"Aye you mobile?" D said on the other side of the line.

"I'm bout to be, wassup?" I asked

"I need four." He said and I nodded.

"Gotchu." I responded and hung up.

I went downstairs to my basement and unlocked the safe unit my pills were in grabbing four perc 10's and put them into a bag.

I also went to my weed safe unit and grabbed a zip and some sticks before locking everything back up and going back upstairs.

I grabbed my keys to my white 2023 dodge challenger Srt hellcat.

I closed and locked my front door going to my car and starting it up before putting in the address to D's house.

Pulling off my phone began to ring and I looked down answering it.

"Yo."

"Bubba can you take my to my nail appointment?" My 16 year old sister Kyla asked.

"Yeah what time is it?" I asked turning to the back streets so I can speed my way to D's house.

"In like a hour. Mama told me to ask you cause she got work." She said.

"I'll be there in like 30 minutes, you ate?"

"No, we can get some wing stop?" She asked.

"Yeah that's coo, I'll talk to you later love you."

"I love you too." She said and hung up.

I pulled up at D's driveway and called him on my other phone.

"Hello."

"I'm here."

"Aight here I come." He said and I hung up.

I grabbed the bag of the four pills and held them in my hand looking through the mirrors to make sure nobody was coming from behind me.

"Wassup boss man."

"Mane you olda than me. But here." I said handing him the bag.

He gave me a fifty dollar bill and I dug in my pocket to find a ten dollar bill to give back to him.

"Preciate it." He said taking the ten and walking away.

I facetimed Kyla and she answered on the third ring.

"Yes bubba?" She said brushing her hair.

"I'm finna be on the way so make sure you ready okay?"

"Yeah, let me go tell mama. Talk to you later love you."

"Love you too." I said and she hung up.

I pulled up into an empty parking lot and began to roll up my weed before cracking the windows and pulling off.

I lit the blunt and took three long pills from it before putting it out and wrapping it back up in a bag.

I reached in my glove compartment and grabbed the car spray to get rid of the smell and rolled down the passenger window.

Ten minutes later I pulled into my mama house and I got out the car walking to the door. I flipped to the house key and unlocked it walking in.

"Mama kairo here!" Kyla said seeing it was me.

"I'm finna get some to drink then I'm ready." I said and she nodded putting on her lip gloss.

I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge seeing a kaprisun, apple juice, and homemade koolaid. I grabbed the koolaid and got a cup before pouring some.

"Kairo boy you just come straight to the kitchen and don't even say hi to yo momma." My mom said coming in with her hand on her hip.

"I'm sorry, hey mama you look pretty." I said giving her a hug.

"Thank you, you look handsome. Yo hair need retwisted." She said reaching up to touch my dreads.

"I know I'm finding somebody that can do them for me. I had to fire the last girl cause she started hitting on me and stuff and ion like that." I said and she laughed.

"Now yo hair need done and you look homeless."

"I do not look homeless the hell." I said mugging her.

"Come onnn." Kyla said coming in the kitchen.

"Aight. Love you mama see you later."I said giving her another hug.

"Love you mama." Kyla said as we walked to the door.

"Love y'all too." She said and we walked out.

"Hey you staying too?" The nail tech girl lady said as she opened the door looking at me.

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Alright well could you please take your shoes off? You could leave them here or pick them up and take them with you but if you're not comfortable taking them off you can leave them on." She said and Kyla took her crocs off.

I eyed her floor before taking my shoes off too putting them next to Kyla's.

"Your hair is so pretty." Kyla complimented her, the girl smiled.

"Thank you so is yours. How much you pay?" She asked as we started walking.

"90." Kyla said and I shook my head.

"Damn, girl you getting ripped off. 90 for box braids is crazy. I ca do em for you for 40." She said and I raised my eyebrow.

"You do hair too?" I asked as we walked down to her basement.

"Yeah, I can retwist your hair too today if you would like. If you want me to show you some of my work I can. I don't do hair as much as I do nails but I'm still good at it." She said and I nodded.

"For how much?"

"Fifty cool?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows. I nodded sitting on the couch she had.

Her little office area was nice and well put together. I can tell she liked to keep it clean she had a candle lit and everything.

About a hour later she finished my sisters nails and my sister looked at them with the biggest smile on my face.

"These are cute look bubba." She said showing me.

"Yea they cute." I said nodding.

"Did you want yo hair done too?" She asked looking at me I licked my lips and nodded at her.

"Alright will it be okay if I go upstairs real quick and go check on my daughter I'll be like less than ten minutes. I got water in that fridge and like hella snacks in that closet right there so if y'all want anything you can get it. The remote to the tv is right there, I'll be back." She said pointing at everything and walked out.

About seven minutes later she came back downstairs with a bucket of hair supplies in her hand.

"Okay ima have you sit in the chair your sisters in and then ima do em. Okay?" She said and I nodded.

"I'll go wait in the car cause I'm tired anyways." Kyla said and I handed her the keys.

"If you get cold and turn my car on tell me." I said and she nodded standing up.

"I will."

"Alright bye pretty girl." The lady said.

"What's your name?" I asked her sitting down.

"Aunusti, yours?" She said putting all of my dreads except for the back row into a ponytail.

"Kai. Did we go to school together or sum cause I know your name from somewhere and you look a lil familiar." I said

"Ummm I'm not sure, maybe you know some of the people I used to hang around in high school like Tatianna and Hailey." She said and I nodded.

I used to date Tatianna back in high school.

"Oh yeah back in our sophomore year I used to be Tatianna boyfriend." I said as she used the comb to start twisting my hair back up.

"Which one?" She said and laughed. I laughed a little too.

Tatianna was a lil hoe in high school and that's why I fucked wit her. I never been the type to really be committed to a relationship. I know how to treat women but I just don't like to be in a relationship for real.

"So you got a daughter?" I asked and she hummed a yes response.

"Yep had her at 19."

"You and your babydaddy still together?"

"Um no we were never together. It was more of an acquaintance with benefits type relationship and it resulted into a daughter. We both coparent and have been for four years." She said and I nodded.

"That's wassup."

"You got a kid?"

"No ion be fuckin." I said and she started laughing.

"Why you say it like that? You could've said you celibate or sum. But type shit." She said.

"Aight how much for the nails and my hair?" I asked standing up.

"Um $100." She said putting everything back popping her fingers.

I grabbed out a hundred and a twenty dollar bill before handing it to her.

"Here you go ma. Can you put your number in my phone so I can come to you for retwists?" I said and she nodded.

"Yeah, that's fine." She said and I handed her my business phone and let her put her number in.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome tell your sister I said bye and have a nice night."

"You too." I said and she waved as I walked out the door.
