Chapter 14
As Josuke and Koichi were dealing with the Kimiko situation, two other stand users were about to make a discovery. Boingo and Hol Horse decided to stay in Morioh for a bit to help find Chiharu before she either killed anyone or made an unbeatable stand user. However, what they found out was a lot more worrisome than either outcome.
The comic artist was in the shower when Thoth started glowing. "Huh? Hey Boingo, yer comic is glowing, I think it's making a prediction or something." Hol horse stated loudly so Boingo could hear him. "Don't touch it, I'll be out in a bit." The comic artist stated before wrapping himself in a towel to see what Thoth has predicted.
Flipping through the pages to the latest update, Boingo read the prediction. "Everything seemed to be going well for the team Boingo and Hol Horse were in! However, the mean bassist Chiharu made a fatal flaw, she turns a murderer into a stand user! Good news is that Chiharu doesn't have the arrow anymore, the bad news is the murderer has it."
"That's it? Thoth doesn't say who it is?"
"No, Thoth just gives chunks of information at a time. And unfortunately, we can't stop this from happening." Boingo stated.
All they could do was warn the rest of the team that a much larger threat than Chiharu was on the horizon and to stay on their guard. Crazy Diamond might have gotten stronger since their days in Egypt, but it was still unable to completely revive a person. "Let's get to the others, Chiharu probably warned this murderer guy to target them."
Little did they know that the murderer was right under their noses, his name was Yoshikage Kira. He was hidden in plain sight and was hoping to keep it that way. He just wanted to live a quiet life with his darling, that being a single hand that he keeps in his bag. "Oh, now that's very much not ladylike of you. Here, I'll clean that fried egg off of your fingers." Kira purred, getting a tissue for the hand.
It was unclear how he got the way he did, but his fascination with human hands was very much unsettling. As Kira cleaned the hand, the trio of high school students all met up in the schoolyard for another boring day. "Any sign of Chiharu?" Josuke asked.
"Nah, it's weird. You'd think after all those failed stand users she'd immediately take matters into her own hands." Okuyasu remarked. "Maybe she finally took a hint and is gonna leave us alone."
Koichi however wasn't convinced. "No, she wouldn't give up this easily. This sounds like a calm before the storm. Y'know? Like a false sense of security, she lured us into and now she's going to strike when we least expect it."
"Well, it's been days now, but if you really think so, we'll be careful."
As the day went on, nothing really unusual occurred. That was until the day ended. The three high schoolers made their way back home, they stumbled upon an alley way. But there was something eerie about it. Mainly from the fact it showed up suddenly.
"Uh, guys? This alley wasn't here before, was it?" Koichi asked. "Y'know, now that you mention it, I don't think I have seen it before. Though, to be honest, I don't think we should worry about it. I mean, it probably just leads to houses or something." Josuke commented.
"I guess..." The short highschooler sighed. But the eeriness of the alley made him curious. "I mean, if you want to check it out that's fine, but I have to do homework." Josuke remarked as he went with Okuyasu. "I should go too, but... this alley... there seems to be more to it-"
"Koichi? What are you doing here?" A voice asked. That voice belonged to Rohan. "Oh! Mr. Kishibe. I could ask you the same thing." Koichi yelped from being startled. "Well, I thought that, since I'm in Morioh, I should at least visit my old home see if its still there, however, there seems to be an issue with that. I can't find it on the map. Anyway, If my memory serves me right it should be in this area, down this alley." The mangaka stated pointing at the alley Koichi was looking at.
"You used to live here? I thought that mansion you had was your home."
"Heh, as if I was able to afford that place before publishing Pink Dark Boy. Oh well, I guess that old house got demolished some time while I was away." Rohan figured as he went to leave the alley. But it seemed no matter where he turned, he would always end up right back at the start of the alleyway. "Huh? Okay now this is getting creepy."
Koichi had Echoes on standby, worried that a new stand has trapped them in a sort of pocket dimension in Morioh. "Is anyone there? Uh, we mean you no harm." He called out. His hair stood up as he slowly went further down the alley. That was when he felt a chill go down his spine, as if someone was there with him. "There's no one here, it's like a ghost town."
That chill soon reached Rohan, jumping as he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Oh, very funny, Koichi. Trying to spook me with your tales about ghosts!"
"Uh, that wasn't me, Rohan Sensei." The teen pointed out. He was too short to reach up and grab Rohan anyways.
Now the mangaka was frightened, who else could be in here with them? "Well, uh, I'm not scared! Go ahead and show yourself, whoever you are!"
And then, someone appeared. A girl with pink hair and very pale skin stood behind them. And strangest of all, she seem familiar to Rohan, but he couldn't figure out why. "You! What are your intentions!?" He shouted at the girl before summoning Heavens Door and sicking it on her. Once hit with Heaven's Door, the girl passed out. "So she isn't a stand user. Alright let's see who you are."
Crouching down, the mangaka started reading her stats. "Lets see, Reimi Sugamoto, age 16. Oh... This is odd. It says she was born in 1967. But wouldn't make sense... She should be about 32 years old if she was born then." Rohan stated as he read more. "She lived here for her entire life. Has a mole on her left breast, her measurements are-"
"I don't think we need to know that." Koichi stated. "... Alright. Well she doesn't have any information about this place." Rohan spoke, sealing the girl back up. She blinked a bit before getting up. "That was weird. Anyway, Have you heard the rumors about this place? That it's haunted?"
"Haunted? I mean I never even knew this place existed until now." Koichi gasped, shocked at the fact there was a rumor about it. "Well, there is a rumor that there was a girl living with her family. She also had a dog. One night, the girl was laying in her bed, unable to sleep due to a dripping sound. She placed her hand under her bed, her dog licking her hand which to her was comforting. She checked her bathroom, to see if it was coming from there. It was not, the sound was coming from her closet... Opening it up she saw... The corpse of her dog! But... What licked her hand? Concerned she ran to her parents, only for them to be dead too! And, before she could call the police, she was stabbed in the back!"
"Eek! That's so scary!" Koichi whimpered. However, Rohan wasn't as convinced.
"This has to be some kind of joke, you're telling me that some killer went and murdered a girl's family and saved her for last? I don't see any motive that person might have had." Rohan grumbled. He put on a brave face, but he still had an eerie feeling that he should know this girl. "How do you know all of this? And that this alleyway is haunted?"
Reimi just gave him a creepy smirk. "Because that murdered girl, is me!" She declared. Now Rohan was frightened, he was never superstitious before, but today might change that. A dog's bark could be heard from behind, causing the mangaka artist to fall over. "Oh don't be so scared, it's just my pup."
Koichi's eyes widened at the sight. "So, you're ghosts? What about your parents? Are they here too?"
"No.. I'm stuck here unfortunately. I assume it has something to do with unfinished business." Reimi explained.
"Uh, unfinished?" Koichi was worried about stand users before, but now this ghost would want them to kill for her possibly. "As in getting revenge?"
"You could say that. I'm unable to pass on peacefully until I find the one responsible for this."
"I see. You don't know who murdered you?" Rohan asked. "I mean, he stabbed me in the back I couldn't tell what he looked like."
"Oh, okay, I see that makes sense... Random question, but do you remember a boy named Rohan who lived here when this was an actual location? I think I remember you from somewhere." The mangaka asked. "Rohan? Oh, Rohan Kishibe? I remember him I used to babysit him, y'know, before the incident. Wait... Are you saying you're him?"
"I... I am... Alright we're going to avenge you. But, for us to do that, we're going to need to get out of here. Do you know how to do that?" He asked. "Yes, though I can't cross with you. Just turn left up there. However, do not turn around or your soul will be dragged to hell where you will be tormented." Reimi stated.
With that, Rohan and Koichi started walking out of there. They just needed to look forward until they make it out of there. However, there were some voices tempting them to look behind them, and what felt like hand touching them. But they were almost at the end. "Koichi you did it, you can turn around now." A voice mimiking Reimi stated from the void. Before he could fully turn around, Rohan grabbed him, made him blind with Heaven's door and yoinked him out of there.
"Gah! My eyes!"
"Calm down, it'll ware off in a few minutes." Rohan commented as they exited the ghost alley.
Once they exited the alleyway, the first thing the short teen did was run off to search for his friends. "Considering we met with a vampire kid, and we're all stand users, I'm sure meeting with the ghost of Rohan's old babysitter can't be too much of a stretch." Koichi told himself. "With any luck that murderer would be old and frail by now."
Josuke and Okuyasu were in the former's house, struggling to focus on their homework. Most of the day they were sneak playing their video games whenever Tomoko wasn't looking. That is until they noticed Koichi banging on the window. "Damn Koichi, you look like you've seen a ghost." Okuyasu remarked as they let him in.
"Well funny you should mention, because that's exactly what happened! Turns out that alleyway seems to be some kind of bridge between the living and dead worlds. I think. It's really hard to explain. But you won't believe what just happened."
The taller teens listened intently as Koichi explained all about meeting Reimi and how her killer must be brought to justice. "Damn, now we have a killer loose?"
"Yes, I think, there has been a rise of missing people cases recently. But, how could that be?"
"Wait, you don't think this killer is a stand user, do you? Cause why would they be reported as Missing persons and not murders if the evidence wasn't there?" Josuke theorized. "I mean it's a possibility, a terrifying possibility, we better find her murderer before they kill more people."
As the teens spoke, they weren't aware of said murderer was preparing to find his next victim. Sniffing his lover hand, he noticed something tragic. "Oh... Smells like you're rotting... Oh well, nothing a little perfume can't fix." He hummed to himself as he got the perfume. As he was enjoying his privacy with his hand, he wasn't aware of the arrow that was about to stab him.
Chiharu, hiding in his bushes, chucked the arrow before realizing what Kira was doing. "Oh gross is that a human hand?" She thought as she examined the table the hand was on. However, it was too late, the arrow stuck the man in the neck, awakening a stand in him. Fearing for her life, Chiharu booked it, praying that Kira didn't see her.
She was in such a rush to get the hell away from the man that she realized he had the arrow now. "Gah! Well with any luck he would have no idea that the arrow is what causes stand users to emerge. Besides, he has no way of using it without the bow." Chiharu thought as she finally reached a safe enough distance from Kira.
She would have to rely on her own stand to reclaim the arrow and take out the Joestars this time. "Damn, well it was worth a shot. Well when all else fails, I can just bust Akira out of jail." Chiharu thought.
Thankfully it seemed Kira didn't spot her, either that or he decided she wasn't a big enough threat to his peaceful life. "I see, so this purple humanoid being follows my every move, it's like it's my own personal bodyguard. But I wonder what exactly it can do." He thought as he approached his newest victim.
The only trouble with killing is finding the best hiding spot for the rest of the bodies while he kept the hand.
However, after examining his victim and taking her somewhere private, his stand exploded the rest of the body, leaving only a trace of ash and the hand. "How convenient. I think I'll enjoy having this ability." He thought as he pocketed the hand. "Such smooth skin, she's perfect~"
As he walked off with his new hand, he wasn't aware of someone in the distance knowing his secret. Kimiko, doing her usual rounds for tea and gossip, stopped in her tracks the moment she laid eyes upon Yoshikage Kira.
"Yoshikage Kira, age 33, businessman, top secrets: Murderer and has a Hand fetish-" She stopped her thoughts, as she reads the first part again.
"Holy shit. Holy shit what do I do? I can't report this to the police, if I do they'll think I'm crazy. Can't put it on my show because of a lack of evidence..." She thought as she started to turn heel.
"Oh! I could tell this to Josuke and his friends, surely they'll believe me. They have to, then we can try and get enough proof that this man is a murderer." She thought as she walked along. She was more frightened than she had ever been in her life, she never would have thought that a seemingly normal looking man was a murderer. "This little town is starting to get creepy."
As she walked along, she couldn't get Kira out of her head. What if he decides to target her next? And since he was never caught, her father would be heartbroken. "I can't put him in any danger, what if this Kira guy is a stand user too?" Kimiko thought as she approached the Higashikata household. Across the street was none other than Paura carrying a shopping back.
"Let's see now, Paura Cygnus. Age 42, former bodyguard to DIO and guardian to Giorno. Stand is capable of creating two copies of people with their worst traits. I wonder what he has in that bag." Kimiko thought. "Ah, there's Josuke's place. I should definitely let them know about Kira."
As she approached, she noticed two other people approach. "Huh? Scuse us lil miss, we're here for-"
"Hol Horse, age 34, former assassin now caregiver of comic artist Boingo. Stand is a gun called Emperor, and your biggest secret is that you have bad luck with women." Kimiko stated, trying to stun him so she could get to Josuke. "Wha- how did you know that?!"
"I'm guessing she's a stand user also, seeing how she knows what stands are." Boingo commented. "Please move I really need to talk to Josuke about something very serious!" She pleaded, fidgeting. However, from how loud the altercation was, Josuke just came out. "Oh, Kimiko, what's up, why are you here?" The pompadoured teen asked. "There's no time to explain, there's a murderer on the loose-"
"A killer? Wait, do you know who they are? Boingo had a prediction saying the same thing but couldn't identify who the murderer was." Hol Horse commented. "Well, his name is Yoshikage Kira. I don't know where he lives but he's a businessman, 33 years old, and he's blonde... I think he was also wearing a purple suit." She stated. "He also had a hand fetish..."
"A hand fetish? Huh, that's weird. I mean, not to kink shame but there are better was to get off than to cut someone's hand off." Josuke stated.
With the new information they had, they now knew who to look out for, as well as to be wary around them during a confrontation. There was still one more issue, they didn't know what sort of stand he had. Because of this, they had to stay on their guard and not get too close. "With how he never left a trace, it would probably make his kills even sneakier." Josuke thought.
The best plan for now was to gather up the other stand users they knew and tell them the news, just in case they managed to find Kira before them. "We'll all meet up at Okuyasu's place, I have a feeling this Kira guy might be the one who killed Reimi too, just a thought." The pompadour haired teen told the others. It was best for them all to remain under one roof, all he could do was hope that his mom wouldn't be put into any danger.
"Man, to think Chiharu was our biggest worry until now. You think she got desperate and decided a killer was the best way to get rid of all of us? I mean, it's not like we killed her boss or anything." Okuyasu thought as they all sat in the main room.
"No, I don't think it was intentional on her part. If it was she would have told him everything and uh, well let's just say we'd all be dead by now."
"Well, Personally... I don't think she even knows where we live or at least where you guys. I mean, if she did you would have been dealt with before I got my stand." Kimiko thought. "That actually makes a lot of sense."
Once everyone, including the stand users not in the friend group, was brought to Okuyasu's home, the news was dropped. "Whoa there's a serial killer in Morioh? And his last name is literally killer in Japanese? Talk about ironic." Hazamada stated, holding Kyo close to him.
"Still, even if we are under attack basically, it's not like we can stay under one roof. Besides, I have a business to run. So does Tonio." Aya commented.
"Fair point... Well, just make sure you're careful, and be aware, the perp has blond hair and wears purple. In my opinion, best thing to do if encountering him is to stay calm if you don't have an offensive stand. If you can attack, don't go in headfirst. Make sure at least I'm there to do healing." Josuke suggested a plan.
"I think that's a great plan. But... If I accidentally bump into him, do you think I'll be able to overpower him with Self Esteem?" Kyo asked. "I wouldn't risk it." the pompadoured teen replied.
The next day, everyone tried to go about business as usual, but they were still on edge with the news of Kira on the loose. The students all stuck together during their school days while the adults kept a low profile when out in public. However there was still one stand user that didn't make it to the meeting, not that he didn't want to. Giorno remained at a small hideaway he and Paura were staying at for the time being, he was still sound asleep as daylight hit Morioh.
Paura would bring him blood bags to feast on whenever the sun was out, but today Giorno wanted to go out on his own with his new parasol. The half vampire walked along the streets until he came across a bag, it smelt like blood but with a mix of perfume. He didn't think much of it, as he stuffed the remains of a con artist he fed on into a similar looking bag. "Could there be another vampire here?" He thought as he approached the bag.
However that would prove to be a bad idea as Kira found the vampire child. "I knew I had forgotten something. Just what do you think you're doing with my beloved?"
Giorno turned to face the man, backing up. "Your beloved? I'm sorry if I interrupted your feeding." He squeaked, thinking this was another vampire.
"Feeding? Why would I eat such a beautiful specimen? Or any human flesh for that matter." Kira questioned. "But if you don't eat them why do you have a hand?" Giorno asked.
"Oh, well... That's none of your business. Though, technically I have no use for this one because she's starting to smell, I guess you could have it once I removed the ring from it." Kira stated, assuming this brat was a cannibal and wouldn't try and ruin his peaceful life.
Giorno, not thinking anything about this, took the hand from this man and drained it off it's blood, biting on the flesh a little. "Oh, so he's a vampire. I guess that would explain the parasol. "Its a bit rotten and the perfume is a bit over powering, but thank you for the meal." Giorno said, leaving.
"That vampire could be good disposal unit for my future exes... And if he ever tries to expose me, I could just have my stand blow up his parasol, and let the sun take care of him." He thought.
Kira just watched as the vampire child left, now he had a surprise for two days in a row. "Oh wait a moment!" He called towards Giorno. "If you ever get hungry again, I will leave out any more bodies for you to feed on." He explained before leaving.
The vampire became confused, why would a human willingly give him a supply of blood? Although he could eat regular foods, he was hesitant to try anything new. "Odd, I guess I could go tell Papa about what happened earlier." He thought as he returned to his home.
As he waited for Paura, he became restless again. The sun was about to go down so he decided to go on another quick walk around. "He's always out getting food for me, I think I'll go and get something for him for a change." He thought, grabbing his parasol.
He knew humans enjoyed sweet foods, he could find a place that sold sweets and buy something for his caretaker. "I have a couple yen on me."
He found himself at the combini, aka a convenience store, Owson. It was a simple store, simple layout. "Hmm... Okay, I need to find something that is either less than or is 50 yen..." He thought looking at the selection of sweets on the shelf.
Unfortunately, he was having difficulty finding any for under 50. He would have stolen some, but it didn't feel right. He eventually found a piece of chocolate that was 40 yen, which he swiftly purchased it and made his way back home.
Once back he noticed Paura was there. "Ah, Giorno, there you are. Where were you?" His caregiver asked. "I wanted to get you something." the half vampire stated as he gave the chocolate to Paura.
"Oh, that's nice of you Giorno, but, please stay here. There's someone dangerous out on the streets." Giorno's guardian stated. "Ah! Speaking of, I met someone on the street. He gave me a hand for me to eat."
"A hand you say? Uh.. Was this man wearing a purple suit and had blonde hair?" Paura immediately asked.
"He talked about how he didn't need the hand anymore, he acted like it was a full human. I thought he was another vampire until he-"
But before Giorno could finish his sentence, Paura immediately held his adoptive son against his chest. "That is a dangerous man, Giorno. He could have killed you too!"
He knew that only sunlight and Hamon could kill a vampire, but Paura wasn't going to take any chances with Kira. "He kills humans and treats women like objects, keeping their hands. Did you know where he went?"
"Oh, no. He did say I could go to him if I ever got hungry again, but he never gave me an address or phone number."
"Well... It seems he trusts you somehow. This could be an advantage to us."
Once night fell, Paura went with Giorno to inform Jotaro and Kakyoin. "So, he just gave you a disembodied hand? And you ate it?" Jotaro asked.
"Well, I was hungry... Anyway, he's trusting me, I cause because technically I am commit a crime too..." Giorno stated. "So what do we do?"
"Hmm... Giorno, you can turn non-living things into living things right?" Kakyoin asked. "I can. why?" The half vampire asked. "Well, I have a plan to tract down his location. We can get a tracker and you can turn into something not noticeable, an insect maybe." The red head commented.
"I see. I could turn it into a ladybug, small, local, not noticable." Giorno stated. "Aren't ladybugs more common in America and not Japan?" Jotaro asked, not up to date on what bugs are in or not in the country.
"Yes, but, due to their similarities with Harmonia axyridis, or the Large Lady Beetle, I think that using it would be fine." Giorno explained.
Looking over at a remaining fingerbone from the hand he ate, Gold Experience emerged, turning the bone into a ladybug. "It will return to the person it last touched." The vampire child said, watching the insect fly off into the night.
Kira paid no mind to a simple insect as he returned to his house. "Hmm, it's a bit of a dump. I might need to move out in a few days. I know my father left me this house when he passed on, but I can't stay forever. I must keep my entire life private and quiet. I have a strange feeling I'm being watched." He thought as he entered his home. The ladybug remained on the window as it watched Kira take a new hand out, rubbing it with a napkin.
Giorno could see what his creations could, and a plus was that if anyone were to swat the ladybug, they would end up in pain instead. "Now what do I do with this arrow? Was this what caused me to obtain Killer Queen? That's what I decided to call you." The man told his stand.
The vampire's eyes widened as he noticed the arrow. "He has the arrow.."
"Damn, we have to get it back as soon as possible. We have his location, he won't be able to handle an entire army of stand users, no matter how much stronger his stand might be." Jotaro explained.
"We better do it quick. He mentioned something about moving." Giorno said before making the ladybug return. With that, the plan was set into motion.
