☆Chapter 10☆

The next day had come and it was a pretty normal for once, no stand users interrupting their day and the only thing they had to worry about was doing schoolwork. That was until after school. Josuke had volunteered to co-run some after school activity and Okuyasu had to deal with something at home, so Koichi went home by himself.

Even though it's been a week since the battle with Yukako, he was still a bit on edge thinking she might be stalking him. However, the short student ran into a different black-haired teen. "Gah! Oh, it's just you, Hazamada."

Hazamada stood there with his boyfriend, Kyo, in tow. They were practically inseparable, being by each other's side constantly. "Oh, yeah Koichi, uh, how's it going?" The ravenette former incel asked. "Oh, um, I'm good. How have things been with you and Kyo?"

"Great actually, I just found out that he's a fan of manga too!" Hazamada squeed. "Oh, so like Shonen Jump or...?"

"Well, I don't know if you heard of the series, but Pink Dark Boy is one of my favorites."

"Pink Dark Boy?!" Koichi asked. "Wait you're also a fan?" The Otaku asked.

"I've got all the volumes, and I made some fanart for the series. I never really had the chance to talk about it with other people before, my sister doesn't really read manga and neither does my mom. Josuke I don't think is much of a manga fan either, but it's nice to hear I can chat with someone who's also a fan." Koichi admitted. "When do you think the next issue will come out?"

"Oh, I hope soon! It's going to be epic, I'm sure of it! And you know what, I have a feeling we might find out sooner than later. Kyo's waiting for us down the street." Hazamada exclaimed. "I mean, if you want to find out anyways."

The platinum blonde slowly approached his former foe as they approached a large mansion. "In here is supposed to be where Rohan Kishbe lives...!" Kyo squeed as they approached. "If we're lucky he's probably inside right now...!"

"Rohan? You mean the creator of Pink Dark Boy?" Koichi asked. "You're sure he lives here?"

"Oh yeah! I saw him enter with a bag of groceries and a manuscript copy; it has to be the newest issue!" Kyo exclaimed. "If we go in, we could get his autograph!"

This had to be too good to be true, could a famous manga artist really live in their small town? "I guess there's just one way to find out, let's go on in."

"Wait, we can't barge in. Rohan may be famous, but we can't just walk on in like we own the place, that wouldn't be polite." Koichi stated. "Oh, I suppose you're right. One of us should ring the doorbell or knock or... Something." Kyo stated before turning his head towards Platinum blonde.

Both of the third years were staring at Koichi, kinda gesturing that he should be the one to do it. "Huh? Why me?"

"Well, you're the one who suggested not barging in. Also I have pretty bad social anxiety I don't want to embaress myself in front of someone famous."

With an soft sigh, Koichi went up to the door, about to press the doorbell when all of a sudden the door flung open and an arm grabbed the first year's arm. "Gah!"

"Who are you? Paparazzi? How did you even get my address, did some incel post it online?" A voice said. Looking up, the voice belonged to the mangaka they were looking for. "Ah, we're just fans of your work, Mr. Kishibe." Hazamada stated. "Oh... You're fans...?" Rohan started as he let go of the first year's arm, opening the door fully showing off his fit.

"Uh hi, uh. Do you do autographs?" Kyo mumbled, slowly approaching the adult. "I have the first issue of Pink Dark Boy with me, and I was hoping you could sign it, um... Can you?"

Shrugging his shoulders, the mangaka took out his pen and signed the issue. "I can't believe our town has such a famous figure living in here, this is amazing!" Hazamada squeed. "How come you're living here instead of somewhere more well known, like Tokyo?"

"You mean where I would be easily found? I needed a break, and this place would be the perfect area to settle down for a while, I need some time away from it all y'know?" Rohan explained. "Then I'll need some inspiration to work on the latest issue of Pink Dark Boy."

"Whoooa, uh. Could we see your office? Your workplace? We just want to know how you do it, the story is just so amazing!" Kyo exclaimed.

"You want to see my place of work, huh? Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to let visitors in, just don't touch anything." Rohan decided. "Come on, it's not much but this place has everything I need."

However, there was another reason Rohan let them inside, he didn't explain just where he gets his inspiration from.

Once they were in Rohan's studio, the three teens were amazed. "Whoa, this place is amazing!" Kyo stated, fanboying as he looked at everything. "Wow, there's original pages and full colored pieces framed on the wall."

"Of course, I drew them so of course I have them framed. It somewhat brings the room together. Anyway, would you like some tea or something? Even if I am a famous mangaka, you're still guests in my home." Rohan asked. "Oh, no, we're good."

"Oh well- Huh?" The mangaka started before noticing something on Hazamada's head. "What's this? Seems like you brought something in with you." He stated, picking a spider off of the ravenette's head. "What? Ew get it off-! Oh you already did. Thank you Mr. Kishibe." The Otaku stated with an awkward laugh.

"... Remember what I told you at the door. That I need inspiration for my work? Well, this spider, for example, is a perfect example of it." Rohan stated as he examined it.

"Big cities don't really have insects. You may be asking why this is important, well, what gets people interested is one thing... Reality!" The mangaka continued as he pulled out an exacto knife.

The three teens winced as they watched Rohan practically dissect the spider right in front of them. "What those other writers have no idea of is exactly how a spider works, they simply believe they can produce an infinite amount of webbing from their abdomen. It takes someone who's truly passionate about their craft to go the extra mile and go into full detail about something so small."

Then the mangaka did the unthinkable, he stuck his tongue out and licked up some of the webbing. Koichi had to hold back a gag as he watched the scene. "Talk about committed to his work, I never would have thought he'd really eat part of a spider's ass." He thought. "Uh, maybe we should go."

"Aw come on, Koichi! We're here right in front of one of the greatest manga artists who ever lived! No one ever gets to have this opportunity before, it's a once in a lifetime thing and I'm gonna treasure every minute of it!" Hazamada insisted.

Kyo however was started to become weirded out as well, holding onto his boyfriend for support. "Uh, we got his autographs, I dunno what else there is to do around here." Then he laid his eyes on a manuscript on the table, could it be the first draft of Pink Dark Boy? "Maybe a tiny peak?"

"You look like you're about to throw up, just wait right there, I'll get a bag for you." Rohan noted, looking at Koichi's green face.

"Oh, no, I'm fi-"

"If you're going to throw up, it would be better if it were in a bag and not on the floor. Do you know how long wood takes to clean, especially unlaminated wood." Rohan stated as he stepped out of the room.

With the mangaka out of the room, the older teens decide to look at the unguarded manuscript. "Wait, Mr. Kishibe said not to touch anything."

"It's only a little peak, and we have clean hands, so what's the worst that could happen?" Kyo stated as he opened the manilla envelope carefully. Taking the first page out carefully, the two older teens were blown away from how amazing the artwork was.

"Omg, this is amazing, the freshness of the artwork is amplifying the quality!" Kyo quietly exclaimed, trying to not alert Rohan of what they were doing. Koichi, not wanting to be spoiled on the plot, tried looking away but something drew him to take a peek.

Once they're eyes had a look at the page, Rohan returned. "Excuse me, what do you think you're doing?"

"Ah! Mr. Kishibe we-"

"If you were reading my lasting manuscript, that's rather impolite... But before I kick you out I might as well take a look within your pages." The mangaka sighed. "Please forgi- Wait pages?"

Before any of the three teens could react, Rohan held up a blank sheet of manuscript paper in front of them. As soon as they laid eyes on the blank paper, their bodies suddenly unraveled like sheets of paper. "Gah! Is this another stand ability?!" Koichi thought, he made a dash to the door, only for his arm to come apart as pages detailing his life spread out over the floor.

"Witness Heaven's Door! A gateway into your history, from your birth to up to your most recent actions. I will soon know more about you than you know about yourselves." Rohan smirked. "And yes, it is a stand, Koichi."

The blonde teen squeaked as he felt pages that were once a part of his face be held. "Let's see now, you have a stunted growth and have been mistaken for a young child often, I see? And just recently a girl kidnapped you with her own hair? How pathetic." The mangaka read. "Now how about you?"

He made a reach for Kyo, grabbing some pages. "Oh now this is intriguing, you have a paper stand of your own? That can control your opponents to obeying your every whim?"

"I uh... I guess?" Kyo stammered out. Even in this situation, he was starstruck to have Rohan holding his face and saying he was intriguing. "Oh, and not only do you have daddy issues, but also mommy issues! What an interesting contradiction! Also that fact you come from wealth, and yet were sent away due to your lack of friends your age."

"Wait you're rich?" Hazamada asked. "I mean, yeah, I didn't want to tell you since I didn't want you to be attracted to me due to my money." Kyo mumbled. "Oh, I might have to take some of these pages for later." The mangaka stated as he literally ripped the pages from Kyo's face. "Ah!"

"Now then, let's see what your boyfriend has instore." Rohan smirked as he looked through the pages of Hazamada. However, he was left disappointed.

"Oh... You're disgusting. You used to abuse helpless birds and kittens, not to mention your top fetishes are sexual assault and humiliation... Clearly, Kyo was the only good thing to have happen in your life since you've stopped having a god complex. You're vile, too vile for my manga, you disgust me." The mangaka sneered, turning back to Kyo. "The fact you saw something in him is beyond me. Anyway, I'll be borrowing these for a bit." He stated as ripped out pages from the brunette's face.

Using all of his strength, Kyo summoned Self Esteem and shot it out the window, hoping that maybe someone would be able to tell something was wrong, even if most of their classmates would be busy with one thing or another.

However, one man was able to catch a glimpse of the paper plane falling out the mansion window, Paura was sitting on some rooftops when he noticed Self Esteem. He heard from Jotaro and Kakyoin about the new stand users roaming Morioh, so he decided to stay in case they would require his stand. "Most likely that high schooler that tagged Josuke with that same plane." He thought.

He slid down the sewage pipe beside the house he was on and leapt up towards the brick house. Maneuvering his way around the outside was a piece of cake without shoes, The Enemy Within was kept in arm's reach in case he would need to create a copy of whoever was keeping the three teens hostage. "I see Koichi, and those two must be those third years."

Paura swung himself upwards, looking for a way to sneak inside without Rohan noticing. "What's this? A new-" But before the mangaka could finish his sentence, Paura had a clear shot and grabbed Rohan's face with his gloved hand.

"Gah! What the hell?!" Rohan exclaimed as he was touched. Soon enough, The Enemy Within started to turn into a copy of Rohan. "What the? What is that?" Hazamada asked, not being exposed to TEW before. "That's The Enemy Within. It can make a copy of a person but amplifies their worst qualities." Koichi explained.

"Really? What could possibly be my worst trait? I don't even have a 'worst trait'." Rohan asked as he prepared to unravel Paura like he did the teens. However, he was stopped by the copy.

"Oh, yeah mr. Rohan 'I rip people's memories out of their face' Kishibe doesn't have a flaw, tsk, don't be ridiculous." The copy said. "Huh, he seems exactly like Mr. Kishibe."

"Are you serious? How do you think you'll land a guy when act like such a bitch? You front with all your negative traits." Clonehan asked, clearly annoying the original. "At least I have style-"

"You have autism, I should know, I'm you.  And the only reason you have style is from Gucci and Prada giving you promotional items after commissioning you." The clone stated before the real Rohan started beating his ass.

Paura was surprised, the Rohan copy produced by his glove seemed to behave exactly like the real deal. But he didn't have time to stop and think about how this never happened before, he jumped forward between the bickering two in order to get to Koichi. "So, he's capable of tearing the memories out of people, how is this possible?" He demanded.

"His stand, it looks like some sort of manga manuscript. If you look at it, you'll unravel like we did! He'll have to call it back himself, uh and I don't think we'd be safe around fire either." Koichi squeaked, he tried to summon Echoes, but whatever Rohan did to his pages made it impossible.

The green-eyed man nodded, keeping his eyes shut once he heard Rohan coming his way. "Gah, your stand is my equal in size and strength, yet it spews out binary code when I cut it with my knife." He remarked. "But everyone does evil clone stories, even if amplifying the worst personal trait, one has is quite unique. Are you new here?"

"What do you have to gain from this?" Paura growled, keeping his eyes closed.

"What do I have to gain from this? Isn't it obvious? I need material!" Rohan exclaimed. "Is that all? Don't you have enough money from book sales-"

"No! Do you seriously think I do this just for money? If I did, I'd just become a prostitute! I do it so that people will read it." Rohan stated. "Now then, I better erase their memories of this altercation. I wouldn't want my name to be tarnished." The mangaka smirked as he reached for Koichi's pages. However, something happened.

A paper airplane hit him in the back of the head. Kyo was using the last bit of strength in him to summon and attack with Self Esteem, thinking there was no other option. "I... Kyo..." Was all Rohan said as he deactivated Heaven's door, causing them to turn back to normal, except for Kyo passing out.

"What the... Well at least he's docile now. So do we just yank the plane out or-"

"If we yank it out, Rohan will kill himself. Trust me this happened with Josuke." Koichi stated, standing up. "But what do we do with him? He's just watching over Kyo. We can't just take him back, he'll probably hit us with Heaven's door again."

Paura retrieved his glove once Clonehan was completely obliterated, all he wanted to do now was stay as far away from the mangaka as possible, who knows what would happen if Rohan found out about his past. "We'll need to call Josuke here, where is he? Crazy Diamond should be able to give him energy." The older man suggested.

"Him? Still at that after school event probably, it couldn't have been that long since Rohan invited us all in here." Koichi wondered. He was about to reach for Kyo when Rohan slapped his hand away. "He's now acting like an overprotective dad to the guy."

He recalled what the mangaka had read about Kyo earlier, how he had bad issues with both of his parents. It must have messed him up badly and explains how his stand causes whoever is hit to become completely loyal to him. "I'll try calling him if he's back."

The pompadour haired teen was sipping coffee at his house when he heard the phone ring. "Higashikita residence, who's calling?" Josuke answered.

"Josuke? Hey it's Koichi. So uh, we found another stand user."

"Really? I knew today was going too well. You know where you are?" Josuke asked before getting the address from Koichi. Once he arrived, he seen the situation; Rohan on the floor, holding a knocked out Kyo in his arms, Hazamada having a cut on his leg that the mangaka gave him.

"So uh-"

"Josuke, thank god your here. Kyo used Self Esteem on Rohan and passed out and now Rohan is acting like some sort of dad now? It's hard to explain." Koichi explained. "Okay, seems like an easy solution." Josuke stated as he summoned Crazy Diamond. But Rohan wasn't having any of it.

"Don't you dare touch him!" The mangaka yelled out, getting defensive as he placed Kyo gently down on the floor. "Well, if I don't, he won't wake up. Now move your twink ass before I have to-" Josuke started before being hit with something, the manuscript. "Don't read it Josuke!" Koichi exclaimed. "What is this manga? I don't even read that stuff anyway-"

However, he got a glance which was enough for Heaven's door to activate. "I warned you.

Now then let's read." He stated before reading, then pausing. "Wait... This is exactly like... That guy's comic. I dare not utter his name. " He groaned. "You're completely useless to me."

Josuke struggled as he attempted to summon Crazy Diamond despite being unraveled, but Heaven's Door compelled him not to. "Gah, well if you want Kyo to recover you better let me summon my stand!"

More pages were flipped through Josuke's memories, Rohan skimming over them until he got to the earliest memory of the teen's life. "So just weeks before your mother had to leave on a business trip, you fell deathly ill and required immediate medical attention. Your mom's car got stuck in a snowbank and all seemed lost until a stranger with a weird hairdo came and pushed it free." Rohan read.

"Grrrr, you got some nerve outing me like that!"

"Outing? Oh please, I just read the origin of that little rats nest infested with fleas that you call a hairdo." The mangaka sneered. "Now this part looks juicy, it appears Josuke was never always your name. Your real name is-"

Josuke flew into a fit of rage the moment he heard what Rohan was about to read next. He seemed to completely power through Heaven's Door as he lunged for the manga artist. "Don't you dare read that!!"

"Gah!" Rohan exclaimed as he was tackled and pinned to the floor. "Oh my god, Rohan's transphobic?" Hazamada stated. "Huh? How am I transphobic?"

"You literally almost deadnamed Josuke, how is that not transphobic?" He stated. Seeing how Rohan cared about his image, the threat that he isn't an ally for the trans community could be a way to blackmail him, which was ironic coming from him, an ex-transphobe.

"Ah! Wait, I'll call back Heaven's Door, don't spread that around." Rohan said removing the effects of Heaven's door from Josuke, allowing him to heal Kyo. But something was still on Koichi's mind. "Hey who were you talking about, when you said Josuke was of no use to you?"

"Huh? Isn't it obvious? Boingo. He's two years younger than me but he's my biggest competition. And basically, I'm assuming his comics are based on his adventures, so I can't use Josuke's memories as reference since people might say I was stealing Boingo's idea... But his style doesn't even look that good! It's dumb!" Rohan ranted about his beef with an 18-year-old.

"You're rivals with Boingo? Wow, I knew him since I was practically born." Josuke laughed. "And I'm glad it was him and not you, he's a lot more chill."

"Ugh, you prefer his style over mine? It looks like it was drawn by a five-year-old! And the comic stand-in for Boingo looks nothing like him! He should hire someone who actually knows how to draw to do his line work." Rohan snorted. It was clear he was quite haughty about his work.

Josuke didn't want to hear another word, once Kyo removed Self Esteem he should be able to wail on the mangaka without a second thought. "I don't think I'd even need Crazy Diamond to beat up this twink." He thought, punching a wall just to show how irritated he was. "So can you get rid of the paper plane without immediately making him suicidal?"

"Uh, I'll try." Kyo focused entirely on getting Rohan back to his old self as he slowly pulled at the plane. The man flinched as Self Esteem was removed from him; it was like pulling a long splinter out from his skin. "Uh, Mr. Kishibe, how do you feel?"

The mangaka didn't respond, mostly because Josuke had kicked him in the balls for nearly deadnaming him. If he was any madder, he would have completely trashed the room and tore apart his stuff. "So should we beat him up together?"

"I mean I don't know if I can summon my stand anymore, he did something to make it stop forming-" Koichi stated before Echoes appeared. "Huh?"

"You think I took your stand away? I merely made it so you couldn't attack me." Rohan stated quietly, still recovering from his balls being kicked. "So uh... Are you suicidal?"

"I mean, one hit isn't enough to make me want to end it all, besides, I'm only 20, I still have to make manga. My fan would be disappointed in me if I killed myself." The mangaka said as he sat up. "Well, at least he wasn't planning on killing himself. I think that means my stand is improving?" Kyo stated, questioning it.

"Y'know, good for you." Koichi stated as he watched Josuke fight on his behalf since he didn't want to get violent. Kyo then turned to Hazamada who was just sat there. "Toshi, you good?"

"I- Wait, Toshi?"

"Toshikazu is your first name, right? I thought maybe I could give you a lil nickname since we're dating." Kyo explained, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You... You still want to date me? Even after what Rohan exposed?"

Kyo just kissed him. "Of course I do, what he exposed doesn't change a thing about how I see you. You're not that same person you were before, Rohan had some nerve to do that to you." He insisted. "We could go out somewhere, just us two and just be together."

"Yeah, I'd like that." Hazamada smiled, laying his head on Kyo's shoulder as they left. The group all left now that Rohan wasn't going to bother them anymore, especially once Josuke was done completely wailing on him. Once he was done, Rohan had to announce that the story would be delayed as he recovered.

"Damn, that was easy." Josuke remarked once they left. "I was so sure each stand user we faced would be tougher than the last, but I guess it wasn't the case this time."

"We got lucky this time, but we still need to find that arrow. She should still be in Morioh, at least she's our only worry right now." Koichi thought as they returned to the Higashikata household. The arrow was still fresh in their minds, but now they had more allies to rely on, it shouldn't be too hard to retrieve the arrow.

As they walked, they didn't notice Yukako staring from afar. Even after all that happened, she still had a crush on Koichi. There had to be another way to get him to love her. "Maybe it's how I look? If I could change this plain appearance, I should be able to become irresistible to him." She thought.

She decided to go downtown, stumbling across a beauty shop she had never seen before.

"A beauty salon? What a coincidence that this opened up during my search to become more beautiful for Koichi." She thought, looking at the sign they were open and, luckily, it was still a hidden gem so there wasn't a line to get in.

Once inside, black-haired girl noticed a taller, sleek and slender woman behind the counter. Her dirty blond hair was tied in a low ponytail, and she had two arching bangs. She looked up from her book.

"Ah, my first customer. Welcome to Cinderella. I assume you don't have an appointment, that's fine though, after all, you are the first person to show up here." The woman said. "My name is Aya Tsuji, I'll be your beautician for today. What is your name and treatment you desire for today?"

"Oh, my name is Yukako Yamagishi and uh... What are the types of treatment you do?" The girl asked. Aya then tapped the laminated paper on the counter, showing the difference procedures and treatments she provided.

There were three options, but one of them made Yukako curious. "You can improve features to make them loveable?" She asked reading it. She didn't fully believe it, after all, make up was good but it's not that good.

"Oh yes! As soon as we're finished with you, no boy will ever get their eyes off of you! Or girls, whichever you prefer. If you want we can start with the basics, do up your hair and apply some foundation to make your skin silky smooth. And then there's something a little more, we're having a discount for this." Aya explained.

"Uh, well there is someone in particular that I want to impress, he's short with platinum blonde, almost silver hair. His name is Koichi and lately, I've found myself completely in love with him. It's like him and I are soulmates. It's the best way to describe it." Yukako confessed. "I just need to find a way for him to never get his eyes off of me."

"Well then I think we should go above and beyond for this treatment. Once your treatment is done, Koichi will be all for you, practically bowing at your feet. Just follow me and soon you'll be the prettiest in your high school."
