Neil : Dii ne Aapko sab Bata dia na.. mujhe pata nahi kyu laga hi tha woh aapko bata degi.. I kinda felt a connection with you when i came here.. Aur mujhe hi aisa laga hai to dii ko to lagega hi.. Isiliye bata dia aapko haina! Hum kisi pe trust nahi karte.. Dii ne aap pe kia hai.. (Getting teary) isse todna mat please.. Nahi to woh issbar mar jayegi.. Aur main bhi..

Saying all these, he was leaving from there..

Kartik (wiping his tears) : Ek minute! I need some details.. Please mana mat karna.. (Holding his hands) and i promise you, you can trust me.. Ek anch tak nahi aane dunga tum dono pe abse main..

Neil just nodded..

Kartik : Accha tell me one thing, i don't want to bother Naira anymore with all these.. So tumhe puch raha hu tum logo ne rape case file kia thi?

Neil : Kia tha na.. Par kuch nahi hua uska.. Aise hi pada hai report police file mein! kabhi kabhi bulata hai.. Abhi bhi case chal raha hai.. Mar jayenge lekin justice nahi milega.. Harsh reality bhaiya!!

Kartik was feeling disgusted hearing all these..

Kartik : Tum mujhe details bataoge please.. I mean kab hua tha kab report file kia tha aur kaunse PS mein..

Neil : Kyun?

Kartik : Please.. Kuch mat pucho.. Bass trust karo mujhpe.. Aisa kuch nahi karunga jisse tumlogo ko problem ho..

Neil looked at him.. and he felt like he can tell him those details.. he told all those Kartik asked for..

Neil (teary eyed) : We were almost children when our parents died in a car accident.. Both of them.. Uske baad our uncle and aunt used to take care of us.. Hum unke saath rahne lage.. When she was 16 she got raped when she was coming back from tuition at night.. woh log dii ko wohi chodke gaye the jahan se kidnap kia tha.. (sobbing and his voice choking) She was taken to the hispital.. Uncle aunty got to know.. Mujhe to utna samjh bhi nahi aata tha.. Phir humne report file ki.. Par jaisa maine kaha nothing progressed.. Phir hum dono bade hone lage aur dii ne khud se hi kaha ki hum akele rah sakte hai abb apne ghar mein.. Uncle denied at first but then gave in.. Uncle aunty aate hai milne kabhi Kabar.. aur humein financially help bhi unhi se milti hai.. Aur Ronnie pe dii ne trust kia tha par woh jo kar raha hai.. (Sigh)

Kartik was having hard time digesting all these together..

Kartik : Aur tumpe jo minor attacks.. Accha tum abhi thik to ho na.. Woh attacks.

Neil : Minor they bhaiya.. I'm alright..

Kartik : Umm.. To woh report nahi kawaye?

Neil : Pahli baat to bhaiya ki pahle report se humein itna pata chal gaya ki kuch hota to hai nahi.. Secondly agar police k pass jayenge to Ronnie k details sun kar sabse pahle phone woh police uske father ko karegnge.. Aapko to pata hi hoga uska kitna power hai.. Ussey phir didi nahi to main humein hi torcher hona padhega..

Then Kartik asked in which police station they filed the rape case and got details about it..

Kartik (taking a deep breath) : Okay.. Thankyou so much.. Tum jao jake so jao..

Neil : Aur aap??

Kartik : Main bhi jaa hi raha hu bass..

Neil : Waise dii kaisi hai bhaiya?

Kartik : Woh thik hai so rahi hai.. Apne room mein jaate vakt usko dekkhe jana na tum..

Nodding Neil left for his room..

Kartik sat on the couch and decided something!!

Next morning..

Swarna went to Naira's room and saw her sleeping there peacefully..

Swarna (caressing her hair) : Pyaari si bacchi.. Medicines k high doses k vajah se gahri neend mein hai shayad..
(looking around) par yeh Kartik kahan hai.. Offo maine kaha tha isse ki bacchi k saath rahe humesha..

Swarna went to Neil's room and saw him sleeping too.  She went near him and caressed his hair too..

Swarna : Pata nahi inn dono ko dekkhe itna apna sa lagta hai.. kash yeh humein khulke batate ki kya problem hai. 
Par yeh kartik kaha hai!

She went downstairs.. But then also couldn't see him.. She searched the whole house, garden everywhere..

She tried calling him but it came unreachable..

In the Police station..

Kartik banged his hand on the table where the police inspector was sitting all idly putting his legs crossed above the table..

Police : Dekho zyada halla mat karo subah subah! Dimag ki bhajiya mat banao..

Kartik : Main aapko kuch bol raha hu kaafi der se..

Police : To?? Tum koi case leke to aaye ho nahi.. Purani case k baare mein puch rahe ho.. waise bhi yeh rule k against hai kisiko bhi Case dikha de aise.. Jisne case file kia tha usse lao..

Kartik : Oh really!! Aaplog rules and regulations k hisaab se kaam karte ho.. (Louder) agar aisa hota to aaj tak yeh case solve ho gaya hota.. Itne saal ho gaye aap justice nahi dila paye usse.. Pata nahi kitne unsolved cases leke baithe ho..

The inspector gave him a glare and stood up angrily..

Inspector : Oyy shana!! Awaz niche! nahi dikhanyenge file bol kya karega tu!! Bahut der se sun raha hu teri faltu baatein..

Kartik (with his bloodshot eyes) : Faltu baatein nahi hai.. Agar aaplogo ne pura force leke koshish kia hota to iss case ki kahani kuch aur hi hoti..

Inspector : Tu kya bolna kya chahta hai.. Hum kaam nahi karte..

Kartik : Pura jaan lagake nahi karte ho.. Report dikhaiye to zara kitno ko ultimately aaplog justice dila paye ho last 5 years mein..

Inspector : Oyy! Bahut zyada bann rha hai yeh.. Ayy isse andar daal de.. Saari bak bak aaj iski nikalta hu main.. ayy naam kya hai re tera?

Kartik : Kartik Goenka!

Inspector : Kartik Goenka?

Kartik : Jii haan!

Inspector (Widening his eyes) : Manish Goenka ka beta!

Not all police inspectors are careless.. There are many many hardworking inspectors, officers who are dedicated and loyal towards their duty whom we salute and respect.. they do their job pouring their heart over it..

But to look at the harsh reality, some are like this too which i showed in this chapter..
They most of the time work only for big names, for the politicians, and bribes have become so common nowadays..
Hence, ultimately providing no justice to the actual cases.. Police cases, Court cases in India are a never ending processes..
