Shadow shivered as he watched the sun sink lower and lower onto the horizon. When night came, he would be in trouble.

Whenever he thought of someone, he would be transported into their dreams. How awkward would that be?

Sahara settled on the rocky cliff that she called her bed. A frilly but beautiful handmade carpet draped over the edges of the cliff.

"Goodnight, Shadow. I hope you like it here as much as I do." The SandWing yawned.

Shadowsong's heart lurched. If only he could feel the same way Sahara did about this school.

Shadowsong yawned. He had been awake since sundown.

If he fell asleep, he would be in Sahara's dreams. If only he didn't think about her.

Oh no.

His world went fuzzy and black. And then he felt a heatwave pass over his scales.

"Oh my moons-" Shadow grabbed bunches of sand in his talons, nearly wincing at the shear pain from the heat.

A little dot dove downwards. It was Sahara. "Shadow! I didn't expect you to be here!"

Shadow froze. "Um...yeah. Just a dream."

That was stupid, Shadowsong!  Telling her you were in a dream was like telling a pineapple you were going to eat it!

"Cool!" Sahara didn't seem to suspect a thing. "Ah, that thing on your forehead is glowing again." She booped his forehead with a claw gently.

Shadowsong couldn't help but grin. Under those dark blue scales, there was scales as pink as blush.

Shadow took a step back. "It...it does that."

Think, Shadow! Think! What can get you out of this?

What about thinking of someone else....

Nightseeker!

Shadow shut his eyes and hoped for the best. And now he was back to normal, in his cave staring at the ceiling.

"Nightseeker probably isn't asleep." Shadow sighed. He didn't want to be trapped in her mind anyways.

He turned his head to see the SeaWing, Flow, from before. She was staring wide-eyed at Shadowsong. He scrambled to his feet.

"Flow, hi!" He whispered. "Sahara's asleep, if you want her-"

Flow let out a wail of horror, lashing her tail in fear and confusion. "Possessed NightWing!"
