Popular Dean/Nerd Castiel

Castiel gets bullied by the one and only Azazel. His backups are Crowley and Alistair. They make sure to not leave bruises or scars where they would easily be seen. They don't want his brothers going after him. Castiel has 8 siblings: Lucifer, Zachariah, Michael, Gabriel, Anna, Samandriel (they call him Alfie), Hannah, and Naomi. Castiel, Dean, and Lucifer are all seniors. Gabriel, Sam, and Alfie are sophomores. The rest are either graduated or not in high school yet. One day, Castiel and Dean meet.

*Castiel's POV*

Azazel has just beat me up in the janitors closet. When they leave, they turn the lights off. I'm too lazy to move, but when I hear people walking towards the room, I hide behind a couple bins filled with decorations for the upcoming dance. The door opens and I duck my head. I hear light kissing and moaning. I scrunch up my face in disgust, not wanting to listen to two people have sex. My hands cover my ears and I accidentally bump the bin.

"Shit," someone mutters quietly. "Go back to class, I'll be there in a couple minutes. Want to find out who'd be sick enough to listen to us without speaking up." I hear a a quick kiss before the door opens. It shuts again and I hide my face in my knees. The light switch flips on and I start to tremble in fear. "What the hell?" The voice sounds like he's right in front of me, but I don't dare look up. "There's blood all over this closet, all over you. Are you okay?" I shake my head no, not trusting my voice. "I'm taking you to the nurse, come on." I flinch as he lays a gentle hand on my shoulder. "I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want to get you checked out to make sure you're okay."

"No," I reply quietly. He jumps back at the sound of my voice. I slowly lift my head up to see the one and only, Dean Winchester. My breathing hitches as I see him take in all my features before staring into my eyes. I dig my head back into my knees. "Go away, Winchester."

"You know my name?" He asks.

"No shit. Most popular guy in school, remember?" I ask with sarcasm. I shrink as I realize what I had just said. "Sorry."

"Don't apologize," Dean sighs. "Where's the blood coming from? I would've expected a bloody nose, or at least something."

"They're careful," is all I reply with.

"Who?" He asks. I shake my head, quickly standing up. I use the wall to support myself as a pain shoots down my right leg. "Woah, you okay?"

"Do I look like I'm okay?" I retort. He raises his hands up in the air as a sign of backing off. "Sorry, I'm used to hearing that all the time. Gets annoying." He looks at me skeptically. "My brothers and sisters. I'm the middle child. Four older four younger."

"Holy shit," Dean says. "How many of them go here?"

After doing the math in my head, I reply. "Three." I stand up straight and hiss as another pain shoots through my leg. Dean watches me as I walk over to the janitor door. I take a deep breath before walking out. I try my hardest not to limp around, especially in the halls.

When lunch time arrives, I see Gabriel, Alfie, and Lucifer sitting alone at a table. I quickly glance at the 'popular' table, and there Dean was. Our eyes meet for a split second before I force my gaze to my brothers. I take my usual seat next to Alfie and look up at Gabe. He has a small smirk plastered across his face. I tilt my head in confusion, furrowing my eyebrows.

"Saw you checking out Winchester," Gabe says. Lucifer and Alfie look over to me.

"For your information, I was not checking him out. We ran into each other earlier and talked for a bit," I inform him.

"Woo! Get some, Cassie!" Gabe fist pumps the air while yelling loudly. I cover my face with my hands in embarrassment. After taking a deep breath, I pull them away.

"I'm going to kill you in your sleep," I hiss.

"Sounds fun. What time?" Lucifer asks. Gabe glares at him, making me chuckle softly.

"Seriously, Gabe. There's nothing going on between us. I accidentally interrupted his make out session with some random chick. It was an accident," I tell him.

"Eat your food, Cass," Alfie says quietly. I nod my head before pulling out my pre-packed lunch.

Throughout the whole lunch period, I felt as if someone was looking at me. The rest of the day goes smoothly until I realize I left my gym clothes in the small locker room. I told Gabriel to tell everyone I'll walk home, since I forgot something. I make my way inside, only to see someone standing in front of my locker, shirtless. His body is toned, even though I can only see his back. I carefully walk over to my locker. He hears my footsteps and turns around. I don't bother looking to see who it is, since I hate the smell of the boys' locker room. I put in my code before unlocking it.

"Didn't mean to stand in your way," he tells me. My breathing hitches at his voice. Dean Winchester, again. I keep my head turned away from Dean, afraid I might stare.

"It's okay, Winchester. You should really put your shirt back on, you know. Why are you even still here?" I ask him.

"My shirt is on. You just happened to walk in when it wasn't," he remarks. "I got held back talking to the coach about the game."

"That's like three weeks from now," I remind him.

"Yeah, but it's the biggest game this season. He kept asking who I was going to give my jacket to," he sighs. "I hate that we do that. It's so weird, especially since I'm not dating."

"Everybody knows that, Winchester. You're with a new girl every week. Not hard to notice," I reply. After picking up my gym clothes, I shut my locker. "Thanks for helping me earlier. Bye."

"I don't even know your name!" Dean calls back to me.

I chuckle softly to myself. "Bye, Winchester!" I yell back as the door closed behind me.

I slip my hand hand in my pocket, feeling for my phone. Great, it's gone. I walk for about 15 minutes before it starts raining. I groan in annoyance, using my trench coat to cover my already wet body. After walking for about 10 more minutes, I hear a honk from the street. I look over and squint my eyes, seeing a familiar car. It takes a couple seconds for me to see the person in the drivers seat. He pulls over to the side of the road and I walk over to him.

"Two things. One, get in," Dean tells me. I furrow my eyebrows and tilt my head. He chuckles softly before continuing. "I'll drop you off. Don't want you getting sick." I hesitantly walk to the passengers side and hop in. He must've put a blanket down as I was walking over, because it immediately engulfs me as I sit down. "Two, you forgot your phone in the locker room. Must've slipped out of your pocket or something."

I give him my address, silently hoping it isn't such a mad house when we arrive like it usually is. "Can I call my dad?" Dean nods. I press on his number and put it up to my ear, which I dried off with the blanket. He picks up on the second ring. "Hey, dad. Sorry, I forgot my phone in the locker room."

"Why was it in the locker room?" He asks.

"Because I needed my gym clothes. Must've slipped out of my pocket. Listen, I'll be home in like two minutes. Can you make sure everyone's not going crazy?" I ask.

"Bringing a boy home, Cass?" Dad asks.

"Dad! What is it with you guys always saying stuff like that?" I ask.

"It's obvious!" Gabe yells into the phone. I pull it away from my ear and wince.

"I hate you, Gabriel. This is what I'm talking about. No pranks, no tricks. Luci too. Alfie is okay, he doesn't act stupid like you do," I say, not meaning it to be harsh. Gabriel laughs on the other line, along with my dad, then followed by me. "Is the front door unlocked?"

"Lucifer Novak! Open the front door so he's not standing outside in the rain!" Dad yells. I pull my phone away from my ear and glare at it.

"You're rude," I tell my dad. "No need for all the yelling. You're turning into Gabe."

Dad laughs softly. "Everyone's either at work or in their rooms. See you when you get here," he tells me.

"Bye, dad," I say before hanging up. "Sorry about that."

"They seem like a handful. So I know your last name is Novak, because of Lucifer's reputation in school. Am I ever gonna know your first name?" Dean asks.

"One day, Winchester. One day," I say with a slight smirk as we pull into the driveway. Lucifer opens the door and smirks at me. I flip him off from the car before turning back to Dean. "Thanks for taking me home. I'd be drenched by now."

"No problem, Novak. See you tomorrow," Dean tells me.

I nod before pulling my trench coat above my head. After quickly opening and closing the passenger side door, I race to the front porch and quickly run inside. I decide to peek my head out to wave goodbye, but he's already driving off.

The rest of the night was spent talking about me and Dean, even though there was nothing to talk about. They made stuff up, to keep things interesting. I wake up the next morning and quickly get ready for school. I hop on the bus with Gabe, Luci, and Alfie after saying goodbye to my dad.

"You gonna talk to Dean today?" Luci asks.

"Luci, stop it. No, I'm not. I heard enough of this last night, I don't need it spreading around the school," I sigh.

"Fine," Luci huffs. I roll my eyes as a small smile creeps onto my face. We arrive at the school and everyone hops out of the bus. Lucifer wraps an arm around my neck, leading me into the school. Gabe goes his separate way with Alfie, since they're not in our grade. We walk through the halls until we reach our home room. Soon enough, home room dismisses. "I'll see you at lunch, Cassie."

I nod my head and start to pack up the papers I was studying. As usual, I'm late to leave class. Meaning there's no one in the halls and I'm late to my next period. I see Dean walking past me with another girl. He smiles politely at me as I roll my eyes. That's disgusting. Stick to one person. Before he was out of earshot, someone slammed me against the lockers.

I whimper out in pain, looking up to see Azazel. "You're so pathetic, you know that? Can't even stand up for yourself. I hope you didn't tell anyone about yesterday, or else I'm gonna have to do it." He leans in and whispers in my ear. "And nobody will stop me, not even you." I squeeze my eyes shut and let out another whimper.

"No, please don't. I didn't tell anyone, I swear!" I plead. He pulls back and looks be in the eyes.

"Good boy, I'm taking you to mine after school," he says louder, thinking everyone was in their classrooms.

"No, please," I cry out. "I don't want to, I'm not ready. That's rape."

"You'll enjoy it, I promise," he says, smirking at me. I shake my head no and tears brim my eyes. He pulls his hand back and I squeeze my eyes shut, waiting for the blow. Once I open my eyes, I see Dean glaring at Azazel. Dean is grabbing Azazel's fist so he can't hit me. Azazel gulps visibly and I see the fear in his eyes. "Dean."

Everybody adores Dean in this school. He's the most popular kid here. He's gotten into a few fights before over his ex, Lisa. After that, nobody messed with him. He's respected for standing up to bullies and he's always nice to everyone. If someone is about to get in a fight with Dean, they know they're going to get pummeled.

"What gives you the right to try and rape, along with hit him?" Dean asks quietly, not wanting to draw any attention to the classes nearby.

"I – he – I," Azazel stutters. He takes a deep breath, building up his confidence. "And what gives you the right to stop me? You know nothing about this freak."

Dean takes a deep breath. "I suggest you take off, Azazel. I don't want to see you near him again, you hear me?" Azazel nods furiously. Dean let's go of his fist and Azazel scurries off to his class. As Azazel drops his other hand from holding me against the locker, I fall to the floor. I blink a couple times, not believing what just happened. "Novak, are you okay?"

"No," I say quietly. I pull my legs to my chest, wrapping my arms around them, and resting my chin on my knees. "Yesterday, he almost..."

"Hey, you're okay now. No need to explain to me," Dean tells me. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Dean? Where'd you–" the girl from earlier cuts herself short as she notices us. Dean is kneeling down in front of me while I'm sitting on the ground leaning against a locker. She notices my tears and stifles a laugh. "Why are you hanging out with this pathetic fag over me?"

"Excuse me?" Dean asks. He gets up and walks over to the girl. "Would you like to repeat that?"

"What's it to you?" She asks.

"He's my friend. What's the difference between sexual orientation? The person. They're still in love, it's just not what people are used to. So they judge, thinking that being gay or bisexual is wrong. It's not wrong, it just changes who they're attracted to. I don't know why everyone makes a big deal about if someone's gay or straight, or any other sexual orientation. There's no point to it. Just because they like the same gender, or are attracted to both, or anything else, it doesn't mean that it's wrong."

The girl stands there dumbfounded as I sit there with shock. "I should've seen this coming. You're too nice, and now you're in love with him. A guy, Dean."

"I'm not –" Dean stands there dumbfounded, just like the girl was a few moments ago. "He's my friend, okay? Nothing more. Never anything more. Just because I'm not homophobic, it doesn't mean that my sexuality has changed."

I can't help the sharp feeling in my chest. I take a deep breath, only to release a cough that stings my throat. Someone sits down next to me as I lean my head back on the locker once again, closing my eyes.

"Go away, Dean. I'm fine now," I tell him.

"I'm sitting with you at lunch. We'll talk about it then," Dean says before getting up and walking to his class.

The next couple classes go by fast, and before I know it, it's lunch. I sit down in my usual seat, waiting for them to arrive. Alfie, Gabe, then Luci. I look around, seeing Dean talk to the girl from earlier. She looks annoyed.

"What's up with you, Cassie? Winchester, second day in a row," Gabe says. Dean departs from her and walks over to us. He takes a seat next to me as the three of them stare at him. "Cass?"

"So that's your name," Dean says, looking over to me.

"It's Castiel, not Cass," I reply. "This is Gabe, Lucifer, and Alfie."

"Nice to meet you. Well, besides Lucifer," Dean says.

"Not that I don't like having this conversation, but why are you here?" Lucifer asks.

"You haven't told them?" Dean asks me.

"They don't know. At all. He'd be dead already if they did," I point out.

"You're lucky he's not already," Dean replies.

"He's scared of you, Dean. He ran off," I say.

"Dean?" Someone asks from behind. We turn around and I see a brown haired boy, with a surprisingly tall stature. He looks younger, though. "Why aren't you sitting with us?" I furrow my eyebrows before tilting my head. He looks familiar.

"Go back to the table, Sammy. I've gotta talk to Cass and his brothers real quick. You gotta ride tonight or should I take you home?" Dean asks.

"I'll stay with you today. Meet you at your lockers," he says before walking off.

"Who was that?" Alfie asks. We turn back to face the table.

"My brother. He's a sophomore. Advanced classes all around," Dean replies. "Anyway, Cass, why didn't you tell them?"

"It's not that easy, Dean," I say.

"He almost – you almost – Cass, you gotta tell them," Dean says.

"Tell us what?" Gabe asks.

"Dean," I sigh. "Well, uh, you know how you thought I was just really clumsy?"

"I don't like where this is going," Alfie says.

"Azazel, Crowley, Alistair. Dean and I met because he found me in a closet I was beat up in. Of course, he thought I was a freak eavesdropping," I laugh.

"You could've told us to go away," Dean points out, laughing along.

"That would inquire you having to know the reason why," I reply. "Anyway, he knew I was getting hurt by people. Then earlier he saw Azazel pin me to the lockers. Scared him off."

"I'm gonna kill him," Luci says.

"I'm in," Gabe adds.

"I don't know," Alfie says.

"Guys, no. Dean took care of it," I tell them.

"Anything else you want to add?" Dean asks, referring to the 'rape' part.

"No, not really," I reply, keeping my gaze to the table.

"If it happens again you better tell us," Luci says.

"It won't. Okay?" I ask.

They sigh in agreement. "You feeling okay?" Dean asks. "Leg not broken or anything?"

"No, just bruised. Along with my ankle. That's why it hurt so much," I tell him. "Don't worry about me, I'm fine."

•••

Two weeks pass by. Dean and I exchanged numbers and that's the only way we communicate. Today is the day the team hands in their jackets. The jackets are for the teammates to wear when they're not in practice, or to just wear whenever. It's now the last period of the day, the time they're handed out. Everyone is seated in the auditorium as we wait for the jackets to be distributed. Someone walks in with Dean's jacket, easily noticeable because he's team captain. The other jackets are white and black, but Dean's is black and white. They read the name attached to the paper before looking confused. I roll my eyes as they walk to the podium. Gabe, Luci, and Alfie look over at me. I give them the best bitch face I could before turning back to the podium.

"Castiel Novak?" They ask.

Chatter starts amongst the crowd. I sit there stunned as Dean gets up from the seat. He walks to the podium and takes his jacket before whispering something to the person standing there. He looks through the crowd, eyes stopping on me. People watch as he walks up the steps. Conveniently, I'm on the end.

"Had no one else to give it to," Dean smirks.

"Just give me the jacket, assbutt," I reply. We both laugh and he hands me the jacket. "I've gotta wear it until the game, right?"

"Obviously. That's the point of giving it out early. See ya, Cass," he says, walking back to his seat.

"I knew it!" Gabe whisper-yells.

"Shut it," I glare. People stare at me as I put the jacket on. I pull out my phone to text Dean.

Dean

Me: Thanks for that. Gabe won't shut up now

Dean: Rather give it to you than some random girl who'd make a big fuss about it and try to have some type of relationship

Me: Is that supposed to be a compliment?

Dean: Yes. If anyone says shit to you, tell me

Me: It's a jacket, Dean. They saw us sitting together at lunch two weeks ago. If there was something between us we'd be together 24/7

Dean: We text 24/7

Me: You're not helping. You're the one who's always bored

Dean: And you're the one who lays awake at night texting me

Me: Ouch. You know I can't sleep easily

Dean: I'm not blaming you lol

Dean: Hey, you mind if Sam tags along with us today?

Me: Gotta take care of Hannah and Michael tonight. Dad's not gonna be there and nobody else will do it properly

Me: Come over. Sure Gabe wouldn't mind seeing Sam again

Dean: Why?

Me: He has a slight slight crush on him. It's adorable

Dean: Cute. Sam likes him but he's too afraid to talk to him

Me: Gabe acts crazy. Thinking Sam won't like him because of his multiple daily pranks

The bell rings, so people start filing out. I stop the three of them before they can walk out. "Be on good behavior tonight. It's my turn to take care of Michael and Hannah," I tell them.

We quickly get on the bus and arrive home. Dean texts to say he'll be over in a couple minutes, since he's getting food. I tell him the door will be unlocked. The three go in their rooms as Hannah and Michael run out of their rooms.

"Cassie!" They yell.

"Hey, kiddos. You eat?" I ask them. They shake their heads. "Something small. Want to keep your appetite for dinner." I pull the strawberries from the fridge and put three on each plate. I open the sugar and put it on the plate. I sigh, seeing the sugar was replaced with flour. "I'm gonna kill you, Gabe!"

"Sounds like a fun house," Dean laughs from the doorway. "What'd he do this time?"

"Sugar replaced with flour," I reply. "Hey, Sam."

"Well the sugar was gone. Had to fill it up somehow," Gabe smirks, taking one of the strawberries. I smack his hand away. "Ow! What's that for?"

"No food for you. This is for Hannah and Michael. Get your own," I reply. "Just set it down on the table, Dean. Sam, you want anything to drink?"

"Water," Sam says.

"What's that smell?" Naomi asks.

"Not for you. Shouldn't you be at work?" I ask.

"Called out. Got a date later," she tells me.

"Of course you do," I scoff.

"Can I have some?" Zachariah asks, walking into the room.

"It's mine," Luci says.

"Stop that, Luci," Anna huffs.

"He's never gonna change. Don't bother," Alfie says.

"Is there some sort of family meeting I don't know about?" I ask.

"Food," they all reply. Hannah and Michael take their strawberries to the table to sit down and eat.

"It's not for you. Go to your rooms. If you couldn't tell, I have guests," I say.

They push into the kitchen and go to different sections. I get pushed out as they fight for food.

"Assbutts," I huff.

"Sounds like a fun household," Sam laughs.

"Don't know if 'fun' would be the way to put it," I reply. I walk over to the two six year olds. "Good?" I ask.

"Thanks, Cassie!" They yell.

"You don't need to yell," I laugh. "Clean your rooms after you finish up." They groan in response. "Don't 'ugh' me. They're filthy. You trip every single day."

"You're good with kids," Dean says.

"Having many siblings helps. Doesn't help that we all live in the same household," I reply.

"Hey, Cass. There's a party tonight. I've been avoiding going to them ever since we started talking, so my friends are basically begging me to go. I don't want to go alone, though," Dean says.

"Are you asking me to be your date?" I joke, slightly laughing.

"Cute, but no," he laughs. "We don't usually talk unless it's texting or one of the rare occasions we hang out. We'd be texting anyway. Just rather have someone to drive me home."

"You don't let anybody drive your car, Dean," Sam points out.

"Hey, Cassie," Luci says, wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "Winchester's treating you okay?"

I roll my eyes and huff. "We talk, that's it. I've dealt with this enough already."

"You're my little brother, can't help but care about you," Luci says.

"You're ten minutes older, Lucifer. Stop acting like it's a big deal," I tell him.

"Fine, fine. What you boys planning on doing tonight?" He asks.

"Dean is taking me to a party. Needs someone to handle him when he's drunk," I laugh.

"That's not what I said, Cass," Dean says.

"That's what you said, Dean," Sam says.

"Hey, Sam. I've got an xbox, want to go play a game?" Gabe asks. Sam nods and they walk off.

"First party, Cassie. Have fun. Don't stay up too late. Come back by 2 or I'll come looking for you," Lucifer tells me.

"Okay, Luce. Bonding time is over, go to your room," I say, lightly pushing him off of me. He laughs and walks off.

"Go get dressed, keep the jacket on," Dean tells me.

"What? Why?" I ask.

"Because I'm not letting you wear that trench coat to the party," he replies.

"I, uh, don't know what to wear," I tell him as I walk to my room. He follows behind me and I lead him inside. I open my closet before skimming through my outfits. "Dean, help."

Dean laughs before walking over to me. He pulls out a grey button up shirt. "Try it on." I look over to the door, silently telling him to leave. "Wow, okay. Hope you got a nice pair of jeans to go with that." He walks out of the room, so I change. (Picture is attached.)

I open the door and Dean looks over at me. "Good enough?" Dean smirks at me before nodding. "Why's the school jackets so fancy looking?"

"What? They're jackets," Dean tells me as we walk to the couch. "We've got like 6 hours until the party." He looks over at me before continuing. "You look good in my jacket."

"Thanks," I laugh softly. "I give it back after the game, right?"

"Only if we both agree to it," Dean tells me. "I used to think it was stupid, but now I'm glad I had to pick someone. Couldn't have looked better on anyone else."

"Okay, that's enough flirting for the day," I joke, slightly blushing. Dean's face turns pink, but he hides it with a chuckle. "It would look good on anybody, Dean. It's a really nice jacket."

•••

"You must be Dean Winchester. Kids won't stop nagging Cass about you," Dad says.

"Okay, that's it. We're leaving," I say, pushing Dean to the door in front of me. "Bye, dad! Be home by 2!"

"2am?!" Dad asks.

"Ask Luci!" I yell as I shut the door. Dean laughs and walks over to the drivers side. We get in and he starts the drive. "So, whose party is it?"

"Lisa's," Dean tells me.

"Your ex Lisa?" I ask.

"Yeah, that one," Dean replies.

"All the popular kids are gonna be there. Crowley, Alistair. Maybe even Azazel," I tell him.

"Azazel won't touch you, Cass. He knows better than that," he says.

"It's not him I'm worried about," I reply quietly, looking out the passenger side window.

"Cass, what aren't you telling me? First you have squirrelly moments, and now you're keeping something from me. What's going on?" Dean asks.

"Dean, it's nothing. Don't worry about it," I say.

Dean pulls the car to the side of the road and parks. "We're not going anywhere until you tell me what's going on."

I unlock and open the door, quickly stepping out. "That's not happening, Dean." He sighs, getting out of the car. Dean walks over to me and places a hand on my shoulder. I wince and pull away. "Don't."

"Cass, are people still hurting you?" He asks. I shake my head furiously. I back up until I hit a wall. Dean follows, then pulls the jacket and shirt off my shoulder. He sees a big gash that has already started to heal. "Cass," Dean sighs. "Talk to me."

"No," I say. "You're not gonna make me tell."

"The names. Crowley, Alistair, Azazel. They're the ones you mentioned. The only ones. Dammit, Cass! Why didn't you tell me?" Dean asks. I flinch and squeeze my eyes shut, curling into myself. "I'm sorry, I'm not going to hurt you."

"Dean, they'll kill me if you talk to them about it," I say quietly.

"They won't have to know that I know. I'll just stay with you all night."

"You will, but what about drunk Dean?" I ask.

"I won't drink. Simple as that," he replies. "Let's just get in the car, okay? Nobody's gonna hurt you as long as I'm there."

I sigh, walking back and sitting in the car. Dear follows suit. He drives down the street to a three story house. The long driveway houses 8 cars, along with 3 on the street. Dean parks and we get out.

"Will they even let me in?" I ask, looking at the older guy who's waiting outside for people to arrive. Looks to be in his 20's.

"That's Raphael, he works for Lisa's family. Him and I are close," Dean says, walking up the driveway. I hesitantly follow. He ascends onto the porch, me following.

"Dean," Raphael says happily. "Missed you, man. You haven't been to the last three parties."

"Yeah, sorry about that. I'm here now. Brought a guest," Dean says, stepping to the side to reveal me. I roll my eyes and chuckle at his weirdness.

"They told me you'd bring him," Raphael chuckles. Dean and I look at him with confusion. "Sorry, Dean. He can't come in. Gotta take your phone too."

"He comes or I go," Dean says, walking closer to Raphael. He raises his hands in defeat, so Dean backs down. "Thank you."

"Dean, they clearly don't like me. I'm not welcomed. Just take me home. Sam is still there, anyway," I reply.

"Shit, have Sam sleep in your bed until we get back," Dean says.

"I'll just take your keys and drive Baby back, then take Sam home," I tell him. Raphael looks at me like I'm crazy.

"Only way I'm letting you drive her is if I'm in the passengers side," Dean replies.

"Shit, Dean. You wouldn't even let Lisa drive your car," Raphael says.

"It's not just a car," Dean and I say at the same time. We look at each other before laughing.

"Dean!" Lisa yells, pulling him into a hug. "I missed you at the last couple parties. We always have so much fun."

I clear my throat, so she pulls away from Dean. He sighs in relief, making me stifle a laugh. "So am I getting the keys or no?"

"I told them I'd come, Cass. If I'm not drinking, you are. You can't drive then," Dean tells me.

"But I'm sober now. Just hand me the keys. You can stay," I tell him. "I'll bring you some pie tomorrow."

Dean sighs, taking his keys out of his pocket. "Pick me up in an hour." He puts them in my hand as he reaches his other hand for his wallet. Everyone crowds the door as they watch Dean with shock. "Get us some pie. There's enough for one, have some and leave the rest for me."

"Just give me the money, Dean. I'll take care of Baby, so spare me the talk." He hands me the money. "I'll be back in an hour. With Sam. Don't be drunk unless you want Sam to have to help me carry you."

"I'm not gonna drink, Cass. Already told you I wouldn't. Don't get pie on my jacket or Baby, okay?"

"Okay. Can I go now?" I ask, slightly laughing.

"Don't crash," Dean tells me.

"Goodbye, Dean," I laugh, walking off the porch.

*Dean's POV*

"Don't eat all of the pie!" I yell.

"Just go inside!" Cass yells back, opening the drivers side. I laugh, rolling me eyes. Cass drives off and I turn to the door.

"Yes?" I ask.

"Gay much?" Azazel asks.

"I didn't hit you the first time. I won't hesitate to do it this time," I warn. "I'm not gay, I'm just not a homophobe."

"Jacket, the car, saying the same thing at the same exact time, the pie?" Raphael asks. "How long have you two known each other?"

"A little over two weeks ago," I reply, shrugging. "It's nothing. You guys were being assholes, so he didn't want to stay. Not like you cared. You're lucky his family didn't kill you, Azazel. You know that?"

"They know?" He asks, eyes blowing wide. "For how long?"

"Two weeks. Ever since you decided to shove him into the locker and say you were gonna rape him," I shrug. Everyone looks at him with shock. "They didn't know?"

"Crowley and Alistair knew," he whispers.

They look over at me with shock and fear. "I found his bruises. You even hesitate to touch him again and I'm sending his whole family, plus me and Sam, after the two of you. That goes to any of you. Lucifer and Gabe are already on Azazel's ass, watching his moves. You know how Lucifer is. Imagine his whole family."

"And how do you even know them?" Crowley asks.

"I was just at his house. His two younger siblings are six, so they don't count. They're Michael and Hannah. Alfie and Gabe are Sam's age. Lucifer is Castiel's twin. Naomi, Anna, and Zachariah are twenty-three. Then there's Chuck, their father. He may not look like much but you don't want to mess with him. I've been talking with Castiel for two weeks. You think I don't know about his family? I'm not heartless."

They stare at me stunned. "So basically we'll have nine people come after us?"

"Well if Alfie figures out how much shit you put him through, yeah, you'd have nine. My dad's met him, though. They're friends, at least. So either way, you'd have nine. If Alfie joins, then ten."

"Is he the one who taught you to fight?" Lisa asks.

I nod. "Me and Sam. Taught to protect ourselves ever since I was four and Sam was four. So I have two years of more experience than him," I tell them. "You know how I was with Lisa?" They nod. "That was after we broke up. Lisa and I weren't even friends at the time. Cass is my best friend, so guess how that would go."

"We won't touch him," Ketch tells me.

"Glad thats settled. We got like half an hour till he comes back and then you know how I'll be. Occupied. Let's go inside. You got your wish, he's not there. I'm not texting him because I don't want him to crash," I say. We all walk to the living room before sitting down. "Kinda small for a party, isn't it?"

"We knew you were coming so we decided to keep it small," Balthazar tells me.

"Thanks, I guess. So what's been up with you guys?" I ask them.

"Who goes first?" Crowley asks.

"You, Alistair, and Azazel. Don't want to hear from either of you. Think you can just bully someone for no reason? No, you should've known I'd find out," I tell them.

"I don't see what's wrong with Castiel," Balthazar says. Everyone turns to face him, I smile. "I've been hanging out with Gabriel and Alfie. Two of his brothers. They're proud of him. Of everything he's done. There's nothing wrong with him. So what if he's gay? That's not anyone else's business."

"You should see Lucifer," I laugh. Everyone looks at me in shock. "He's completely different at school. Unless it involves Castiel or his brothers. He's protective. Especially with Cass, though. They're twins."

"Twins?" Azazel asks.

"Yeah he just about came after you when he found out. It's like the relationship I have with Sammy," I tell them.

"That's a cute relationship," Lisa says.

"Hey, where's Amara?" I ask.

"I don't think she could make it," Balthazar tells me.

•••

We talk for the rest of the time, until Castiel arrives. "I've gotta go, guys. Cass is here," I tell them.

"I'll walk you out," Lisa says.

"I want to talk to Castiel real quick," Balthazar says.

The three of us get up and exit the house. Cass gets out of Baby and waits for me to say goodbye. Balthazar walks to Castiel. All of a sudden, I feel lips on mine. I quickly push them away, to see Lisa staring at me in shock. "What the hell, Lisa? We broke up."

"Then why can't we get back together?" She asks.

"Because we broke up for a reason," I tell her. "Goodbye, Lisa." I walk down the steps and over to Cass. "Keys?" Cass hands me the pie and keys. The two of them are still deep in conversation.

*Castiel's POV*

"Yeah, you can definitely sit with us sometime. I'm sure they'd appreciate you hanging around more. Specifically Alfie. Not many people want to talk to him, which I personally think is crazy," I tell Balthazar.

"People are too judgmental these days. You ever need someone to talk to either, shoot me a text," Balthazar says. We swap phones and put in our numbers before giving them back. "See you around, Castiel." Then he walks back to the house.

"I'll take you back home," Dean tells me. I nod, hopping in the passengers seat.

"You back with Lisa?" I ask. Dean looks over at me and raises his eyebrows. "Saw you two kiss before Balthazar started talking."

"No, she kissed me. Wants to get back together, but I don't want to," he replies.

"Oh, that's weird," I say. Dean looks at me, hinting to elaborate. "You've been broken up for awhile, breakups happen for a reason. Then the day you give me the jacket, she tries to get with you again."

"Never thought about it like that. Why wouldn't she try before though?" Dean asks.

"Maybe she thought you'd give it to her, not knowing you'd give it to me," I shrug.

"Nobody even knew we were talking besides your brother, Azazel, and that girl I told off," he tells me. "They didn't talk about it, so nobody knew."

"Yeah, true. I'll get Sam when we arrive, that way you don't have to go in. They'd just ask about the party even though I didn't go," I tell him.

"What are you gonna tell them?" Dean asks me.

"I don't know yet. Probably just say it was a small gathering and I mostly hung out with you," I shrug.

We pull up to my house. "I'll see you tomorrow, Cass," Dean says. I nod, hopping out of the car and going inside the house.

"Who left the door unlocked?" I ask Dad.

"You did. Didn't know how long you'd be gone for, so we left it unlocked," he tells me. "Sam is in your room." I nod, heading to my room.

"Sam, Dean is waiting outside," I say quietly. I softly shake him to wake him up. He stirs and opens his eyes. "Dean is outside waiting. Time to go."

Sam yawns, sifting up. "Bye, Castiel," he says. He gets up and exits the room. I follow, to make sure he gets out okay. Then, I walk back to my bed and lay down.

•••

"Cassie, are you ready yet?!" Gabe yells.

"I'm coming!" I yell back. I decide to give up on my hair, since it won't get to the way I want it to. After walking to the door, I see Lucifer and Alfie already gone. "They already go to the bus?"

"Yeah," Gabe says. My phone buzzes, so I pull it out.

Dean

Dean: Did you leave yet?

Me: I'm about to leave right now

Dean: Don't. I pass by your house on the way to school

Me: Okay, what about Gabe? Luci and Alfie left without the two of us

Dean: He can come

Me: Are you texting and driving??

Dean: This is Sam on Dean's phone. He's driving, telling me what to type

Me: Good. Oh and hi Sam

Dean: Hi Castiel. We're pulling up now

"Gabe," I say. He looks over at me. "Dean is picking us up." I hear a car honk and laugh. We walk out of the house to see Sam getting in the backseat. I get in the passengers side and Gabe sits next to Sam. "Thanks for picking us up."

I look in the rear view mirror to see Sam glaring at Dean. "It's no problem, Cass. No candy eating in the car, Gabriel."

"He knows?" Gabe asks me.

"He knows about everyone," I point out. "What'd you two do last night?"

"Played video games, ate some candy," Gabe says. "We ate dinner in my room."

"Dad never lets us do that," I say.

"Well I didn't want Sam to feel awkward at a family dinner," Gabe shrugs.

"What'd you two do last night?" Sam asks.

"You know what we did," Dean says. "Turns out it was just a small gathering with my friends. Lisa kissed me and tried to get back with me."

"Ew!" Sam says. "That's disgusting. She was such a bitch to any girl who even looked your way and she was always clinging to you."

"Yeah, I know. Probably because I didn't give her my jacket," Dean tells him.

"Don't steal my idea," I tell Dean.

He laughs at my reaction. "Sorry, Cass. It makes sense, though." Dean parks the car and we all get out. Lisa instantly rushes over to Dean. "Uh, hey, Lisa."

"Hey, Dean. You want to have a quickie in the janitors closet before class?" She asks, twirling her fingers in her hair. I snort, trying to keep in my laugh. Sam gags, and Gabe just whines that she's disgusting. Lisa looks between the three of us before turning back to Dean. "Brought Asstiel instead of me?"

"It's Castiel," Dean corrects her. "And at least he has the decency to not act like he's everything someone would want. You throw yourself at guys, Lisa."

"You throw yourself at girls, what's the difference?" Lisa asks.

"They came onto me, I just didn't back down. I haven't done anything with anyone in over two weeks, until you kissed me," Dean tells her. I stare at him in shock. Ever since him and I started talking he hasn't been with anyone? Did I really have that much affect on him?

Lisa huffs and walks off. Balthazar passes by her and stifles a laugh. "What's up with her?" He asks us.

"Tried to get with me, again," Dean says.

"Again?" Balthazar asks.

"They kissed yesterday when you came over to talk to me," I tell him.

"Oh, okay. Where's Lucifer and Alfie?" He asks.

"They left without us," Gabe tells him.

"Oh, wow. Just wanted to let you know I'll be sitting with you guys at lunch today," he tells us.

"Okay, see you then," I say to him. He nods and walks back to the school entrance. "We still have like fifteen minutes until class."

Sam and Gabe look at each other before racing off into the school. Dean and I laugh. "Whose locker first?"

"Mine, I guess," I reply. Dean nods, so we walk inside. I lead him over to my locker to see two things. On my locker are the words "gay" and "using him." Leaning next to it is Jack. "Jack?" I ask.

"Castiel? It's really you. Lucifer told me this was your locker," Jack tells me. I walk over to him and pull him in a hug before walking back to Dean. "Who's this?"

"Jack, this is Dean. Dean, this is my best friend, Jack. We lost contact over the last year, but before that we were always texting and calling after we moved away," I say.

"Who wrote this on your locker?" Dean asks.

"My guess, Lisa. Or somebody else who likes you, who knows?"

"Wait, Castiel. You're not a sports person. Why are you wearing a team captain jacket?" Jack asks.

"It's Dean's," I laugh, opening my locker. "It's something they do in this school. He gave it to me rather than one of his once-and-done girls."

"Hey! I don't do that anymore," Dean says. I laugh. "I haven't for awhile now."

"So proud," I joke. "No, seriously, Dean. You had one girlfriend, then the rest you just messed with. On one hand, they'd probably be thrilled to be with you. But that's probably because they thought they had a chance of being with you. Then they had to accept the fact that they're nothing to you. You've been ignoring your friends for over two weeks, because of me. You've been ignoring everyone. We help each other with work because if not we don't get any of it done. So, naturally, they'd think something was going on between us. Probably thought I tainted you with my 'gay', as they'd call it. You're still straight, that's what they don't know. You'll always be straight, no matter who you meet."

Jack and Dean stare at me in shock as I finish my rant  I close my locker and watch as Dean struggles to find what to say next. "Cass, all of that, it's true. Except the last part," Dean says quietly, walking closer to me. "I'm not straight, I never have been. Probably never been bi, either. They don't need to know that, though."

"Wait, what?" I ask, looking up at him. "You're...gay?" He shushes me, so I roll my eyes. "You shock me, Winchester. What's with all the girls, then?"

"Trying to feel something, anything. Didn't want to accept it, so I pretended instead. Then it spiraled out of control," he sighs.

"Wow, okay. Give me a minute to process," I tell him, looking at Jack before looking at the ground. I sigh, looking back up to Dean. "Is that why you kept defending me? Giving me the jacket? Because you could relate?"

"In a way," Dean sighs. I narrow my eyebrows and tilt my head, making Jack stifle a laugh. Dean acts like Jack isn't there, letting out a chuckle and shaking his head. "Cass, you're different. I can't explain it. When I found you in that closet, I just knew there was something about you. Whether it was your voice, your shyness, or anything else, I don't know. I thought to myself, 'how could someone do this to someone so special?' It struck me as bizarre, then seeing Azazel, hearing what he said. I couldn't let anything happen to you."

"Dean, what are you saying?" I ask quietly.

The bell rings, making us all look down the hall at the classrooms. Jack quickly waves goodbye and walks off. I go to walk to class, but Dean stops me. "Cass, wait. Just for a little longer. If I don't say this now, I might never." I nod, going back to my original position. "What I'm saying," Dean pauses. His eyes flicker to my lips before looking back into mine. I involuntarily drag my tongue across them. "God, Cass. I'm trying, trying so fucking hard here. I've been holding it in for too long."

"Do it," I whisper.

Dean sighs in relief before slowing resting his hands on my cheeks. I wrap my arms around his neck and my eyes flutter closed. He leans in and plants his lips on top of mine. We start to move our lips in sync, falling into a quickly established pattern. After running out of air, we rest our foreheads together and smile. We hear slow clapping from my left side so we quickly pull away. I groan in frustration as Lucifer stands there with a smirk on his face, slowly clapping.

"Cute, really. Save it for later, our teacher sent me to make sure you were here today," Luci tells me.

Dean softly laughs. "I'll see you at lunch, Cass." He quickly pecks me on the forehead before walking off to homeroom.

"I'm gonna kill you," I say, walking over to Lucifer. He laughs and rolls his eyes.

"At least I waited till you were done," he points out.

"Yeah, but still. You didn't have to make him run off," I reply.

"You'll see him at lunch, Cassie. Lighten up," he laughs.

•••

I sit down with Dean on my left and Alfie on my right. Balthazar is seared to the right of Alfie. Jack, Sam, Gabe, and Lucifer on the opposite side of the table.

"Nice to see you back, Jack," Gabe says. We all laugh. "Big table today."

Lucifer keeps staring between me and Dean, smirking. "Quit the act, will you? It's creeping me out," Dean tells Lucifer. He stifles a laugh in return.

"Dean, you know how he is," I sigh. Dean shrugs. "Luci, drop it. That was between us, not you."

"Then don't make out in the hallway where people can see," Lucifer says loudly. Everyone looks at us at surrounding tables. I put my hands over my face and groan in frustration.

"Can I punch him?" Dean asks me. I let out a laugh and Luci scoffs. "Don't be so loud announcing it next time."

"I can say it louder, if you'd like. DEA-"

"Shut up!" I whine. "You wouldn't like it if I outed you to the whole school."

"Well I'm not bi, so there's nothing to out," he responds. Dean and I look at each other before chuckling. "What?"

"Nothing," Dean says.

"You two?" Gabe asks.

"You should've seen them at his locker before the bell rang," Jack says. Everyone at the table turns to him. "Dean wouldn't admit it, Cass wouldn't believe it. Dean didn't know how to tell him, Cass was being himself with the confused head tilt. You could actually see the sexual tension."

I tilt my head and furrow my eyebrows at Jack's explanation. Dean laughs, wrapping an arm around my shoulder and pulling me closer. "You're too cute when you do that," he whispers in my ear. I blush and hide my face in his side, making everyone laugh.

The chatter in the cafeteria becomes hushed, but there's still multiple conversations going at the same time. I feel Dean tense, so I pull away and look up at him. "What'? Are you okay?"

"They're, uh, staring," Dean says. I look around and see a lot of eyes on us. "Didn't expect to come out like this." He laughs softly, sounding s but scared.

"I remember when I came out. It was horrifying, Dean. But you can get through it," I sigh.

•••

As it turns out, he did. Dean was still the most popular guy in school, and it encouraged others to come out as well. It's been ten years since then, and Dean and I ended up getting married. At the high school reunion, people were shocked to see we were still together. Sam and Gabe actually ended up getting married too, but they got together at Dean and I's graduation. Jack and I are still best friends, even though I'm married. Dean and I will have him over every other week to hang out or talk about how things have been. Balthazar and I even managed to become friends. My siblings and I are still close, as I am with my Dad. It's been an all around happy ending, and I don't think life could be better.
