A lonely road at a good speed with sun rays lightening the features of your boyfriend Doctor Stephen Strange, proving to you he could still drive despite the loss of the stability of his hands. Then his warming blue eyes settled on you and the smile which drives you crazy spread on his face. He was glad until the worse happened. You don't remember much, except the screech of tyres and the attempt of Stephen to get back the control of the car but it only led to the pit in the middle of nowhere. When you woke up, the airbag had been spread out and you tried to wake Stephen up. " Stephen? Are you okay? " No sound was heard except your panting breathing. You quickly grabbed your phone and called 911.
You know how I get when the sun goes down
How it feels when no one's around
I know, I know-oh-oh-oh
I know, I know-oh-oh
I get kind of lost and I can't see straight
Hate it but it's just what we take
I know, I know-oh-oh-oh
I know, I know-oh-oh
He had taken the road again, driving in his expensive car to go to God knows where. I argued about using the Portals but he said he needed to do it for himself. That he still could do it despite his hands. You know you should of stop him. You loved him so much it hurts sometimes. You were together for a few months now but since he had had this accident, you felt pain and loneliness invading your life. He was back at the hospital, a thousand threads related to his arms, trying to keep him alive. It wasn't as bad as the first time but he got broken ribs, a concussion and something else but you didn't remember the name. You used to visit him every day, and sometimes Wong came with you but something had broken in him. You knew it. Fortunately, you had gotten only bruises and scratches during the car accident but Stephen blamed himself for that. You tried to tell him it wasn't his fault but he was so stubborn! Now, you felt alone in your house, missing his presence in your bed, in the morning, every day. You wanted to feel home again and the only one who was able to make you feel like that was stuck at the hospital.
I've been bitten by the lonely
But when I'm not the only
When I'm, when I'm not the only
One who feels it, maybe it's sick to say
But it helps that you feel the same
I know, I know-oh-oh
When the lights go out
That day, you visited him, trying to cheer up your beloved boyfriend with a homemade meal. You put a nice dress just for him with some makeup. It wasn't too much to draw in looks but just enough for him to look at you. When you reached the door, you took a deep breath and knocked. You heard him said " Come in" and you opened the door. Your breath got caught in your throat when you see how much pain he had to endure. However, his face seemed to lighten at your coming. You smiled warmly at him and pecked him on the lips. He hummed in delight and asked:
" What does it smell so good?"
You smirked at him and removed your coat. Stephen looked at you with wide eyes, eyeing your curved and he had to fight the urge to hold you against him with his hands wandering on your body.
" I prepared your favourite meal and brought it to you to cheer you up" You settled two plates with forks and knives. You grabbed the movable table and sat on the end of the bed to face Stephen. Latter was looking at you with sparks in his eyes and you caressed his cheeks before bringing his face to yours, gently kissing him.
We're glowing in the dark
We started from a spark
We're lights that never go out
Like we've never been down
Glowing in the dark
We'll light up Central Park
We're lights that never go out
Cause you're here with me now
The kiss slowly deepened when Stephen's tongue stroked your lower lips asking entrance. You smiled into the kiss and opened your mouth to let him in. A battle for dominance began between the two of you and you raised yourself on your knees ( still on the bed) to snake your arms around his neck. However, he groaned in pain at your attempt and you quickly removed yourself.
" Oh God, I'm sorry !Your ribs!"
He rushed your apologies with a wave of his hands and said to you " Never apologise for a kiss love"
You blushed at his words and started to settle your homemade meal. You both ate, talking, laughing at jokes and your heart warmed again at the feeling Stephen was here with you. You felt at home again.
Dark days but it's alright
So fine, every night
Oh-oh, whoa
We're glowing in the dark
We started from a spark
We're lights that never go out
Like we've never been down
Glowing in the dark
When you went back home, you straightened your coat around you, the cold wind blowing in the air. You had passed your whole afternoon with him and your mood was so much better than before. You reached your house and let your bags and coat fell on the ground. This place was so cold without him. You directly went back to bed, snuggling in your sheets trying to feel the smell of Stephen in the sheets. Sleep wrapped you in a dark embrace until you woke up the next morning. You opened your eyes, rubbing your sleepy eyes. You watched the clock 9.00 and quickly got out of bed. You had dreamt of Stephen and you practising again the Mystic Arts in the Sanctum of New York like you used to do before the accident. And you smiled at the memory. You did your morning routine before getting ready to see Stephen again.
Doin' 2 AM, way above the clouds
Rooftop, yeah, we're just hanging out
I know, I know-oh-oh-oh
I know, I know-oh-oh
Now we're looking down like we got no fear
We got dreams and they start right here
I know, I know-oh-oh-oh
I know, I know-oh-oh
Loneliness was the friend you hated the most. It was too silent, too cold, too dead. You walked to the hospital, your eyes stuck on the road when you suddenly felt an icy touch stroked your cheek. It was so gentle, so full of love you knew it was him. Immediately, you stopped in your tracks and raised your head up. You looked around you, seeing nothing more than the crowd and unfamiliar faces. Your heart had suddenly sped up and you quickly kept on your walk to the hospital. You didn't bother to knock before entering Stephen's room. You just burst out in the room, a Stephen on feet and trying to change his shirt. You saw the white gauze around his ribs and you bit your lips in an attempt to not cry.
We get bitten by the lonely
But we're not the only
Yeah we're, yeah we're not the only
Once you know the way to get through the night
Is to bring on a little bright
I know, I know-oh-oh
When the lights go out
" It was you, isn't it?" you asked hesitantly, " You used astral projection to watch me, right?"
He scratched the back of his head, embarrassed.
" I know, you don't like to be invaded like that, but I needed to be sure you ..." You cut him off by jumping into his arms and kissed him roughly as if it was your last breath. He quickly kissed you back despite the pain in his ribs but held you tightly against him. He will never let you go.
" Thank you, Stephen" You explained him" I needed it. I felt so lonely when I wasn't with you. I wanted to be home. You're my home, Stephen."
We're glowing in the dark
We started from a spark
We're lights that never go out
Like we've never been down
Glowing in the dark
We'll light up Central Park
We're lights that never go out
Cause you're here with me now
Dark days but it's alright
So fine, every night
Oh-oh, whoa
We're glowing in the dark
He put his chin above your head, stroking your hair while you put your hands around his waist. " I' m always with you, Y/N."
