking stab you right here right now." She laughed, the way she smiled really speaking all the words she didn't vocalise. "How long before you move down here? Life can't be that good just on your own."
"Yeah, well, someone... Interesting has been keeping me company recently." He laughed, not knowing exactly how to move into talking about this. Honestly, at first, he didn't even want to, but at that time he didn't really realise just how much he actually wanted to talk about Bakugou.
His sister immediately turned to face him, her eyes that were a colour close to his own widening in surprise. This reaction was pretty priceless to Kirishima, who had to actively hold in his laugh. After a second, the black haired girl smirked before talking.
"It's that Zero kid, isn't it?" She questioned, rather confident in her deduction.
"How-?" Kirishima began to stutter.
"I'm not completely brain-dead. Doesn't take some smart ass to watch your videos and figure it out." She laughed, taking a generous sip from her drink. "People online may not exactly know how you are, but I know you, Ei. Which means that I know for a fact when you're acting differently."
"Damn, is it really that obvious?" He blushed, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.
Aiko nodded, a huge grin on her face since this was the first and only time she'd ever seen or heard her brother like this at all.
"As one Kirishima leaves, another one enters!" She joked, slinging her arm around Eijirou as if she was an elderly person giving some sort of condescending advice.
Kirishima rolled his eyes. He couldn't say he didn't expect this kind of joke and from his sister at that, but it still didn't seem any less childish.
"Remember what you said a few years ago when mom asked why you never gave anyone a chance? You said 'if I don't already like him then the chances are that I won't begin seeing him in a different light. I don't want to lead anyone one. If I ever do date anyone, I won't be intending for it to be a short term thing'."
"Wow. You remember my words better than I do." The red head awkwardly laughed. He did say all those things, and he still stood by them.
"That's why it wouldn't surprise me if you did end up marrying this dude eventually. Bro, the fact that you've even got to the point where you can say you're dating someone already speaks volumes to us." She continued rambling. It was actually strangely nice to hear. She really did know him well, and that was obvious by the way she was speaking. "We're all just happy for you. We know immediately that this guy is special. As long as he treats you right, then we'll get along."
Kirishima smiled at that. He knew that if Bakugou was there and heard that, he'd take it as a challenge, saying that he would treat Kirishima better than anyone had treated anyone before. Not that Kirishima didn't know that already.
"I think you'll like him. He has the same opinion on crocs as you." Kirishima laughed.
"With all due respect Ei, literally every sane fucker on the planet has the same opinion on your shitty crocs as me."
---
After a few hours of Kirishima mingling with his family and family friends, he decided to call it quits. He considered the day successful as is, and he didn't quite want to risk ruining it.
He dropped a text to Bakugou saying that he was planning on leaving soon. He got a response in a few minutes, sooner than he honestly thought.
That was quick. Everything okay?
Kirishima replied by saying that everything was fine but he was just getting a little tired, so Bakugou set out to get him from the place the after party took place at.

Sorry I haven't updated for a while! My hours were upped at work so I've had less time to sit down and write. Also, thank you for all the reads and nice comments! It's really motivating and reassuring haha.
Also, I really love Kirishima family headcanons and I have no idea why.
