"You're serious?!" Luke asked again for the fifth time. "I mean, didn't we already die?"

"Sort of. You're in a sort of coma, like Fallen said before Death came in. You would have seen Spirit if you died. So, if someone finds a way to revive you two, I can lead you back. Until then, you have to be careful." She quieted to start licking Luke and Sylvia's arms where they'd been sliced by Fallen's "henchmen".

"They did that to you, too?"

"Y-Yeah..."

Sylvia and Luke shared a special moment for a few minutes and then Luke embraced her in a hug and said, "I've missed this. You, me, silence, and hugs."

Sylvia smirked. "You forgot s-something..."

Luke then kisses her. "No I didn't..."

Life smiled awkwardly and asked, "Do you want me to leave...?" They didn't answer, and she turned and sat outside the cave, her eyes gazing at the sky of stars.

Sylvia blushed, showing she was embarrassed, "I-It's fine. We were just-ah nevermind, you can come back now." Luke was also blushing, in which he was also embarrassed.

"I apologize, I didn't mean to fluster you two..." She turned towards them, her tail swaying in between her legs. "Now, you two can stay here, or you can go meet with others in the Middlegrounds. What is your choice?"

"I... want to s-stay here..." Sylvia murmured.

"Sylv, are you sure we should stay here? We have so much more to experience in life. I want to have a life with you Sylv, I love you and want to start a life with you...."

"I mean for the rest of the night," Life laughed. "You can meet with other people in this state of unconsciousness or you can just stay here, alone together. And," she added, "you may want to keep thinking, keep living before you make too big a jump. No one needs you falling." She winked at Luke, who flushed red again.

Sylvia, interrupting the fluster on Luke's face, said, " Let's go see our families."

Life looked unsure. "I warn you now, Spirit may have taken them to the Skyline already. From there, there is no revival. They cannot return to the Middlegrounds."

"O-Oh okay then can you let us be alone for tonight?" Sylvia asked Life.

"Sure, you two have a lot of catching up to do, I can tell." Life says, then walks to the entrance of the cave, staring up into the starry sky. "I'll guard, make sure that none of the Unwanteds come back at you. It's very rare, but it happens. I may leave every once in a while to retrieve another person and bring them here."

"That's alright," Luke mumbled.

"What's wrong, Luke?" Sylvia asked with worry in her voice.

"I wanted to tell you....I was acting weird on that day when you were in the cop car. I trusted that you wouldn't do anything stupid, but I just got jealous....I love you Sylvia Stellward." Luke said, with tears in his eyes. Sylvia then embraced him in a hug. He was cold but his heart was warm.

"You want me safe... but... sometimes... you have to accept what happens sometimes. D-Don't worry! I don't like him. He... said some things that made me want to jump off the bike and run to you, but what good would that do?"

"What kind of things?"

"Just going fast... complimenting me... flirting every few minutes. I got scared. He was a stranger..." She clung to his dirty, torn shirt, tears of anxiety rolling off her cheeks.

"It's okay, now, Sylv. You are safe." He said as he ran his hands through her hair. "You're safe."
