The Dark Lord (Brethren) and Cami (mostly Ozai) started off with an accent that was originated from a language (called Dark Tongue) that my sister and I made up.

When we first created Shintaro (though he was Brethren back then), he didn't have an accent because we hadn't made him related to The Dark Lord yet. When The Dark Lord came into play, we gave him the accent since he was literally the father of all darkness. We made up the language and even have a few words memorized to this day (I say them sometimes XD), and when The Dark Lord became Shintaro's father, we made Shintaro have the accent as well. But when Shintaro stopped speaking with it, we made it an act of defiance toward his father. Ozai (and Cami) use the accent because it was what they grew up with, and they were both too timid of characters to oppose The Dark Lord.
