FOURTEEN. caught the l-o-v-e

ROMANCE WAS never Rory's strong suit. She was one of the Brewer's who treaded the water slowly and when she found the one, she felt good about it.

Layla and Jack had always had each other. Yeah, Layla was the talk of Seaford. Anyone and anything would do anything to protect and get with her by any means, but it was and would always be Jack and Layla.

Belle was a little different. She was able to attract guys with ease. She was the Brewer that let people in and kicked them out just as quickly. Belle was sort of like Layla in that sense. Everyone adored the eldest twin and would do much to please her without her asking. Belle would date, Belle would flirt, Belle would have secret rendezvous in her bedroom.

And Rory?

Well, she was making out with Robby in the dojo as she was getting ready for practice for the day.

She had been in the dojo that day, slipping on her shoes as she adjusted her fallen sock and began to throw her hair into a ponytail when Robby stepped inside.

She had been sitting on the bench when he walked in and joined her side. It was a causal conversation, nothing different since the confession.

She didn't really know if they were dating.

Rory rarely brought boys home. Not in Seaford and not in Reseda. She was a homebody if anything.

The one time she had brought a boy home, Jack didn't like him and Rory broke up with him that night.

She didn't want to ruin whatever she had with Robby of her dad didn't like him. She really liked Robby and if Jack didn't like him... she wouldn't know what to do.

But, to digress, they (Robby and Rory) were sitting on the bench. She had finished leaving her shoes and began to take her necklaces off when Robby insisted that he "help" take them off.

She smiled, not thinking much of it as she moved her ponytail to the side and Robby's calloused fingers graced her neck and began to take the jewelry off of her.

And one thing lead to another and they were sitting on the bench, making out with each other.

She smiled, pressing one last kiss to Robby's lips, "You're suppose to be doing warm ups with Sam."

Rory's voice carried a playful tone as she reluctantly pulled away from their exchange. Her lips lingered against Robby's for a moment longer.

Robby chuckled softly, his eyes filled with adoration as he gazed at her, "You're right." He replied, a hint of mischief in his voice, "But I think I'd rather be right here with you."

Rory playfully swatted his arm, "Oh, so you're ditching your responsibilities now?"

He leaned in closer, "For the right person, I'd gladly break a few rules," He whispered, his warm breath tickling her ear.

A shiver of excitement ran down Rory's spine as she met his gaze, "I guess I can't argue with that," she replied, a playful smirk playing on her lips.

"Guys, come look!" Demetri shouted.

"Alright, let's go join the others." Rory said.

Rory stood up first, making her way outside as Robby followed behind her.

"Look what I found." Demetri smiled, "It was just sitting in these rocks."

He handed the object over to Sam, "Is that Mr. Miyagi's Medal of Honor?" She asked, "That's crazy. We looked all over for this."

Robby sighed, "Huh. Must have been here the whole time."

And soon enough, practice would begin. Day in and day out everyone would find themselves at their respective dojos working on everything that they could.

And at night?

Some nights at least, Rory would be in her room, the lights dim, and a movie playing in the background (this time 2017's Happy Death Day).

Expect, her focus wasn't on the satirical horror movie, but instead on her boyfriend.

Robby had gently pushed Rory down onto the bed. Their lips finally met in a soft, lingering kiss.

Rory's hands found their way to Robby's face, her fingers gently caressing his cheek as their kiss deepened. Their lips moved in perfect harmony, exploring each other with a gentle passion.

Robby's hand made their way from her thigh to her curvature of her hips.

But their intimate moment was abruptly interrupted by a knock on the bedroom door.

Rory quickly pushed Robby off of her and he rolled his eyes, making his way into her bathroom, shutting the door behind him.

She ran her fingers through her hair and opened the door with a tight lipped smile.

"Hey, dad." She smiled, "Can I help you?"

"Just want to make sure you're feeling good. You know, no more dizzy spells."

"Nope."

She was lying, by the way.

She didn't see the need to be so worried about it. She only assumed that she had been so dizzy because of the heat. And the headaches? From how much she had been hitting the ground without a mat underneath her.

Unbeknownst to her, it was so much more than that.

But she didn't want anyone worrying about her. It was the last thing she wanted.

"Okay, kid."

Rory quickly shoved her dad out and shut the door, locking in behind her with a sigh.

Robby soon stepped out of the bathroom.

"Are you going to tell them?" He asked.

She softly smiled, "Soon, just not now. They're worried about—"

"The dizzy spells." He finished, "What's up with that anyway?" He asked, brushing the hair from her face.

She threw her head back with a groan as she rested her hands on Robby's torso.

"Nothing. I swear." She reassured, "They're paranoid."

"They care about you."

"I know. But this is nothing. I promise."

She held a small smile before pressing a small kiss against Robby's lips, "Now, let's finish the movie. I actually like this one. Oh! And Moon invited us to her party tomorrow. We should go."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes." She smiled, "She'd said that it would be that party of the summer."

If only Moon kept her word.

THE MIYAGI-DO dojo found themselves at Moon's party along with Belly in tow. The party had been in full swing with people drinking and Corba Kai members sitting on the couch.

Tension was heavy and Miguel soon walked in with Tory by his side.

They left the group and Moon soon approached Sam, Belly, and Rory with a smile.

"Moon, you never said anything about inviting Cobra Kai." Sam said.

"Well, I figured with summer ending and school staring back up, we could all stop the fighting and be friends again."

Rory smiled, "Maybe." She grabbed Robby's hand, pulling them away from the crowd and towards the drinks.

She stepped outside, Robby following behind as she held a red solo cup in her hands.

Tory caught sight of Rory and Robby and stepped down from the podium that she stood up on.

"Aurora."

Rory turned at the sound of her name with knit brows. She gave a small smile towards Tory who didn't return it.

"Did you know knew Sam."

"Uh, yeah." She smiled, "We're apart of the same dojo."

Tory nodded. Them two of them hadn't hung out since they met, but they had been texting and talking over the phone for a while.

Rory held her small smile as she glanced back, giving a small wave towards Miguel.

"Well... I think it's fair to know that she tripped me at work the other night." Tory said, "What are they teaching over there at Miyagi-Do?"

"What are you talking about?" Rory asked.

"Like you don't know." Tory scoffed, "Your "friends" over at Miyagi-Do are just a bunch of pussies." She chuckled, "I couldn't imagine how you got mixed up with them. Daddy must be proud."

Robby stepped forward, pushing Rory behind, "I think you've said enough."

Tory only smiled. She finally took her attention away from Robby and Rory and onto Sam. Her next victim.

Tory gave them on last look before making her way towards Sam, Miguel following behind her.

"Rory—"

Robby turned, Rory nowhere in sight.

She had let go of his hand and made her way into the house, grabbing a solo cup and sitting down in a random spot in the house.

There wasn't no truth on what Tory was saying, was there? Was her dad actually disappointed in her? God, did she utterly screw up?

Things were so much easier in Seaford. She wouldn't be going through this shit if she'd stayed in Seaford.

Rory was soon pulled from her thoughts when gasping and laughter was soon heard. She turned, seeing Demetri drowned in beer and Hawk standing in front of him with a smile.

"That's what I thought." Hawk said, throwing his cup towards Demetri, "Still a pussy."

Hawk walked off and Rory grabbed a rolled of paper towels from the kitchen, making her way towards Demetri.

"He's still in there."

Rory furrowed her brows, "What?"

"Eli. He's still in there, deep down."

Rory sighed, handing Demetri some paper towels, "If you say so."

Demetri stood to his feet, saying he'd get dried off in the bathroom and left Rory's side.

NIGHTFALL SOON fell over Moon's party and Robby finally found Rory in the kitchen pouring soda into a solo cup.

"Hey," He called, stepping towards her, "are you okay?"

"Yeah... Guess so."

"You know what she said wasn't true."

Rory sighed, "Whatever."

Robby gave Rory a sadden look. Tory's words struck her in a way that no one could take back. No one, absolutely no one, could change her mind about Tory's words.

Unless Jack Brewer himself said something about it.

Robby pressed a small kiss against Rory's temple and said he would grab her something to eat.

She stepped outside, her soda in her hands as she pushed herself through the crowd.

She bumped into someone, profusely apologizing before looking and seeing that it was Tory.

The blonde rolled her eyes, "Not that I want to speak to you right now, but have you seen Miguel?"

"I think he might've been making his way towards the backyard. Near the pool."

Tory didn't say anything, she only brushed past Rory and turned back as she saw Rory making her way else where.

She could've apologized. But she wasn't. That wasn't like her. She knew her words hurt Rory by the look on her face.

But rage and fury would only succumb Tory as she saw Miguel and Sam making out right where Rory said he would be.

Tory was pissed. She was angry that Sam had been making out with her boyfriend and that Rory had led her right to it.

Expect, Rory had no idea that Miguel and Sam were together. She only saw Miguel making his way towards the pool.

But Tory wouldn't be damned if she would believe something like that.
