Advice for johnlennon234

Dear John,
Can I ask you for some advice?
I have anxiety disorder, and now have just been diagnosed with dyslexia(thank god for spellcheck). I don't have high self esteem, and I always feel stupid, or nervous that others will see that too!

How do you think I can make myself feel better about my self esteem?

Dear johnlennon234 ,

I had problems with my self esteem as well. I call it my "fat Elvis" period because I just didn't feel very good about myself. But I found a way around it! If you want to higher your self esteem, try positive self-talk. If you tell yourself positive, good things, you may feel better about yourself.

NEVER compare yourself to others. Don't feel like you aren't as good as this person or that person because that makes things worse. They aren't you and you aren't them. Just keep thinking that. Feel proud of who you are because everyone is their own person. You just need to be yourself.

You don't need to be perfect, just be your best. If you feel like you need to strive or perfection, you will constantly be beating yourself up! Don't beat yourself up over things! Listen to your favorite music, celebrate the small things, and do what you enjoy!

Finally, don't worry about people seeing that you have anxiety. I don't care what people think! I used to, but I found that it really doesn't matter what a bunch of losers think of me. It just matters how I think of me. Don't feel nervous when you're talking to people. To practice talking with people you could try talking to a mirror. I've found this helps some. Also, when you're talking with other people, just think you're looking in a mirror. If you're just looking in a mirror at yourself, you won't be as nervous.

I've also heard that imagining people in their undies helps too.

I hope I helped!
