In order to qualify for a position as one of Emerald's sons, one must meet at least three of the following requirements:

- Unnatural hair color

- Doesn't fit in with his family

- Seems intimidating at first

- But is actually a huge dork

- CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

- Is deeply loyal to those he cares about

- Has a crush on the main girl character/a relative of the main character

- Has burns/scars on face

- Possesses a magical object

- Isn't a people person

- Glasses

- Adopts his friends as his own children

- Tends to be sassy and/or sarcastic

- Has a horrible father

- Enjoys reading

- AMAZING CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

- Is pretty

- Is musically talented

- Stands up for his friends against jerky family

- Is either really tall

- Or really small

- Has owned and controlled a chaotic robot at least once

- Really needs an attitude adjustment

- Acts as a villain at first but then betrays a Big Bad before switching sides

- Is protective

- Has a (probably fake) accent that doesn't fit in with the setting

- Undergoes the enemy-to-awkward-ally-to-beloved-member-of-the-family trope

- Needs a vacation

- Has horrible decision making skills

- Is named Gideon
