★Chapter 7★
[TW: Suicide and gaslighting]
The next day, news was given out that school was cancelled for the day due to an unfortunate event. Third year Tanji Hajime was found dead outside of the school building. His shoes were off and were left on the roof, indicating a suicide.
There was something odd about the death of this student, mainly that there wasn't any reason for him to kill himself. His home life was good, and he was a good student, so it wasn't like he was stressed from school. However, it was revealed that his girlfriend, Imada Emiko, broke up with him 4 days before the incident. A rumor started saying that she was the reason he killed himself, but she denies this.
The trio of teens found it odd and rather disturbing that this would have happened at their school but decided to not get involved in the situation. What they didn't know was there was a stand user involved with this suicide.
When Josuke and his friends could go back to school, they noticed something was off. mainly that Hazamada seemed different. He looked clean, his hair shiny and silky, and he didn't smell like absolute shit, not to mention some of his hair was braided, and there was a paper airplane sticking out of his head. Also, he was literally waiting by the first year's locker. "Oh, Josuke, there you are! I just wanted to apologize for what I said a couple of days ago at the docks." He stated.
"Uh, you're sorry?" Josuke asked. "I uh- damn. I don't know what to say."
"Well, after our fight, I got to have a long think about my life. I realized I really needed a major change. So, I made a vow to never use my stand on anyone who doesn't deserve it again, I even made myself a new self-care schedule. It's really helped me plenty." Hazamada explained. "Well, I should probably get to class now, I'll see you later."
Josuke just stood there in shock as the third year left for his class. "Is that really the same Hazamada? The guy who was such an incel?" Okuyasu asked. "This has to be some kind of weird prank, right?"
"Well, maybe he really wants to change himself for the better? I mean if it was a prank he really went above and beyond to make us believe him." Koichi pointed out. "Although it's weird he has that paper plane stuck in his hair."
"Eh, I guess he didn't want to make himself too clean." Josuke joked. "We should get to class too, we'll worry about Hazamada later."
Apparently, it would be sooner than anyone expected. As soon as the lunch break started, Hazamada was heading their way. "Uh, what do you want?"
"Nothing, I just want to sit with you for a bit. I'm waiting for someone, someone really important to me." The third year replied. "It's a nice day, isn't it?"
"Umm, I guess?" By this point Josuke was getting very weirded out, this was a major 180 from how he was when they first met. "What's up with the paper plane? It can't be stuck that hard on you." He made a reach for it, only for Hazamada to duck away.
"Hey! Careful with that, will ya?"
"Jesus, I was just trying to get out the paper airplane that was stuck to your head." The pompadoured teen commented. "Well, I'll have you know that Kyo thinks it looks cute on me."
"Kyo?"
Before Hazamada could explain, a boy strolled up to them. He wore a green uniform, similar to those worn by other boys at that school, but there was a little embordered arrow half black half white on the collar. He also had chestnut brown hair in a mullet and bangs covering his eyes. "Hazamada... Who's this?" He asked.
"Oh, this is Josuke Higashikata. He's the guy I told you about." Hazamada explained. "Josuke? Hmm... Oh I remember. Did you apologize to him?"
"Yeah, I did." Hazamada stated. "Ah, good."
As the two third years were talking, Josuke couldn't help but notice something was up. The former incel was looking at this new guy with complete admiration, like just his presence was alluring. It could just be some sort of charming personality, but Josuke wasn't buying it. Something was definitely up.
"Hey, I haven't seen you around here before. Are you new?" He interrupted his upperclassmen. "I am. How silly of me not to introduce myself. My name is Kyo Ito." the boy stated.
"Well, uh, we didn't get any news of a transfer student coming here. Usually new students would be all over the entire school." Josuke replied.
"I guess I didn't want to draw too much attention to myself. I thought I'd be all alone, at least that is until I met Hazamada here." Kyo replied. "Isn't he great?"
"Wait, you thought Hazamada of all people would be a good friend to you?" Okuyasu snickered. "Boy, you really have weird taste."
The chestnut-haired teen seemed hurt. "That was what he used to be, but he's a new man now." He mumbled. "Don't you see how much he's changed now?"
"Well, I mean yeah. He's a lot different now, he's practically unrecognizable now. I mean, it's not like a bad change or anything, considering what he was like before. I mean, you should see just how much grease was in his hair alone." Josuke stammered. "It's just going to take a while to get used to, y'know?"
"So, I see, well Hazamada and I should be off now, we have plans after school." Kyo said, as soon as he stood up, Hazamada immediately followed suit. The trio now knew something must be up for the former incel to be this attached to the new student.
"You think it's got something to do with that paper plane? I mean, I don't know what else could make him act like this." Okuyasu thought.
"It has to be, I'll see what they're planning after school."
And so, with that, the trio went through their day until afterschool. "Josuke are you sure you can do this by yourself? I mean not that I doubt you or anything but what if something happens?" Koichi asked as Josuke waited for Hazamada and Kyo to come out to follow them.
"Hey, if anything happens, I'll just call you guys somehow, I mean I know Koichi's phone number, so I'll just go a pay phone somewhere and report my findings." The pompadoured haired teen stated. Then he saw them exit the building.
"So, Kyo, what exactly are we going to do?" Hazamada asked, unaware of the fact Josuke was going to follow them. "Well, I was thinking about getting you some new lotions. Your skin is looking a bit dry, but I know this brand that's really good." Kyo said, taking Hazamada's hand to lead him.
Josuke just followed quietly behind them, shocked how he wasn't noticed. "Are they seriously just getting lotion? Man, wasted my afternoon for nothing." He thought before Kyo whipped out a flip phone.
"Oh, seems like we need to make a little emergency stop. I got to talk to Chi-Chi." Kyo smiled. "Chi-Chi? Oh... I don't know why you want to be near her..."
"Awe, don't be Jealous. I have no emotional connection to her, not like what I have with you." The chestnut-haired teen assured his friend. "Chi-Chi...? Wait like Chiharu? Of course she had something to do with this." Josuke thought as he spied.
"Well, if you insist. I just thought I was the only one for you, that's what you said." Hazamada replied, sitting beside the fellow teen as he texted.
"Damn, I can't get close enough to see what he's texting, at least without getting caught." Josuke thought as he tried to get closer. "Wait, could I get close enough with my stand to watch them?"
Thinking he might as well give it a shot; Crazy Diamond came out and hid behind an alleyway. He was sure he wouldn't be caught. "Let's see, aha. It looks like he's texting about Hazamada to someone, it's gotta be Chiharu. What's she planning now?"
The bassist hasn't been seen for days, at least the trio of stand users haven't had the chance to see her due to everything else going on at the same time. With Akira out of the picture, she was now their biggest threat. "Those three are getting suspicious, what should we do?" Kyo texted.
After a few seconds, he got his response. "Just keep playing cool, I'll bring you some backup in a bit. This arrow doesn't give just anyone their stand y'know? And I don't know what would happen if the arrow pierced someone who's already a stand user." Chiharu replied. "Are you sure you weren't followed?"
"The two taller teens are too stupid to realize anything, and that short one can't do anything with how he behaves." Kyo replied, that is until he noticed a taller figure looming over him. "Who's there?!"
"Just one of the guys you said were too stupid to realize what you're doing." Josuke stated, about to send Crazy Diamond on a punching spree. However, before he could land a single blow onto Kyo, Hazamada jumped in front of Kyo.
He was being a human shield, trying to protect Kyo. "Josuke what the heck!? Kyo hasn't done anything wrong!" Hazamada exclaimed. "What do you mean?! He's a stand user!"
"And? Why would that matter?!"
"Because-" Before he could finish his argument, Josuke felt something hit his chest. A paper airplane. "There, that should do it. I guess you caught on, hmm? That I'm a stand user. Maybe you aren't as dumb as that other first year. Oh well, not like that matters."
"What the...? What... What are you doing to me...?" Josuke said, his anger changing into a form of submissive obedience.
"Well, my stand, Self-Esteem, is draining you of any self-confidence. Your opinions will be changed to be like mine, and you're going to be my friend. I can have up to three people attached to me, so if one of your old friends want to intervene, they'll have to get through me." Kyo explained.
Josuke couldn't respond, all he could do was walk up to Kyo. "There, it's so much easier to just do what I say. You can go back to your friends, but you better not tell any of them what you just experienced today, that is unless you want me to abandon you."
Usually, Josuke would punch him in the face for suggesting that, but now he would do anything to stay in Kyo's good graces. He just wanted to please him, to make sure no one ever hurt his new friend. "I won't say a word. They'll all be completely in the dark." He promised.
"That's a good friend, you go and have fun now. Oh, and I recommend you use this new brand of hairspray, it's all natural and will help your hair stick even better." Kyo replied, watching as his newest victim left to return to his own trio.
"Man, what's taking him so long?" Okuyasu demanded, he was back by his house with Koichi, both waiting for Josuke to return. "You don't think he was caught and killed, do ya? And this whole new Hazamada thing was all a trap for him?"
"I'm worried too, but I have faith that everything will turn out fine. Hey, here he comes right n-" but before Koichi could finish his sentence, he noticed a paper plane attached to Josuke.
"Another plane? What's up with that?"
"Oh this? Uh... it's nothing, it's just something that got caught on me on my way back."
"Huh? Josuke, are you sure?"
"Yeah, I mean, I don't see what the issue is. I mean it's not hurting me or anything." Josuke tried to assure his friends. "Well, alright. If you say so." Koichi stated, still a bit sus about the whole thing. However, he didn't bring it up, since he didn't want to start an argument.
"Well, I better get going, y'know, study, do my homework." The shortest of the trio said. "Alright, see ya Koichi. So Josuke, wanna stay at my place for the night? I mean I know it's a school night, but, idk I don't think that paper airplane is normal."
"What? Don't be silly, it's just a silly paper airplane. Anyway, I have to decline your offer Oku, other than my mom would kill me if I went to a friend's house to spend the night on a school night, uh, maybe tomorrow?" Josuke stated, trying to take a rain check on that.
"Oh, uh, okay... See you tomorrow then." Okuyasu sighed as he watched Josuke walk home. "Something's real weird about this situation. But... Maybe I'm thinking too hard about this." He thought as he went inside.
Keicho noticed his younger brother was upset as he watched Josuke leave back to his own house. "What's the matter? It's not like Josuke's moving away, you'll see him again tomorrow." He tried to reassure Okuyasu.
"I guess, but I really wanted to just spend some time with him. I dunno, it's just like since we met, I just want to stay with him. Is that weird? I mean, do I come across as too clingy? Is that why he doesn't want to be near me? I mean, I wouldn't blame him if he-"
"Hey. Hey. Don't worry about it." Keicho butted in. "I'm sure that isn't the case at all. I overheard you mentioning a paper plane on him."
"Yeah, Hazamada had one just like his earlier. And he was acting like a completely different person too, well that wasn't the weirdest part. What was really weird was that he kept doing whatever this new student told him to do." Okuyasu explained. "Wait, if they have the same paper plane stuck on them, that must mean... Kyo's a stand user!"
He would have thrown his bag in a fit of rage if Keicho didn't stop him. "Flying into a blind rage won't solve the problem. It's clear whatever Kyo's stand is, he can make anyone obedient to him and him alone. And I'm not going to let him get you too."
"But- but what can we do? I mean, I don't want to lose Josuke forever!"
Keicho was taken aback, Okuyasu never acting this protective over anyone before. "Do... Do you have a crush on Josuke?"
"What? No... I don't think so, at least. I just care about my friend. I mean I never had a best friend before him so I'm just protective over him. That's normal... Right?" Okuyasu tried to deny this, but the blush on his face made it ever so clear that his feelings were more than platonic.
"Well, if that's how you see it, I won't question it. Just... If you're gay that's... fine." Keicho stated, trying to be a good ally. "Uh, thanks, I guess."
The next morning, Okuyasu went to get Josuke, just to check on him. But to his surprise he wasn't home. "What?"
"Yeah, I was surprised that he was up so early. Guess there's something at school he really wanted." Tomoko explained. "Oh. That's fine, I guess I'll just see him at school." Oku stated as he went to school.
And low and behold, Josuke was talking to Hazamada and Kyo. "That asshole, he thinks he can steal my friend. I'll show him-" He thought before remembering what Keicho told him. "Well, I guess I'll just talk to them." He continued before walking over.
"So uh, hey Josuke. You still planning to hang out around at my place? I got some new games and stuff, and tomorrow's Saturday so you can spend the night." Okuyasu awkwardly stammered.
"Uh-"
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Okuyasu. But I already asked Josuke if he could show me around in Morioh, since I moved in from a different city, I want to know more about everything." Kyo barged in. "You don't mind, do you? I just would like to meet some new people while I'm here."
"I uh... I mean I... Gah, look here, Kyo. I just wanna hang out with my bestie and here you are thinking you can just speak over Josuke here? Why don't you let him choose what he wants to do?" Okuyasu snapped.
Kyo was taken aback, he would have sent out another Self Esteem plane if he wasn't in public at the moment. "Well, uh, well maybe Josuke does want to hang out with someone different for a change. It's not like you're his boyfriend or anything."
Okuyasu blushed hard at that remark, he didn't know how to respond to once again being asked if he had a crush on Josuke. However, something seemed to spark inside of the pompadour haired teen. "Oku... Do you really like me like that? Romantically I mean?"
"Umm... I uh... I... I don't know. I never really had any romantic feelings for anyone before, this is just new to me. But I mean, you probably had all the girls drooling at your feet with your looks. How could anyone not fall for you?"
"Oh, uh, Oku...I-"
"Ah, sorry, gotta go, um, I gotta get to class." Okuyasu exclaimed, the fear of rejection hitting him hard as he ran to their class. "Geez what's his problem?" Kyo asked. "I don't know... Maybe I should check on him-?"
"I'm sure he's fine. Besides, if he had feelings for you, he would have told you already. Sure he confessed to you looking good, but that could be seen as platonic." The chestnut-haired teen stated, trying not to lose control. "But I kinda like him too-"
"Oh? Are you sure you're not just feeling pity for him? Listen, this is just a high school crush. It's not like you'll end up long term partners. I learned that the hard way... Anyway, you don't need him, you're better than him. All you need is to stay by my side." Kyo stated.
Just as the first time he was hit, Josuke just agreed. "Well... If you say so..." He sighed, but he still felt that flame of desire that was birthed from Okuyasu's confession.
His plane was slowly loosening as he followed Kyo, although no one noticed as they continued to walk along. Once class was over, Okuyasu was still worried about what Josuke would say if he confessed. He knew he could always chalk it up to Kyo making Josuke reject him, but what if he really had no romantic feelings towards the other tall teen?
"Hey Okuyasu? You barely paid any attention in class." Koichi pointed out. "Is something bothering you? You know you can tell me anything."
"I uh... I don't know, I mean it's romance related and I dunno how you can help with it." The taller teen stammered. "And I'm the one struggling to confess here."
"You? Wait, is this about you and Josuke?"
"Gah! You overheard that?"
"Well, sort of. I just heard you and Josuke talking, and you mentioned romance, I thought you had feelings for him."
"That's the thing... I really do, but I just can't tell him. I don't know how to say it without coming across like Yukako a few days ago. What if he thinks I'm too clingy? Or if he thinks I'm no good? Damn, who knew romance was so hard?"
"Well, maybe you just really like him? I don't know, but maybe because your friends you don't want to ruin your friendship, making it harder to confess. Maybe write him a letter and stick it in his locker." Koichi stated, with zero experience. His experience with love is through the shoujo manga his sister read and that was a common trope.
"Well, alright, but what do I even write? I'm not the best with words..." Oku admitted. "Well, it's not about the quality it's about the passion. Compliment his eyes, his hair, and other things."
"Gee thanks Koichi!" The taller teen beamed as he went to write a love letter before the small break was over.
At his locker, Josuke found the letter and opened it. "Dear Josuke, I really really really like you; your eyes sparkle like priceless diamonds and your style is unmatched. Meet me on the roof. Signed Okuyasu N." He read. Kyo caught wind of this and made his way over to Josuke. "Excuse me what's that?"
"Looks like a love letter from Okuyasu. I-"
"Reject him, he's trying too hard." Kyo said. "What? No, I'm not going to reject him. You're the one who said he'd tell me if he liked me." Josuke stated. Not liking this, he ranked the paper airplane out of Josuke's chest. You'd think this would restore Josuke's confidence, but it didn't, it just made him depressed. "If you want to meet him on the roof, go ahead, but you're not going to confess. If I can't keep you no one can." Kyo uttered before walking off to find Hazamada.
For the first time, the teen was a complete wreck. Not even dealing with Clonesuke was this damaging to his mental state, it was jarring seeing him now. Since he was going onto the roof of the school, he figured he might as well end it right there, now that he no longer had Kyo, what was the point?
Okuyasu was waiting up on top alongside Koichi, the two of them hoping that Josuke got the note and would finally snap back to his senses. "Well, here he comes, but what's gotten him all depressed?" The short teen thought. "Hey Josuke, is everything alright? You look... Down."
It was then they noticed the paper plane was gone, but if that was the case how come Josuke wasn't back to his old self? If the plane controlled him than surely it being removed would have turned Josuke back to normal. "It's nothing." He mumbled.
"Well, uh, Josuke, I got something to tell you. It's pretty damn important so listen up!" Okuyasu exclaimed. "So, uh. I see you got my note."
But Josuke didn't respond, he simply looked out at the distance. He approached the edge slowly; all he could think about was just taking the easy way out. It's not like anyone would miss him, or so he thought. He reached to take his shoes off, however, his thoughts were interrupted.
"Hey man, what's wrong with you? You don't need that controlling Kyo! That son of a bitch thought he could get away with making you his man servant?!"
"But I... I can't go on... He said no one can have me when he abandoned me. So, I'm lea-"
Okuyasu didn't want to hear another word, he grabbed Josuke by his shoulders and looked him dead in the eye.
The two tall teens looked into each other's eyes for a moment before Okuyasu spoke. "Josuke... You can't just kill yourself."
"Why not...? It's not like anyone would miss me-"
"Don't give me that! A lot of people would miss you!" Oku shouted as he held Josuke tight so he wouldn't jump. "Oh yeah...? Name at least five people then if a lot of them would miss me." The pompadoured teen stated, not believing it for a second.
"Wha- Your mom, your dad, Jotaro, those guys your dad is friends with, Kakyoin, Koichi, and me! Especially me, Josuke I like you- No... I love you!" Okuyasu admitted. "Oku... Oku why would you love someone like me...? It's not like I deserve someone as funny and handsome as you..."
"What do you mean? Josuke, you're also funny, not to mention handsome, you're so stylish it's honestly amazing." Oku stated blushing at the fact Josuke thinks he's handsome. "... I meant... something else..." The pompadoured teen sighed looking away.
"Something else?" Oku asked, cupping Josuke's face to make him look at him.
The two teens continued to stare at each other, leaning closer until they finally leaned forward enough for their lips to brush against each other. Finally, Okuyasu made the first move, pressing his lips against Josuke's, kissing him. It was short, but sweet. In truth, Josuke never been kissed before, he may have been popular with the girls at school but none of them asked him out. Now here he was, with a new boyfriend that loved him dearly. "You... You really love me."
"Well yeah! I wouldn't have kissed ya if I didn't. Now I know your lips are really soft, like two flower petals together. Uh, that sounds corny, but I can't think of any other way to describe it." The other teen admitted. "I mean, you're just so handsome, too much for words."
"I uh, I dunno what to say either. No one ever called me handsome before, it's nice." Josuke admitted, kissing Okuyasu's cheek. "And you're a good kisser too."
The newfound couple blushed the longer they stayed together, Josuke could feel Kyo's hold on him weakening. "Man, I guess love does conquer all, huh? I thought it was just something from corny kid's movies." The pompadour haired teen chuckled. "So uh, what do we do now?"
Kyo was still out there, they had to deal with him now. "As a couple."
"Right, let's get that asshole."
Meanwhile, Kyo and Hazamada were hanging out, as per usual. "Wait where's Josuke?"
"Oh? Him? Well, I wouldn't know. I haven't heard from him, he just left me." Kyo lied, thinking he got away with a murder. "Why do you care?"
"I mean, I don't, I was just wondering." The former incel stated. "At least I have him for myself now." He thought before he saw the prementioned teen running towards them. This shocked Kyo, since he assumed that the pompadoured teen would fall to his death by now.
"What the hell? How is he still standing?! Oh well, I'll just hit him with another one of Self-Esteem-" He thought before he felt himself be drags towards the first years. "Kyo! You gotta lot of explaining to do!" Josuke exclaimed as he punched the chestnut-haired teen with Crazy Diamond. As for Hazamada, so he wouldn't interfere, Koichi dealt with him.
After a couple of good few punches from both tall first years, Josuke held Kyo by the collar. "So, you have enough, or do you need us to beat your ass up more?" Josuke asked, getting a small squeak in response.
"Gah! You... You managed to break out of my hold?"
Okuyasu immediately stepped up, staying beside his new boyfriend. "You bet he did! You wouldn't believe how much torture you put me through because I thought he hated me now. All it took was me finally confessing how I felt and then before you know it, he's back to his old self!" Okuyasu declared.
"Oh. So, you really loved him? Genuinely?"
"What? You didn't expect anyone to fall for someone like Josuke? Someone so handsome? So caring? Someone who wanted nothing more than to keep his friends safe?" Okuyasu immediately butted in.
"I uh... No. I mean, not to truly care. I never really got to know how that felt." Kyo admitted. "I thought it was all just stupid stories for ten-year-olds."
"Yeah well, maybe there was something to those so-called stupid stories. Who would have thought all it took was some affection."
"Now then, can you release Hazamada or would he commit suicide if you recall your stand?" The pompadoured teen asked, not really caring about his fate but not wanting someone else to fall victim. "No, no, it will only result in suicide if I touch the plane."
Kyo, defeated emotionally and physically, paused turning away from them, removing the hold he had on Hazamada as he recalled his stand. "Holy shit that guy was a psycho, he washed my hair. No wonder he had to use a stand to get bitches."
"I mean that's not really psycho material. He's a bit messed up in the head, but he isn't Yukako levels of crazy." Josuke stated before Hazamada got up and left. As he did, Kyo watched, distraught. "Honestly dodged a bullet. Now then, can you explain what the hell you did?"
"I... I was struck by an arrow... Um... And I got Self-esteem... But... I never had this ability before, so I tested it out on two people, Hazamada and that other 3rd year... I... I didn't think he'd kill himself, but he did. I guess the power that stand made me feel made me act a bit like an asshole huh...? Oh well, guess it doesn't matter now." Kyo said as he looked at the roof.
"Kyo don't. Killing yourself is the easy way out. Life's going to be tough, you're going to have to go through it."
"What's the point? I can't even get people to stay by my side if there isn't something stopping them from leaving." Kyo uttered.
"You'll never know unless you actually go and talk to someone in real life. Your stand makes people only obey you, so it's clear it stemmed from your need to be with someone." Josuke hypothesized. "And you really wanted to turn Hazamada into a better person from the looks of it."
"I thought if he improved as a person, I would be doing something good... I.... I never wanted to make it seem like I was forcing anyone, I just get so clingy, I can't stand being alone." Kyo mumbled, hugging his legs. "I'm sorry I caused so much trouble for you all. I really didn't mean it..."
"Hey, hey. Don't blame yourself." Okuyasu stepped in. "You clearly never had a support system. But it's nothing to be ashamed about. I mean, I used to be an asshole until I found Jojo and Koichi here. I dunno what I would have done if I never met them."
"I... I guess. I didn't just want to make Hazamada better I... I... I have a crush on him." Kyo finally blurted out. "I was so worried he would reject me that Self Esteem just came out and jabbed him. But there's no way he would like me back now. Not after what I did to him."
"Wait, you actually like Hazamada that way? For real?" The pompadoured teen asked, genuinely confused because of Hazamada's true nature. "Y-Yeah but... He'll never like me, at least not like that, he probably thinks I'm a monster for doing all that to him."
"I mean you didn't really do much other than like, clean him. Like yeah, the whole emotion control thing is fucked but besides that you only made him take care of himself." Josuke stated. "But... But I forced him to clean-"
"He literally smelt like a dumpster you're honestly doing the world a favor. Besides, he seems pretty desperate, he might come around and want to date you." Okuyasu said. "But for now, just give him time to forget about this and then ask for forgiveness, he might forgive you and you could be friends again."
"... I guess..." Kyo stated. Even if it was just friendship, he didn't mind, he just wanted to be near Hazamada. "We'll never be together forever, but I'd be grateful to have him as an ally." He thought.
The other third year was waiting on the steps outside the school, grumbling to himself about how weird his new scent is. He wasn't used to being this clean in his entire life, he never had time to shower with how much he was busy being angry at women or plotting against the Joestars.
"Hey uh... Hazamada?" Kyo mumbled, slowly approaching the boy he once controlled. "I... I'm sorry I took control of you, I never wanted to do any harm. By the way... ahah, I uh... I have feelings for you, but it's understandable if you don't feel the same way towards me."
Hazamada looked up, surprised that anyone would like him romantically, especially Kyo. "You what? Did you just say you like me?" He squeaked.
"I do... That's why I wanted to be with you, I thought I could fix you. I just wanted you to take care of yourself, but this wasn't the way to do it. I didn't know what else to do, especially since I never had any experience with love before."
The first-year trio all stood away from the older boys as they talked, it was clear Hazamada didn't hold a huge grudge against Kyo for his actions. "But why do you want to be with me? Out of all the other students in school, why do you want to be my boyfriend? I... I'm just in shock here."
"Well... Um... A few reasons. Your voice sounds cute, uh... You looked very mysterious, and you look good with purple eyeshadow." Kyo explained. "Sorry, this is probably stupid, you probably don't even like men, let alone a man who controlled you. I'm just gonna leave so that hopefully we can forget this embarrassing interaction." He continued, his words tumbling out of his mouth as he started to walk away.
"Wait, Kyo." Hazamada stated, trying to get the other male to stay. "I mean, jesus I didn't anyone would want to spend any actual time with me, let alone actually be interested in me, I, uh, fuck, sorry, I just don't know what to say."
"If you don't want to be with me, that's fine, I don't have to be your boyfriend, I'm fine with just being your male friend." Kyo stammered kinda desperately. Hazamada got more confused about this, since he never seen a person be this desperate to even be friends with him, let alone boyfriend.
"I want to be your boyfriend. I mean, it's not every day when someone like me gets confessed to. Especially with all my crimes." Hazamada said taking a hold of Kyo's hand.
"I uh... I don't know what to say. No, I do know. I would love to be your boyfriend!" Kyo confessed. "I never thought I'd see the day I'd be yours forever. Umm... Can we go out on a date together? Like maybe a study date?"
"Mmm, sure. That sounds like a plan to me~" Hazamada smiled, kissing his hand. "Shall we?"
As they walked off, Josuke and Okuyasu held each other's hands too. "Wow, I never thought there would be two couples at school in one day." The latter remarked.
"Yeah, this was a bizarre day for sure. Heh, want to hang out at your place?"
"I thought you'd never ask."
