Watchers, Listeners and Observers: My headcanons
Just to clarify, I never fully watch Evo, so yeah

Colors
The colors typically means what 'class' you're in, I can only think of the house thing in Harry Potter so imagine that.
(Not a Harry Potter fan, so don't talk to me about that)
Ever Difference/After Similarity (Red)
For Watchers, this means they watch over modded worlds. And their powers have much more variety than other Watchers.
For Listeners, it's very similar. They detect anything that shouldn't be in the modded world. Depending on their powers, they are send to a world that better suit them.
Ever Traveling/After Dimension (Yellow)
Yellow watchers often keep track of the time period their players are in, or watch after the Nether, and occasionally dimensions. They're not allow in The End as it is the Void Watchers's job.
Yellow Watchers that aren't assigned to watch the dimensions, make sure that anything out of the players's time period doesn't end up there.
Yellow Watchers tend to be assigned rp worlds, if sent to any other worlds, they watch over the Nether, if modded, than the other dimensions.
Yellow Listeners are assigned to make sure the portals are working correctly and any outside force aren't affecting them.
Watchers of this class can control time and can make portals leading to different time periods. They can make portals to the Nether, and depending on the world assigned, other dimensions.
Listeners also have powers to open up portals to other dimensions. However, they are much stronger than the Watchers at this.
Ever Healing/After Damage (Green)
Watchers and Listeners of this class are much more closer than the other class.
The Watchers keep track the world's nature, both animals and plants. They help keep them alive and are able to communicate with them.
The Listeners detect any outside coding in the beings and they are in charge of getting it out of them. They also tended to be more talented at brewery. However, they are considered to be useless in the Listeners community as Listeners typically start off in this class.
The powers of Watchers and Listeners in this class are basically the exact same. Ability to heal plants and weaponize them, communicate with mobs and shapeshift.
Ever Evolving/After Same (Blue)
This class of Watchers and Listeners are quite similar.
Watchers of this class watch after the codes and make it safe for players. Listeners destroy any and all outside codes and keep track of the update.
Their powers would involve coding. Technically, they're quite OP with the ability to summon objects to defend (Watcher) or attack (Listeners) as long as it exists in the world they're guarding.
Voidlings (Purple)
The purple class is the 'Void' class. Where Watchers/Listeners with void blood are only allow, however it is possible to get into this class with years of training and dedication.
Watchers guard not a world assigned to them, but the Void. There is a consequence to this, a risk of getting corrupted, or void corruption. Although, Listeners assigned to collect Void magic (for the update portal, or any portal really) are at a higher risk at this.
Watchers and Listeners of this class have more power over the other class, although not as much powers as the Ever Watchers and the After Listeners.
They fuel Ever Travelers and After Dimensions power.
Ever After
Ever Watchers are basically the Watcher council. If a situation was serious enough, one of them would show up. However if all of them show up, someone seriously messed up.
There are five Ever Watchers in charge of the five Watchers classes. Similar to After Listeners.
While Ever Watchers work behind the scene, After Listeners work more closely with the other Listeners.
After Listeners give direct orders to the Listeners and teach the young (or new) about the Listening ways.
Either way, Watchers and Listeners work closely together due to the relationship of the Ever Watchers and After Listeners.
Corruption
Watchers and Listeners aren't gods, they are beings that are supposed to take care of Players roaming in the world assigned to them. They are quite powerful, and with power, some become corrupted.
Void corruption is the only form of corruption that can twist a Watcher/Listener's mind so Watchers/Listeners with bad intents truly mean harm.
While Ever Watchers are quick to send corrupted Watchers to death, After Listeners will attempt to heal the corrupted Listeners.
After years of this, Ever Watchers had grown to just simply give them imprisonment and let the After Listeners attempt to heal them.
But if failed, the corrupted will simply be pushed further into corruption's hands.
Which was why Ever Watchers never tried healing them before, however after seeing the After Listeners succeed where they failed, they gave them the chance.
Any Watcher and Listeners of any class can get corrupted, however the Voidlings are most prone to it.
Observers

If fail to heal the corrupted, they get pushed further and further into corruption. The failed are locked up with high security, but sometimes they still manage to escape.
The escapees, are Observers.
They are simply a group of corrupted beings that brings chaos. Many of the players aren't aware of them, though the higher ups are aware and prepared for any attacks.
Observers are the two typical villains. Insane, chaotic madman and smart, devious madman.
The latter forged a group and decided to use the unofficial name Observers given to them by the Watchers. The insane ones burst in the base and announced they were joining.
They aren't officially in the group, but they're in anyways. They couldn't get them out, they didn't want them in there.
Types of Watchers and Listeners
In this list, it's the what job they do, I guess, I don't know.
Sky Wings
These types of Watchers and Listeners keep in watch of the sky, however they only watch after worlds where the players have Elytas. There are barely any Sky Watchers and Winged Listeners due to this.
Sky Watchers process power to control the wind tides and they have actual wings. Winged Listeners can levitate, despite their name, and use the shift clouds.
Winged Listeners spot a threat (in the sky or on the ground, doesn't matter) and inform the Sky Watchers, who take the threat out.
Any Observers previously a Sky Watcher or Winged Listeners would remain the same except much more unpredictable and corrupted.
Player Shifter
Watchers and Listeners here are often disguise to fit in their player's(s) world.
Player Watchers have it more simple, they dress as literally another, as long as they don't show the Watcher symbol, and report to the Watchers.
Player Watchers, unless they're new to becoming a Watcher, must be trained to hide their magic unless it's to protect their players.
Player Watchers are always in multiplayer servers.
Shifter Listeners can shapeshift, they tend to shapeshift into mobs you befriend, such as horse, parrots, cats, dogs etc etc.
"Any mobs can be befriended if you try hard enough." ~The Listener that shapeshifted into a Wither.
Player Watchers are only assigned multiplayer servers, however Shifter Listeners can be in any worlds. As long as the players manage to befriend them.
Shifter Listeners of course are informed of their players months beforehand, so they get to result about their players.
Player Watchers that fell into corruption can simply pass off as any normal Watcher, Shifter Observers have more power.
Fishy Aqua
These Listeners and Watchers are in charge keeping the ocean (mostly, sometimes lakes or puddles) pure.
Aqua Listeners tend to fall into the After Damage class, as they communicate with the sea (occasionally lakes or puddles) creatures. However they also manage to speak with the underwater plants.
Fishy Watchers aren't at all fishy like the name suggests.
The Ever Watcher that named them that because they lost a bet they made while high, because of course they did.
Anyways, Fishy Watchers balance out the water tides, they're also in charge of keeping the ocean as calm as possible during a storm. (Aqua Listeners keep the animals calm)
Fishy Watchers, as already mentioned, control the water tides, they can also control water however it is barely necessary. Aqua Listeners can breathe underwater and swim as fast as a dolphin and communicate with any underwater creature.
These Listeners have traits similar to underwater creatures. Scals, grills, weds between fingers/toes, tail to help out with swimming.
Some breathe through moisture skin or anus, yes some turtles and salamanders breathe through their anus.
Any Observers previously a Fishy Aqua will remain their traits, obviously.
The Most Important Rule
Once assigned a world, Watchers and Listeners are given the option to either interact with their Players -Similar to Evolution- or never interact them.
If a situation occurs where the Watchers/Listeners must interact with their players but selected the latter, Player Watcher(s) alongside with Shifter Listener(s) are spent to the server to help the Players.
In solo worlds, these things tend not to happen. Unless of course, the world somehow becomes corrupted, then the Watcher and Listener have to grab the Player out of the world.
The War for Protection
Watchers and Listeners have a similar goal, to protect Players. However, in the past, they fought over the 'proper' way to protect them.
One fight led to a war, the war ended the fighting and they started to work together.
A typical, any possibly cliche, friendship between a Watcher and a Listener ended it.
The Watcher and Listeners end up becoming the head of the Ever Watcher and After Listeners respectively.
Ever Watchers and After Listeners have longer lifespan compared to a normal Watcher and Listener have btw.
To become one
Listeners and Watchers can't live forever, obviously, so they recruit other players to join their ranks.
Watchers

For Watchers, you have to do simple tasks, earn the trust of all five of the Ever Watchers and complete each training course.
The simple tasks recruits are trusted with involves the next update.
For example, if you were a recruit before the combat update, you would be spent to plant down chorus flower (or as I call it, chorus sapling).
Earning the trust of the Ever Watchers is through tasks they personally spent you to do.
Training shows your skill set and help determine what class you would better fit in. An example of one of these trainings is surviving an old, broken down, corrupted world.
Before training, Watchers help recruits discover their magic and teaches them how to control them. If the recruit does not have natural magic ability, they are taught how to survive with basically anything by non-magic Watcher.
If you're a Watcher that wishes to watch after worlds, the recruits will be teamed up and forced to do team bonding activities.
Listeners

If you wish become a Listener, it is preferred that you are familiar to coding and/or very observant.
If you were to have one or both traits, you have to suppress challenges and gain the trust of After Listeners and Listeners.
Challenges of the Listeners involves trust alongside with teamwork.
Yeah, Listeners straight up immediately went for team bonding activity.
