BROWN EYES shot open in a panic. The hues rapidly moved side to side as best they could as they tried to survey their surroundings. Everything was dark. Only a few lights around the corners of the room gave the brown eyes something to see, which wasn't much.
How long had Odessa Stone been asleep? What happened during that time? One thing was for sure, whatever did happen, hurt a lot.
Her whole body felt as if it was on fire.
With some strength mustered up from sleeping, Odessa slowly lifted her head as best she could, looking at each of her arms before dropping her head back, too tired to keep it up any longer.
There appeared to be tubes injected in each of her arms. Those tubes were ridding her body of something. But of what? It wasn't blood because whatever was coming out of her arms wasn't red. It was a clear liquid with a murky hue of yellow. It wasn't wolfsbane or even mercury.
What were the Dread Doctors doing to her? And what was their end game?
Both arms felt like dead weight and pounded uncomfortably. Odessa could only try to breathe through the sensation the best she could. She truly didn't know what to do to help herself.
She had no idea where she was. She had no idea how long she had been there. She had no idea if anyone was looking for her. She had no idea how to help herself.
She was screwed.
She was screwed and she couldn't move.
Her legs and arms were strapped down to a metal table that was highly uncomfortable and cold on her bare skin. She was still in her clothes from the day she was taken, which was a short sleeve cropped t-shirt and jeans. If she knew was going to be kidnapped, she would've put on some sweats or something. Her fault.
With her vision and overall self becoming more in tune with her surroundings, Odessa looked around the room. More specifically, she looked around the room for an exit of some kind. The room was dark, but not too dark that everything wasn't visible to her. It was the kind of dark a bedroom would be while someone slept.
There were machines everywhere. Some were beeping, some were not. Some produced light, some did not. It made her wonder what those machines were used for.
Odessa wished it was as easy as finding a door that held an exit sign over it, but alas, that wasn't the case. She would just have to pay attention to where the Dread Doctors come in from to figure out a plan of escape.
Though her main focus was trying to find a way out, Odessa couldn't help but notice how weak her body had gotten since waking up. Her eyes would flutter every couple seconds, begging for rest. Her body was heavy against the metal table she laid on. Whatever the Dread Doctors were taking out of her, it was draining her completely.
For some reason, it gave her a sense of deja vu. But from what? In her groggy state, her mind reminded her of Silas telling her about blood tests that would be conducted every day at the Salvation. But how would something like that give her deja vu if she didn't remember it?
All that thinking was making her sleepy.
Odessa drawled her head to the side, too tired to control its movements. Her eyes fluttered dangerously as she willed herself to stay awake. She was scared of what would happen if she did fall asleep. But the waiting was making it worse. Waiting for them to show themselves. Waiting for them to do whatever they wanted to do with her.
If there was one thing for sure, it was that waiting in silence gave her a lot of time to think.
What were her friends doing right now? Were they okay? Were they aware of her disappearance? Were they doing anything to try and figure out where she was?
One person she was detrimentally worried about was Scott. The last time she saw him, he could barely stand up on his own after his fight with Liam. Who knows what Theo did to him after she passed out.
Little did she know, Scott and Stiles were doing everything they could to save everyone, not just her. Because not only did Theo terrorize her, he went after the Sheriff and Lydia as well, and succeeded.
When Scott was revived by his mother, the first word that came out of his mouth was Odessa's name. He knew she had been taken by Theo since he watched it happen before he stopped breathing.
At the hospital where Stiles was being informed about his father's condition, Scott told his best friend about Odessa after their scuffle with each other in the waiting room hallway. At first, Stiles didn't believe him, saying she would never let Theo take her without a fight. She did try to fight him off in the library, he was just too fast for her to defend herself.
Stiles felt as if his entire body could collapse. Not only was his dad fighting for his life, but now his girlfriend was taken. And there was so much he wanted to say to her. He wanted to tell her how much of an idiot he was for calling her a liar and saying all of that other stuff he couldn't even remember saying. The thought of never telling her any of those things or seeing her again... made him physically ill. And he was.
When reality of her capture finally set in, Stiles sprinted to the hospital bathroom and dry heaved over one of the trash cans. He always thought of Odessa as an unbreakable, untouchable spirit who never needed saving because she could always save herself. And of course he was going to do everything in his power to get her back. He just didn't know where to start.
The first thing he needed to do was go face to face with the person who took her from him. Theo. And that was exactly what he was doing while Odessa fought to stay awake. Her faith in him never wavered, she knew somehow he was doing whatever he could to get her back.
Right as Odessa was about to nod off completely, the tubes stopped their movement. It had been rocking slightly as whatever was being taken out of her body was going through them, along with a quiet sound coming from the machine attached to the tubes.
Everything was completely silent.
Odessa then realized the only thing producing sound in the room were the two tubes coming out of her arms, and then they stopped. Creating the most daunting silence Odessa had ever had to endure.
The Stone held her breath, too intimidated with the atmosphere to make a sound. She couldn't help but jump in her restraint when something ahead of her slammed open, but she couldn't see anything far in front of her, it was too dark.
The footsteps were slow, heavy, daunting... mocking. It was as if the Dread Doctors could smell her fear. Odessa swallowed as much fear as possible as they came into the light. She clenched her teeth together when they roughly released the tubes from her arms, creating the sound of a balloon losing its air—like it was deflating, but it wasn't.
Unclenching her jaw, Odessa couldn't help but hiss to the doctor closest to her, "you must be pretty freaking ugly if you're hiding behind that mask."
The doctor didn't respond or even acknowledge the insult that left her lips. Instead, he grabbed her arm that was closest to him with his glove covered hand and lifted it. Odessa grunted in surprise at the sudden action and the force he used in grabbing her, already knowing it was going to bruise, which would take longer to heal due to how weak she was.
The Dread Doctor took his other hand and reached for her hand, pushing her wrist back so her palm was facing the wall opposite her. Suddenly, Odessa felt a searing pain throughout her arm, causing her to grunt in sudden pain. She watched in shock as a light blue, almost white beam shot out of her palm and crash into the wall. The beam made the pain worse, the blonde screaming at the sensation.
After a few seconds, the doctor let go of her arm completely, letting it drop limply onto the metal table. Odessa panted in her spot, sweat dripping from her brow, "what was that? What did you do to me," her airy question gained no answer as the doctors walked away from her for a moment. Her heart dropped when they came back, sporting a needle in their grasp, "no, no, no. Please, don't."
Her pleas were ignored.
Odessa screamed at the top of her lungs when the needle was shoved into the side of her neck, becoming wary as soon as whatever was administered pressed inside her. Once again, her vision grew blurry, muscle grew loose. It was only a few moments later did she fall into unconsciousness again.
The Ember Wolf's scream did not go unheard. Though he didn't know where she was, Scott McCall could've sworn he heard her scream. He could've sworn he did.

Odessa Stone woke up with her head pounding and arms stinging. She groaned hoarsely, squeezing her eyes shut before slowly starting to open them. From what she could see, she was alone again. No Dread Doctors in sight.
The blonde took a look at her arms again like she did when she first woke up however long ago. This time, a clear liquid was being put into her arms with the same tubes. It seemed whatever the doctors wanted out of her system was gone.
What did that mean for her?
What did that mean for them?
What could the Dread Doctors possibly gain from taking something out of her body? Whatever it was, she felt different without it.
Odessa didn't know if it was because of whatever they injected her with, from the liquids being taken out of her arm or from the new liquid being put in, but she felt different. Her head felt as if someone was going at it with a hammer.
It felt like something was trying to make its way in. Whether she wanted it to or not. It almost felt like she was back at the Glen Capri. The effects of the wolfsbane weren't enough for her to conform to the Darach's plan due to her Ember side. It only took an argument with Stiles for them to break completely and finally comply with the deadly thoughts she gave into on the rooftop of the motel.
Just thinking of him made her eyes and nose start to burn with sadness and tears. She missed Stiles so much. She missed his eyes, his lips. She missed the way he would hold her hand or rub her back. She missed how he would hold her whenever she needed it without her telling him she did. He just always knew.
Odessa wished he was holding her right now. She wished she was in his arms. She hoped she would get to be in them again. She hoped she would get to see him again.
After some time of simply staring at the ceiling while trying to stay awake, Odessa groaned quietly at a sudden burning feeling she felt in not only the hand that was held by the doctor but the other as well. Using as much strength as she could, the blonde lifted her head and gasped at the sight of her hands glowing a striking white.
However, it was only when she lifted her head did she feel something restrict her from the movement. Coming to her senses, Odessa felt something press against both sides of her temples. She wished she had her arms available to feel around the area to figure out what exactly it was.
What the hell were they doing to her?
Odessa knew it had something to do with her manipulation powers because of what they said to her when they first showed themselves to her.
The Manipulator of Emotions.
Were her manipulation powers the beam her hand was able to produce? The glow of her hands? It made her wonder what they were giving her to produce such power she had never retained before.
Suddenly, the light around her bursted on. Odessa squinted in surprise, trying to shield her eyes from the bright lights beaming down on her. The same sound of heavy footsteps moved closer and closer, but this time, Odessa didn't react. She didn't move. She didn't talk. She laid still. Allowing whatever they wanted to do to her happened.
The Dread Doctors got to work without any delay. Odessa couldn't help but grunt when the tubes in her arms were ripped away forcefully, causing the rest of the liquid to spill on the ground. She felt another pair of hands at her head, taking away the circle monitors from her temples.
Then everything went still.
Odessa laid perfectly still as the room grew silent. So silent, you could hear a pin drop. Until she heard a sound.
A kind of crackling sound. A sound someone would hear near an electric fence that was malfunctioning. Electric. With the theory in her fear filled mind, Odessa shuddered when she felt a presence right behind her head.
She waited with bated breath for something to happen as she heard the crackling grow louder by her ears. Until that something she was waiting for to happen—happened.
Odessa Stone wailed at the feeling of a kind of electric headband being placed on her temples in replacement of the small monitors. Her back arched uncontrollably at the pain she experienced, not only in her head, but her entire body. The electric currents stung every nerve on her skin, causing her to twitch.
The torture continued until Odessa Stone's screams drowned out everything else around her. Not even hearing the Dread Doctors and their declaration while they watched her squirm in undeniable pain.
"The Ember Wolf awakens."
━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━
Brown eyes shot open once again. Her chest went up and down in a panic. Her mind was going a mile a minute. It was as if fireworks exploded in her head.
Everything she had been missing, everything she had no answers to... were suddenly there. Everything was there.
All the blank spaces, all the plot holes. The confusion was gone. She could answer anything you asked her about herself clearly and confidently.
Her parents.
Daniel and Alina Stone's favorite thing to do was read to their daughter before putting her to bed. Her favorite book to listen and read along to was Charlotte's Web. They would hold her hands as they walked together, swinging her back and forth, her dainty giggles dancing in the trees.
How she grew up.
Odessa Stone was a simple child, her small heart filled with love solely for her parents. She would pick small flowers from the ground and give it to her mother or other adults in the pack. She would always use her little legs and arms to help clean something. She was all smiles, all the time. Until she was taken.
The Salvation.
The facility was huge. Huge and bright. Though, her private room was covered in grey. Grey walls, grey bed sheets, grey clothes. Odessa always felt as if they surrounded her and her fellow werewolves with bright, white walls because it reminded them all of something they could never have again—freedom.
The torture.
Every hit she endured, every shout she was forced to listen to. She could still hear the profanities and insults hurling her way over a simple mistake. A mistake that wasn't her fault, she now knew, it was theirs. Her screams echoing through the empty training room that used to be filled with students until they were forced to leave her behind.
The nurse visits.
The needles punctured into her vein every day since she arrived. Odessa didn't know it at the time, but the nurses were given special doses just to administer them to her and her only. She remembered how the nurse would purposefully miss a vein, having to start over and make her bleed just for the hell of it. And Odessa would have had to take it with a smile or else she would've been reported for insubordinate behavior.
The Saviors.
Odessa Stone would go days without food. The Saviors found it hilarious and a necessary punishment for things she had no control over. With the malnourishment came dizzy spells, loss of muscle and fatigue. And Odessa experienced all of that at the worst possible times: training. Her instructors would revel in seeing the blonde stumble on her feet and almost collapse just from standing up. It made their job in punishing her much easier.
The escape.
Silas Campbell undoubtedly saved her life. If he hadn't helped her escape that night, she knew for sure she was going to die in the Salvation sooner or later. Though she was doubtful, he was able to do it for her. He would do anything for her. She remembered saying her final goodbye to him. She remembered running through the woods and streets until stumbling upon the Welcome to Beacon Hills sign. She remembered collapsing against a tree. She remembered waking up, confused, and with no memory.
Odessa Stone remembered.
She remembered everything.
