Chapters 1 and 2
The bolded words are the ones from the book, the ones not are my comments
"It's Cordelia . . ." she said. "Cordelia the Kind"
If you'd actually kept up with the book, you'd know who Cordelia is, and that she's really not that kind, so this part isn't really necessary.
Conor glanced over to the scratches he'd been making on the wall. There were fifteen.
Prisoners-make-scratches-on-wall cliché.
"You should appreciate how hard it's been to stop her from coming down here and expressing her . . . enthusiasm upon any of you."
If Kana is so willing to betray her former friends, why care? They only need them there for Song and it doesn't really matter what condition they're in.
"What about Worthy? Cordelia got out. So what did you do with him? Kana's eyebrows raised a hair, though her face remained otherwise still. "You won't be seeing him again." Rollan didn't want to believe that.
Why though? Even if you are in denial, there's a good chance Cordelia lived and Worthy didn't. Cordelia could of at least dived through the cave, while Worthy was right underneath. And the fact is that if Worthy doesn't have the Wildcat's Claw and it was with Cordelia, they probably took it off his dead body. Sure, he lived, but they don't know that.
With Rollan and his friends locked up here and the Greencloaks imprisoned in Greenhaven, the Oathbound were unstoppable.
But of course, since we're at the last book, they are going to be stopped.
"This will tell whoever you can find that we're back in Zhong, and that the Oathbound have three of the relics."
What did he use to write with? And if he did write with something, it probably wouldn't be legible, being on scrap of garbage.
Rollan shrugged, trying to project some confidence. "What's new?"
The fact that all of you, and your allies are imprisoned.
The shouts weren't cries of pain, but commands.
It's pretty easy to tell the difference between shouts of pain and commands.
Chapter 2:
He'd grown up a shepherd, used to the free sky overhead and grass underfoot. He'd taken his imprisonment even worse than the rest of his friends.
When did this become part of his character?
He grinned to himself. Run and maybe cause a bit of trouble. . .
Again, where did this come from? Conor can't have like 3 arcs in the span of 15 days.
His patience had been used up. Every muscle burned, desperate to break into action. To run, to fight. To show the Oathbound what he and his companions were truly capable of.
Alright, I'm done. Moving on
How had such an animal bonded with Sid? He shook his head. Some things didn't make much sense.
Says the shepherd who summoned a wolf.
He rammed his head into her stomach
Isn't she wearing armor. Ramming your head into straight steel isn't such a good idea. And also if she doesn't have stomach armor, that armor sucks.
Cordelia snatched the sword and glared at Conor. Then, teeth gritted, she shoved it back into its scabbard.
So Conor outplays her and she doesn't want to fight anymore?
And that's the end of this one. I procrastinated this one a bit, but it's done
