Somehow Mari did it within ten minutes, she successfully cut out the triangle. She flinched every time the gun was shot and looked at the candy concerned like it broke but she raised her triangle up to show the guard. "Player 029, pass" As Mari was led back out of the oversized playground she looked around to try to find Ji-yeong but she couldn't. She sighed and wrapped her arms around herself hoping that Ji-yeong would walk through that door.

As she started to walk toward her bed she glanced over to see Kang Sae-byeok and decided to go sit next to her. she didn't know why she was drawn to the girl but Mari was. "That was scary huh?" Mari chuckles humorlessly as she leaned against the railing of the bed. "It was, but we made it through," Sae-byeok said humorlessly as she brought her legs up to her chest. "Can I sit?" Mari asks nodding towards the spot next to Sae-byeok instead of responding she shrugged before nodding which Mari thought was progress.

Mari couldn't help but keep glancing as people walked into the room and was beginning to grow increasingly more worried that Ji-yeong has came through that door yet. "Are you looking for someone?" Sae-byeok asks as she lowers her legs away from her face so Mari can see her better. "Yea, but they should come through that door." It was as if they knew that Mari was growing worried because one of the next few people to walk through that door was Ji-yeong, the sight of her made Mari release a big deep breath but she didn't run to her instead she stayed on Sae-byeok's bunk, the girl didn't seem to mind so Mari was going to stay. "We will now announce the results of the second game." The electronic voice said.

The two girls watched as the lights started to dim and the board started to go down in numbers and the money they earn goes up. "Out of 187 players, 79 have been eliminated." Mari moved her eyes from the board to the giant piggy bank that was attached to the ceiling in the middle of the room, she was in amazement as she watched the money fall into the pot. The stack was beginning to grow. "7.9 billion won has been accumulated in this round. The prize money accumulated so far is 34.8 billion won." Mari's breath caught when she heard how much money they earned so far. "That's a lot of money," Mari says as she looks at Sae-byeok who nods in shock. When Sae-byeok opened her mouth to respond the electronic voice interrupted her. "Your mealtime begins now. All Players, please line up in the center."

Mari looks at Sae-beyok confused but they both hop off the bunk bed and start to get in line, it seemed like the both of them weren't expecting to get food so soon but Mari guesses it makes sense so they can have energy for whatever the next challenge is. Mari looks at the egg and soda that was offered to her confused but she takes it and walks back over to Sae-byeok's bunk, she unwraps her egg and starts to eat. "We prepared the exact amount of food for each player." Mari heard the guard at the front robotically say, she lifts a brow as she looks down at the center of the room to see 5 people waiting in line but there not being any more food. "Then why don't you have any left? Give me my food!"

The reached forward to grab the guard by the collar, the guard beside him pulled out a gun and pointed it at his head. "We prepared the exact amount of food for each player." The guard repeated in the same monotone robotic voice that Mari was getting tired of hearing. "Do you think they have emotions?" Mari can't help but ask talking in a whisper to Sae-byeok who looked surprised by the question. "Who the guards?" When Mari nods Sae-byeok continues talking. "I don't know if they're even human," Sae-byeok says as she unwraps her egg and starts to take small bites of it to give her the illusion that it will make her full but they both know that this isn't enough to go on.

"Excuse me." Mari looked down the stairs to a woman who was sitting in the front as she stood up. "Those people... They took the food twice. I saw them." The woman pointed to a group of people, the one that was fighting Sae-beyok before and the one that Mari saw talking with Sae-byeok. "Damn it-" The rest was muffled for Mari because of how far away he was and was talking with his mouthful. The two of them watched as the guy who had the gun pulled on him walked toward them and pointed at them. "Why are you stealing other people's food?" As they watched the scene go down Mari popped open the soda once she was finished with her egg and began to drink.

"Oh, this is yours? What's your name? Is your name written on this? I don't see it." 101 says as he waves the bottle around, Mari blinked and as soon as she opened her eyes 271 was trying to grab the bottle from 101. "Give it back. It's mine. Give it back to me!" They struggled before the shatter of glass rang throughout the building, Mari looked at Sae-byeok frozen. "You fucking broke the bottle!" 101 yelled as he grabbed 271 by the collar and reared his hand back to punch him in the mouth. "How come a scrawny fucker like you is so obsessed with food?" 101 taunts as he moves over to 271 who was holding his cheek as he was laying on the ground.

Mari was about to get up but Sae-byeok stopped her with a hand on her arm. 101 reared his foot back and kicked 271 in the stomach before doing it again. "Hey, I'm trying to say that we need to share. Is that so hard?" Mari looked at Sae-byeok face full of fear. "He killed him." Mari was ready to go down the stairs but Sae-byeok stopped her. "He'll kill you if you do something to stop him, trust me."

She wrapped her arms around herself as she watched a guy walk towards him and try to wake him up but he had no success. He moved his hand across his neck and checked his pulse before he looked at his friend who started to yell to the guards. "Hey! A man's dead!"
