EVERYTHING THAT WAS UNSAID
:: i. | blurry vision
Sarah stood in front of the mirror, in her room just looking at herself. Judging herself. She wasn't disgusted with herself, no. She just didn't understand how she got here. How she got to this point in her life, where she's always angry about something and not letting people in. Sarah sighed as she pulled her hair out the ponytail. She took one more look at herself before walking to the bed and picking up her shirt to slip it on. Just as her shirt was halfway on, there was a light knock on her door.
The blonde quickly slipped it on and made her way to the door. She opened it knowing that she wasn't happy and whoever is on the other side will witness it somehow.
"What Brandon?" Sarah's tone was very hostile and she was pretty sure he noticed.
Brandon put his hands up in defense, "Woah, someone woke up on the wrong side this morning."
She wasn't amused by his oh so not funny humor. She just stared at him, probably a bit of annoyed by then.
"Ok, then." He clapped his hands together, "Mom says hurry up or your ass is gonna get left." And with that, he left back downstairs and Sarah closed her door.
Sarah sat on the bed as she reached for her phone off the nightstand. She unlocked it and was about to press the green icon with the white chat bubble on the homepage to text a friend back, but another friend decided to call. She watched as it rang and rang again, until it just . . . stopped.
Moments later, it started to ring again and that's when she heard one of her mom's yell from the kitchen to hurry up. Sarah was pretty sure the neighbors could hear her.
Ignoring her mother like always, she answered her phone.
"Sar, I'll be there in five. Be ready." Hannah paused, "You're so slow in the morning." She spoke on the other line. Sarah can hear the tires of the car turning. She remembers thinking in that moment, what the hell is she talking about?
"What are you talking about?" Sarah sounded a bit drowsy. She just hoped Hannah didn't catch on to it.
"Remember last night we talked on the phone? You told me to pick you up in the morning. Sarah, are you ok?" Sarah could hear it in her voice. Hannah was getting worried about her.
Sarah brushed her fingers through her hair and clutched it in her hand, closing her eyes so hard that she didn't hear her mom calling her name. By the time Sarah finally looked up, she hung up and heard a car honking from the outside. She stood up and slid the phone in her back pocket, then grabbing her bag on the way out the room.
She tried her best to walk down the stairs. But it was difficult, her eyes kept closing. Honestly, she was surprised she hadn't tripped yet.
Sarah didn't always get high. She remembers when she didn't and that was a lifetime ago, but an event drew her to it. She didn't want to tell anybody. She was embarrassed of what happened. Honestly, she didn't even remember what happened. That's probably why Sarah never said anything. All she remembers was waking up in some strange place with her underwear missing. There are hundreds of ways she could spin that night, but if you have no underwear and you barely remember anything from that night ---
There wasn't a lot of options she could go with.
She sighed as she finally reached the first floor.
"Honey." Lena startled her. Sarah just turned around in her direction, then snapped her head back to the door hearing the car honks again.
"Hannah's waiting. I'll see you later." She told her mom with brown hair before going to the front door and opening it.
She closed the door behind herself and walked to Hannah's dad's jeep. She opened the passenger side and got in. Sarah placed her bag on the floor and put her feet up on the seat.
"You look like hell." Hannah said and Sarah just glanced at her with a glare. She put the car back in driving mode and began to drive to school.

It was first period and just a few moments ago, the teacher assigned everyone a partner for this new project. Though Sarah wasn't too thrilled about the new project, it was alright with her partner, which was none other than Rebecca Gonzalez -- one of the prettiest girls at this school.
She sat across from Sarah as she looked up from her phone. Her eyes were so pretty, Sarah never seen them so up close before. They were hazel or maybe brown. Sarah's eye sight was a bit blurry still. She wanted to say something, anything, but she already stared at her for a good minute or two, so saying anything now would've just been weird.
Instead Sarah purposely dropped her pencil on the floor and went down to pick it up, while getting back up she again, purposely bumped her head on the table so she can be the first to break the ice.
And she was right.
"Oh my god! Are you ok?" She seemed worried when Sarah sat back up in the chair across from her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. So, this project . . " Sarah tried to make small talk.
"Yeah." The dark haired chuckled and Sarah watched her place her phone to the side. "I'm Rebecca, but others call me becky."
"I know. Seen you around." The blonde forgot to mention her name.
"How come you never said hi?" Her voice sounded so sweet -- like ice cream on a sunny day. More specifically like sherbet ice cream or starburst candy.
"I didn't know you." Sarah simply put.
"And now?" She propped her arms on the table.
"I still don't." Sarah chuckled and the bell rang.
Sarah started to gather all her things and got ready for the next class. Just when she was done, she zipped her bag back up and threw it over her shoulder. As Sarah started her way to the door, she was stopped midway in her tracks and turned around on the heels of her sneakers.
"I didn't get your name." Rebecca walked up to her.
"I don't give my name to strangers." Sarah then continued to walk to the exit, "But see you Thursday!"

Sarah begin to walk to her locker which is located on the other side of the school, so she practically skipped there like she did most of the time.
Once she was finally about fifteen steps from her locker, meaning it was in eye range -- just as she was getting closer and closer, she felt a hand grip her arm and pull her to the side.
"Jesus, abs. You trying to give me a heart attack?" Sarah realized it was her friend Abigail, as her hand met her chest, trying to slow her breathing from being startled.
"Don't be so overdramatic." Abigail crossed her arms. Sarah didn't say anything. She just stood there with her arms crossed over her chest as she gave her friend a look. And that look is called bitch-get-the-fuck-away-from-me. Just like every time or cause she's Abigail, she ignores it, "Anyway, I'm having a party tonight and you're coming." She insisted. Which she always does, she never asks. It's always insisted.
"Why am i not surprised." Sarah rolled her eyes and decided to just go to her locker, which was across from the other.
"So you're coming?" Abigail followed behind Sarah.
"No." By the time she reached her locker, she started to put in the combination.
"You mean yes, cause I already got you the dress." And that's when the warning bell rang, "I got to go, but I'll be at your house at eight tonight with Chanel and Gabriella. Toodles."
She finally got the locker open and when she started taking things out, the final bell rang.
"Shit."
