Expecting?
After having a drink, Kirishima was desperate for the bathroom. He'd asked Midoriya where the closest one was and although he barely processed the instructions, he decided that he'd be able to eventually find his way around.
Almost too inconveniently, that happened to be when the red head's phone rang. He'd left the device with Bakugou and Kaminari where they were sat.
Upon hearing the ringtone, Bakugou peeked at the screen to see who was calling. It was Aiko.
Normally he wouldn't have picked up someone else's phone and answered it for them, but this was Kirishima's sister, and there was a chance that it was maybe serious. So he pressed the green accept button before the timer ran out and pulled the phone to his ear.
"Yo." Bakugou answered with, knowing that it would immediately make Aiko know who she was talking to.
"Katsu?" She asked. There was something about her voice that scared him, considering it was definitely higher pitched than normal and that she seemed in a rush, out of breath almost. He could've been completely looking into it but either way, the general concern was there for a reason.
"Yeah, it's me." He briefly paused, not able to keep his mouth shut for long. "Are you alright?" He asked, feeling slightly awkward as this kind of comforting was mostly out of his own comfort zone. "Eijirou shouldn't be too long, I could-"
"No, no, it's okay. I'm just a bit baffled and wanted to talk to someone who isn't my parents right now." She laughed, though there was a clear sense of nervousness behind it. She was speaking quickly, much quicker than Bakugou had ever heard her. "So here's the situation," She took a shaky deep breath before continuing. "I just took a pregnancy test, and I'm pretty damn certain that it's positive." She giggled yet again. It was obvious to the blonde that she was on the verge of happy crying.
He could imagine her expression, which brought a smile to his face. Eijirou had mentioned that they hadn't had much luck with getting pregnant in the past, so she was probably ecstatic about this possibility.
"Holy shit, that's-" Bakugou's eyes widened, eyebrows raised as he honestly didn't expect to hear that.
"But the second line, it's so damn faint. I thought to call Ei because he seems to have a special fuckin' sensor for red, and I don't know if it's actually there or if I'm just tricking myself." She commented, staring intently at the two lines she swore she could see. "I might have to wait a bit before getting a clearer result, but I don't know if I'll be able to do that."
"When he gets back I'll get him to call you."
"Thanks, dude. I'll tr- Oh fucking shit, I think Kaiji got home." She suddenly turned to a whisper, and somehow spoke even quicker. "I'll talk to ya later!" She ended with, not giving the blonde any time to respond before hanging up the phone.
"Who was that?" Kaminari asked immediately. He was trying to somewhat eavesdrop on the conversation, but didn't do a very good job of it.
"Ai." Was all Bakugou replied. He wasn't going to give out any sort of details.
"Oh, Kirishima's sister, right? I tell ya dude, if she was a bit younger-"
"Fucking shut up." The blonde commented as he scrunched his face in disapproval before continuing to drink his coke.
A few minutes later, Kirishima emerged from the double glass doors, seemingly relieved to see Bakugou and Kaminari.
"I got lost," he laughed, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment. "Pretty sure I accidentally walked into someone's room at one point."
He took his seat back next to Bakugou when the blonde dumped the phone into his lap as soon as possible.
"Katsu called." He stated.
At some point or another, he had began returning the nickname she gave him. It wasn't even intentional really, he just found himself saying that when she first came to mind. Maybe that was because of the fact that their names were similar in the first place.
"Aiko?" Kirishima asked, eyebrows scrunching together as he seemed somewhat worried. She rarely called, and when she did, it was mostly because something had happened, whether it be good or bad.
Without much thinking, Kirishima pressed the call button and held the phone to his ear. His heart had picked up in rate, nervous for what kind of tone would be held in her voice.
"Ei?" She answered the phone in a close to whisper.
"Yeah, it's me. Why are you being so quiet?" He asked.
"Long story short, I can't let Kaiji hear me. I really need to ask you to look at something for me whenever you get the chance." She requested. She was a lot calmer than when she first called earlier so she spoke generally clearer, but Kirishima was still somewhat suspicious.
"Look at what?" He questioned, beginning to chew the inside of his cheek.
Bakugou watched in amusement, trying not to give too much away with his own facial expression. He was patiently awaiting the moment that Kirishima's face would change from nerves to joy.
After a sigh from Aiko's end, she spoke again, this time a lot quieter.
"A pregnancy test."
Barely a second later, Kirishima jumped to his feet, hand grasping his hair as the wind was almost taken out of him.
"W-wait a second Ai, are you..?" He asked, chest heavy as he was anticipating an answer.
Bakugou couldn't see his face at this point, but enjoyed watching his erratic actions nonetheless.
"That's the thing, I'm not entirely sure. I think so, but I don't know if I'm tricking myself."
She explained what she said to Bakugou earlier, how she saw two red lines on the test, though the second was so faint that she wasn't sure if it was actually there or not.
"Sure! Yeah! I'll look at it!" Close to shouting, the red head replied. He'd began pacing back and forth at this point, chewing on his lip as he did so.
Rather abruptly, she had to hang up in fear that she was in the bathroom for too long. The last thing she'd want to do is get her husband's hopes up again to have to be the one to destroy them. Not this time.
"Holy shit!" He placed his phone back into his pocket, huge grin on his face as he turned back to face Bakugou. He was almost completely speechless.
Kaminari was completely out of the loop, deciding not to focus too much on it or else he'd just get more annoyed.
Suddenly, Kirishima crouched down and wrapped his arms around Bakugou's shoulders, pulling him up and into an embrace. Bakugou went along with it, smiling into the red heads shoulder as he could genuinely feel the radiation of happiness.
"It is only a maybe at the moment, though." The blonde reminded him. It still wasn't confirmed.
"Yeah, yeah. She said she'll send me a picture but she's not sure if it'll show up on her phone camera."
"Even so, we can still up the exposure or something to see if anything is there." He pulled back from the hug as they both took a seat.
Kirishima was beaming, his aura somehow even more chipper.
"The fuck is happening‽" Kaminari exclaimed, upset he was being left out of the loop.

Later on, Midoriya had called everyone together, asking if a few people would judge a bellyflop contest they were going to be holding for a video. Naturally, Kirishima and Bakugou were both the first pic for judges as that was the only way their faces could be off camera with them still involved. Todoroki joined them, as he wasn't exactly keen on the whole concept.
Midoriya opened up the video as the camera that was steady on a tripod was a safe distance from the pool.
"Hey guys! Today we're going to do a bellyflop contest! We've got a few friends over, and a few behind the camera who are going to be the judges. They'll each give a score of ten based on how hard we hit the water and the things we do leading up to it. Once they've done that we'll average everyone's scores and see who does best!" The green haired boy exclaimed. It surprised Kirishima how similar he was in his videos to real life.
The judges all tried to be as unbiased as possible. However, that didn't quite work out sometimes, as Todoroki gave Midoriya a full on ten while Bakugou gave Kaminari a zero, just to be spiteful. Honestly, giving him that much power to just do what he wanted to was rather dangerous.
In the end, even with the slightly biased votes, a girl named Asui came out on top, with a perfect thirty. It was rather crazy how high she could jump, and she hit the water with such a loud smack sound that it made almost everyone's eyes widen.
"That's no fair! She's been doing water sport since like, high school!" Kaminari complained, trying to lesson the salty flavour of his defeat. He came second to last with only some guy called Mineta beating him to that last spot.
The purple kid barely even flopped, just eyed the girls who were in their swimsuits or beach outfits. He ended up getting pushed into the pool by Uraraka, who had an innocent smile on her face throughout the whole thing. Everyone decided to count that as his turn, so that's how he ended up there.
Midoriya then spoke his outro into the camera, gesturing for Todoroki to do his bit. He didn't have his own channel, but he tagged along with Midoriya's a lot and helped him with the things the green haired boy was struggling with, whether that be the camera settings or editing.
The camera was then turned off, the recording saved safely in the memory.
"Awesome work, guys!" Midoriya called out, shooting a thumbs up.
The equipment was put away and now everyone was back to the chatting and chilling that they were partaking in before. The news from Aiko did wonders for Kirishima's mood, even though it was good in the first place.
Seeing his excitement caused the blonde to subconsciously think, damn, he'll be a great figure for that kid.
After a rather long time there, they decided to return home. Midoriya had offered to let them stay over for the night, but Bakugou had his limits and hadn't stayed a night away from home since he'd moved. He'd wake up in the morning and panic, wondering where he were for a solid few seconds. Once he tried sleeping in the spare room because he just couldn't drift off in his own bed, and he'd nearly punched a hole in the wall at the slightly different surroundings.
It was still borderline dark outside by the time they had got back. Maybe they'd taken a little longer than necessary when walking back. The cold breeze in the air was so wonderful, as was the atmosphere surrounding the two boys.
"Have a good time?" Kirishima asked, slipping his hand into Bakugou's as he realised that they had somehow been there for five hours almost.
"Kinda," the blonde responded, not willing to admit that overall, it was not an unpleasant experience. One thing that remained on his mind helped him to keep that negative tone. "Not a fan of the yellow fucker." He muttered, not noticing how his grip on Kirishima's hand had tightened.
The red head was genuinely shocked. It seemed that they got along alright, or at least they somewhat did in high school. There was a sense of hostility in his voice, which didn't match with what he was seeing earlier.
"Kaminari? I thought you tw-"
"You fuckin' kidding me?" Bakugou's voice raised in volume, rolling his eyes as he scoffed. "He was all over you." There it was again, that hostile tone.
It added up, then Kirishima wasn't sure why he was so surprised. Bakugou was jealous, huh? He didn't necessarily picture him to be like that. In a way, the red head thought that Bakugou wouldn't bat an eyelid at all to stuff like that, or that he'd care too much. It didn't seem like he was mad, but he wasn't ecstatic about it either.
"Are you getting jealous?" The red head laughed, unable to understand whether the blonde saw Kaminari as a threat or not.
"I'm not god damn jealous, shit for brains! It's just annoying. Makes me wanna be closer to you, make it obvious what's going on, so the others will back off." Putting his free hand into his pocket, Bakugou looked away, making sure to not let his eyes go anywhere near Kirishima.
The red head smiled. Though Bakugou may not have meant to say it in a way that implied this, Kirishima saw it as affectionate. Bakugou wanted to display the fact that they were together. He wasn't hiding it like it was some dirty secret. That shouldn't have surprised him at this point, but it sort of did.
The blonde wasn't one for PDA, and neither was Kirishima past a certain point, but the fact that Bakugou even thought about that stuff in the first place was flattering.
"I know I don't have to tell you this, but you've got nothing to worry about. Denki is like a literal brother to me. He also used to have the hots for my sister, which caused some awkward conversations to say the least." Kirishima laughed, smiling at how he knew he was right and how Bakugou did too.
Aiko hadn't sent a picture yet, texting her brother that she was scared of suspiciously going to the bathroom too much. She was like Kirishima in that sense, thinking a bit too much.
After eating once they'd got home, they quickly retired to bed, snuggling down under the warm weighted blanket they had on top of them.
As Kirishima's arm laid around Bakugou's waist for what felt like the millionth time, the red head pulled him as close as possible as he whispered,
"I wouldn't be caught dead holding anyone else like this."
"I know."
They fell asleep soon after, tight against each other's bodies. They wouldn't have it any other way.
The calm before the storm.
More setup skdjejdjd ahh sorry
Unsurprisingly, Tododeku won the vote! I do agree with the things people were saying about Izuocha though, and I'll definitely write them in my next fic.
I am really incapable of writing anything other than fluff huh.
Happy Halloween! (It is where I live at least lmao)
Boo!
Did I get ya? ;)
