chapter fifty eight

"ok san, as you know, wooyoung's bedtime is ten thirty. he needs to be home by nine thirty so he has time to get ready for bed. other than that, i hope you guys have a great time! wooyoungie, please remain calm when you're with san. if anything happens, you both have my number." wooyoung's mother spoke to the boys before san could take wooyoung out on a mini golf date.

"of course, mrs. jung." san bowed respectfully, "have a great night." he smiled one last time before grabbing wooyoung's hand and walking with him to the car.

"bye mommy! i'll miss you!" wooyoung screamed out and waved to his mother before stepping into san's car and slamming the door loudly.

san walked around to the driver's seat and opened the door, stepping into the car and starting the engine up. wooyoung immediately started getting a bit antsy in his seat, shaking nervously as san began driving away from his home.

wooyoung's anxiety had been acting up all day but he chose not to tell anyone about it. he knew if he told his mother about it that she wouldn't allow him to go on the date, and he really didn't want to just sit home with san for another night because of something he can't control.

"hey beautiful, what's wrong?' san asked wooyoung, glancing over to the boy quickly before returning his eyes to the road.

"i don't k-know, my anxiety has be-been bad today." wooyoung stuttered out, choking on the words as they left his lips.

"why didn't you tell me earlier? you know i wouldn't have cared if we stood home today instead of going to play mini golf. do you want me to turn back around and we can watch a movie or something?" san asked, speaking extremely quickly in fear of wooyoung having a panic attack.

"no, i really w-wanna play." wooyoung shook his hands in the air, trying to shake the nerves out of his body. san noticed what the boy was doing and grabbed one of his hands, immediately feeling the younger's body relax a bit from his touch.

"if you say so. i just want you to have a good time. i promise, once we get there you'll calm down. i'll even buy you ice cream if you'd like!" san exclaimed and wooyoung shrieked, jumping up and down in his seat after hearing that ice cream was now in the deal.

"yay! i looove ice cream!" wooyoung dragged out his words as he spoke for emphasis.

"i know you do, my love." san stopped at a red light and turned his body to face the younger, leaning down to give his hand a quick but loving peck.

"sannie, you're the best." wooyoung smiled as san lifted his head, wooyoung blushing a dark shade of red.

"it's not possible for me to be the best when you exist." san pinched the boy's cheek, turning his body back around to drive as the light turned green again.

the rest of the car ride was silent, both boys having nothing to say to each other. they just sat and enjoyed each other's company.

a few minutes later, san parked the car in a parking lot. he turned the car off and unclicked his seat belt, wooyoung following the older's actions.

"we're here!" san exclaimed and stepped out of the car, running over to the other side to greet wooyoung as he stepped out of the passenger's side.

"i'm really excited! but to be honest, i've never played mini golf." wooyoung shook his head as the boy's made their way to get their golf clubs and golf balls.

"oh really? well, not to brag... but i'm pretty good at the game." san shrugged his arm, holding a smug smile on his face as he spoke.

"of course you're good at this game, you're good at everything!" wooyoung lightly hit san in the arm as he laughed, san laughing along with him as they approached the counter.

"two golf clubs for the eighteen hole course please?" san asked the older woman who was standing behind the counter.

"of course, young man. grab to clubs and check the sizes and pick whichever color balls you'd like. i'll ring it up right now." she spoke with a smile as she turned around and typed away at a cash register.

"here wooyoung, check to see if this size is good." san handed wooyoung the club and he held it in front of him, not knowing what the older meant by 'check the size'.

san noticed the struggling boy and chuckled a bit, taking the club from wooyoung and checking the size on himself.

"sorry baby, i forgot you said you've never played mini golf. this club is the perfect size for me, so it should be perfect for you as well." san handed wooyoung the club and took another one for himself.

"that'll be sixteen dollars please." the woman asked san kindly.

"ok, one second." san moved the club from his right to his left hand and dug into his back pocket, taking out his wallet and handing the woman the proper amount of money needed to pay for the both of them.

"sannie, should i pick a b-ball now?" wooyoung stuttered out his question, his voice filled with worry as he spoke.

"baby, there's no reason to worry right now. do you want me to grab it for you?" san spoke softly as he held tightly onto wooyoung's hand to calm the boy down. wooyoung nodded his head without opening his mouth, sniffling a bit as he did so.

"what color would you like? there's green, red, purple, pin--"

"pink please!" wooyoung suddenly screamed out, startling san a bit. san chuckled and grabbed the ball wooyoung wanted and handed it to the boy, taking a blue ball for himself.

"thank you, ma'am." san thanked the woman behind the counter and waved goodbye to her, wooyoung copying his actions as they walked away from her.

as wooyoung approached the mini golf course, he looked around the place feeling a bit intimidated. it was a lot bigger than he expected, and he wasn't sure if he'd be able to go through a full game without having a panic attack. rather than telling san about his panicky state, he kept it to himself, not wanting to ruin the date when san already paid for everything.

san immediately noticed wooyoung's uncomfortable stance and gave the boy a huge hug before starting at the first hole. he leaned down and gave wooyoung a sweet kiss on the cheek, relaxing the boy a bit in his place.

"wooyoung, there's nothing to worry about. i'm here for you, nothing is going to happen. i promise." san reassured the younger.

"i'm just... i'm scared i won't do well. this place is really intimidating!" wooyoung exclaimed and san chuckled, placing his golf ball down on the ground.

"baby, it's simple. all you have to do is place the ball down, look for the hole, line up your shot and..." san hit the ball lightly and earned a hole in one, "boom! the ball goes in. see?"

wooyoung stood with his mouth wide open in shock, "wow! that was so cool. i wanna try i wanna try i wanna try!" wooyoung jumped up and down, placing the ball down and taking a swing that was way too hard for the small sized court they were playing on.

thankfully, there was no water surrounding them because the ball flew high into the air and all the way over to the second hole. wooyoung put his hand to his mouth in shock and san laughed, running over to grab the ball and placing it in front of wooyoung once again.

"don't hit it so hard this time, try to keep the ball in the court you're playing in." san instructed wooyoung as he backed away for the boy to take another swing. wooyoung put his arm back and hit the ball, this time way too lightly.

"ugh! this is so frustrating!" wooyoung stomped his foot like a child, throwing the club down and crossing his arms in frustration when the golf ball only traveled two feet in front of him.

"here, let me help you." san picked up the club and handed it to wooyoung, moving behind him as he did so. san reached over wooyoung's body and grabbed the younger's hands in his own, guiding them to the correct spot on the club.

"ok baby, listen to me carefully. see the hole over there?" san pointed to the hole in front of them and wooyoung nodded his head, "we're going to try to get the ball in there. so what you have to do is wind up, not too much but not too little, and hit the ball." after san guided the younger, the ball rolled perfectly into the hole.

"sannie, you're amazing at this game!" wooyoung smiled widely, praising san as he did so.

"i told you that in the car. i don't lie, baby boy." san shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, grabbing wooyoung's hand in his own and walking with him to the next hole.

they picked up their golf balls and stopped at the next hole, doing the same thing as they did in the last one. rather than having san help him, wooyoung attempted to play this round all by himself. san got the ball in after only two shots, but wooyoung sadly took over a dozen before his fell in the small hole.

this continued on for several rounds, san getting the golf ball in the hole in under three shots each time and wooyoung never able to get out of double digits. this was driving wooyoung's anxiety crazy, triggering him more and more after each and every hole. he continued to feel a panic attack brewing, but he tried his best to stay composed.

"yes, a hole in one!" san cheered for what seemed like the hundredth time that night, walking over to the hole to pick up his ball out of it. wooyoung placed his down and tried to swing, shaking terribly as he did so.

come on wooyoung, you got this. it's not that hard, it's not that har—

wooyoung shot the ball and it flew up high, landing straight into the little man-made lake next to the hole. this tiny mess up set wooyoung over the edge, the boy suddenly falling to the ground and sobbing loudly as he did so.

san heard the loud sobs coming from wooyoung and immediately ran over, squatting down and grabbing the fragile boy off the ground. wooyoung's body resisted san's attempt, his legs too weak to hold up his heavy body.

"wooyoung, please... oh my god, wooyoung look at me please. baby, please look at me. oh god, i should've just taken you home..." san shook his head, heart breaking for the boy in front of him.

"i-i c-c-ca-can't s-st-st-st--" wooyoung tried to speak, but the words refused to leave his lips. he continued shaking, crying uncontrollably in san's arms.

san didn't know what to do. he had never dealt with someone having a panic attack. he rubbed the boy's back over and over in an attempt to calm him down, but it didn't seem to work much. suddenly, an idea popped into his head.

san quickly lifted the boy's face with his finger and gave wooyoung a long, meaningful kiss on the lips. wooyoung immediately stopped crying, body seeming to relax under san's magic touch. san deepened the kiss by placing his hand around wooyoung's neck, bringing him in closer to his own body.

the kiss was quick, but passionate. the two boys felt something in that kiss that they've never felt before in their entire lives.

eventually san backed away and stared into wooyoung's eyes with a goofy smile plastered on his face, both of their hearts beating out of their chests.

"are you feeling better now, my beautiful boy?" san asked and wooyoung nodded his head rapidly.

"yeah. uh, t-that was my first kiss. that was... that was amazing." wooyoung trailed off a bit, looking up from the ground and meeting san's gaze.

"you know, i was going to wait until the end of the night to ask this... but i think now would be more appropriate." san stood up and held his hand out for wooyoung to grab which he accepted, "would you, jung wooyoung, like to be my boyfriend?"

wooyoung smiled widely, jumping up and down while continuing to hold san's hand.

"yes! yes yes yes, one hundred times yes! i'd love to be your boyfriend, my beautiful sannie." wooyoung cheered loudly, grabbing san's body and hugging him tightly.

they stayed in that position for a few minutes, neither boy wanting to let go of the other. eventually, san was the one to back away, holding his hand out for his now boyfriend to grab onto.

"well let's go to the next hole now , my beautiful boyfriend." san smiled, emphasizing the 'boyfriend' and the end of his sentence as he took wooyoung to their next destination.
