The Marry Sue
Okay, so.
My mom got me a book called Alex and Eliza (by Melissa De La Cruz), which is basically a fan fiction retelling of Alexander Hamilton and Eliza Schuyler's canon life. Seriously? Why do we need a fanfic novel about a canon straight ship? It would make more sense if it was about the canon gay ship, Lams (John Laurens/Alexander Hamilton), but it's not. It's about a couple who was legitimately married, written by an adult woman who's description of the book sounds like it was written by a 14 year old. And look at this:
Oh. My god. Congratulations author, you've made a new kinda stupid; a marry sue kinda stupid. Why do you have to make Eliza a marry sue? We have enough already!
Though, this straight stuff is of goddamn course right up Mommom's (grandma) alley.
All in all, I'm thankful that my mom got me the book, and I have nothing against Melissa De La Cruz, I just will not be reading Alex and Eliza because I feel it is ridiculous and just a ploy to get money because it's about Alexander Hamilton. I'm sure it will be enjoyable for straight shipping pre teens, though. Good day.
