↳ HOW TO COMBINE GIFS
COMBINING GIFS isn't that hard once you've got the hang of it <3
the sizing will be up to preference but i'll typically use 800x200 for a sign off/more rectangular gif of sorts ( see above ) & 600x240 for an intro gif ( see Dear Reader chapter ).
STEP ONE : open up a new project on photoshop▬in whatever size you'd like; i'll be using 800x200 for this example.
STEP TWO : go to file ➜ open ➜ select your two gifs of choice
STEP THREE : ensure your two chosen gifs have the same amount of frames! this is very important▬i can't stress that enough. if one has more frames than the other, delete the extra frames until they have the same amount.
STEP FOUR : select all frames for one of the gifs and then select copy▬this can be done via the three lines circled below.
STEP FIVE : go to your blank project and select create frame animation.
STEP SIX : go to the same three lines as before ( in the right-hand corner of the timeline ) and select paste frames. choose the paste over selection option.
STEP SEVEN : move the gif into it's correct place and then repeat steps four to six for your second gif.
STEP EIGHT : add a new layer in between where the first gif ends and the second gif starts. draw over the entire layer using black, and then duplicate the layer.
STEP NINE : using the duplicated layer, select create clipping mask.
STEP TEN : select all the gif layers above the clipping mask and move them below it.
STEP ELEVEN : erase the black colouring on the clipping mask, and then erase aspects of the black colouring on the non-clipping mask layer until you feel the gifs are blended ( if you erase too much, you can always put it back using the brush tool )
