DAY SIX PART ONE
Waiting was never a strong suit. When Eric wanted something, he wanted it then and there. He didn't want to wait for it, he didn't want to send off for it and he most certainly did not want to be told when he could have that something, especially if that when is a period quite some time away. So, having not slept much more than a couple of hours during the night, Eric was not going to wait to be told when or where he could see his good buddy Mike and Mike's partner Ellen again. Eric was going to get things sorted and he was going to do that once the morning light had shown itself and not only that, but Audrey would be going along too.
Audrey, though wasn't that the point? Isn't it Audrey that these unknown government bureau people want? Weren't they doing what they were doing to get at Audrey? Well, they indeed were about to get Audrey but possibly not quite in the way they would want or expect. Eric may want his friends back but in no way did he want it to come at the cost of surrendering Audrey.
Eric was also not going to wait to be contacted, once he and Audrey were ready, off they go. Where they went to was to the local public park and despite the early morning hour, the place as a whole was and is well populated. Eric could feel it and he knew Audrey could sense it too, they knew they were being watched so with that logic, they knew contact was and would not be too far away.
'They are here' spoke Audrey.
'Can you see them?' asks Eric.
'Yeah, they are coming in from our left.'
'Are you ready?'
'Ready ... time to rock this place.'
Those two government strangers were indeed approaching Eric and Audrey from their left side, and as these men approached music began to play at quite a decibel level. The music seemed to be coming from all around rather than from one point in particular. The song being played is that of Counting Stars by One Republic and as it did play out people all around began reacting to it as if a flash dance mob had converged on this public park.
Reaction began with a slow almost robotic march, lines of people moving in one direction or another. When the song kicks in, then the dancing starts just as if everyone is working in unison. There is a strong power in operation here. Just what exactly is Audrey?
The two government men have no idea of what to make of all this. The first of these two men definitely has no idea of what to make of things, especially when his partner begins to dance, as this partner strangely finds that he is unable to control himself, so he has no choice but to give in to the overwhelming feeling to move to the music. Even the look thrown at him by the non-dancing partner is not enough to deter him from moving to the music.
Audrey begins to move, not in a manner of dance but in as away from where she currently is, and Eric follows. The government men also follow, one of whom does so almost against his will, all he wants to do is remain right where he is and continue in on the dancing. What makes it all the more difficult for these two men to follow Eric and Audrey is the fact that the dancing public keep getting in the way, at one stage ... dancers even surround the men in a circle of a jumping frenetic kind.
Finding Mike and Ellen is not too difficult of a challenge. Audrey's ability to make connections also makes it easy to acquire information, imagine what this ability could be used for if and when it were to fall into the wrong hands. Mike and Ellen are found and freed with ease. They were to be used as bait, currency for a trade but such is not to be. Before the music and dancing cease to be, Audrey has one thing left to do and that is to confront the two not so friendly government strangers.
'Do not come for me again. I am passive by nature, but I can get rough when I am threatened, you will not get what you want, so do not even try following. Leave me and those I am with, let them be. There will be no further warning.'
With that the park dancers continue to block the movement of these men, yeah, they are indeed unable to follow. Once Eric, Audrey, Mike, and Ellen leave the park the music stops, as does the dancing well most of it anyway. The second government agent continues to bop away on his own for a moment or two until once again he receives a vicious look from his partner. Around the park life goes on as if nothing had happened at all.
'Now that was awesome' speaks Eric.
'I don't mean to be a prude' speaks Ellen, 'but can someone fill me in on what the hell is happening? What is it that I don't know?'
The other three share a smile. It is time to bring Ellen up to speed. When they are sure that they are no longer being observed Eric speaks.
'Alright Audrey, how about showing her?'
Audrey morphs into one rather large moving plant complete with vines and a rather human like plant head, with rose red painted lips and all.
'Wow' speaks Mike.
Ellen faints, leaving Audrey to speak while still being in plant form.
'Was it something I said?'
