TROYE'S POV

The time ticks by slowly until David slides on the tiles into the lobby, giving us a thumbs up as an All Systems Go sign. I feel my heart beat everywhere as we slide along the wall to the big doors. He unlocks it.

We rush out and as the door shuts, I see a street and we dance across it, not taking caution to look both ways first.

We keep running until we find a forest. Perfect. Zalfie decide to take a walk alone and Tyler and David sit down in the grass with me.

I smile at Tyler because of how honestly amazing this feeling of freedom is. I felt like we had our original magic aura between us. David walks away to find Zalfie, but Tyler and I just nod, not ready to break eye contact.

"I'm sorry." I say, referring to the whole David thing. His blueish green eyes make me remember all the reasons I fell in love with him in the first place.

"I couldn't hate you if I tried" he says, his fingers finding my hand and resting on top of it.

"But I'm a monster" I say, averting my stare to study the ground.

His fingertips remove themselves from my hand to meet my face. He moves my head to face him once again, his eyes the depth of the Dead Sea.

"But that's why I love you, Troye Sivan. I can't hate the darker parts of you. I love every piece of you in ways I've never loved anyone before."

"That's beautiful" I say, my eyes beginning to tear up. Nobody ever says anything like that to me.

He wipes away a falling tear with his thumb, his stare intense on me.

"JUST MAKE OUT ALREADY!!!" I hear Alfie tease us. I realize how tangled we are and the close proximity of our faces doesn't help. I blush as I sit back, away from Tyler.

Making Tyler blush is nearly impossible so I'm shocked when my eyes trail up to Tyler's face to see that it's as red as a tomato. I laugh hysterically and Tyler shoves me playfully. David trails beshind Alfie and Zoe. They join us on the grass.

"Hey um Tyler?" David says.

Tyler turns to face David.

"So you know how the simulation was like ten times worse than usual?" Tyler nods, "well Kay skipped four simulation levels, and something in your brain's reaction snapped you back to reality."

"Really?! Why would he put me on a heavier simulation than just gradually giving me them like usual?"

David shrugs, "not sure. He does some pretty weird things."

Tyler lets the conversation fall into nothing.

"So where are we gonna go?" Zoe asks.

"I don't know." Tyler says, "I was thinking just find a basement or something?"

Nobody says anything, none of us sure what to do.

The sky begins to darken as silence falls over the atmosphere between us. Although there are no clouds, I still expect to see them as I glance up at the sky every ten seconds.

Tyler sighs. David gets up, "we need to find shelter. Especially being so close to the Lab." We all get up off the grass in sync.

We eventually find shelter under a large tree. Zoe stargazes while Alfie is fast asleep in minutes.

"I'm going to climb the tree" David says as he climbs the tree. Zoe sighs, letting her eyes shut briefly.
