The Letter ✉️

I opened up the refrigerator, searching for my secret tub of ice cream I always kept hidden way in the back where none of the boys could find it.

They always seemed to get hungry during rehearsals, and then accidentally end up eating all my snacks.

I drummed my nails on the handle as I krept up on my tip toes scanning the back of the freezer.

"Dangit! Where the heck is it!?"

I whisper yelled as I reached back rummaging through all the packages of frozen dinners and desserts.

"Where the heck is what?"

I gasped suddenly closing the freezer door and leaning up against it.

My breath hitched seeing John standing there with a satisfied smirk plastered on his face.

"John! You!"

John shot me a wild look and gave me a smirk.

"Your gonna welcome me by hitting me over the head with a spoon?"

My jaw dropped and I gulped looking at the spoon held up in my hand.

"John... "

I whispered my voice trailing off.

"Wait a minute.... John!"

I threw the spoon behind me mindlessly, getting a giggle from John as I jumped up and embraced.  him.

"Oh my God your back!"

John laughed and hugged me back tight, as he set me down on my feet.

"Yeah we're back."

I laughed excitedly as I brushed my bangs out of my eyes, and pulled myself back together.

"But- but how?"

"We couldn't leave our little Ringo here all alone without adult supervision now could we?"

He laughed and I punched him on the shoulder playfully.

"Very funny. So where's the rest of the boys?"

I replied scanning the room.

"Hello there beautiful."

I felt two arms snake around my waist and someone's chin sitting on my shoulder.

"Paul your such a flirt, get off of 'er you bloke."

John grabbed his arms and removed them from around my waist.

I laughed as I turned around to see Paul with his hands up in the air, smiling guiltily.

"Sorry Ell, I forgot how jealous Ringo gets."

I laughed as we embraced each other, me welcoming him back.

John made a 'humph' sound and rolled his eyes at Paul's remark.

"Hey who left a spoon on the ground?

I could have used it to make me a piping hot bowl of soup."

I parted from Paul, to see low and behold George Harrison standing up with the spoon in his hand.

"Uh, you might want to put that back down George, or miss scareds-o-lot might try and hit you over the head with it."

John commented smartly.

I rolled my eyes hitting him in the stomach.

"Oh screw off Lennon."

George smiled his fangs showing as he wrapped me in a warm hug.

"Hi Georgie, I'm so glad you're back home I've missed you so much."

I said, emphasizing on the  word you're and you, as I looked back at John giving him an evil smirk.

John dropped his jaw then covered his mouth, and began to fan himself as he walked into the living room acting mortified.

"I'm glad to be back Ellie, it was really fun while it lasted, but after a bit you just want to be able to come back home and sleep in you're own bed y'know?"

I nodded and sighed, thinking of how hard it must have been for them to sleep, when I could barely sleep well in my own bed while they were gone.

Or more while Ringo was.

George looked around the room and furrowed his eyebrows.

"Is everything alright George?"

I questioned also scanning the section of the general area George was looking in.

"Yeah, its just, well where's Ringo at?"

I sighed and nodded my head understanding now.

"He went grocery shopping, he should be back soon."

I said as I checked my wrist watch.

"Oh, speaking of Ringo, did he act okay, y'know without me and all?"

"Nope."

Paul replied shaking his head.

"He was miserable."

Added John as he looked through a tigerbeat magazine.

"Depressed."

Paul said quickly as he walked over to make himself some tea.

"Such a poor sight to see."

John said looking up for a moment thoughtfully.

"Yes, the poor lad."

Paul replied, pouring the milk into his cup.

I rolled my eyes and let my arms fall to my sides, as I let out a exasperated sigh.

"Good grief, forget I even asked."

I said waving a hand at them.

I sat down by John, but only to get back up to answer a knock on the door.

"Ellie! Hey babe could you come open the door?"

John turned and faced towards the door cupping his hands around his mouth.

"Of course honey cakes I'll be right there!"

I punched John in the shoulder as he laughed and I went to answer the door.

"Shut up John."

I replied giggling.

I opened the door, and Ringo stood there grinning from ear to ear.

"Hey baby."

He whispered, as he wrapped his arms around my waist, crashing our lips together.

He peeked for a quick moment, giving John a smirk.

Then creating the kiss even deeper, dipping me down.

I squealed, and let out a laugh.

John opened up the magazine covering his face.

"Ugh, get a room, or a curtain or something."

We all burst out laughing as Ringo brought me back up.

"Oh John don't act like you and Cynthia weren't like this."

John laughed and shut the magazine as he gave us cheeky grin.

"You're right, we were way worse than you two."

I covered my mouth with one of my hands and wheezed at John's dirty joke.

Ringo gave John a look, and shook his head.

"You're sick Lennon, you know that, sick!"

John shrugged his shoulders blowing Ringo off.

"What can I say, birds love me."

George rolled his eyes taking a sip of tea.

"Ain't that the truth."

Paul squinted at John and folded his arms.

"Trying to take my spot aye?

I've always been the ladies man."

I laughed as I picked up a bag of groceries and brought them inside.

"Don't worry Paulie, even if you're not all the ladies men, you can always be mine."

"Hey!"

Ringo yelled over at me.

"What happened to me?"

I laughed and rolled my eyes jokingly.

"I'm just kidding Ritchie."

Paul smiled turning around and taking my hands in his.

"Thank you my darling, at least someone appreciates me."

Paul said sticking his tounge out at John.

John shook his head and laughed to himslelf, as he once again began to flip through the magazine.

George walked over to me taking the grocery bags from my hands.

"Here love, I'll help Ringo with these you go sit down."

I smiled and kissed George on the cheek lightly.

"Thank you Georgie."
*************************

"Oh Ellie, that dinner was absolutely delicious love, thank you so much."

I giggled as I picked up plates off the table.

"You're welcome Paulie.

I thought you lads could use a home cooked meal, after grabbing whatever you could fine for three months. "

George nodded his head and laid a hand on his full stomach.

"True that Ell. This was amazing."

George complemented as the lads got up and moved into the living room to visit.

I smiled as I watched them all move into the living room and sit down.

It was so great to have all of us back together.

I missed all of them so much, and it just made me so happy to know we were all together safe.

Where no one could harm us.

Not even Jay....

I turned on the tap to hot as I filled up the sink with hot water, to start washing dishes.

As I began to scrub a plate Ringo moved in beside me and took the plate from my hands when I was done, then dried it, and set it in te cabnit.

"Thank you for the dinner Ell. It was fantastic."

I smiled and handed him another plate, as he dried it.

"You're welcome Ritchie, but you really don't need to thank me, I enjoy it, it makes me happy."

He smiled comfortingly and put the plate in the cabnit.

From that point we washed the dishes silently and every now and then he would "accidentally" bump into me, planting a light kiss.

Once we finished, we joined the rest of the lads.

It was starting to get cold outside, so John and Paul started a nice warm fire.

I snuggled up against Ringo and stared into the fire as John played some songs lightly on the guitar.

"Hey Ell, mind if I ask you a question?"

I looked up at John sleepily.

"Hmm? Oh yeah, sure what is it?"

John continued to play softly as he thought deeply.

"Well Ringo here tells me you can sing, that true?"

I looked up at Ringo confused, he sunk down in the couch and bit the inside of his cheek.

"Um... "

I said and laughed lightly uncomfortable.

"Ellie, you have an amazing voice."

Ringo blurted out.

I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"How do you know what my voice sounds like?"

I questioned.

He cleared his throat and sat back up.

"Do you remember the day we told each other that... We loved each other?"

I sighed, all the memories rushing back.

The piano, my song.

Everything.

"You sing like an angel."

I blushed lightly and smiled shyly.

"Well, now that the truth is out maybe we could hear a bit of this angelic voice?"

Paul asked tilting his head a bit.

I gasped lightly and shook my head.

"Oh, no, no I don't think so."

They all frowned and shook their heads.

"Come on Ell. Please?"

Ringo nuged me.

I looked at all their expressions, full of hope.

"Ugh, listen what if I did sing for you.

But it would have to be a special occasion."

John looked around at all the lads.

They nodded in agreement.

"Alright, as long as you promise?"

George said.

I nodded and snuggled up closer to Ringo.

"I promise."

We all sat their for another hour or two.

Not saying very much.

Just sitting there by the fireside, the boys every now and then playing or singing a song lightly.

After a while Paul went and got out the wine, and we all had a glass, except for John of course who had a couple more.

"Oh, Ellie, Ringo, thank you so much for the dinner and wonderful night.

But I think me and the lads better get going.

John's on his fifth cup of wine."

I giggled and nodded.

"Thank you George, we will see you tomorrow."

I stood up and embraced him, he smiled and kissed my forehead before heading out with Paul and John following a bit tipsy behind.

I sat back down and Ringo grinned and I laid my head in the crook of his neck.

He sighed and wrapped his arm around me, our noses touching.

We sat there the fire crackling in the background, as he pecked my lips.

He reached up and held my cheek in his hands, as he planted small kisses on my lips.

"I love you."

He whispered moving my hair out from behind my ear.

"Hmm, I love you too."

I could feel his breath on the back of my neck, as his full lips started kissing a line down my neck.

I smiled lightly as I leaned into him and intertwined our hands.

His soft kisses came up my neck and to my jaw.

I turned my head locking our lips together.

Goosebumps rose up on my skin as he sucked on my bottom lip.

Slowly we parted and our noses touching still gently together.

"I love you Ritchie."

He smiled kissing my nose.
"I love you too. Well... Its getting late. Ready to get to sleep?"

I nodded.

"Yeah, but you go ahead and head up, I'll be there in a minute."

He stood up rubbing his hand down my arm.

"You sure?"

I nodded holding his hand.

"Okay."

He bent down kissing my cheek gently.

"Goodnight Elise."

I watched as he walked up the stairs and to bed.

He smiled down at me lightly before he shut the door.

I sighed and sat there by the fire, my mind at ease.

I'm safe.

I've never felt like this.

But I'm so happy, I could cry, and most of all I'm safe.
Suddenly the mail hatch clinked, and I turned my head seeing a letter laying on the floor.

I furrowed my eyebrows and stood wrapping a blanket around my shoulders.

I walked slowly over to the door and bent down picking up the frail piece of paper.

Why is there a letter getting here this late at night?

Mail man had a long run today maybe?.... But till midnight?

I squinted to see the writing on the front.

Mrs. Ellie Ray Preist.

For me?

I thought.

But no one except the boys knows I live here.

I looked at the return address my heart pounding.

Mr. Jayson Hackett.

My whole body began to tremble.

I dropped the letter and backed away, my blood draining from my body.

He found me.
